I had not heard of Weddington prior to your videos. And it’s outside of Charlotte. The properties are massive and near all the happenings. Shocked to hear the prices are $1 to $2 million considering all the amenities and lot sizes. Luxury homes indeed! 4200 sq feet is idea 👍🏽

Hi Valerie 😁 Weddington, truly is the hidden gem on the southern reaches of the Metro. Homes are massive here, and price points are up there, too, but most properties are custom or very semi-custom. So, usually, you're paying for the land, the home, and designed features that you're going to select. If you want luxury, this is certainly an area to keep at the top of any list.

Why Everybody's Moving to Weddington NC? Because they can't see the traps around them. Property tax comes in 2 separate bills (county & city). Vehicle owners must pay property tax at time of purchase and every year when re-new registration.

Thanks for the support, Matthew! And yes, taxes are one of the many reasons that folks are moving to Weddington. Lower taxes in particular. The city and county portions are something that occurs in nearly each city/town around the Metro. The county tax rate for Weddington (Union) is $0.7309 and on the city side you're looking at $0.0520 per $100 assessed, for a combined amount of $0.7829. In contrast, living in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte), will cost you $0.6169 for the County and another $0.3481 for the city. That's $0.9650 combined. Your dollars are going to go just a bit further in Union. But hey, you've just brought up a great point - I need to start adding this sort of information to videos. Appreciate the help!
