I may play from time to time, but I currently have the game uninstalled. I will continue uploading challenge runs of various games and streaming just not on Apex. Thank you all for supporting me over the years I love you all
Ts is real, because who wants to play a slightly updated game mode that you've already played, when you could play literally everything on fortnite. You can literally make the gamemode on fortnite.
He should've added "play Winter Express for 10th time in a row besides those years where devs decided to dump it and not even replace with anything at all"
Fortnite is cancer, I wanna play an fps game, not watch some fbi snitch cashing for a fake concert while high, thanks to adhd losers we cannot have a regular consistent game, it's always some worthless event that just milks the bank account of dummies, gaming sucks now
I feel so bad for the original Infinity Ward team that created Call of Duty and Titanfall, they saw both their franchise being milked, dragged through the mud and killed by corporate greed of Activision and EA
Highly developed industry is like this. Suits prioritize "business models" over experienced workers, because "models" can be streamlined and manipulated, gaming veterans can't.
No. COD is/will be the GOAT of shooters. And last I checked it still sells well. Just because you personally dont like it dosent make it bad. Same with Apex.
@@BedroomBull You Cod fans from nowadays are happy when they release a decent game and are ready to pay for the most obvious scam like MWIII. When Cod 1, 2, 4 or MW2 were releasing, they weren't decent games, they were litteraly a revolution for the entire gaming industry. I would love to say Cod is mid nowadays but it just doesn't exist anymore, because you guys just can't stop giving money to the corporate that fired the creators of the game to exploit the shell of it. Finaly some studio like Ubisoft are starting to see the consequences of their actions and it's not thanks to you. Also I really like Apex but I don't think a single second Respawn is happy being stuck on a BR in 2024 instead of doing the great games they should do.
As a casual with a 1.06 k/d since S3, I got tired of coming home from work and fighting Preds and TTV/TTOK demons with 100,000 kills on one legend. Came across a guy the other day named vUniqueTV, thought he was cheating (I’m on PS), went to his YT channel, and dude is clearly cheating his ass off. Between guys like that and the terrible matchmaking, the game is basically unplayable
100% this. The game is designed around monetising to casuals but it's completely unplayable if you don't learn to abuse all illegal move tech as soon as its discovered. There is literally not strategm, it's just "who can outtwitch you with the current broken weapon"
@@wukongismygod1952 100k kills is still a LOT I play from s1 (not played any season tho), I am pretty decent but I still have like 12k kills? Another friend of mine who was multiple times pred and that plays all day has 50k between all his Legends... 100k is NOT normal
It’s sad how cheap EA is with Apex. They’re just going to let it fizzle out and don’t even seem to care. They got the best BR gunplay on the market and they treat it like it’s a $500 used car.
Both EA and Ubisoft got extremely lucky with R6 and Apex legends and they keep trying to make another golden goose instead of taking care of the one they have.
Ubisoft just has poor management in general right now. R6 and the Division are really solid games, the Division is basically dead though and R6 fluctuates.
It’s not that they are trying to make a new golden goose and not cultivating the other Both companies have this horrible habit of cheaping out and hiring kinda mediocre coders and devs, and just hiring 3000 of them to make up for it, to make a very ambitious and complex game, that is given an insane development period, less then the previous game that it’s meant to replace Its little wonder their “new golden goose” never works, because they just go about it in the most lazy and corporate way possible Then being EXTREMELY greedy with the popular game that’s already out, trying to milk it for every nickel and dime, allowing it to be unbalanced to do so, then having to over correct to make up for it after back lash You’d think after the 5th, 7th, 19th time that they would realize, THIS IS NOT WORKING And that they would try something else But no Still make insane demands on Devs that are usually fairly inexperienced, or are a diversity hire So most devs aren’t really competent, even with a bunch of games technically under their belt, due to not learning anything no matter where they go You can work on 10 games, but if you make the same mistakes on those 10 games, because your higher ups never show you that it is a mistake Then you never grow and become competent This is one of many reasons why games drop so unoptimized nowadays as well Foolish devs, poor planning, mismanagement
@@freshlymemed5680 The downfall of R6 began when the devs started focusing the game on pro league opinions. I still remember how it used to be. Literally look at videos of the game from Operation White Noise and earlier. The game literally looked better. Accurate lighting, awesome effects. Some pro player gets ratted out by a defender in a dimly lit corner? They started whining to the devs and the devs changed the whole lighting system to what it looks like rn which is absolutely horrid. The ONLY attacker that could self res was Zofia. Its easy. You down her, make sure to finish the kill. Some pro team lost a match because they forgot zofia could self res (its super rare that anyone pulled it off), and they started whining... Some dev decided to side with them and removed the ability. The list is endless. Little by little nerfing literally every aspect about the game, everything that could be used as an interesting strategy. To me the final nail in the coffin was when they destroyed ADS speed. The game literally feels slow as molasses and has become drone simulator due to it. Then, because people hated gunfights, theyd just drone and then nade from below. Solution? Remove the ability to cook nades lmfao. The devs are a joke, the original community left long ago, and the remaining community are a bunch of wannabe pros which whine about everything.
As somebody who religiously played both for years, Siege is horribly broken most of the time as it is on an outdated engine that hasn't seen love since 2011. The game becomes borderline unplayable after every major update for at least two weeks. That and it's constant and nonsensical balancing changes are alienating every generation of its playerbase. Apex has always had a target on its back as being the lazy copout EA made to avoid having to build a Titanfall 3, it's not unique enough anymore in the shooter space either to really make anyone want to play it. EA and Ubisoft are both going to go out of buisness in the next fifteen years, I would not be surprised if it takes even less time for the latter. They are very inefficient, dead companies walking, and they have no drive left to come up with something new or risk creating sound sequels. Battlefront II came back from the dead for EA after they spent almost a year of planned free expansion time fixing the damn game, and they cut its update time short, abandoned their servers, and openly denounced any intention to create a third game to investors. They tarnished that brand so bad they won't even bother.
