So many of you have asked, so here is the link to the freezer/pantry bins: www.containerstore.com/s/multi_purpose-bins/d?q=multipurpose%20bin&productId=10022942&cid=sm_organic%7Ccasaarssenyoutube%7C07272023
I have been watching your stuff for a few months now. I have watched others for years, but since I started watching you, it has been a game changer! I have debilitating physical restrictions, so this has to happen. I have decluttered ( I love your ideas for this!), I have determined that I am 100% CRICKET!!!! I have followed your tips to organize your daily routines. I have a book for "to dos," but it never became easy until I followed the routines. I have the tall sea grass basket and the gold colored folder hangers. I already had some of your management book stuff, but your way is awesome. Thank you. I also love how you have been real and honest. When you were procrastinating watching TV because you were overwhelmed. That is reality. Things stay working well following your tips until life happens, and you fall off the bandwagon. Lol It's okay not to be perfect. You know what works and can go back to things when you have recovered. Lol. Thank you for everything ❤️
@@katefree9539 So happy for you! Where did you find the gold folder hangers? I have chronic pain and some mobility issues. Leaving stuff where I can grab it easily is super helpful to me. :) Also a cricket, but it kind of looks like I am a butterfly because so much stuff has to be out so I can use it -- like small appliances -- for example.
You know what’s awesome about these tips? They’re forgiving, uncomplicated and delivered without judgment. When someone is at the overwhelm stage and beginning their journey to better systems of organization, they should begin with small wins like these. ☺️
Agreed! I love how PRACTICAL Cass’s methods are. All my life I’ve tried to get help from sweet crickets who hide and micro-organize, but I’m super visual.
Omg you have NO idea how many many months, headaches, anxiety attacks, books, systems, etc I have been on a journey to the final chapter in my recovery….. getting my years of neglect, hoarding, and emotional attachment that has swallowed my home caught up with my new healthy happy life. In literally 20 minutes you have given me hope and an IMMEDIATE ZERO DOLLAR and most importantly OBTAINABLE solution. Thank you you literally have no idea how thankful I am
You need to see a neurologist. I get these, you will be alright with the correct care. An optician deals with the eye, but these are coming from the brain. I’ve been suffering for 20 years, just happened yesterday in my retina specialist’s office. I had to beg him not to call an ambulance. Told him it’s normal for me. I don’t vomit, I see intricate designs like oriental rug designs lol. We’re all different! Please see a neurologist. God love you!❤
Today is the first time I 'discovered' you. OMG, what a Godsend you are! Just turned 69 and only recently have begun concluding that I have ADD. My kids have it. My mom as well, so how I never realized what ailed me all these decades .... well, I DO know, it's called the grandparents who raised me, and the fact that there WAS no label for attention issues at that time. You are brilliant, and I am so so so thankful that you are not afraid to hit that topic head on, & not hiding away the trials of life with an ADD human. Blessings, blessings, blessings. May manifold blessings be your reward today.
You're the only person who's ever mentioned experiencing "that flashy light thing". I have had them from time to time for 25 years. I'm 63 years now and most people will agree that I am still perfectly normal. Strangely, I told more than a few physicians about the flashy episodes and most of them didn't identify it as ocular migraines. They just shrugged it off! So I continued on, hoping that it wasn't indicative of brain cancer or something. Sometimes the flashes start after I look directly at a bright light. Other times, I know stress was the trigger. (I never have vomited though. I'm sorry for you about that.) So don't worry too much, Cas. Thanks for all your excellent content. Love ya!
What a treasure you are to us fans and followers!!! I have never heard anyone as honest about all the crap going on in their life. You don't just show us the good stuff. I love it and I love you so much 💗💗💗
Oh my gosh, every baby was stressed! It started with the move, then you left and poor furbaby had to let it all go, more stress leading to migraine during vet visit which is Sooooo stressful and fur baby’s momma is incapacitated and unable to help.... chomp, and ... good lord, I bet you were happy that day ended. 😮
It’s called “ocular migraine’s “ … they are scary but not terribly concerning. They are triggered by stress!!! No need to worry but definitely try to get some rest !! Ps; I’m an optician 🤓 Edit: if it’s continued or not improving, or just to ease any concerns) see an Eye Doctor or your PCP, just in case!
@@Merry-v1c yes that’s a good description of the sensation.. it can be disconcerting especially the first time getting them. Shouldn’t last long, if it does, see an eye doctor 👩🏼⚕️

My husband has horrible migraines so he has done a LOT of research.... He shares that research with me.... 😳 There are so many things that are under the migraine umbrella! Yes what you are experiencing is a migraine - auras, blindness, vomiting... 😔 Changes in hormones can start migraines or new types of migraines... 🤔 so definitely a good idea to talk it over with your doctor to see what your triggers might be... start keeping a simple food diary. My husband has to avoid onions (cooked are okay in small quantities), chocolate, processed meat products containing nitrites and nitrates - he can eat only kosher hotdogs.... Hope you are able to identify your triggers so you can avoid them 💕
The entire sheet section killed me. "This is the wrong pillow case, don't judge me." I love that you addressed it even though it was obvious that it was the wrong one. "This looks like a meatball, yours probably looks nice." I had to replay that bit, it was that good. ❤
For my papers I bought a dish rack from dollar tree and bent all them up and added 6 files. Then I hung it on the wall. Best thing I ever did for myself.
