tbh I've only played about 10 missions from Dead Island, and sadly more than half of the game has been focused mainly on only combat, it's like playing a 3D fuck-em-up zombie game. There is some "story" in the game, but it's not good enough in order to be considered good, but hey maybe I just need to play a little bit more and the tables will turn... *hopefully*