It's honestly sad how far apex has fallen off and how much the higher-ups are refusing to make it better in any way. I genuinely do hope they change it soon, it needs it so bad
It's super sad, but at this point all of us have to start leaving and giving up on the game. Cause honestly this game can not in any shape or form be played competetively for a long session. And it's lost much of its former joy and glory. I keep wanting it to be "back" and keep getting dissapointed. Just find another shooter
Biggest game during the shutdown to being a shell of it's old self. Just sick n tired giving this game chances when they smack us in the face over n over again. See yall in fortnite, deadlock or marbels. APEX MADE ME GET ON MNK AFTER 15 YEARS TO PLAY NEW GAMES and thank God it did. Until I can solo q and just feel like the game itself had love n care again, farewell
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been telling others. I was always a casual player and adored all the characters and lore, it was so captivating and I was just in love with the way the game was challenging at times but I enjoyed the challenge. I wanted to learn map rotations, ult combos, learning new characters and kits. I loved the challenge to get better. It was PERFECT for casual players that still wanted to be challenged, even if it wasn’t in competitive. After playing for almost 3 years straight it just stopped being fun. Me and other casual players were pushed aside for the extremely competitive players. It sucked to reach top 5 or win ONE game, and getting thrown into a trio pred/master game. I was decent but I wanted to recently try again, and good lord it’s HORRIBLE trying to even make an effort at playing a “casual” round or two. I’m so sad of the stake it’s in..
you completely missed the point of this video. The "extremely competitive players" are getting screwed up JUST as badly, if not worse, because it threatens their entire income. They aren't your enemy. You can't expect people not to want to compete in a first person shooter game, and the issues that affect them also affect you.
I hadn't played for a year until yesterday and was shocked how pretty much nothing has changed. It's the exact reason I stopped playing in the first place.
I can see it from all the international content creators. Apex used to be huge in Japan but all of them shifted to Valo and LoL because Riot will actually support their games.
What are you talking about Riot canned the entire NA LCS? They support Val because it makes money right now. LoL isn't dying, casually, but the comp scene outside of Worlds is not supported.
@@seanjenkins5505 All they did was merge it into a league with CBLOL and LLA. It's not Riot's responsibility to prop up your venture capital esports team that can't even win 30% of your games.
@@lacalifas where did it seem like he’s crying? His comment was extremely chill he was making an observation, and one that isn’t controversial.. more foreign content creators, are playing games developed by Riot. Where is he crying? You look like the crybaby trying to defend a dying 6yr old game lol.
Apex legends is the game that motivated me to save up money to build my own pc and learn mouse and keyboard. Now I can’t even remember the last time I played it
Matchmaking was one of the biggest issues for me… I work 60+hrs a week, I have a few hours a week to put into gaming, and by 2022 I’d constantly get matched against lobbies with a bunch of people with like 20k kills on one character and it just stopped being fun. I was constantly getting matched against teams way better than me
Dude I got a new ps5 got xmas and had to get a brand new account. I had 2 easy games and every game after the champion squad had 2 players with 30k+ kills. I have less then 10 kills 😂😂😂 the matchmaking makes it impossible to enjoy.
@@justifano7046 on ONE character… yes. If it was 30k overall, who gives a shit, like you say it’s only 120-something kills per week consistently since launch, which is still fairly impressive to consistently play it every week. But it’s 20k/30k+ on ONE legend that’s fucking nuts! The chances of someone only ever playing as one character and never playing another is quite low, especially with how the Meta changed over time (Remember how early on Wraith was virtually impossible to hit? Or Pathfinders would yeet themselves all over the map?!) … whenever I’d look up those players after games they’d have 10k+ kills across multiple characters and that’s ridiculous for me, a guy who played a few hours on his day off on a Sunday, to be matched up against them
@@justifano7046yes it's hard if you have been playing everyday for multiple hours since launch, one game can take like 20 minutes and it's hard to get more than like 4 kills in a game with apex predators running around everywhere, so yes I think 100ish kills a day is a bit difficult considering if you get 5 kills per game and average 15 min per game that's still 300 ish minutes that's 5 hours a day plus you have to only have 5 kills or more, which is hard when the matchmaking is extremely unfair, yes theres the occasional 14 kill game but that's hard when there's people with 20 bombs everywhere, ik I'm just complaining and should "get better" but it's still frustrating especially when I'm rusty and can't wipe the rust off since I get destroyed instantly, like even my Smurf account is going up against high ranked 4k 20bomb people
He literally said everything so perfectly that I wish I could send this video directly to the head of EA. I have so much passion for Apex and I still play daily as a kill grinder but I've experienced so much burnt out these last 2 seasons that I've considered quitting sometimes. Sadly there just isn't a game like Apex for me
Same here, kill grinder too.. I play solo since Day ONE.. I promised myself to atleast do 10k on Crypto (currently at 9600+) I dont know what I will do after that. Since solo players arent advantaged in this game.. It's getting very complicated to have fun actually, with these teammates who are most of the times not up to your level or the enemies who are much stronger than your 2 dumb randoms. Letting you most of the times do a 1v3. Will continue to play, i guess.. Merry Christmas bro
after a taste of THE FINALS, my desire to play apex completely evaporated. i know they're different games, but god is it the breath of fresh air that i needed
@@mav9987Same. I will say the movement is not satisfactory personally and Apex wins over that regard imo.. but then The FINALS allows me to have fun with many modes and comboing gadgets/weapons that most games only offer partially but not all at once, and customizations of weapons and skins is extensive to be cool tbh. Even if The FINALS may have flaws with balancing, bugs, and admittedly the occasional blatant cheaters -- Apex has kinda already went down the worst on those aspects anyway, and it's not as impactful with this game.
Him talking about the matchmaking reminded me of why I stopped playing. I was tired of getting bent over by people who had no life outside of this game even though I had maybe 8-12ish hours in the game combined. I'm playing to relax and have a fair challenge, not to try to overcome a seemingly insurmountable one after a 10 hour shift.
i think its time to face reality and stick to chill mmo's and borderlands type games, u cant expect to compete in a pvp title if u can only play 10 hours a month
Same bro. I haven't played since early seasons but I still watched Watto and Sweet. Shame I lose their streams now even with the timezone diff on top of that.