Only you could tell a story like this that makes people laugh out loud! Bless you. You are so funny. I hope you (and Penny) have recovered and are ok now.
I have had migraines a but like that before but nit that extreme. Usually stress related. The side of my face can go numb as a precursor to it. You may want to check with your doctor though, of which you probably have. God bless you, sounds Iike a lot. Hang in there
My husband would hate me buying all those boxes and organizers. I have a lot of shoe boxes and other free boxes to organize my items. The jewelry organizer is brilliant!
One of my favorite organizing projects: I do quite a bit of baking, so I grouped baking soda, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar in a shallow square plastic container. When I'm following a recipe, I pull this out and put it on the counter - it's so much easier to pull out and put away one thing instead of several. To make this even better, I purchased small cans of baking powder that have a metal cross piece for leveling the measuring spoon. Then I emptied these and filled them with baking soda , salt and a specialty leavening that I also use (Bakewell Cream). I wrapped the containers in pretty contact paper and labeled the lids. Now they match, are pretty, and are easy to pull out and to use. I keep the backup supplies elsewhere. It did take a little time to create, but I enjoy it every time I'm baking cookies or cakes.
I often mix dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl and then put a sheet of waxed paper on top. There are less steps to do the next day, when I'm prepping a meal. It seems like less than half the work, when you split it up. :)
@gailmariage5318 I do that, too! But I have a naughty cat that I KNOW sneaks onto the counter at night, so I have a set of silicone covers that you just place on top of any bowl, and they seal well enough to keep her paws out. 🐾
I cracked up with "if your not balling melons" and "get rid of your holy underwear" 😂 All great tips. My decluttering journey started 2 years ago and I'll never turn back so happy for all the tips and support from The Minimal Mom, The Frugal Fit Mom, Diane and Denmark and Clutterbug it has been life changing!
Hehe. I find underwear has a life cycle - it's the good underwear, then the casual underwear/gym underwear, then it's 'period underwear' - I now have a little box in my drawer wear the undies at the end of their life cycle live.
To prepare for future decluttering sessions, try this: Get a pad of small Post-its or a roll of painter's tape and mark them with the current month and year. Go through your dishes, cookware, bakeware, appliances, orphaned cords, etc and tag them with one of the prepared date markers. When you use an item, remove its date marker. The next time you go through decluttering, you are better able to determine if the item is worth keep or that it's time for it to go. If it stays, leave the date marker on; in another year you may finally be convinced.
Cas I always stay to the end💛. You tell us the good the bad and the ugly and we love you for it! We all have crap going on in our lives, you have a way of turning it into something we can smile at 😊
I suffer from brutal migraines and carry a med kit with me at all times. I have a 3 step protocol I follow before I go to the ER begging them to kill me lol. They are brutal but most of the time I can stop them before they get that bad. Cass, thank you for this video. You have inspired me to declutter so much. I have about 18 bags and boxes ready for donations. xoxo
Freezers work through the movement of cold air through the items stored there. That basic principle argues against the use of solid bins to consolidate your frozen foods. Blocking air flow makes your freezer work harder and makes it harder for frozen items to reach subfreezing temperatures quickly. Better to use pierced materials like plastic or metal bins with an open mesh or pierced design. Better still, use wire containers, the wider the weave the better.
The necklace one- a word of caution, if you have cats, this is a no-go! lol I have a full length mirror jewelry box that closes, and I even have to keep it locked because my cat will open it to play with my jewelry. But as always, a lot of great tips
My migraines have almost completely disappeared. Drinking Celery juice on an empty stomach every morning has helped me a lot! Thank you and all the best!
Oh my goodness! You brought on a complete flashback to the days when my 3 kids were still under our roof! It was a 3 ring circus, all day, every day. My husband had a career that was life and death and we did not have family around so I was on my own to deal with it. Hang in there and know that one day you will look back and find days like you described as fond memories and you will even be able to laugh about it. Today my husband and I are retired. Our lives are quiet and we look back on those days with our kids and laugh. You are adorable. It does get easier. You are a strong capable woman! Pat yourself on the back, do something kind for yourself, take a deep breath and soldier on, my dear. You’ve got this!❤
You poor honey with that headache! You might possibly have a trigger in your diet, either a food or a chemical, though it sure looks like stress set it off. If you have them often, try using organic food, experiment eliminating common triggers like red dye and gluten, if you are lucky you may well find there is something you can avoid and not have the number or intensity of headaches. Also get bloodwork done to look for possible clues like metabolic markers or vitamin deficits. We are rooting for you, you deserve happiness and we need you well because you help us so much!
