A lot of people were quite upset with me because I didn't link to my travel gear in the description, so I finally sat down and found as many links as I could. Hope it helps :)
Literally everything I own fits into a small travel back-pack. Since I've been living like this for 3 years already I decided to make a video and share my tips and advices with you, in case you wanted to go on a big adventure as well (I really hope you will). Let me know what you think about it and thanks for watching! :)
Nope. I just have an online business and I work on it while I travel (on my computer). Since I never lose my income, I can afford to travel indefinitely and that's what I'm doing :)
Jacob Laukaitis you know what's amazing.. I own the same kind of business as you.. I too make my money online.. But i am petrified of travelling.. Just the thought of travelling to a new place scares the shit out of me.. And for that reason you are a dare devil for me.
I think it's difficult to take the first step, but once you do, no one will stop you. You will feel as if you're wasting your time living in one place, because you don't see, do and explore as much as you could if you were traveling. So if you want to start, just take the first step and enjoy the ride! :)
Nice vid Jacob. Leaning to efficiently effectively pack is so important. Knowing what you are going to need is the first step. When a group of us went out of the country, they could not believe what I could pull out of my pack. Know what you need to take and what you are willing to buy and leave behind when you are done.
Wow!! Tavo video yra tiesiog nuostabūs! Geros tau kelionės! Labai lauksiu naujų tavo įrašų, jie labai nuotaikingi, džiaugiuosi radusi tavo youtube kanalą!
I can see how passionate you are about all this! Really, it is always nice to watch your videos 😊 and also, I always thought you were a native speaker but then I saw your passport, wouldn't have thought your first language isn't English! 🤓
+Katja Marlene I'm real glad you're enjoying my videos. Thanks a lot! Oh, haha. I think there's a lot to learn still :) though I'm focusing on improving my other languages, not English at the moment.
You earned my first subscription ever!! I just came back from a month vacation from four Asian countries. You are completely true about packing. Really people, most of the items you would carry you wouldn't use them.
I found you through Prince Ea when he posted this video on his Facebook feed. Brilliant example of only taking what you need. I am excited to see your adventures.
This is the first video I've ever seen of yours and I really enjoyed it. :) You seem very chilled out. Don't understand why you don't have more subscribers? I'm probably going to end up binge watching a load of your videos 😂
That jacket is indeed super cool. Absolutely loved this video Jacob! You never cease to inspire. Question - What do you use to record voiceovers in your videos? Like the north korea vs south korea one? I did not see a mic in the backpack
You have a really positive aura and I like your voice ❤️️ I also have an iPhone SE and a GoPro Hero 5 👊🏻 The tip with the two backpacks is really helpful!
Love you!!! Just happened to watch your videos and im in love of the contents and everything! Can't wait to watch your upcoming videos and to see you to explore the world :)
Yes, I have an online business that I run while traveling. I wrote a bit more about it here: backchannel.com/what-i-learned-when-i-gave-up-the-9-to-5-873a48d78a59
You should try going to Turkmenistan. The Visa and preparation is hectic (it's on the same levels as North Korea) but the turn out is worth it. Turkmenistan is one of those extremely isolated and unknown countries that hardly anyone goes to, it also has a really bizarre regime in power there (the isolation and limits of travel are once again, on the same levels as North Korea) however, don't let the isolation and totalitarianism deter you, if you enjoyed visiting North Korea, you will probably enjoy Turkmenistan as well. The capital city of Ashgabat in particular is beautiful, and an experience all to it's own, you should really consider a trip there. And if you haven't gone already, you should also go to Tajikistan, it has some of the best unclimbed mountains btw, you content is amazing, I hope to one day do what you do!
