I find True and Through to be quite strong against human enemies, including human bosses, given how they behave. They'll often advance toward the player, but leave their guard down while they're still out of normal attack range. So you can charge True and Through and let it off in their faces as they approach. Though I haven't tested enough to know for certain, it feels that they react (dodge or block) against it less frequently than they do against an Iai skill. True and Through lands so often in these scenarios that you could probably cheese with it if you wanted to.
some properties: 1. heaven flash has i-frame during its forward movement. I can i-frame oni bi projectile with it 2. sword ki follow up can put your character behind the enemy due to its poor tracking
To add to your second bullet point: You can also use S. Celerity to chase after locked on target e.g., useful for Toshimitsu and Ren since they like to hop around a lot.
In nioh 1s skill pvp I sometimes used swift step. You throw out an attack or two to bait them, swift step around them and iia quick draw, night rain or use it to bait into a parry when they try to punish.
So what would you list as must take sword skills? There's so many passives and actives to choose from. Maybe an idea for a video for best skills from each tree?
Greetings fellow samurais, shinobis and Yokai slayers. A humble question: how do I unlock Flowing Shadow and should I complete the secundary missions or just focus on the main missions? Thank you all ☺️
You unlock Flowing Shadow once you complete dojo missions as you progress through the game. The side missions offer certain rewards like Guardian Spirits that you may find valuable. I personally did every mission so I didn't miss out on anything.
This weapon type seems exceptionally technical. Can you describe a path to learning this weapon effectively? Like start a new character? Max prof first then unlock skills first to set up a training routine? I'm a Switchglaive, Splitstaff, as well as a Kusarigama user from Nioh 2 and 1 respectively. Played both games at launch and plat both but sword I just never could understand how it worked properly beyond the mandatory dojo missions for the mystic art unlock. I would just learn the spacing enough for iai quickdraw full charge and then kite the boss between attacks.
can i ask what move is the best after the enemies ki is in the red while using the sword ? it feels like it doesent have good ki dmg options after the bar is red so it feels like its absurd ki dmg is wasted unless you switch weapons
Weapon ki damage in general pale in comparison to yokai abilities. When enemy yokai ki is in the red but not depleted, I usually use a yokai ability with alot of damage to Stun them and open them to a grapple
Hi Poofer can I ask you a question? In which patch skills like sword of discernment and true and trough were buffed? I have the complete edition with the patch 1.27
Only problem in this game is that there are so many weapons that you don't even need to fully master the Sword, you could go Fists and kill enemies even quicker. It almost feels like they should make a game with sword only at some point, because it's really deep. Either that, or force you to use a particular weapon (and not just in Dojo) sometimes.

Weapon proficiency level goes up to 60. Therefore, you can eventually get every active skill and every passive for EVERY weapon.

Your channel should blow up one day
did you added chapters?
nice
Ki pulse into Iai strike after haze
The best skill on Katana is perfect guard block and the following stab. The other parries are kinda trash imo.
Agreed, especially since they can't parry active skills.
