@@larrylucid5502 I hear you… but fear can be conquered. Not that I’ve conquered it, but I’ve had moments of complete fearlessness. The longest time was 1-2 weeks.
Some people indeed lie about no fear, and avoid the fear of feeling fear, deny their fear etc and ironically that causes it to grow.
However, when you’ve faced some enormous fears, and surrendered to potential loss and realizing that we have little control (although we definitely have choices…like to climb a mountain or other potentially dangerous feats), you can sometimes zoom out and see how being in the moment, purely in the “now”, you are fully experiencing aliveness and connectedness.
Myself, I have no need, desire, to conquer actual mountains, but definitely metaphorical ones.
Sometimes our fears can cause as much danger, suffering (and often more) than the act of living fearless. Fear is a powerful, powerful, force. It is at the root of self sabotage, relationships eroding, greed, hurtful behaviors, and on and on. Sure, in terms of survival, it can save a life. Unfortunately, we humans have our flight/fight on hyperactive mode. We all could learn from tapping into a little fearlessness. Learning to lean into discomfort and evolve…letting faith, hope, love, joy, come out on top, over fear.

    • @larrylucid5502
      @larrylucid5502 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Alphacentauri819 I appreciate the effort, but conquering fear and having no fear are two distinct concepts. Training to do something dangerous provides confidence, which eventually overcomes fear, it doesnt eliminate it. Getting catapulted into a different, uncharted situation resets that ballance. People fear what they dont understand, right ? Its natural, logical. How would this "courageous" dude fare in a burning building or a gun fight ?
Anyway, lets not get bogged down in semantics. The quote is "the biggest strength i have is : I have no fear". Pretty absurd, wouldnt you say ? :) Especially as a general quality.

    - Don't be afraid to dream big. Doesn't matter where you come from. You can show the world nothing is impossible.
    - Sometimes you got to focus on something that's very important to you.
    - Giving up is not in the blood, Sir! It's not in the blood.
    - I learned quickly, whatever the situation is, you have to stay in control.
    - I'm doing some crazy stuff. I got nothing more to give.
    - I have never left anyone behind.
    - It's not in my blood to leave a person behind.
    - I just fell in love with the physical and mental challenge.
    - It doesn't matter how extreme the challenge is. I'm not going to give up.
    - On the summit, your soul becomes part of the mountain. It makes you feel alive.
    - I always say to myself, I'm not gonna die today. Maybe tomorrow, but not today.
    - As a leader, the team has to have in you to make the right decision.
    - Guys, one life, yeah? We live it.
    - As a leader, you've got to present yourself with so, so much confidence.
    - But the biggest strength I have is, I have no fear.
    - When you are in the mountains, you find out who you really are.
    - I climb so I can live every moment of my life.
    - I am the Usain Bolt of 8,000 meters. No one can defeat me!
    - In life, you have to keep doing what you believe. You have to ask yourself, do you really want this from your heart? Is it for the self-glory? Or is it for something bigger?
    - Sometimes, the idea that you come up with may seem impossible to the rest of the world, but that doesn't mean it's impossible for you. And if you can inspire one or two people in a good way,
then you can inspire the world.

Literally gave me goosebumps. This was long overdue. Thank you Netflix. Often times the Westerners gets accolades who had 10 people helping him, from carrying their loads to cooking for them and making a way for them.

This is one of the greatest documentaries I have ever seen. Remember the name people, NIMS PURJA. A real human legend. This should win an Oscar and get proper recognition akin to Free Solo.
The film has inspired me tremendously, those scenes in high altitudes man, they are life-giving. Project Possible is now a way of life!

His winter climb of K2 is the real story. The king of mountains finally tamed. That’s the movie to watch in the future as Everest is amateur climbing at best. Karakorams are the holy grail of mountaineering.

Wow, I will definitely renew my Netflix subscription just to watch this one. I'm completely astonished by the strength and will of all the sherpas that have bravely and selflessly helped so many westerners climb the Himalayas and I'm so glad and proud to see one of you on the front cover. This is a great achievement for your nation and all the world. Be safe