All the best for you in the future, Wattos. Apex was just a step in your career. You as a person are much more. Perhaps EA will change their mind somehow at some point.
wouldnt keep our hopes up, EA aswell as Epic let surten games die even when they still have a huge player base they just leech for cash and let the games die
My story is so sad regarding Apex, I used to have a 4 member team and we all used to LOVE Apex Legends. The big problem was at the time, the freaking bugs, game was shutting down, servers were shit (loading the game etc), server lag, cheaters and so on. All these, were the key factor for us to slowly stop playing the game, since we reached to a point where we played 1 or 2 games and we were so tilted every time. At one point, 1 friend quit the game for ever, then the rest followed him. I didn't believe my eyes, since we all had passion for the game, i continued playing the game for like 4-5 months on my own, but later on i got so bored of it... It is actually REALLY sad for all of us.... "That was fun, sorry you died" *Panth's voice*
Same. 2 of my closest friends dont play anymore but I still do. I just love the movement and gun play in this game. But yeah server issues is a real pain!!!!
Been playing since preseason, before s1. I don't remember any issues with bugs or anything like that. It's always literally been, at least since s4 or so, matchmaking and cheaters. That's been the issues.
@@jdkhaos4983 yep, There was a time tho, that servers in EU where trash, super annoying to deal with, we are talking about server lag and loading issues for many months.
The matchmaking is what killed it for me. I played this game solo as someone with a very high KD and yet it matched me against über sweats with similar KDs in 3 stacks. The matchmaking system seems to have no regard for the fact 3 good players against 1 good player is not ‘fair’ matchmaking. Which led to the most frustrating gameplay experience imaginable. You would basically play for hours on end until you got that one lobby that was a bit easier. Which is ultimately an extremely toxic relationship to have with a game. You know you’re going to sit through 3 hours of horrible, sweaty, unfun gameplay, to then *possibly* be rewarded with one lobby where you have a chance to drop a high kill/damage game. And then you have to take that chance, and if you don’t… it’s another 3 hours of hell. I can’t believe I played as long as I did.
I’ve never really taken to this guy. Didn’t dislike him, just not my thing viewing-wise. But man, this video. Class, heart, passion, honesty, humility… I get why he is so appreciated by the community. Weird how he completely nails so many things in ways I wouldn’t have been able to articulate. Truly a bittersweet watch.
same, I don't really watch any video game content creators, especially competitive players that play in a way that I could never, but if anyone in charge of making Apex grow needs to see a voice from the community, I hope they see this
They’re in a pattern every 5 seasons they do a free/casual ranked season that breaks their game, starting with the first ranked season when you could still disconnect your internet and not lose rp. 5 seasons later they did the scan assist meta. 5 seasons later they swapped to 12-13 the first rat season(he states it being bad in the video). 5 seasons later we get LP system. 5 seasons later we get Medic mega buff and lowered RP costs.
@@reubenmcmurray4377Not true at all. Peak apex was season 3 where it was just right for casual and competitive everyone had fun playing apex then, I played season 0 to season 8 but just played again for the first time at the end of last season and it's by far the worst I've seen out of the thousands of hours I played.
apex during seasons 7 and 8-- covid, original olympus, king's canyon readded-- was genuinely the greatest battle royale game of all time. will never forget the experiences i had playing that game at that time.
That feeling it gave me, early 2019 was so incredible. The music theme while jumping down in kings canyon, man it gives me little chills thinking about it. I loved this game, one of the greatest games i've played. 2022 during quarantine, it was a life saver for so many people. All things come to an end, or change in ways that makes it lose connection on a personal level. The gameplay is still great, but over time the feeling changed. Wish i could re-live the first few months again.
I'm a very casual player who doesn't even play ranked and what you're saying is absolutely true. if the competitive players aren't happy with the game, I can't say the casuals have it much better either.
Because of what Hiswattson said. Apex is playing both sides. They removed arenas and made casuals mad. Then they are not fully committing to the competitive side. They can't make up their mind on who they want to make happy.
they dont know what they are doing tbh, rank is try harders and cheaters, you get paired with the most casual players in a really high competitive lobby, in pubs you get matched against noobs or bots, when they match you against your level its always higher as he said, they add and remove modes instead of keep them, solos, duos, trios and quads can be keep, fortnite have the 4, for rank they have the same modes, i played fortnite and is really fun in rank once you reach siver 1 you start to compete as in apex against good players, they add new modes and delete it as soon as they add it instead of keep them one season long or half split, original fortnite still a thing, original apex dissapear after two weeks, revival came some time and suddenly remove them, limited time events also come and go, i only play rank and i can tell you rank system is bad with all cheaters and try harders you get, some doesnt even bother in hide they are cheating, i can assuere you between those try harders there are cheaters too
I used to LOVE Arenas. I'm a good player, so I'm always better than my teammates. But in Arenas I could at least win no my own. With Arenas gone, the game is just miserable. The game INTENTIONALLY matches you with very bad players as teammates. It's a miserable experience.
@@Notthecitytheworld Arenas matchmaking was very bad too. I remember going for Win Streaks in Arenas, and the more wins I got, the worst teammates I got. I was literally level 200 getting Level ONE and Level FIVE teammates, being forced to lose. The game does not care about fun, it just Forces you to win, then lose, win then lose.
@@Notthecitytheworld Man as a new player I loved Arenas. It was a good gamemode to catapult you into BR if you wanted. And good for casual in general. They cared too much about "spreading their playerbase thin" that they straight up made that portion of the playerbase quit altogether (Like me). I never liked the BR and the 3rd 4th 5th partying BS.
I poured thousands of hours into Apex and then one day just stopped. I hated what the game had become. Luckily I found The Finals and it’s so refreshing have a dev team that actually cares about the game and are allowed to take care of it.
Damn i been playing apex since the 3rd day it dropped and i stopped playing it atleast a month ago😢 a game i been playing only since it dropped to now its sad
@@jrg3528I’ve been playing since release also. The game has massively changed over the years. I hung it up a couple years ago after I reached Diamond and just retired.
Dude, you've been tugging this line for so long and I really appreciate it. For us that really loved this game, we all hoped and believed it could reach even greater heights and it's beyond tragic that it seems those dreams will never be realized. You're a true G! Thanks man.
