      @@Leviathandk What is the cost?

    • @rainerunsinn4808
      @rainerunsinn4808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Leviathandk Maintanance is always way cheaper (and much less wastefull) than buying new. Keep this in mind when talking about prices. Theres pretty much no difference in cost for the mechanic when you take off the parts, clean them and put it all back together, compared to replacing (for example a rear deraillurer) with new parts. The price for the new parts is where it get's ugly. Think about the production process; an aluminium plant easily needs the same amount of energy, a larger city needs, so that's where it get's hefty.

    • @Leviathandk
      @Leviathandk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rainerunsinn4808 I agree..
      I'm a bike mechanic in denmark. Im thinking about doing something like this, here. The places i've worked it just seems almost all customers only want the bare minimum done.

    • @rainerunsinn4808
      @rainerunsinn4808 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Leviathandk Absolutely wish you the best with with that! Yes I know absolutely what you are talking about, but I think "we" have to take responsibilty for this too. A lot of mechanics feel most comfortable when they can hide somewhere in the back of their workshop, having little to none contact with the actual customer. On the other hand, sometimes you get the feeling, the person on the counter of bicycle shops might as well sell you a washing machine the next day somewhere else. A good amount of customers don't know much about bikes, but they have an understanding of service quality. And I think this is also the reason why these videos from bikespeeds are so popular, even to non mechanics, because ( I think it is safe to say) most of us have never seen a shop getting this involved into servicing bikes.

    This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