As a female, we're challenged by having to take other private items along. :( And since I wear contacts, I would have to bring daily contacts or bring solution for monthly contacts as well as eyeglasses for times when I'm not wearing contacts. It's so tough being me. By the time I'm done packing, I wouldn't be able to lift the backpack onto my back. LOL
I don't know why, but you are so sympathic and you video was so helpful, i hope you had a great travel. Oh and i think you should try singing, your voice sounds interesting
Hi Jacob... am so excited found your channel 1 week ago and haven't watched all of your video and tbh all your videos are awesome. Btw am from Timor-Leste/East Timor and hopefully one day you will visit Timor-Leste. Cheers :)
Duuude! This video is awesome! :) Although I know how to pack for most of the journeys, you gave me some cool new inside. I never considered heaving another, smaller backpack inside the main one. This is such a great idea! I always used pocket backpacks of 14l or so, that are smaller than a fist when folded, and are great to have with you inside your kidney sachet. But your solution is so cool :) I will definitely use it on my next travel (btw I start on 27 of May my around the world tour). Thank you so much!
+Freedom Traveling I'm super glad to hear you liked my tips! And your around the world tour sounds absolutely amazing. Wish you all the best and greetings from Indonesia!
1 you are so cute! 2 I've never seen a TH-camr that has made me feel so happy like you. You have such an infectious happy attitude... are all Lithuanian people like you!? 😍
Superb videos Brother... i am new to your channel, but i loved the two vlogs that i seen so far. Go to the end and live a full filling life. Peace ✌️ and take care
Man like "Bars and melody" said "When we will be old and in our beds we will close our eyes and think about our life and die happy without any regrets" I'm pretty sure you will die happy without any regrets cuz you are just living your life Much love have a safe trip
+gamend what an awesome quote! I really do beleive than on my death-bed I'd be not very happy if I didn't do these things right now. Hope you live your life with that in mind as well!
Hey Jacob! Watching this 3 year old video and still i find it useful. I highly appreciate your work and it would be helpful if you could make an updated one along with some more briefing about items (links to buy them). Thanks.
You gonna pack a first aid kit and a pocket knife, always useful things to have. You can now also buy TSA approved multitools such as the leatherman style ps and the swiss army jetsetter. Its better to have it and not need it , than need it and not have it.
Great videos! You do deserve more views then what you get! And I love how you made a series of you're travel in Vietnam. And you how you showed what everyday was like. #don'twasteamoment
I was just thinking today that you haven't uploaded anything for a little bit and I'm curious what you are up to next. I love the way you think about owning things. I can't wait to see your next videos! PS Do you carry a towel? curiosity:)
Thank you very much for the support! It really means a lot to me :) Nah, I never do, because you always get them at hostels and hotels. And also they're hard to carry once they get wet.
Loved your video! Thank! I very been tryed to do like you do but couldn't get in so long but I'll try to get more information s and try again. Thanks for giving me inspiration.
+Ann Potato thank you! Yes, I'll do my best to take you to all of those plaes with my videos and hopefully it'll inspire you to start traveling yourself! :) thanks for your support!
That's very minimal packing, I wouldn't be able to survive haha! Can't wait to see the NZ vids, if you're heading to South Island, State Highway 1 has been closed due to the earthquake here, so you might need to re-route your road trip to an inland highway
I respect your way of travelling. But I could never imagine going to 50 countries in three years. I spent one year in Peru and I still haven't even went to Cusco. I am a VERY slow traveler and I know this is extreme. But I feel like there is no way to build real relationships and understand a culture in such a short period. Its not about the number of countries.
I absolutely agree with you, Aldora. That's why I'm traveling slower and slower every single year. For the past one and a half years I've literally been going to the countries I had already been to, thus I've been to Malaysia 9 times, Thailand 7 times, Indonesia 4 times, Spain 3, Japan 2, Vietnam 2 and so on. I totally agree that it's not the quantity that counts, but the quality. So way to go!
Aldora LaPlume you don't travel to build "relationships" you travel to experience the country ect you have a backward way of "traveling" or as I call it visiting a country
I know what you mean. I was in Peru myself for about a year. Have you been to the north of Peru around Chachapoyas or Cajamarca? So amazing there. The people are way more friendly there compared to the south where most of the travelers and tourists go. That's why around Cusco and Machu Picchu and the south in general everything is so touristy and a lot of scammers trying to betray you.
Jacob Laukaitis thanks. we have a huge Uniqlo here in Manhattan. You should have some affiliate links in your description for videos, review your favorite products, and make a few bucks helping people out!