Sorry Cas, It's called migraines with aura. It's your body's way of letting you know the migraine is coming. It's triggered mainly by stress or certain foods. Once the aura starts you might wanna get started on an NSAID like ibuprofen and since you already know you start vomiting, take an antiemetic and just lie down with cold compresses and rest. It significantly reduces symptoms. If you need anything stronger consult your doctor. Hope it's helpful. And by all means never drive when you start having an aura it is dangerous.
My mom gets the aura at the onset of a migraine and she can often head it off with some pain meds and a caffeinated soda helps. I don't get a warning and it's infrequent, but I will take pain meds and lay down in a quiet dark room. I can't tolerate light or noise during them.
The BEST thing I ever did was put inexpensive milk crates in my small chest freezer. Two stack perfectly on top of each other and nothing ever gets lost on the bottom anymore.
I've had that kind of migraine before. I started having the flashing lights when I was a teenager. I started going blind with them in my 30s. The first time it happened I didn't know what was happening and I went blind while driving home from work. I ended up hitting a car before I could stop, but no one was hurt. I ended up going to the emergency department where I found out that having those kinds of migraines means you're at a higher risk of having a stroke. So be careful and take care of yourself! I enjoy your videos!
Maya's mom here: es, yes yes, my dear...everything, especially the hurling...Oh my lord the headaches and the hurlings...! And thank you for some good advise...a place for everything and everything is in it!
Yes, this happens to me with migraines. I can always tell one is coming on when the vision starts going weird. I immediately take meds, lay down, and close my eyes.
I celebrate 40yrs of migraines this year, they can last 3days normally and once I've been sick I begin to slowly feel better. I too suffered the blind panic whilst on holiday and my 2yr old tried to follow me in the deep end of the pool, on Daddy's watch. I literally was blind searching for her. I saw black! My sympathies to anyone who suffers migraines.
I love your videos! One thing I do: Clothes that have been worn once and are still clean are hung in my closet, but I turn them inside-out. Then, when I do laundry, I can easily see anything "optional" to add to a load. Keep the tips coming! ❤️
The stress, the chaos, the migraines, the crazy pants happenings! Are we related?! Thanks so much Cass! You help me with more than decluttering!❤Thank the Lord for good husbands!😎
I’ve had migraines since I was 5 years old and I am 53 now! I’m so sorry that you are experiencing this. It sounds like you are having (ocular migraines, no pain) and also classic migraines with aura ( aura, visual disturbance; then the knife in the eye feeling pain with or without vomiting.) The main thing that you will want to remember is to TIME YOUR MIGRAINE when the aura starts. If it lasts more than 20 minutes, you should be seen by a doctor. The old belief was that migraines aren’t very serious, but if you have what is called “prolonged auras” they can be serious and lead to a stroke. Low blood sugar can trigger migraines, stress, weather changes, hormones, bright lights, certain foods all can trigger migraines. Every one of us has different triggers. But, I have found that keeping my blood sugars stabilized is the key. Eat low carb and Don’t skip meals! Love your videos! You do a great job! The poop 💩 with the new 🐶 -so relatable! 😂
I'm sorry you had such a stressful day Cas. I find that if I take Excedrin Migraine as soon as I can after the flashing lights appear it prevents the rest from happening. It may not work for everyone but it's worth a try. Thanks for all the great tips and I hope your move is going well. ❤ - Chantel
Oh girl - I have those same pre-effects from an on-coming migraine. The strobes, blindness, and the nausea. I'm glad you made it through all of it unscathed. What a day you had yesterday, and I hope you have a better day today :)
Wow! I thought I'll never find anyone with same pre-effects. Mine usually without nausea, but with side blindness. First time was so scary. If I remember right it's called migraine with aura.
Cas, you crack me up!!! I love your judgement free real life organising tips! And your stories at the end are hilarious 😂 😂 thank you for always reminding me that everyone's life is crazy not just me not coping ❤
Cass, number one thing: it is easiest to organize with whatever you already own IF you unclutter the excess FIRST! I just did 3 drawers this morning in just a few minutes!! You always inspire me (maybe not the bed sheets🙄😱😂😂) and you always make me feel like YES I CAN!!! I am SO sorry about your incident with precious Penny!😞 I absolutely hate it when my pets get sick in any way and I am a nervous wreck. That absolutely leads to a headache and the headache makes me feel anxiety and panic! I am 60 now and was SO much better at handling these situations when I was 30 than now at 60. I think my brain suffered great injury by raising 4 kids, homeschooling for 21 years, and many pets over the years. I have collected myself SEVEN cats now,😱, but one of them is my emotional support animal! He just ‘knows’ how to act like a weighted blanket and force me to calm down! Hang in there, Cass!❤️
I laughed-cried at your end story. "This is my life." Yes! Going through similar ( swap migraine for panic/attacks) Can't there be just ONE week without a "A Thing" ??! Always love your stories. Hugs to you!!
