    Placing marbles in a plastic dish is a very good exercise, and placing clothes pegs on the rim of a paper cup is also a very good one too.

    Thanks for adding this video!! They might seem like simple exercises but they’re more challenging than people realize!

    Another great video! Along with my occupational and physio therapy, your channel is fantastic 👍
    I've also been working with small marbles, picking up one at a time and placing them into a container, watching that I don't turn my shoulders as I do. Then I'll take a handful and drop one marble at a time.
    One other challenge I've also been working on are different clothes pins, pinching it open between my thumb and each finger on my affected side so my fingers arch, not having them pinch flat. After awhile, it really starts to make a difference 🙂👋

    Hi Doc, it’s been almost a year when I have my stroke. The tingling on my right hand and foot is always there. Also I’m experiencing clonus on my right leg when I’m steady standing and stretching my right arm. May be you have a specific therapy/exercise to address it. Thank you very much.

    What's the difference between occupation therapy and physiotherapy?

    I still have issues with spasticity. Do these exercises make spasticity worse or does it lessen them? Great video as always

      @PostStrokeOrg  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I think it varies person to person. I often see spasticity flare with concentrated movements or after a few repetitions of the exercise. So you may see a temporary flare of spasticity. However, the goal of exercising is to retrain the brain (which includes decreasing spasticity over time with repetitive movements). So over an extended time, spasticity may decrease. Sorry I can't be more concrete. There's always an "it depends" answer when it comes to stroke recovery, but I hope this helps! 🙂

      @@PostStrokeOrg Thanks. My take away is 'temporary flare of spasticity.' That really helps.

      Hi Doc, its been a year already since I suffered stroke, my problem is the continues tinging on my right hand and foot sometimes experiencing clonus when I’m standing and stretching my right arm. May be you can give me tips on the right exercise to minimize if not eliminate na tinging and clonus. Thank you much!

      @@PostStrokeOrg I was a mechanic........ And it just works for me... When I fall down beside the truck.
      And yes I still fall down.. I look at it as well since I'm down here. I might as well check the wiring to the starter... I will get my left hand back... I find that I use it without thinking about it and sometimes it works

    Your videos needs to emphasize more on finger dexterity by using them individually. If trying to be effective and increase viewers, I suggest you do that instead. Thank you.

      Thanks for the feedback! Isolated movements can definitely be helpful. From my perspective, as an OT, I like dexterity exercises/activities that reflect what we do in day-to-day life, which often requires the use of coordinated fine motor movements.
      If you're interested in exercises and activities that isolate finger movements, you may find some of my other videos helpful.
