Still unbelievable that Inception didn't get the best written music Oscar. This is one of the best soundtracks ever and it lost to "The Social Network"
That was the year I started to not care about the Oscars anymore. At this point I don't even watch them at all. Such a big fuss of Hollywood people clapping themselves on the back while most awards go to undeserving "winners".
I think they're both great, although The Social Network stands out more as a movie soundtrack. Its voice is more distinctive, so I don't fault the judges for choosing it. Not to say this isn't excellent, but at the same time it's more similar to other soundtracks. (I say this despite much preferring Inception to The Social Network as a film)
Well, it is pretty much the same thing throughout the same piece, but it just get more fancy each time. Hans Zimmer does this a lot I feel. I still love it though, but I feel like it is just this sort of thing that keeps him for the John Williams, Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard league.

The C major chord really makes this entire song for me. I imagine this song summarizing an entire life, from the innocence of being a child that we took for granted, the successes and struggles we face throughout most of our adult lives, into the ultimate end for us all. But the C major brings out the positivity in life, it biases the balance of the first four chords which are half positive, half negative, and that to me, if not intentional, really gives me this feeling I can't describe about the beauty of life. I find motivation to push through the struggles I face now at 30 years old. As seemingly simple yet beautiful this sounds, there is so much deeper thought that has gone into this and it is truly a masterpiece.

This will be the song I hear as my life flashes before my eyes. It sounds like epic music to most, but to me it sounds like an exhausted journey. We struggle to go through life every day, yet we still try to live life like there's no tomorrow. And then once we breathe our final breath, all we'll see is light, a light so unfamiliar yet comforting. A light that will show the best time of our lives. And when the last key is played, it's time to finally say goodbye. (Thanks for reading. Now go and spend life as it is. :))
Crying. . . Something about playing this makes my head flood with all the good memories that I no longer get to spend with the one I once held close. Thank you for this piece.

This song has never ceased to give me goosebumps and tears in my eyes.. I wholeheartedly believe that there will never be a more beautiful song made, I want to learn how to play this and I want it to play in my funeral
this is such an emotional piece
For some reason this song always leaves me teary eyes for no reason. Hits you right in the solar plexus and never lets go
Yay!!! Dude, it’s so great to see your fantastic original cover done visual justice!!! This was so good!!!!
The definitive Pietschmann arrangement. Epic.
Brilliantly arranged and played! Really enjoyed this!
I found this play when I was at the lowest point in my life. I totally fell in love with it straight away. Now, I finally got my piano back again after 6 years of not playing and this is the first song I'm learning right now. Still get chills by this one most of the time. Thank you for this beautiful masterpiece. It helped me a lot.
I loved this song and inception. Both timeless masterpieces. This song is truly special. Thanks for uploading this cover.
Amazing rendition of a truly amazing piece of music.
Even if I start this song by accident, something just makes me unable to not hear the whole song.
I truly believe any footage you synced to music, would suddenly become epic.
I love your piano performance. This is a masterpiece, you made a piece of art. Hats off.
Never had a piece of music evoke so much emotion I literally tear up every time I hear this.
2:48 gives me chills every time
Patrick I had to comment, your piano style is amazing and my favorite out of everyone in TH-cam. I never learned how to read music but just learned this whole piece and your take on game of thrones as well thanks to you! Keep up what you're doing and bringing joy to everyone with your unique take on music.
When the left hand crossed, I gave up immediately😂 absolutely phenomenal work, Patrik. You're truly first-rate.
I'm coming back all the time for the years. This is truly such an amazing cover / varying version.
What kind of piano is that?
Можно вечно смотреть на три вещи-как горит огонь,как льётся вода и как играет Patrik Pietschmann
This Sounds Even better than the original. I‘m not lying.
This song is so beatiful!!! ❤
I practised this song very long on the piano and then I played it in front of my all my friends and family and they applaud said it was really beautifull.
So thank you for making this!!
hey man, I was just wondering how I get better with my left hand. I really suck with it and it gets hard to play with two hands at a time when a song gets complicated. Any advice?
@@maxpetry3653 I'm learning to play too and my advice is to get really good with each individual hand and then slowly blend the two together. Increasing in speed as you get comfortable. Just keep at it and eventually you'll sit down one day and be able to do it like it was nothing.
ten years after my first time listening, it still touch my heart and drive my emotion to the far far away
I'm going to a Hans Zimmer concert in a month here in Sweden and this just makes me look forward to it even more! Good job!
Göteborgs eller Stockholms? Ska själv till Göteborg! :))

Mega gut!! Respekt 💯
at the beginning when you played the first notes as quarters I was a little skeptical this would be a good cover because I've seen so many people try to recreate this masterpiece, but sir, you really have outdone yourself. this was amazing.
There are two types of composers-

Man, I've been severely suicidal for weeks now and I really felt a sense of relief while watching your video. Thanks for great job!

Never give up!!
Sorry to hear that bro. Hang in there. You don’t want to do that because then you won’t be able to hear this cool piece of music. Share your thoughts bro even if cunts out there are barely paying attention it helps to get everything out
Glad you're still here. I know things are tough, but keep hanging on.
Dont lose willpower! Cherish every moment! No regrets!
It's hard to find words to express my appreciation for this cover, just magical.
My brain: I need to learn this
My hands: But it is impossible
My brain: No, it is necessary
Come on TARS!

I hope, one day, people will look back at Hans as one of the greats. He truly has touched my heart with his music.
This is the first ever piece of music that actually brought me to tears.
Truly beautiful isn’t it
Keeping this CM alive :
If the world was a movie, this song would be played in the credits
This is one of the most beautiful set of music ever created
Patrick tells a story... Not by words but by music. Capable of doing that is amazing. I know its Han zimer that composed it but, he play's it on a piano magically
This song gives me chills of joy everytime I hear it.. the way the melody increases in intensity is just amazing.
That was beautiful bro 👍
this is why i spend much money on headphones. love it
This is incredibly powerful. Immaculate. VIbrates your soul. Everythings going to be okay if you work for it
I'm just so glad I opened my phone to find Patrik's notification💛
Whenever I hear this song I reflect back on my life like a picture flip book. The good times, the bad, the loved ones with us and the ones who are gone. This song also makes you not want to waste one more day of your life and start doing what you have been dreaming of… you only live once.
I watch many videos daily with piano this way (sooo many on youtube). However, i always watch this one again and again. Amazing piece, Hans Zimmer hit the jackpot in my brain!
thumbs up for you Patrik :) Amazing played :)
One of the best pieces of motivational music ever
3:15 that transition though 😍
I never get tired of listening to this
