That car park just outside Marske near the end of the video used to be a well know 'dogging' spot. That's probably why it's closed overnight. The last spot is known as Paddys Hole, due to the small harbour about 50 yards from you. A cracking spot for photographing sunsets & literally a 10 min drive from me. The South Gare lighthouse (your first spot) is a great location mid winter for photographing waves breaking over the lighthouse (yes over) during storms. Allegedly Redcar beach was second only to Hawaii as a kite surfing location, till the wind farm went up

With asparagus hand snap the bottom off leaving the lush green stalk and tips, you should be able to feel where to snap cos the bottom bits are hard and stringy opposed to the tender stalk and tip. Steak looked top notch 👌 has to be mooing for me though lmao😂😂 another great video 😊
To continue with the asparagus after snapping off the bottom bring a pan of water to the boil then pass the asparagus gently through the steam put on a plate and serve with half a quarter of a pound of slightly salted lurpack butter.(that’s the only veg you need)❤
Another great video Adam. Great simplistic 'any body can do this ' style of car camping. Many will be encouraged to do the same. Nature is for everybody and you carry that message very well.
Do u know what it's one of the reasons I didn't buy a van when I changed my car, I could have bought a small caddy van or something but to still be in a vehicle that hopefully affordable to most and that most have still really appeals and if I can find the time the little biscuit tin could be a real good build in that sense

Hey bud if you are heading up past Newcastle into Northumberland youll be amazed at the scenery and landscape..loads of places to camp overnight and wild camping all over the place
To cook the mushrooms you could put the griddle pan on top of the nonstick pan it acts like an oven mate.👍🚙⛺️
Awww you were in my neck of the woods and I missed you!!! You could have parked (overnight) in Saltburn and walked the Cleveland Way which joins the coast at Saltburn and is a stunning hike along the cliffs that goes all the way to Whitby, Scarborough and Filey.
I cooked "spargy" (asparagus) last weekend in the Ridgemonkey with a bit of Idla "lurpak". Wonderful. 😊
There's a great spot up near Bamburgh Castle...been a few times in my reliant robin 🤘
Aspargus, I cut them in two halfs, frying up the thick bits for a couple of minutes, then add the thin bits and some garlic - easy peasy

Cooking suggestion stir fry , sauce , ....quorn mince ... haha ( yes it's vegetarian ) yummi one pan meal
season your tsteak before you start cook ingredients flip every 30 seconds to create a bark once nearly cook add better and aromatics ie rosemary, tyhme, garlic ,bay leaf

Glad you came and enjoyed redcar Adam, while you where down the southgare, it was where my dad had a fishing boat in paddy's hole and a cabin, when we where kids we spent many a weekend down there. It was one big adventure playground.

I was at the Gare myself last 10 days ago, bit of van camping, bit of fishing, watching the seals. Good spot but can get a bit roudy at the weekends when it's nice weather. Groups of youths camping with cans and falling out after midnight lol
Yeh it was busy the first night bor racers all night long felt safe though just a bit rowdy
Never seen such a calamity cooking lol
You should take a fishing rod with you mate and catch a mackerel for tea mate.👍🚙⛺️

been looking at this area this afternoon on internet .used to do my daily walks maske to redcar love south gare road where you parked great fishing at gare lighthouse .green huts are fishing cabins .great video
Great vid Adam. That's my local area and is known as the South Gare, you were on the south bank of the river Tees. The place with the boats is Paddy's hole and the green sheds are fisherman's huts, some of which are quite luxurious inside. The scenery you highlighted is the part of Teesside that outsiders never get to see, all they know of is the heavy industry, so perhaps your vid might help to put us on the map!
That is the brake water in Redcar I have beans going there for over 50 years back in the 80s my uncle suck a bought their just managed to get off the boat before it sunk you can go to see Saltburn Guisborough Whitby and Scarborough and so on and so on and there is Lords of places to park up there cool cool places to view

That is Roseberry topping you're on the left side of the back of Rosebery top a little bit more and you are there and you are next to Saltburn you missed out on that one

Ah shame you didn't make it up Roseberry Topping, there is a more direct route from the Captain Cook monument, but I know like your bushwhacker routes intead. 😜
I've done a few hikes in that area along the Cleveland Way. Lovely part of England, hills, moors, woods and stunning coast and beaches all close by.
Can't beat a pub meal and pint outside the Cod and Lobster in Staithes.
I'll have to come back for roseberry topping, .... the dleveland way now that would be a great walk 👍.... lol staithes good little pub that beautiful little village 😀

Woo u in our neck of the woods, i m stockton. The steelworks used to be where u were camping, surprised you didnt get a visit from gypsies, loads around there. Love the walk you did but to be honest you missed the best bit, Roseberry topping and yes it was the hill you pointed out. The road was closed due to a massive pipe that fell off a wagon last week and wrecked the road near middlesbrough. Industrial area here but get passed it and theres some very nice places. From Saltburn down over defo improves. Go Staithes, Robin hoods bay, Sandsend you will love it, very olde worlde fishing villages. What day were u there, next time let us know and call in for a cuppa. Those mushrooms would have been better in the ridgemonkey by the way, when u closed it would have cooked the top?
Yeh really am going to have to come back for roseberry topping at some point and gives me and excuse to fund some different overnighting spots ... now u mention it couldn't really work out if it was holiday maker or a few long term gypsies was nosing with cars all night buzzing up and down not the best spot I've stayed but like u say head Staithes way and more and gets really nice and easier to overnight was in Staithes last January... great spot over looking the surf on a hill

You prepped the Asparagus correctly. You can get a splat cover for your pan cheap enough just like a mesh cover. Lol your cooking kills me hahaha but brilliant none the less. 😀💜😂😁💕

Looked like you had a cracking ramble around there, Roseberry topping is a really beautiful & scenic area, very photogenic. Great place to visit & I'm glad you took us all along with you. I can't get out at the mo as I've got lyme disease from one of my last excursions, I'll have to gaffatape my trousers over my boots next time I get out, bloomin blood sucking tics!
Forgot to add.. there will be the Persied meteor shower next month that will peak around the 12 or 13th of August (looking north / east from a dark location around midnight / 1am) but you can still see them leading up to that date & little afterwards too. It's a great spectacle & of course it's free of charge!

Didnt know u were up my neck of the woods. The south Gare (u can see the north gare across the water) is a legendary spot. Am always up there, got a few drone videos on my wee channel of the vanlifers there and ships leaving the port. Did u walk to the end past the lighthouse?
