I just rewatched this fight and realized that the "BWAAAH" sound that goes on in this song is actually part of an alarm system that the Chain sets off to let the other guards know that you're making an escape attempt. Now that's one hell of a way to kick off a game AND a prison break.
"Okay, Furier difficulty. Wonder if I still have to bother with the tutorial or..." *Chain starts wailing on me the second the screen fades back in.* "YOU CHEAP SONOFA-!"
Bit of trivia, the phrase "I hear thunder" was a phrase used commonly back in ancient Greece. Because the king of their pantheon was Zeus, God of the Sky, it and most gods lived atop Mount Olympus far above, it was used as a negative statement, more or less "the gods are getting angry." Considering what is revealed by the end of the game, I find this... most fitting.
Bit of trivia, the phrase "I hear thunder" can be commonly atrtibuted to a person's ability to perceive the sound which is produced by lightning. If despite being able to perceive this sound there is no precipitation, one can assume that the force of said thunder is powerful enough to demolish walls, and maybe the odd window pane too.

This might just be my favorite track from the game and its the very first boss battle track! Not that there's anything wrong with that, quite the contrary. 🌝 I remember playing tracks from this game while playing various fighting games with my pals; made them WAY more heated.

Possibly one of the greatest openings in all of gaming. It just goes ham!