I've had "Tension Head Aches". Flashing lights & intense head pain. I try to walk with Daisy & relax 1x a day, seems to help. Your video is very helpful. Thank you. I like the clear tall bins.
favorite outtake..."It is MEANT to be a trash bag with handles." May God Richly bless you, Girl! You were made for such a time as this. Seriously. You are talented - this is a great medium for you. Sorry this was so long. Guess I should have emailed hahaha🎉
Wow I'm so early! Cass, you have changed my life. I always thought I was just incapable of organizing and keeping it organized... You showed me that I was just not organizing the way my brain functions. You have initiated change in my home (kids and fur babies and all), and even my work! I've started creating and implementing systems that work better for myself and honestly, the majority of my team! I have shared your channel with countless people, you are such an amazing content creator, and also super funny! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Your stories are funny, hopefully you and your fur baby are doing better. I never had a junk drawer and never put anything inside of my nightstand. I only have three items on the top. I am 70 years old! I am very organized, and I have a place for everything in my home and garage.
My biggest win this week was adding a “clutter catcher” to my purse. It is just a thin desk organizer tray that sits on top of everything else in my purse. That way when I drop something in my purse (keys, tissues, mail, etc) it doesn’t go into the main purse but drops into the clutter catcher. Then when I get home all I have to do is pull the tray out and deal with its contents. No more having to dejunk my purse. I’m in love.
I LOVE all your organizing tips, but I absoFREAKINlutely adore your end stories!!! I have a friend who also has THE craziest things happen to her (you people really DO exist!!) and the stories you share keep the rest of us laughing! I do sincerely hope you and Penny will be fine. Thanks again, Cas!
Yes! I am very blessed with migraines-I get the flickering lights (I call it glitter), but almost never the headache or nausea. I feel so much sympathy for those of you who get headache migraines. These organizing tips are marvelous. Thank you!!
I have gotten migraines in years past.. when I do I go right to my chiropractor and a neck adjustment resolves it.. i still would have some residual body tension, but the adjustment stops the whole progression..
I get those, too. I call them visual migraines. Mine are like splashes or starbursts in front of my eyes, and they don't really flicker, but they do prevent me from seeing in that spot. They'll spread from a small pinpoint to a huge splash that affects my sight for a little while. Unfortunately for me, when the splashes fade away (usually takes about 20 minutes), I do get a headache, though I've learned to go ahead and take pain reliever when I start seeing the splashes, and that helps with the headache.
I get exactly the same symptom - flashing lights but no headache or nausea. I believe it is called visual migraine and lasts about 15 to 20 minutes only in my case.
Migraines with Aura is the medical term. Make sure your hydrated and electrolyte balance (magnesium/potassium/sodium) they're great Sports drinks out there or even coconut water. When I get starting of my migraine I'll up my water intake or have a sport drinks, stops it progressing.
This was my favorite video ever. It literally got me out of the chair, pushing pause and organizing a space that had been bugging me. You rock Cass! And migraines suck. It is the brain's alarm system that you have overloaded your circuits, like kicking the breaker in the fuse box.
Yes Cas, I have had migraines since I was 17 years old. Those "auras" are very common with migraine sufferers! They still don't know what causes it and there is no way to stop them. I have found over the years that I do have triggers. Some of them being bright lights, an empty stomach, being overheated, and being under stress. However, I think hormonal fluctuations play a part also. The older I get the less frequently they occur. The best thing you can do is get in a quiet, dark room and take a nap. If you have an empty stomach, eat a snack. Yours must have been a terrible one, since you were vomiting. I consider myself lucky because even though I got nauseous sometimes, it was rare for me to throw up. I took Imitrex twice and all it did was make me sicker and it felt like my blood pressure bottomed out. Not good. I empathize, I have been there dozens of times. Remember to take care of yourself and keep doing what you are doing. You are an inspiration to so many!
I've stopped mine in tracks by going to bed with zero light but when that is not option, blocking out light and smelling peppermint essential oil. Not a whiff, like it's my life purpose.
What you describe with your headache and the lights you see is called an optical migraine. Sadly I have a few of those along with a few other women I know. It can be stress and hormone induced. I hope you have found some relief by the time you read this comment. Also Btw, I love your helpful videos and how FREAKIN hilarious you are! I have had plenty of dog poop cleanup mishaps myself, esp when the kids (or husband ) are in charge LOL, so I completely understand and I think all of your viewers appreciate how you are just a real person and Mom and how totally relatable you are. blessings to you and prayers for migraine relief.
Yes I get those migraines. There are clues that they will happen even a few days before: mood changes, fatigue, dizziness. If you can take Advil with the aura sometimes you can avoid the pain part.
