Do yall agree? Date night car is the Ferrari and the track car is the Z06? I dunno…… my Z96 looked pretty good under the lights. Let me know in the comments below!
@7:54 friendly correction. That is a 488 Pista. Basically a limited number track weapon version of the 488GTB you drove. Also, the 488 and Pista and all Ferraris after 2009 for that matter come stock with carbon ceramic brakes (CCB). The 488/Pista cars have the same brake system as the LaFerrari Hypercar and thus the rear brakes modulate heavy in corners for stability control and are VERY harsh on the CCB's so most track rats and places like this swap out the $30,000 set of CCB's and store them for sale with the car later and install steel brake sets for hard use and affordable replacement. As for the Pista, it's regarded as one of the last great Ferrari cars before the Hybrid BS. The 458 Speciale as well. At the end of every model run, Ferrari honors each model with a limited number release of a "kitchen sink" version of the car, they throw everything at it and send it off farewell as a new model will replace it. They have more aero, more power, more carbon, stripped interior, race car for the road stuff. I own a 488GTB but the Pista is a dream car for me! One day! A decent spec 488GTB is currently trading hands at $250K-$270K used right now. A 488 Pista is over $500K all day used. So basically double the cost for a higher power, better looking, better sounding and limited number version. Dream car. EDIT: Also the instructor was referring to the 296GTB parked to the left of the Pista. It's one of the newest Ferrari models. It's a smaller frame, TTV6 with hybrid boost. I've driven a couple and the best I can say is, it feels like a 900HP S2000 that handles like a racecar. It doesn't sound too bad either for being a forced induction V6 since Ferrari utilized their V12 architecture for the block angle and intake plenums. It sounds like a mini screaming V12 and even better with aftermarket exhaust. They are currently trading hands for $400K+
I own a 488GTB. It needs a race exhaust to open up the sound. I installed a inconel (higher pitch and stronger than Ti) X pipe on mine and it REALLY made a difference. I also track it and the C8 Z06 is a great car with a great PFC high revving engine but at the end of the day I had Lamborghini's and Ferrari's on my wall as a kid, not a Vette. As good as the Vette is, it just doesn't get me excited when I walk out to stare at a piece of art in the garage and then go rip some corners for some smiles per gallon therapy. To each their own!
I had F40 , TR and Countach on my wall. I also had the new generation corvette as well at the time. The post read for the vette, " life begins at 150mph". Ill be honest, i have ferrari's and had lambos. I still have my corvettes and my two ferraris. If you want to talk about 80's and 90's ferraris you'll have my attention when it comes to looks but current day? They rounded them all. Excluding the original 458 , it all is blended now. SF90 is not exciting and doesn't remind me of a hypercar or exotic honestly. The 296 has no flare and is boring yet amazing performance that almost rivals the sf90. 488 , nice , but muffled and really was put into the shadows once the 720 and huracan took the stage. La Ferrari is what their top of the line exotic should look like and perform. 288, F40, F50, Enzo, La Ferrari. Look at the two F cars and the enzo.. insane looks and were tops in their time. Same with La Ferrari. All the cars i had on my wall, i have or had in my garage and pound for pound, nothing touches a vette. Dont care, from C4 zr1 to C5 z06 to C6 z06 and zr1, C7 z06 and Zr1 and not the C8. You have a 488, which is a great car but look at that you have done to it . I also was just checking on current price and depending on year (and not including the pista or some heavy modified version) but they are at or below msrp (depending on year). First person really that i heard say , " look at corvette doesnt excite me". Hmm, we all have our preferences but that is the first time ive heard that about the C8 z06. Im unbiased . From TR's , Murc, every year z06 and zr1, they are all forms of art. I just look at the generations of the 4xx for ferrari "after" the 458 and they dont excite me. They are carbon copies . Even the F8 looks like the 488 with subtle changes. 296 amazing but boring and same with SF90 which has been getting sold and drivers opting to go to other brands when it comes to the top of the company. Watch any of the main youtube channels.
@@Randmaples thank you Ben! Wait until you see the Ron Fellows footage! It’s so amazing. You should join us next time we go! You would LOVE IT!! And I would love to have you there!

Exotics Racing is a lot of fun. I've been to the Speed Vegas location 3 times now. In 22 with friends i drove a Z51. Best lap was a 1:04.4. Last year after my Ron Fellows new Corvette Owners school I drove the Z51 again 😁 Best lap after some professional training was 1:01.3. Ron Fellows was great. Certainly improved my driving. I highly recommend Ron Fellows for anyone who buys a new Corvette. About 2 weeks ago I drove the same Z06. Amazing experience and amazing car. I managed a 58.1 in the Z06. Next time I go to Exotics, I think that I am going to try a P car.

I did Ron Fellows in the C8 Z06 and did Exotics Racing a few years back and took out a 570S and 488. Yes, hands down Ron Fellows is 1000% better. Man that 2 days was an absolute blast. It definitely feels like Exotics Racing instructors want you to drive fast, but at the end of the day they are protecting their cars and don't want to encourage you much. Ron Fellows wants to see you squeeze every ounce of performance out of that Z06 and they will try their best to make sure you do.
@@dbmracing2019 Hey quick question, did Exotics racing change their track layout recently or something? I just checked back at mine and my wifes laps and I ran a 55.8 and even my wife (with zero high performance driving experience) ran a 59 second lap.
