I am a little late on this, but seeing the reaction was priceless. Especially watching Bosman throughout the video, he looked like a kid that was given the greatest gift on Earth. :)

Am I the only one who actually liked the look of it all? Including all the humans? I love the contrast between this cartoony Mario and these sorta realistic if not bland Humans. It's also one of the FEW things i liked about Sonic 06.
Honestly I think some people had the negative reaction purely because it reminded them of Sonic '06, as if it's entirely impossible for Sonic '06 to have done anything positive.
The city stuff clearly wasn't trying to be "serious" either, it looked quirky as fuck and I love it.
i am DEEPLY interested in color palette of video games. although this is not the most colorful mario game (that title belongs to yoshi's island) it is one of the best looking. however i want to see a mario game int the style of wind waker or skyward sword or even yoshi's new island. i want to make a video series on color palettes but i'm in the planning stages so i going to start summer with 3 games.....sunshine,wind waker, and sonic mania. as for 06 i LOVE that game......it was my first xbox 360 game and it was so fun. and the gliches were annoying but sometimes fun to do. however the color palette was BAD.

I love how theres no explanation needed and they skip right to the gameplay and let the consumer think for themselves instead of what the COD commercials do and just have cinematic edits with reviews for the entire time.

Compare this to Kinda Funny's reaction. I'm not attacking the guys at KF, I love a lot of their content, but it's clear after tonight that they just don't have the passion anymore. The only words they uttered during this reveal were "There he is", with that sense of fake enthusiasm, and then Colin bitched about the city hub. They just don't seem to care anymore.