⛈️ When it rains it pours. I tell myself that the crazy, stressful days are to help me appreciate and enjoy the mundane days. Thanks for all you do and just being you, Cas! 😁
Yes!!! I get those migraines. They are awful!! With me before the hurling, I lose my speech and can’t put words or sentences together. It’s really scary. It takes a few days to recover too. Prayers for you cuz I know I need them when I have a migraine. Great tips though. ❤❤❤
@@suzifitzpatrick1802 yes. As soon as I start seeing the sparkling light I just want to cry because I know what I’m on for. I’m sorry this happens to you also.
Love this video. I have a french door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Would love to see how you would organize that type of freezer. Thanks for great videos!
Yes! It’s like a black hole, I’m thinking bins would help for this too since things tend to get lost and forgotten at the bottom. (For me anyway) I put smaller packages and items that we use frequently in the smaller drawer on top of the freezer (veggies, fruit, frozen meals) Tips for a chest freezer would be great too. We went in with friends to buy beef in bulk from a butcher, and I’m going to get some dollar store baskets or bins with handles to put all the ground beef in one, steaks in another, roasts in another, etc.
Yes! A feel-good video because I do most of what you suggested. I have used drawer dividers for decades. I sort my socks by color in tissue boxes in my drawer. All my kitchen drawers have dividers. My pantry has free boxes covered with matching DT contact paper. I buy extra shelves for bookcases and kitchen cabinets so I don't have wasted air space or struggle to get the bottom item in a stack. Clothes are organized by color and season. My clutter issue to change is having too much stuff. Thank you. This may be the first organizing video that didn't leave me feeling guilty.
When I was a kid, my Mom was digging in her purse when she found a carefully wrapped napkin containing 1/2 half of an enchilada that my toddler sister wanted to take home 😁. I always enjoy your sunny, fun and laid back demeanor. Thanks for this fantastic video, with So many great ideas! I'm a disabled stay at home Mom with ADHD, so I need all the help I can get!!!!
I use a lazy Susan for spices in my narrow cupboard. Just turn it to find your herb or spice. Also, for all the bad press against melon ballers, I do use a melon baller for melon and it is great to get seeds out of hard winter squash. Thanks for all the tips and tricks!
I’m sure moving stress is a huge factor contributing to your migraines 😣 looking forward to seeing you new home ! Also despite you are looking sooooo good Cas ☺️ I really like the clean make up look and your hair looks fantastic . Looking effortlessly pretty
OHHH and my last big one was when Brinklee swallowed 2 coins and again had a surgery in May. In an effort to protect her from the other dog when she came home, I bent over the other one who immediately jumped up into my forehead, her collar hit my forehead and 3 hours later I came home with stitches which were black and I had to wear at my son's medical school graduation. Cool thing: I was his first patient when he took those stitches out the day after his graduation. But these kinds of things happen like all the time! You just crack me up! Love your hard work and efforts always!
I put hooks like those in our bedroom years ago to put clothes that could be worn again without washing and to keep them off the floor. Lots of good tips!
😮Migraine not so funny but your story is hilarious. Family is never pretty all the time for sure but laughter along the way is priceless. Update: I finally decluttered my two tiny kitchen counters, top of refrigerator, utilized 4 drawers for silverware and utensils( all 4 were junk drawers,) put two Dollar tree collapsible boxes under the sink and cleaned out all the junk. This week will be more Dollar Tree Shopping for organizers. Fantastic information! Thank you Gets me motivated.
We use freezer baskets that are wide and have the holes in them. I have it on my phone where things are. Left top side use up, right top chicken, etc. So much easier than digging and food falling out. We vacuummseal meat and date it in top right corner. Also, if you use large gallon size vacuum seal bags, they can be washed and reused. Frig freezer has a basket for breakfast, broths, leftovers and veggies/fruit.
My husband used to have frequent, debilitating migraines. Then he got a piercing in a special place of his ear that actually cured them. I never would have believed it would work! I hope you look into it for yourself. Thanks for the awesome videos!
I love the ending. So true. Sometimes life just goes bonkers all at once. I had a migraine like that once, during a stressful time in my life. First the flashing lights came, then I had to sit down because I could not see. It didn't last too long. Afterward I just felt sick in general. I did not throw up though and haven't had one as bad since (even though things have gotten just as stressful at times).
Hey, Cas! YES, they are ocular migraines, I know them all too well. Migraines with aura, nausea with vomiting, flashing lights, blurred or no vision, outline of the object you're looking at and sensitivity to light and sound. This is ME! I'm under a neurologist care, and take 25 mg of Nortriptyline every night before bed to lessen the frequency of them occurring. They are said to be caused by stress. I've had them for 28 years, since my oldest Son was born, is when they started. Maybe see a neurologist and try and get them under control. It's VERY scary when you're driving and you can feel your vision being blurred. All the best of health to you, Cas. Have a blessed day!! ❤
Sadly, your life will one day be normal so enjoy the weird chaos now. I get flashing lights but never pain, so I am very fortunate. If you couldn't see for quite a while please check in with a doctor! Lots of great suggestions, Cas! Thank you!