What an incredibly well-crafted video! I played Apex in the very beginning, and it was such a fun game back then. I wasn’t around for the major updates that apparently ruined it, but I can tell it declined over time. Thank you for putting so much effort into this. I have deep respect for creators who acknowledge the real supporters behind their journey and strive to do something for the community rather than just for themselves!
Already easily one of the best Apex state of the game vids by far. Doesn't care to throw in a bunch of random fillers, just gets right to the point and has proof and kept everyone engaged.
I used to absolutely adore this game. I played since season 1 with my friends in a fun, casual setting. I can't even get in nowadays without being steamrolled by two 3 stacks or having my teammates dc almost immediately upon being downed. I haven't played in months.
I also want to highlight something that nobody speaks of: *the lore!* As a day 1 player I agree all the technical problems this game have (audio, servers, cheaters, matchmaking etc.) But for me lore was the thing that kept my interest 4 full years. A universe (Titanfall) with unlimited potential, untold stories of it unraveled with all the trailers we get, comics, in-game communication of the legends (when they thank each other etc.), co-op story mode in season 5, all the in-game teasers we had for the next season... list goes on. Now they don't even try to do something with it and this was my final branch to hold on to this game. Idk maybe if EA/Respawn makes a TV series for this universe I'd still follow but I guess *playing* in this universe is finished for me.
The lore is dumb it’s just random stories with random characters lol have you never played a game that has a legitimate story? Or watched a movie? Or read the f***** Foot Book as a kid? 💀
The lore died after they started adding plot holes, annoying characters and a fkn love triangle arc? It’s like they don’t care. But I’ll tell u when they did care. In the pathfinder lore book some things were confirmed, specifically about wraith and wattson. It explains labs and the shattered forest on kings canyon. Lore for a minor location that has not been in the game for over a year at that point. But the biggest clue to how they cared. In the wraith part it reveals her real name. Reneé Hope Blasey. Insignificant right? Wrong! In the critically acclaimed mission in titanfall 2 effect and cause there are several audio logs scattered around the level, hidden Easter eggs that do nothing except expand the lore. One of them has a recurring character, Dr Jefferson Boyle who in his last log says the line “see you soon Hope”, capital H is significant as it indicates a name. This takes place on the Planet Typhon that houses no civilians, strictly military. Wraith was born on Typhon so she has to be the daughter of military or research personel. You see where I’m going either this. They had the care to tie a major character in apex to a minor character in titanfall 2 who is only present in Easter egg audio logs to flesh out the lore. That’s how much they used to care. Not anymore.
Heartfelt near the end. Dont be to hard on yourself, you got a chance and took it firmly with both hands. You can be proud of that. Hope to see you succeed in anything you put your mind to.
Not everything needs to last forever. Apex is the only live service game i feel i got absolutely EVERYTHING out of that i wanted. First Battle Royale experience, hit Diamond 3x in a row and Plat twice. Enjoyed it thoroughly with friends and eventually we all moved on to other games. It's done. Apex was awesome and those fun times will remain in my memory to be cherished for what they are.
All the best in the future dude. I quit Apex a while back but your presence was certainly felt in the community and youve made your mark. Onto the next
season 13 split 1 was so great, and then it all went downfall. it was so inspiring to me to watch pro tournaments in like season 4 and how stacked it was with like 15 teams on last circles, and season 13 split 1 gave me that experience like in those pro matches, but in gold lobbies. it was such a peak experience which I wouldn't get otherwise, I loved it immensely
This was honestly broken down utterly beautifully. When I load up alone after a few days it’s like fighting literal robots. And then once I win. I get off cause I know what’s about to happen. I find faide and get put in a montage without my consent
Literally this message too. I quit several seasons ago, and just...the predictability on Apex Legends is so obvious. Like I get a SINGLE lucky win with 10+ kills and teammates that seem to keep up with me, then... Instead of celebrating I go "Ah...cool, time to be forced against every pro squad on earth to make sure I lose. Oh yeah, and the people who just downloaded the game being my teammates." Because it makes a totally fair fight. Like, when it's so obviously rigged that I don't get excited about a win, something is wrong with the matchmaking. So I just, had enough of Apex. No way I'm gonna play a game dragging me around like a sack of shit anymore.
@@akirajkr Bro I know this is gonna sound funny bringing this game up here, but Splatoon 3 actually does the EXACT same shit. And it's why I quit playing that game too. Just like Apex, amazing movement and gunplay with a super high skill ceiling, but ruined by the matchmaking. You can tell within the first 2 minutes if you're gonna win or not because the matchmaking is so obvious with when the game is trying to force you to lose, it'll put absolute beginners on your team and then ontop of that match you against a team where their skill level is actually consistent across their stack ontop of being better than your skill level to begin with. One day I'm on a win streak and put up against people who have no idea how to play and wipe the floor with them match after match, the next day I'm up against teams that wipe the floor with _me_ instead and get maybe 2-3 wins the WHOLE day if I'm lucky. Sometimes the matches are actually balanced and the game is so damn fun when they are, but those are literally a rare occurrence. Doesn't help that a lot of people who are near the skill ceiling claim there's nothing wrong with it, MFs literally will tell you to watch you replays and study your gameplay just to keep up in the CASUAL mode. Like nah bro, I ain't doing allat just to overcome the busted ass matchmaking either matching me against gods or noobs. Just give me consistent matches against people of a similar skill level.
Thank you Wattson for this. I usually can't sit through videos of gamers talk for too long cause of the lack of maturity but I love how far you've come as a person, really appreciate you being so expressive about this situation and making a video about this and also love what you did for fans and most importantly your family.
It’s so tragic watching a game with this much potential die to neglect. When the people who’ve loved this game to death for years start pointing out that it’s hitting rock bottom, you know it’s likely too late. It could have been so much greater, it’s sad to see it go.
Hit the nail right on the head with this one, maybe one day Apex will recover. Been feeling the exact same for a couple years now, seeing more and more creators/streamers leave Apex has me really thinking it might be time for me as well. Wishing you success in anything you decide to do brother 🖤

