Thanks man! I’m curious how turkey hunters will take to these as based on most of the Facebook posts , they think it’s gonna be a “budget tss option” which is definitely not the case lol
Thank you. I can't wait to try these out to see how they work out of my setup. I'm not a big fan of the price but I'm sure they are worth it I'm just cheap. I've been using Multiple Winchester ammo for my turkey loads for years and so far I have no reason to change it. I can't wait to see how they do at 60 yards but I'd wait for a little warmer and not as windy day to shoot it. I appreciate you braving the cold to share this with us and I know it was cold because I was out taking my Flintlock for a walk here in Pennsylvania the past few days and it was a bit chilly.
WOW 😮 , that’s a WAD of pellets. I did some fall Turkey hunting this Fall in Oregon and Idaho. WOW, both states had TONS of Birds. I got two Birds and my first Miriam. I was using my 28ga. and # 9 & 10 TSS.
Its about time, i used to use winchester xtended range #5 ,basically their version of hevi shot that got discontinued , old 3.5 inch super x2 with a kicks choke liked it, may have to snag a box to see. Once again BCO leading the way
I know one thing, the original long beards out of my benelli were to damn tight and almost cost me a bird. Caufht the middle to back of neck. Like a cookie cutter at 30 yards. Or rather like i was shooting a rifled slug lol. The TSS shot is what made the .410 a beyond 25yard feasible turkey option.
Hell ya man love to hear it! Whenever you need a reference just type the load / choke / gun in and bco and if we’ve done it everything should show up Or just check out the turkey pattern series playlist!

@chevyon37s yessir and not sure on the speeds we use to test velocity every test but it was a pain and people always fought the findings so I chose to quit doing it 🤣🤣
This is the best thing I have seen all day. I have to admit that the way my day has gone, crapping my pants would be considered a positive. Nevertheless, this is good on any day, especially this one. And I am glad I didn’t have to crap my pants to turn things around.😂😂
I shoot #5 and #4 for turkeys i get them within 15 yards tho and only 2 3/4". I tell u what I was really impressed with and only because we started using them at work was the federal flight control 00 Buck wow what a game changer
That’s incredible for eighths! Just a heads up, I’m pretty sure they weigh the wad and the smash glass (resin) as part of the payload. I believe all ammo companies do that, they weigh the buffer and the shot, filler and the wad. Reloaders like myself, we truly dump the payload into that shell, that we say strictly shot.
In 12 gauge a hunter really doesn’t need tss I strongly believe however I’m never will be going afield with tss again well until something makes tss look like lead 🤣
Excellent video. I think i will be switching to this. Time to get away from XRs. Nothing wrong with them. Killed alot of birds with it just want a change and this looks awesome. Tyvm BCO for what yall do.
Personally I would say check out the rest of the turkey pattern series and look into small business handloading companies the consistency you won’t get with these factory loads plus the handloads will be cheaper
Loading with 8's I'm sure is just a selling point because all you need is 9's since they are lethal at 70+ yards...Even the 10's are lethal at 50 or 60 I think.
Should watch our ballistic tests with tss shot sizes … definitely would not be shooting 10’s at 50-60 yards personally based on what I’ve seen in testing 8’s will generally have a better pattern at 60 than 9’s due to how 8’s pattern so the selling point would be it helps to fit what they claim on their box like I went over in the video
Jake look at the Winchester elite it was a hevi shot I still have a box of them and they killed farther then the longboard xr by far only on the market for about 2yrs ill send you a pic of them
@erinjackson6663 did they actually promote on the box that it was for long range? What I’m saying is on the LBXR box it is promoted longer range shooting
I heard they'll have .410, 28, and 20 as well... Mass produced TSS at handload pricing. That said, I know how they test and produce their shells, and it's the best of the Bigs. And, they didn't sell out to war mongering Czechs...
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA I can't say never, but I won't hunt with anything but a handload from here on out, if I can... It's just so much better... All of us custom companies make good stuff.
Is that 65 bucks for 5 ? Not a bad deal for tss. I been waiting a long time for somethin like this. That runs better than a lot of tss rounds in my 870. Can’t wait to get a hold of em
With it being 8s I guess your right it would be alittle to tight..another great choke or chokes I personally think would do amazing is the..code black turkey .665 or Jebs .665..
Can the average guy buy these now???? So, are you saying they are still fine tuning this load and it could change before it's available to the general public??? Thks
@ fixed my comment lol. 70$ is pretty high for me to try and not pattern well, and my thinking is because the long beard XR is meant to be ran through the long beard choke, it should pattern well. I am new to turkey hunting and don’t want to dump tons of money into it, and not have a result. Maybe in a year or so, after they been out, someone will eventually shoot it through the long beard choke and it’ll answer my question. It’s TSS expensive, and I’m probably going to be the only one running a standard stock choke, as most people seem to change the choke ASAP. Good video, keep up the hard work
Trust me I know the cost of a box very well been pattering this for 4 years and over 650+ pattern tests 🤣 How much of the turkey pattern series have you watched? Handloaded tss is the way to go but in a 12 gauge you do not need tss , a LBXR 5’s or even 6’s will yield a hunt able pattern to 40 yards

Man, I love BCO videos. I watch all of them. But I have to call BS on this one. This is why actual data, rather than a subjective eye test tells the story more accurately. Actual data doesn’t allow sentimental value to influence the results. You test one load that has a few pellets outside the core and you’ll talk about fliers ten times during the video. This load has a coffee cup full of fliers and you say it has, “very minimal fliers.” It also has some pretty good sized gaps (for a TSS load). It will ABSOLUTELY kill a turkey, but it isn’t even close to some of your best patterns. And YES, I count pellets. I’m a nerd that way.