Yes - I get auras before migraines too. You have my sympathy. As I have gotten older, they are less frequent, but stress seems to be a factor in their appearance. Moving house is definitely a stress factor for you! Thank you so much for your channel. I have instinctively been doing Ladybug organising, and you have inspired me to get on with decluttering tasks I have been avoiding. Changes are afoot!
Yes Cas, I've had the aura type migraine years ago. Sometimes blood sugar drop can cause this due to stress! I don't think it caused any major brain damage..... lol. But they are miserable. I "grew" out of them. It can be hormonal too. Love your videos along with Dawn the minimal mom. I'm at a stage in life that I want to downsize and make life simpler as I am a widow and live by myself. You are so encouraging. And by the way, I am a Bee. :)
I always love your content but what I actually love most is how very real you are! I absolutely love that you share your life; like this one with the dog poo and your hurling! LOL! Thanks for sharing not only your amazing organization and decluttering tips, but also real life! God bless!
hahaha...yes, I have the aura sometimes with the migraine and my friend's daughter went half blind. Who can explain the crazy and the pain to a non-migrainer?! AND my husband for years said we do EVERYTHING THE HARD WAY: raising 5 kids and now 3 young adults, my mom and 2 golden retrievers; one who swallows socks whole and has had several surgeries (her file at the vet is one of their larger ones!lol) and just daily SITCOM MOMENTS! It's a good thing we can laugh! My mom feels like she now lives in a sitcom at our house! Never a dull minute. It's a great life! Take care you!!!
Love the household management binder!!! Still need to fill it out but it's printed! ..mmAnd need to put it in a binder... And get all the house info from the husband 😂 but that's an amazing safety net ❤
I want to buy, and i know it's only $5, but I'm afraid it will have a bunch of irrelevant categories for a non-homeowner. I'm a single mom, living in a rental apartment, hardly scraping by (financially AND mentally) but I'm trying to reign in the chaos and take back control of my life. I've been working on decluttering, A LOT, and have reached the point of most resistance 😅 budgets and calendars mostly.
@@teagannovak3120 I don't have kids or pets so I didn't use that BUT it's more valuable than something else that could cost $5, we can waste $5 in dollar tree and not even like it when we get home 🤣 but if you know someone that has a part that you don't need ... New gift for them lol
Classic migraine. Awful. Suffered with them most of my life. So sorry for you. Hope puppy is better. Love your channel. I have recently started working a couple of days a week with her because I have ADD and cannot stay focused for more than a couple of hours. I have to take breaks to “stay fresh”. We are accomplishing miracles, I must say. She is a breath of fresh air. I am SO thankful for her. We have done things (organizing) that I never thought were possible at all.
Hi Cass, love your videos, very helpful! YES for the migraines. It is called Ocular Migrain. It is something you definitely should tell your eye doctor about.
Loved your video. Normal migrane- my dh got the flashing stuff. I get the brain zap, little dizzy then pain. I've had the ice pick headaches too not fun. Looking forward to more organizing stuff. I wish you would do a downsizing video for us going to smaller spaces.
Oh yeah! I'm a migraine suffer too and when I've been very stressed they've gotten so bad that I cannot see. So I sympathise. Glad you got Penny's eye sorted. Love your videos.
I have my spices on a turntable and I find it wastes space both on the turntable and in the cabinet (square peg/round hole kinda thing). I like your idea for the trays. Thanks for that tip!
Its always worth staying to the end, to hear your real life experience. This one with the migraine and penny's eye infection sound pretty traumatic. Thankfully after the fact, you can tell the story about it, and somehow make what was a really crap experience , a bit funny. It always easier to laugh about it later, but not during. Thsnks for all the tips and sharing what I call my lucy episodes of life. (From the show, I love Lucy. )
I really struggle with keeping organized and I'm a visual organizer with ADHD who forgets about things if I don't see them. I liked a lot of your tips, ESPECIALLY the one about putting all the bedding sets together in a pillow case, BRILLIANT! It was also nice to see that several of the organizing tips you gave were ones I already do, which I discovered by much trial and error. I just found your channel and it's been nice to see all kinds of easy tips. :)
I am so very sorry that you have migraines. You are such a sweet and wonderful person that should not experience migraines. To me, the worst people in the world deserve migraines. You described them exactly!!! They are horrific. No one can understand them until they have one. I've had them since I was a child and I'm 55 now. Sensitivity to lights is the first indicator for me. Then the nausea starts bubbling from deep within my body like an underground volcano. You fight to keep it from erupting but it's gonna erupt. I keep those green ''puking bags' from the hospital in my car. I see a wonderful neurologist now and have only 5-6 per month (I used to have 15-20). Best wishes to you, your family, and Penny.
