I love deadlock, Sinatraa’s opinions are valid, but we cannot ignore that everyone and their mother was screaming “give us ranked give us ranked give us ranked” when deadlock suddenly went from a few hundred players to over 150k within a very short period of time. People kept treating DL like it’s a fully released game, because it is better then AAA garbage we are fed nowadays. I’m not worried about DL’s future, but I will admit that the longer que times at night, sure does suck. When you can hop on Rivals, a way less polished, way more buggy, horribly optimized game, that is fully released. And you instantly find games at any given part of the day/night I’m not saying Rivals is bad, I’m saying that it has massive massive issues that should not exist, and affects everyone, but people with top of the line hardware. Deadlock made some bad choices, (they reverted them shortly after), 2 titan games came out (Rivals and POE2), and around that time they released a patch that tanked performance, and I remember not even being able to play on that patch until about a week later once they fixed the optimization issues. They made some decisions, but DL is not anywhere close to a lost cause. People mention DL’s character design being “Odd” which I agree with, but I don’t think it has anything to do with “Woke design” I think it’s just characters with unique designs. Geist is feminine, so is Paradox, and some others Abrams is obviously “masculine” male, Kelvin as well We have odd creatures/robots as characters, but they all have their own individual personality that makes them unique, I think their character design has absolutely nothing to do with Woke because we don’t have heroes who look like Psylocke from Rivals, (tbf that is her comic design tho)
funnily enough, deadlock technically does have some "woke" characters. pocket is non binary, mcginnis has a girlfriend (holliday), and lash had a non binary ex. (all of this was found in the files) though i doubt most people will give a crap about this lmao

@@Windy-b9pIt is NOT polished 😂😂😂, yes the core mechanic of the game will be the same but they still need to redesign all the characters, add more characters to the game (theres like 20 right now but 40 would be a decent number for a moba), add more items to the game (haven't finalised all the items and yet to add more which they plan to), finish the map, finalise the textures, give jungle camps more variety, still need to change the ui, finish establishing a good ranking system, fix the ridiculous matchmaking system, add a decent anti-cheat (hackers are rampant rn), add more objectives/things to do throughout the map to reward exploration even more and make it more interesting, finish designing mid-boss (art, textures, attacks), finish the lore for all the characters, add progression for all the characters, add cosmetics to the game etc..... the game is simply "playable" right now, nothing is final and most of the game are placeholders that were mainly from the Neon Prime version which they only cancelled about a year and a half ago. They released it for invite only so early because they can get player data to see what works and what doesn't.

idk 20k daily invite only alpha is pretty good. the game is playdough graphics with huge meta changes every patch and still has a dedicated pre-release playerbase.
deadlock will probably have a comeback someday, but to be honest, i was getting burned out after they removed ranked because the match quality got so bad, and then i fell off of the game completely after marvel rivals came out and ended up just playing league for my moba fix. i think that deadlock is a unique game with a lot of potential, but at the moment there are other, more accessible games to play and i don't really feel compelled to spend my time on it in its current state. i will say however, that although it's fun, marvel rivals is horrifically optimized and probably the worst-made game i've played in recent memory, so i also don't have much interest in playing it competitively right now, so there's a chance that deadlock will appeal to me again in the near future.