the eomm thing is super true because i was moving for about the past month and couldnt use my computer. Today I finally set it up and when i loaded in i was getting people who were worse than the bots in bot royale even though i have reached diamond, have 13k kills on maggie and 25k career kills and nearly a 3kd
its also very funny that whenever i researched EOMM and stuff, people are so in denial saying all the time "git gud" and stuff its embarrassing, to a point i actually thought im going insane. I love that wattson finally pointed it out, and it makes perfect sense to me too why i am progressively getting worse teammates and better enemies after couple of games...
EOMM is ironically the only point he's factually incorrect about. At best, he's using the wrong term to critique what he doesn't like about the matchmaking which don't get me wrong, I agree isn't good, but isn't a unique problem to apex. Essentially, he's just describing regular matchmaking decay a ton of games use. There's no proof EOMM is implemented in Apex because the it was only proven to work in a 1v1 scenario. Saying "because EA patented it" is not proof. EA probably has dozens of patents that aren't implemented in every single of their game.

My first grind first split from p1 to master it was 3/25 preds a game and I got a terrible squad.. the matching making is actually better on pc for ranked I got pc buddies and there is less preds in diamond games then there is on consoles in my experience which is crazy. First season ever its easier to grind ranked in pc lobbies because there isnt 25 roller preds on your nuts. I try to take a break to play pubs literally masters and preds every single pubs game 100k kills players etc I firmly believed I been shadow banned in pubs I play daily sometimes 10 hours per day im a disabled veteran with nothing to do. Got 13000kills 5 lifetime 4k games on horizon and every single game I play whether pubs or ranked is decked with the sweatiest people. I’ve gotten used to it and usually don’t mind but there is days I’m not hittin those shots and I get completely steam rolled in any game mode I play. EOMM exists and I firmly believe it exists in ranked to some degree because I get the worst teamates in the lobby against preds. It’s so bad I only play ranked now duo q minimum because like wattson said something is broken
i cant help but respect his opinion when he lays it out so concisely. He clearly has a lot of passion for this game and I wish him and the game good luck in the upcoming year
I've been an Apex player since day 1, no cap. It has been an important game with long gaming nights with friends, and intense comp scene throught the year. It's so sad having this indifference.
Happy you were able to make the most of this game. Thank you for speaking up, hope apex can live for a few more years but it’s like you said EOMM is horrible and if upper management is suppressing the people who are passionate about this game then it’s going to stay stale, its sad I really love this game still
Man, I remember playing the hell out of this game during COVID with my friends, sadly those days will never come back. Thanks for this amazing video, you really covered everything.
2:25 - I have said this about EOMM/SBMM for literally YEARS at this point. People keep gaslighting me saying that if I am good enough I will eventually play with people at my level. While this might be true statistically speaking over thousands of games, the average experience is just miserable and is the sole reason why I no longer play Apex Legends.
cant wait to see where to content and Channel goes. Like many have said Apex was just one step in your carrier. You still have so many supporters and i look forward to the next steps. Thank you! i really hope EA listens for once and makes a change or anything more than (More battle pass changes)
Hey, big ups Wattson. I always appreciated what you do, providing content for a community that never has enough of it. Here's hoping something comes of this and we all get to enjoy apex again.
THANK YOU. I feel so validated hearing you bring up EOMM. People thought I was crazy and insisted the game had SBMM. I had the exact same experience as you. Drop in and die to sweats repeatedly or have a really good start then eventually get rolled by that one pro squad, but after a while I'd suddenly get that one match where enemies couldn't hit the wide side of a barn and my squad would clean house. I'd either carry or get carried, but straight away the match after that I'm getting beamed from 500m away and ofc they have all the sweaty badges. It sucks to see how low the game has fallen, I was addicted to it and back when everyone was new it was a fun learning experience. I remember watching Shroud and I strived to be a fraction as good as he was, and it started to pay off, my movement got better, my aim improved, I was able to take fights better and it just felt good, but all that was about to end. As the seasons went on I felt matchmaking getting worse and worse. I could no longer get my friends to play, so I tried flying solo, but it eventually got on my nerves and I threw in the towel. All the talk about the changes they made to matchmaking was a load of bull. I downloaded the game again for the launch event and good ol' King's Canyon but for me there was no joy in that, it was too little too late. I've already moved on to other shooters, but I'll always keep the fond memories and friends I made along the way.
I may be a little late there but thats my experience too. Wanted to get better and got better movement, aim ... But it never felt like that. I just stopped playing after around 500 hours.
@josukehere3015 because cheaters don't affect 90%+ of the playerbase. If you're on console especially you've probably never experienced them besides the controller mods people used to do, and on PC for the most part you won't have that problem unless you're in upper tiers of ranked, which most players aren't. So the cheater may have caused some content creators and ultra competitive players to leave, it is not a major concern for the mass exodus
@@chriselkins6771 what do you mean cheaters don’t affect 90% of player base ? That’s a bold statement 😂 have you ever played Diamond-Pred lobbies and had a 6-9 man pred stack roll thru your team ? This happened to me in the beginning of the season split a handful of times and I even had random teammates continuously telling me that they’re always crossing paths with a 6 man and people using Cronus , I played on consoles btw.
As much as I love Apex; its gameplay, lore, the friendships I’ve made and strengthened through it over the years, etc., it has gotten harder and harder to defend it. Thanks for further explaining and expanding upon the BS!
Great informational video! I'm quite bummed myself to see the decline within Apex Legends. I've played since launch on console till cross platform was released. I ended up losing all my clips on console and ever since it has been rough to play the game again since I lost so many memories of when I enjoyed the Apex most. "Sometimes you just had to enjoy it while it lasts and cherish it when it's gone."
I’ve never heard of you but you did a great job articulating the many issues with Apex. I also learned something - EOMM. I always suspected something like that was going on. I have played since season 2 or 3, but not continuously. Once I took a year long break. There have been other breaks along the way. Now I understand why I had so much success at each return. The biggest issue I always run into is that after the first taste of success and reasonable competition, I always end up playing against people that are waaaayyyy above my skill level. As I write this, I have t played since before Thanksgiving. It’s just too frustrating.
Apex introduced me to so many characters And people I’ve never met before i consider good friends, Very positive experience And the roll out was so special😇 The community is cool too love all your artwork They really wasted our love
520k views in just 2 days is wild. Goes to show that people care about Apex just don't care about playing it. I myself quit 4-5 months ago for many reason you pointed out. Closest thing to a "fun mode"/casual mode we've got was Revival. With that mode, the game for once didn't feel like a chore where you are obliterated by hand-holders while given a little goobers by the game. Matchmaking, bad servers, poor unpredictable management decisions, causing more "stress" than what a video game is supposed to be - a good fun time to relax. Nothing "relaxing" about Apex.
My buddy and I used to play this game everyday after work and on weekends. We liked the competitiveness, but also liked the casual side to it. The problem was the inconsistencies of matchmaking which basically had us quit. My buddy is better than me and whenever I'd watch him play BR or Arenas, he would always get the noobs, player who haven't played in months, or lower skilled players. He would always have to carry and even he couldn't keep it up. It has gotten to the point where we play one game and do pretty good, but then the next hour or two, get rolled. I have had a hard day at work. Don't need to hop on a game and not have fun and feel remotely competitive. I'm good.
I started watching Twitch when Warzone was huge. After they nuked Verdansk, I like many casual and pro gamers switched to Apex. You were one of the first Apex streamers I found on Twitch (I think you played with Keon), and I couldn't figure out why you had so few viewers. Fast forward a year... I'll never forget watching you absolutely dog walk the lobbies at your first ALGS. Cheers man, congrats on everything you've accomplished with Apex.