Which size bins do you have side by side in your freezer? I have the same side by side refrigerator and love this idea.
I love them, but I live in Germany, so it seems I can't get them
Dear Cass, don't you want to emigrate to Germany? I wish you were within reach❣ I love your style❣
3:00
You need to see a neurologist. I get these, you will be alright with the correct care. An optician deals with the eye, but these are coming from the brain. I’ve been suffering for 20 years, just happened yesterday in my retina specialist’s office. I had to beg him not to call an ambulance. Told him it’s normal for me. I don’t vomit, I see intricate designs like oriental rug designs lol. We’re all different! Please see a neurologist. God love you!❤
"purse = trash bag with handles" 😅 "sheets = hot mess sandwich!" 😂 I love your videos.
My purse is NOT a trash bag. I reset it every Saturday before going to church, and I make sure it's properly stocked with needed items.
I love it and I love you so much 💗💗💗
:)
I get them and hate them. It’s like I can technically see, and yet everything is a kaleidoscope. 😳😵💫
@@Merry-v1c yes that’s a good description of the sensation.. it can be disconcerting especially the first time getting them. Shouldn’t last long, if it does, see an eye doctor 👩🏼⚕️
Migraines can also be hormonal, noticed my migraines was synced with my ovulation. It was worse when on birth control.
I also have this type of migraine, first time was scary but after that I just sit and wait for them to pass.
@@PysslisSame! I am currently going through peri-menopause, and the thought of no more migraines is helping me through it all. (My mom was the same.)
You know what’s awesome about these tips? They’re forgiving, uncomplicated and delivered without judgment. When someone is at the overwhelm stage and beginning their journey to better systems of organization, they should begin with small wins like these.
I found that eating several pieces of crystallized (candied) ginger can stop a migraine. God bless you and yours❤
Wow thank you! I never would have thought of that ❤
Ginger does seem to help! ❤️
That’s some story about Penny and a great example of why we need to be organized
I love it!! That section is great! I love how real and honest she is!! It doesn't have to be perfect.
Me too It was funny and cute! @SmallhouseModelsLLC
Yeah Cass you are so hilarious!!
For my papers I bought a dish rack from dollar tree and bent all them up and added 6 files. Then I hung it on the wall. Best thing I ever did for myself.
I love that you don’t fold. That never occurred to me.
Using baking powder containers for the other powders you will be measuring with a spoon is genius.
I absolutely love this idea. I no longer bake much, but this is sensational.
Thanks for sharing. Someone should have come up with this years ago!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk about having migraines. I’m sorry you have to go through that! It sounds terrible. Much love ✌🏻❤️
You're cracking me up!! @doveandolive1153 Its holey underwear, only God probably wears holy underwear 😂😂😂😂😂
Hehe. I find underwear has a life cycle - it's the good underwear, then the casual underwear/gym underwear, then it's 'period underwear' - I now have a little box in my drawer wear the undies at the end of their life cycle live.
I miss you going to people's homes and helping them declutter and organize.
To prepare for future decluttering sessions, try this:
Get a pad of small Post-its or a roll of painter's tape and mark them with the current month and year.
I was a Health Inspector and you are entirely correct in this.
The necklace one- a word of caution, if you have cats, this is a no-go! lol I have a full length mirror jewelry box that closes, and I even have to keep it locked because my cat will open it to play with my jewelry.
But as always, a lot of great tips
I agree! Push pins are horrible for kids, cats, and dogs to swallow.
Also get bloodwork done to
look for possible clues like metabolic markers or vitamin deficits.
I can't tolerate light or noise during them.
that hook for worn-but-not-dirty clothes is such a game changer
The BEST thing I ever did was put inexpensive milk crates in my small chest freezer. Two stack perfectly on top of each other and nothing ever gets lost on the bottom anymore.
No migraines, I am supremely blessed. I want for you to be similarly blessed!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!
Definately see your local neurologist maybe DENT if you have one. Syncope migranes are no joke. Hope you feel better :3
Will do!
The stress, the chaos, the migraines, the crazy pants happenings! Are we related?! Thanks so much Cass! You help me with more than decluttering!❤Thank the Lord for good husbands!😎
Michael's has a super sale every year on the containers! Just need to watch for it. I got mine 75% off
I’ve had migraines since I was 5 years old and I am 53 now! I’m so sorry that you are experiencing this.
It sounds like you are having (ocular migraines, no pain) and also classic migraines with aura ( aura, visual disturbance; then the knife in the eye feeling pain with or without vomiting.)
The main thing that you will want to remember is to TIME YOUR MIGRAINE when the aura starts.
I love stayed till the end the most! The real Cass is the bomb & hilarious!😂
I love the way you are so down to earth, Cass. Much love and hugs xxx❤❤❤
Your freedom is wonderful. No shame zones. You KNOW how to roll and laugh at life's speed bumps. LOVE Love your work.