Sounds like a good idea, I'll think about it :) Though for now I think I need to get a lot more traction and then worry about monetizing it. I'm still at an extremely early stage :)
Just found your channel. Come to Kenya and swim with dolphins and whales (its their mating season june-Sep) see wildbeast migration, eat chapati, visit 42 different cultures, etc etc
Nice video. Safe to say the 50L hiking backpack is a airline check-in or do you take out the smaller backpack, treat it as a personal item, overly smile to the air staff at the gate to clear the larger backpack as a carry-on? =)
Great video! We'll be in Asia in a few months in Indonesia mostly but all around there! We would love to meet up with you if you'll be there! Where is your favorite place in Asia?
I love the way you packing! So, 50 liters backpack could fit another bag. I wonder it backpack below 50 liters could fit it? Definitely need more experience regarding packing and traveling
Cool video. You pack like me:) 2 shoes - spot on. You should consider using Pacsafe's Venturesafe 45L pack for everything & small fold-down day pack - way more security. Ciao.
Hi from South Africa. Loving your videos . You should look into doing the garden route along the South African coast . Google it . My partner and I are doing it in Feb . Ultra Music Festival happens here in Feb. You have to add the garden route to your list og adventures

This is a really good idea, I've never think about bringing two bags to put the stuff separately, I should try to do that for my next trip :)
+razorlove1881 yeah absolutely! It's really convenient :)
That's very minimal packing, I wouldn't be able to survive haha! Can't wait to see the NZ vids, if you're heading to South Island, State Highway 1 has been closed due to the earthquake here, so you might need to re-route your road trip to an inland highway
Thanks for the tip! I'll explore as much as I can of New Zealand, since it seems to be such a wonderful place. Can't wait!
Good luck with the trip and stay safe ;) U are doing great :D

Jacob Laukaitis Thats awesome. Keep traveling:)
Aldora LaPlume you don't travel to build "relationships" you travel to experience the country ect you have a backward way of "traveling" or as I call it visiting a country
I guess it depends on which you prefer.
THANK YOU! i study geography and have been to 22 countries so far. Lived in the Philippines for 3 months;). Love to connect and share;)
cant wait for your trip to new zealand!!!
I will definitely make many videos from there!
im really happy to hear that you will visit Kazakhstan. Im from there but currently living in Malaysia. Anytime you can message me when u there.
Awesome! I really wanna explore that country, looks very interesting :)
This was very helpful! Totally worth it.
+Abhi Sohani thank you! Awesome to hear :)
One of my favorite "everything I own" videos. Insightful! oh can you tell me the jacket name please?
Cheers! I bought it at a UNIQLO in Japan. I'm sure they should have something similar these days as well.

Great video! We'll be in Asia in a few months in Indonesia mostly but all around there! We would love to meet up with you if you'll be there! Where is your favorite place in Asia?
Jacob, you are inspiring!! I am so jealous!!
Thank you very much for the kind words! You shouldn't be jealous, just go do the same :)
I love the way you packing!
So, 50 liters backpack could fit another bag. I wonder it backpack below 50 liters could fit it?
Definitely need more experience regarding packing and traveling
Inspirational. I will try to pack the same amount of stuff for 4 months in Thailand.
I believe in you!
Have you traveled to Laos? I lived there for a year as a teacher and loved it. I lived in a small town called Pakse you should check it out.
Nah, not yet. But I definitely will. Wow thanks for the tip, I'll def look into it!
Cool video! Usually, I take bedding sheets and tower. They take some space.
+Jacob Gao towel could work but there's def no need to be taking bedding sheets, at least in my experience :)
Just for saving:) Most hostels don't provide free sheets:/
Cool video. You pack like me:) 2 shoes - spot on. You should consider using Pacsafe's Venturesafe 45L pack for everything & small fold-down day pack - way more security. Ciao.
Awesome to hear!
Hi Jacob, do you have plans to visit the Philippines someday? Tell us what you think of the country please!
You are such a Fun loving person.
Thanks Pranav!

How do you wash your clothes over seas? Also how often do you want your clothes while traveling?