As a maximum gold player, (I don’t play ranked) I absolutely love constantly dying to 3 stack preds every. single. game. That’s why the game has gone to shit. The matchmaking is at an all time low to the point where I can’t even have fun playing casually, and I have to try my ass off to get a single kill.
@@yahootube90 Yes, they ignored matchmaking issues for way too long and now they can't reverse course with how many people have quit. You could have the best matchmaking in the whole world and it won't have enough players to work with now.
@@yahootube90 It's not even that. Even 2 years ago It seemed like if you dare to have a kd above 1.1 you just get screwed. My lobbies were fine but the second I joined my friend with a 1.3 kd all of a sudden it was apex pred simulator.
They sacrificed the experience of the major player-base just so the 3 stack predators / pros can queue into games 5 minutes faster. Other competitive games like LoL/OW/MR has longer queue time for high elo ranks than Apex. Really shows how Apex is ruining the experience of 30-50 gold/plat players just for that 3-10 3 stack predators can queue faster
i started playing the game in season 8 and i instantly became hooked. seeing what the game has become since then is genuinely depressing. knowing something so great is in arms reach for EA/Respawn but they refuse to do anything besides let the game die sucks. no other games provides what apex does in regards to feel and just gameplay overall and seeing them still put in collection events over new modes or actual content hurts :/
Imagine joining in season 1 when every player was bad and every gun was good if not too good. You could drop 10 kill games if you put in the effort and had the right kit, probably even scoring 2k damage or even racking close to 4k. Following the game through thick and thin with the old versions of hammer and disruptor where they'd practically kill you instantly, finding crypto when exploring the wraith labs, opening vaults and later setting up sturdy to near impenetrable defenses in them and getting to ride the fkn train before it was removed. The respawning, hop-ups, character abilities, the ping system and even some other stuff were things you saw in no other BR and is largely why people play the game for as long as they did.
Man I dropped a comment like most … before watching the full video … I humbled myself when I heard him saying his accolades to listen to his perspective. The first point is so true. No focus. The game turned me from a casual to a more comp player wanting to get better then took a shift where they aimed to lower the skill gap I worked hard to create
This video really nails it. S0 player here, used to have 20+ friends online but the last year it’s been maybe 1 if any. I’ve solo’s to Master around 7 times and I kinda stopped playing. This is the first season I didn’t finish the battlepass I bought. The grind became worse, and having to carry low skill teammates for what seems like forever just to get into my own skill bracket for the last week or two AND having to deal with cheaters just sucked away all the fun. It became a chore, and I got angry every time I played the game. It’s criminal what they’ve done to this game in the name of greed.
Poured 3k hours into Apex on Steam alone (played on and off but I started pretty early) and I don't even remember when the game felt fun to play. The matchmaking used to be pretty equal and my teammates knew what they were doing. Now, it's either just bots with Chinese names dealing 200 damage, high ego low skill players who should be at least 2 tiers below mine, or smurfs who quit/afk as soon as they see their teammate's ranks. It's been almost a year since I last played and I don't miss it one bit tbh
What an absolute legend. Hearing these things be articulated in such an easy to understand way feels healthy. Your experience makes the perspective extremely valuable to the point of actually feeling like some of these things are no longer placebo for the community. Thanks for the time it took to make this, the strength it took to power through the emotional moments & overall just for being YOU. Keep gaming, we behind you bro.
Damn I just watched the full video. Pretty accurate , just good stuff. Now kinda sad like damn. To hear a top guy confirm the trend I foreseen is tough. Time to go crazy
Gaming merchant was terrible , had awful advice and was motivated by revenue and ads (plenty of sponsored games) bad at the game and just generally didn’t provide anything for apex
@@TurboG40He wasn't good of a player (but better than the average player). But you cant lie and say he didnt have the info lol. He was the go to guy for apex information before Bobz/Thordan smash. I agree with everything else though.
@brutallyhonest-k8iyeah you have no idea what you’re talking about casual. Apex is the most perfect shooter we’ve ever had. The only reason this game has survived 5 straight years was of EA sabotage is the base game, underneath everything IS the best we’ve ever seen
If you think the game would have 0 player base without macros, you probably think everyone better than you is hacking. Corporate greed killed the game. It really is as simple as that. Even If you want to zoom in on EOMM or prioritizing overpriced cosmetics over content, it still boils down to that
Well said. Very good arguments on a longitudinal study. Prime example of not having money being the driving factor for creativity. Tends to kill the love of creation. Hope they find their passion again❤️.
2:53 I am a very casual player who has 10k+ kills on Loba I leave the game for about a month and come back and pubs is extremely too easy to the point it’s unplayable. This is very true
@Ttvmatglc Long time players easily rack up thousands of kills, even when playing casually. What if hes been playing for years? Casual doesnt mean NEW. Edit: or maybe hes just too good for pubs.
eh, whatever match making system is used, its always complained about. Its just noise and an excuse people use for why games arent fun. Compalin when its eomm, skill-based, or none.
I’d rather sbmm as it isn’t abusable. Everyone is in their skill bracket. With EOMM, well that breaks once you know it’s there. All you have to do is throw 20 games and you’ll get a bot lobby.
@@stcosyemthat’s not entirely true. It’s been a growing burden is fps games for the last 5-10 yrs. It’s an excuse but it also has some backing. We havnt seen many new releases with low attention to matchmaking besides xdefiant and tbh. That was probably the best part of that game.
I stopped playing last season and this season has been skipped as well. I went ahead and finished Baldurs Gate 3, Doom Eternal and Veilguard in the past few months and I've found my overall mood has gotten so much better. I come home from work to have a good time, not to stress about my rank or my skill.
Me and my countless casual friends were never alienated in season 13. As a casual all we care about is fun gameplay and apex still has that. I keep trying other games from time to time but nothing compares to Apex when it comes to the core gameplay loop. However, I never ever ever play this game solo as it is the most frustrating thing to do in all of gaming. I can understand solo players' frustration. This game is a lot of fun but only when you have a full squad of friends to play with. If they somehow make solo Q'ing fun, this game will thrive but unfortunately it is a really hard problem as it really depends on the community mindset. It's basically the same problem as battlefield's PTFO which can be made better but never completely solved with random players.
I love Apex Legends and I have to agree, I constantly get put in lobbies with people I’m way better than. I hope they fix this game because it truly is my favorite
I’m a S1 player that left and then came back to the game again later, the cheaters and unfairness with wall hacks and aimbot is the sole reason why I left again. I should mention I have to play in Singapore or Tokyo servers as I’m OCE too. Cheaters are rampant on those servers. The Australian apex community died years ago. I don’t care about the monetisation or collection events, I don’t care about new characters or guns, I’d happily support and play the game as it is, if it was fair and they looked after their players that do play fair.
Man you hit the nail on the head with the Skyrim comparison right off the bat. When I boot up Skyrim again (which I did this year!) I know how it's gonna go. I know that I can do certain things to make it easier, harder, more fun, more interesting, I can dictate the way the game will go because I've put so many hours in. With Apex you are at its whim. You lose if the game wants you to lose, unless you absolutely sweat your balls off and also get lucky and also are playing with people as good or better. So, basically, you lose when the game wants you to lose. This powerlessness made me say "okay, well, if you want to run the whole show, then run it yourself." When you realize the payoff for hard work is more hard work, you stop working. Why jump into a bottomless pit?
Man this was lowkey inspiring , I feel bro pain , let’s turn it around. Don’t be a peace of shit. Spread love go crazy and get dubs. The game is so dope man it’s the people. Maybe they need a ranked duos or something to manage expectations kuz relying and two RANDOM humans is toxic
I may play from time to time, but I currently have the game uninstalled. I will continue uploading challenge runs of various games and streaming just not on Apex. Thank you all for supporting me over the years I love you all
love ya bro. i'll be watching no matter the game homie. Merry Christmas.
Start streaming halo infinite. Get back to your roots. Master chief needs some new faces and you're that guy

