I don't have those options on my Toshiba Windows Vista Home Premium (that i can find). And no "repair computer" option. It only allows me to system restore, but no apparent options to factory reset to prepare for laptop donation. Is there another way to set laptop for donation? Thanks!

my laptop doesn't beep nor shows me any warnings of some kind, it just opens windows boot manager and has only one option selection saying windows 7. Also I seem not to find any HDD recovery option on my system recovery options settings. I tried any possible solutions given on the internet but the only one which is possible isn't accessible to me, since i have to pay online and the country I'm in is under embargo with US. So would you be kind enough to find for me a solution please. I am really exhausted from this for a year now. My advance thanks.

Hi Alex. I pressed the f8 key and the menu that popped up only has 5 options. START UP REPAIR. SYSTEM RESTORE. SYSTEM IMAGE RECOVERY. WINDOWS MEMORY DIAGNOSTICS and COMMAND PROMPT. The option you chose is not on my screen. Any ideas pls ?

I have old a300 satellite and there is no option “repair my computer” I have a blue screen popping up saying “machine_check_exeption” 🤦‍♂️ is there any chance someone could help?? 🙏 this is old 8-9 years old laptop so nobody wants to repair it because cost will be more that the laptop itself. Der Laptop ist recht lahm geworden, weshalb ich den RAM durch weitere 4 GB aufrüsten möchte und die HDD durch eine SSD ersetzen will.Den Key für die vorinstallierte OS Version akzeptiert MS nicht auf seiner Download Seite. Muss ich mir eine neue Lizenz dafür kaufen ?

Normal erkennt er bei Neuinstallation mit eine Win10 Stick (Media Creation Tool) den eingebauten key. wenn eine Keyabfrage bei der installation kommt dann meist nicht, hier würde ich dir empfehlen eine gebrauchte Lizenz zu erwerben .

of course it's only windows repair console not recovery from toshiba - with F2 you come to bios at start F11 to boot menu by toshiba since 2006 or so
there must be a hidden partition on the harddisk and when not grab the recovery dvd's and format the drive after that you can do the magic named factory reset
sometimes it is hidden as HPA-Area and the HDD seems smaller as it is by supplier

Thanks for this. I've watched about 10 other videos showing how to do this but each one they tell you to use the 0 (zero) button but that does not work on my computer. This method was the only one which got me to the option to format but then I get a message telling me cant recover because could not find some folder on my first hard disk which I have no idea what that means. Thanks anyway

In case you or others need help;
as soon as you turn the PC on, keep pushing F8 continuously a bit fast till you get it.
keep in mind that if your PC is formatted before, the recovery option is no longer available for you.
you will have to use the recovery DVD or. If you don’t have it, you can order it from the Manufacturer or borrow it from friend or buy it online from eBay or amazon... etc.
