  • The video is the Fourth in a series of 4 episodes that I am doing as a video essay about The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson.
In this episode, we specifically cover The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner, which features performances by Jeffrey Wright as Roebuck Wright, Edward Norton as the Chauffeur, Mathieu Amalric as the Commissaire of Ennui-Sur-Blase, Steve Park as chef Nescaffier, and Saoirse Ronan.
In this episode we aim to explain the ending of The French Dispatch and those words spoken by Nescaffier, "Seeking something missing, missing something left behind." I think this vignette captures much of the essence and spirit of the film in its entirety, and serves as a great "ending explained" video essay for The French Dispatch.

    SUGGESTION: The Shivering Truth
Another [as] property that aired for maybe a year w/ only 13(?) half episodes, made from the company that made MTV’s Wonder Shozen.

Im not great at analizing art, especially media so when I watched the french dispatch, I knew I liked it but I couldn't tell why. This put my thoughts into words and gave me an even deeper understanding. Really well done :)

You should check out my how to analyze film episode on the mask of Zorro, I actually break down my way of interpreting film that may be helpful!

@@MediaMattersChannel I watched it and it makes sense when you break it down, but i'm not sure I have enough experience/general context to think of that. Im only 16 so I just dont know alot of things yet and honesty I don't watch that many movies, let alone rewatch them and think about it alot. I like watching video essays about media though and I think I just need a bit more exposure and life experience before I can start making my own developed opinions.

Hello! I love your videos, and I’ve got a suggestion for you! A podcast called “Wolf 359”
It’s a podcast with 4 seasons about people in space, lots of themes and parallels and just all sorts of things that you might enjoy unpacking !

I know nothing about it except I’ve seen Gundam and loved it as a kid, that and cowboy bebop. I don’t mind taking a stab at it though - what’s a few good movies / series I should start with?