I remember playing apex so much during quarantine back in 2020 it was so fun back then

"Why would anyone want to play Winter Express, while Snoop Dogg is having a concert on Fortnite?" what a quote.
cuz it’s not the same shi😭😭
i love winter express, only thing i like about apex
This.. out of the firepan and into the flame.. they respawned but spawned in EA studios
Highly developed industry is like this. Suits prioritize "business models" over experienced workers, because "models" can be streamlined and manipulated, gaming veterans can't.
Not a lot of people know the history of Respawn. 🤝 fellow historian
100k on 1 legend because they only play 1 legend

I had a similar experience where i solo Q'd in with a cheater and found his YT page of him cheating his face off.

It’s not that they are trying to make a new golden goose and not cultivating the other
Both companies have this horrible habit of cheaping out and hiring kinda mediocre coders and devs, and just hiring 3000 of them to make up for it, to make a very ambitious and complex game, that is given an insane development period, less then the previous game that it’s meant to replace
Its little wonder their “new golden goose” never works, because they just go about it in the most lazy and corporate way possible
Then being EXTREMELY greedy with the popular game that’s already out, trying to milk it for every nickel and dime, allowing it to be unbalanced to do so, then having to over correct to make up for it after back lash
You’d think after the 5th, 7th, 19th time that they would realize, THIS IS NOT WORKING
And that they would try something else
But no
Still make insane demands on Devs that are usually fairly inexperienced, or are a diversity hire
So most devs aren’t really competent, even with a bunch of games technically under their belt, due to not learning anything no matter where they go
You can work on 10 games, but if you make the same mistakes on those 10 games, because your higher ups never show you that it is a mistake
Then you never grow and become competent
This is one of many reasons why games drop so unoptimized nowadays as well
Foolish devs, poor planning, mismanagement
Yeah Ubisoft is paying the price, as they should I want to see that company gone.
It really is sad because at it’s core mechanically it’s the best easily imo
It's super sad, but at this point all of us have to start leaving and giving up on the game. Cause honestly this game can not in any shape or form be played competetively for a long session. And it's lost much of its former joy and glory. I keep wanting it to be "back" and keep getting dissapointed. Just find another shooter
They are focused on apex 2..
EA ruins every game they touch

I can see it from all the international content creators. Apex used to be huge in Japan but all of them shifted to Valo and LoL because Riot will actually support their games.
It's just a game- stop crying. But I don't like we have to update it every 2 months. Hate that

I was constantly getting matched against teams way better than me
Same 😢
Dude I got a new ps5 got xmas and had to get a brand new account. I had 2 easy games and every game after the champion squad had 2 players with 30k+ kills. I have less then 10 kills 😂😂😂 the matchmaking makes it impossible to enjoy.
That's 128 kills per week on a character since launch
Is that a lot?