I had three young ones for many years way back in a time where we had no access to other people for tips and sharing. Every once in awhile, I see your show ideas that I came up back then too, just by trial and error to keep my own sanity. This show helps make me feel like I did do a good job, considering... Yet, TOO many times I think, I WISH I had thought of that! lol. Trips down Memory Lane.
But it's more. This is All portable knowledge to other family members or to share. From empty nesters like me, now downsizing, or getting your parents into assisted living... a lifetime of Great stuff here. Thank you. Remind busy moms to share your stuff and give everyone some visual relief and vacation when they walk into a room or come back from running errands like crazy. It's really a gift that you have and are giving to us.
I'm just thrilled that you are so successful for however long your season lasts! If you enjoy it, keep doing it. If it's a burden, find the new thing. Your kids will grow and your seasons will change but whatever you're doing you can still make this work. Never before Has there ever been, and never will there ever be, another one like you. Never forget that.
This show-yes-it's the new version of TV on YT - and you are a show host. This is a lifelong thing, if you want it to be. Just keep morphing it into what works. Going on the road, so to speak, to put yourself in different scenarios when you get bored or need new content. Yes,You already do it, but even as you age, this can still be something fresh and fun. You have a niche that Will always be needed. With new products and trends, it's going to refresh itself, as long as you are game. I just wanted to encourage you with that.
This show is just timeless fun to just watch, and is training for us Messies. I feel like I went to Messies church! Lol You make my ♡ SING. Keep up the GREAT work!
PEOPLE-If you don't absolutely TREASURE this lovely, funny young woman, keep listening. It's a guarantee that you will ! ❤❤❤ Like and Subscribe and Join! AWARD Winner in my book.
Best organizing tips ever
Awe, your kind comment made my day, thank you.
$5.99 from where? You mentioned price multiple times. Never said brand or store.
Uhh by
Me too but they are still scary
I just deep cleaned my whole bathroom listening to your video. Thanks for the motivation. ❤❤🎉🎉
I love it when you don’t want to say «where the sun don’t….» but then you straight up say «rectum». 😂😂 love your stories❤
Things like this are call life!
⛈️ When it rains it pours. I tell myself that the crazy, stressful days are to help me appreciate and enjoy the mundane days. Thanks for all you do and just being you, Cas! 😁
Tension headaches - never a migraine - thank God!
Yes!!! I get those migraines. They are awful!! With me before the hurling, I lose my speech and can’t put words or sentences together. It’s really scary. It takes a few days to recover too. Prayers for you cuz I know I need them when I have a migraine. Great tips though. ❤❤❤
That’s what happens to me, minus the hurling. It’s very scary.
@@suzifitzpatrick1802 yes. As soon as I start seeing the sparkling light I just want to cry because I know what I’m on for. I’m sorry this happens to you also.
Yes! I get ocular migraines and have for years. Frankly, I’m grateful they are painless.
Love this video. I have a french door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Would love to see how you would organize that type of freezer. Thanks for great videos!
Yes! It’s like a black hole, I’m thinking bins would help for this too since things tend to get lost and forgotten at the bottom. (For me anyway)
I put smaller packages and items that we use frequently in the smaller drawer on top of the freezer (veggies, fruit, frozen meals)
Tips for a chest freezer would be great too. We went in with friends to buy beef in bulk from a butcher, and I’m going to get some dollar store baskets or bins with handles to put all the ground beef in one, steaks in another, roasts in another, etc.
@@messybunonabudget8773 black hole is a good description! Thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated.
Getting that bedside table under control is up there with bedmaking to start your day on a positive note
Use mine for squash too! Also great for pickled onions. Scoop ‘em out the jar, no rolling off and the excess vinegar drains out the hole.
I use my melon baller to scoop the greens off the tops of strawberries. It's so much faster and keeps more of the strawberry than using a knife.
I use it to scoop out the apple core when it’s cut in half
@@swrigley9861 Ooooooh, I’m giving that a try!
@@swrigley9861I do that too!!!
So glad I found our channel! These are great ideas!!!
I’m sure moving stress is a huge factor contributing to your migraines 😣 looking forward to seeing you new home ! Also despite you are looking sooooo good Cas ☺️ I really like the clean make up look and your hair looks fantastic . Looking effortlessly pretty
I was going to say the same thing!
Thanks for the 30 minutes to clutter improvements activities!!!!!
Can’t wait to see the new house!!
This one session actually has helped me.I live in a mobile home so storage is practically nil. This will help me.
🤗BRAVO AWARD🏆👏👏👏! This was really fun and very helpful. Thank you!!! Quick and easy. Getting started NOW!
I found that the best way to organize spices is to put all green together and the same with red and yellow. Makes for a lot less to paw through
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of sorting spices by color but that makes a lot of sense!
I sort mine by sweet or savory, with the seasoned salts and the peppers in their own category.
I love the ‘stayed to the end’ episodes. You are so funny and we cannot make these things up!
