They fail to understand that he sets the tempo, controls the game, frustrates the opponents and provides an effective channel linking the defense and the attack. Truly one of the most misunderstood players of his generation. That Jorgi Kova fulcrum is honestly the best midfield partnership I have ever witnessed.
You haven't witnessed nowhere near enough football then. If a player dictates the tempo of the game, he should have the ability to speed the game up and slow It down, just like Pirlo and Xavi etc. Jorginho cannot do this, he has one pace. his first instinct is to bring the ball back into the direction it has come from, he needs to be opening out to look forward straight away. He looses the ball all the time, and doesn't have the athletic ability to get back. The funny thing is people see all these 5 and 10 yard passes every game and think he is controlling it, when in reality these are basics that all midfielders not just professional players can do. I have to agree as a casual that he's pointing skills are excellent, as well as he's apparent ability to be a very likeable and intelligent guy, which is the only reason he is still playing.

Just because it's Kante, it doesn't make him more vital than Jorginho. In 2021, Kante missed a lot of games for Chelsea. Especially the first couple of months after Tuchel came in, Kante came back and played really well. Jorginho has been there throughout the entire year, being always the best or second best tackler, passer, and performer in the Champions League and the Euros. I'm a Chelsea fan so I know my team very well, when Tuchel came in, every time Jorginho performed, he shocked. He was never this good when Lampard and Sari were managers of Chelsea. He improved so much.