Theh dont care, wont listen. I know a dev. Its true

Nothing will change as long as the name is EA, they are the worst game company, and that's a fact.

He's a true scholar of the game
They’re in a pattern every 5 seasons they do a free/casual ranked season that breaks their game, starting with the first ranked season when you could still disconnect your internet and not lose rp. 5 seasons later they did the scan assist meta. 5 seasons later they swapped to 12-13 the first rat season(he states it being bad in the video). 5 seasons later we get LP system. 5 seasons later we get Medic mega buff and lowered RP costs.
Thats a very interesting theory that i personally havent heard yet. Has Respawn ever officially mentioned this or just something you picked up on?
That’s a good Theory💯

@@Notthecitytheworld Man as a new player I loved Arenas. It was a good gamemode to catapult you into BR if you wanted. And good for casual in general. They cared too much about "spreading their playerbase thin" that they straight up made that portion of the playerbase quit altogether (Like me).

Same here bro. The lore went downhill after season 19 (Conduit season)
The lore used to be awesome, but they kept thinning it out, until it totally disappeared.
Not anymore.
no one cares about he soap opera lore. id say it damaged the game.
Heartfelt near the end. Dont be to hard on yourself, you got a chance and took it firmly with both hands. You can be proud of that. Hope to see you succeed in anything you put your mind to.

I showed my buddy apex 2 years ago and he hasnt stoppped playing since. Glad he liked it. I miss the old days

its also very funny that whenever i researched EOMM and stuff, people are so in denial saying all the time "git gud" and stuff its embarrassing, to a point i actually thought im going insane.
The SBMM I guess was always going to be the friends we made along the way
Ok
I may be a little late there but thats my experience too. Wanted to get better and got better movement, aim ... But it never felt like that. I just stopped playing after around 500 hours.

Why no one talk about cheaters
@@thebigboss1xeverybody who plays know cheaters have always been a problem for apex but not sure why he didn’t mentioned that in his video ?
@josukehere3015 because cheaters don't affect 90%+ of the playerbase. If you're on console especially you've probably never experienced them besides the controller mods people used to do, and on PC for the most part you won't have that problem unless you're in upper tiers of ranked, which most players aren't. So the cheater may have caused some content creators and ultra competitive players to leave, it is not a major concern for the mass exodus

I'm good.
This gives me flashbacks to when Voyboy talked about the state of League like 7 years ago
Yeah, it's a snowball effect. The more people leave, the worse it gets, causing more people to leave.
So true.
Wish ya the best dude! We’ve all come to this same conclusion it appears😂❤
I used to watch your videos your the goat😢
I would quit playing too if I was a masters player still after playing since season 0
@ ok buddy, If you need me to carry you out of gold you can just ask, don’t need to be obtuse.
Thank you for your honestly. I feel like a lot of streamers out there say “my lobbies aren’t full of bots I’m just good” like no, they’re full of bots
From Aceu, Zeus, Gamingmerchant, Hiswattson, ect.
Everyone left.
Gaming merchant was terrible , had awful advice and was motivated by revenue and ads (plenty of sponsored games) bad at the game and just generally didn’t provide anything for apex
Gg
@@TurboG40He wasn't good of a player (but better than the average player). But you cant lie and say he didnt have the info lol. He was the go to guy for apex information before Bobz/Thordan smash.
I agree with everything else though.
game was killed by EA
@brutallyhonest-k8iyeah you have no idea what you’re talking about casual. Apex is the most perfect shooter we’ve ever had. The only reason this game has survived 5 straight years was of EA sabotage is the base game, underneath everything IS the best we’ve ever seen
If you think the game would have 0 player base without macros, you probably think everyone better than you is hacking.
Corporate greed killed the game. It really is as simple as that. Even If you want to zoom in on EOMM or prioritizing overpriced cosmetics over content, it still boils down to that
@brutallyhonest-k8ithere’s not that many people cheating lol you’re delusional man
@brutallyhonest-k8imaybe 20% of the player base is cheating dude, you’re so delusional
@@davidrudd4869 You would be right if you have said %20 of the player base is "not" cheating
10k kills and casual?
@Ttvmatglc Long time players easily rack up thousands of kills, even when playing casually.
What if hes been playing for years? Casual doesnt mean NEW.
Edit: or maybe hes just too good for pubs.
@ I started season 7 it has been years of solo q play
My channel is ApexRookie1 you can see I have some good clips but nothing like a pro level player
I was casual with 20k kills on Caustic in season 10. Lol@Ttvmatglc
Thanks for stepping up and saying what needs to be said.
when apex is good its absolutely god tier. with that being said ive only been playing fortnite ballistic and rivals the last week or two
there will never be another era like prime apex
Engagment optimized matchmaking is a new one to me. Yikes, I bet they tested it on mice first in the EA secret lair.
eh, whatever match making system is used, its always complained about.
They have been using EOMM since season 7. Problem is that EA denies it and claims to use SBMM. Of course average apex players just believed them.
@@stcosyemthat’s why the game sucks.
I stopped playing last season and this season has been skipped as well. I went ahead and finished Baldurs Gate 3, Doom Eternal and Veilguard in the past few months and I've found my overall mood has gotten so much better. I come home from work to have a good time, not to stress about my rank or my skill.
Gaaaaayyyyyyyy comment

Finally somone that talks about EOMM! EOMM is the main reason I don't play apex or cod anymore.
Ive been here longer then your apex career, I'll be here after. Good luck brother man.
No matter the game, we all fam 😅 I'm here till the end ❤
a real captain sinks with his ship.
This powerlessness made me say "okay, well, if you want to run the whole show, then run it yourself."
When you realize the payoff for hard work is more hard work, you stop working. Why jump into a bottomless pit?
yeah the same thing is on league of legends :D / they want you to loose so you wont climb etc.
The CEO of EA needs to see this but we all know all he cares about exploitation/monetization. Everything in this video is 100% true.
