metroid zero mission and golden sun 2, I could never get GS2 to run on vba properly, it always chugged so bad, so I really hope it comes to this service
I agree, it's very refreshing actually. So many YT channels are very negative and everytime something gets released they crap all over it. Sure, there can be legit criticism but darn, the "negative nancy" routine gets old!
I grew up poor but babysat a spoiled middle-class kid. I patiently waited for him to abandon the gameboy for something else and I quickly became addicted, lol. Of course, he couldn’t stand seeing me play with his toy, so I would go through withdrawals until he forgot about it again. Great times.
While I'm no gamer or have any connection to the GameBoy, I just love seeing you geek out over things like this. When I get older, I'm glad to know that it's alright to still be a dork. 😄But man, that broken reaction is still hilarious!
The Gameboy was the first system I've ever bought so I'm super excited for it. Last year I said " Nintendo just add Gameboy and Gameboy color games to basic online and add advance games to the online+ ". They finally did it but unfortunately I already have most of these games on my 3ds but man that alone in the dark is worth it alone to buy.
The GameBoy Advance is a really underrated handheld that had some really great games like Mario and Luigi and Minish Cap. I'm so glad I can get to play those again and relive the nostalgia I had for those.
It wasn't really that underrated, it was very successful and those two games were big hits! If you want truly something underrated, probably a Neo Geo Pocket or something lol.
i don't see how the GBA was underrated it was extremely successful, even the superior powered PSP didn't blow it out of the water they where neck and neck in sales
Nice to catch this video so early! I haven't watched any Nintendo direct react videos yet, so this is the first I'm hearing about the Game Boy/Advance coming to Switch. I'm excited for the GB Advance games as there are a lot of great games on it. I didn't have many Game Boy games so that would be fun to try the classics I've missed.
It would be awsome...if unlikley, I dont think we get a mainline game. Spin Offs? Certenly, I mean where getting the Trading Card game so im sure Pokemon Pinball is a valid option, maybe even Mystery Dungoen Team Red. But any of the mainline games?...eeeehhhh we see. It certenly would be awsome. My girlfriend is realy hoping fore Emereld
well Pokemon trading card GAME on GBA is announced or coming if im not mistaken already announced. And I think soon they will have to announce Pokemon Gen 1 on Switch pass, or at least Gen 2/3... This will be awesome. I can't wait to play trading card Pokemon on switch but then the ORIGINALS on Switch OLED boosted fps/res a bit? + wider screen = WOW :D
I like that local play can emulate the link cable multiplayer functionality, many take for granted that now we can play these games anywhere together on multiple Switches if it were there before. May I emphasize also, it's a massive leap from having to use tethered cables to achieve that too, now all seamless and wireless!
Man Andre, you unlocked some memories name dropping Service Merchandise. Were you fortunate to have the Handy Boy for your Gameboy? Between that addon, the case, games, and all the double A batteries we used to carry, it was more like working out than playing games.
The original Game Boy was my first gaming console, and started my love affair with handheld gaming. So many fantastic original Game Boy games. SML, Link's Awakening, Gargoyle's Quest, Super C, the best version of Bionic Commando, R-Type pops the capacitors, Metroid 2 I'll love you forever.
Thank you for being the second person to remember service merchandise! I swear was the only place to get Sega CD games back in the day! I'm still game gear guy but I do love the game boy games as well
I’ve been playing GB Tetris all afternoon when I should have been doing chores 😅 Now to cross my fingers for all of the main series GB(A) Pokémon games with compatibility with Pokémon Home and Stadium 1 and 2.
Yeah dude, I'm pumped too. I bought a handheld emulator so I could show the kids all the old Gameboy classics. They loved it, now they can get it on their Switch!
I hope with all my nostalgic heart, mind, and soul that we get the classic Pokémon games on there for both gbc and gba ya never know maybe dreams do come true and man what a true Gameboys Heaven this will be
They made super Mario 3D for switch with Mario 64 and Galaxy, I’m pretty set forever now (just finished 64, took me forever, and slowly going through and enjoying galaxy!)
I'm very excited about this prospect, because I adore the Game Boy line. There's a special purity to the simplistic pick-up-and-play nature of a lot of those games. And on top of that, you don't really see Nintendo celebrating their handheld history nearly as much as their home consoles, despite their handhelds universally selling better. Plus, with the subscription, it opens up the door to trying new games that none of us would've considered if we had to pay for them individually. I'm annoyed that I'm genuinely tempted to get the expansion pack now.
The Wii U was the teammate who stumbled on the hurdles. I would increase the levels of movement in your comparison. Game Boy Advance was sprinting. Amazing system. Not sure what to say about Switch
11:23 I’m not a dragonball fan but legendary super warrior on the gameboy is MY JAM THE MOST UNDERRATED OVERLOOKED DBZ GAME IN HISTORY Out of all the dragonball games no one talks about that one I still have it One of the few games I didn’t lose
I was able to catch some of your stream of the Nintendo Direct announcements and it's great to see your enthusiasm hasn't lessened at all. This is a great idea by Nintendo to preserve older titles and introduce new players to the classics.
my family was poor so i missed out of the gameboy but i've been wanting a handheld experience of those games... i can't wait. (i'm just not sure about the online shit.... i don't have wifi at home. i home i just need to connect once)
If switch ever allows for downloads, I’m all down. I just hate that you have to pay for a subscription to access these games and when you cancel, you lose access to them.
I'm personally very much bigger on PlayStation but man I still have plenty of memories from when I used to buy GBA games from GameStop, Target, and even once from Toys R Us back during/around 2006
I felt the same way during the GB/GBC/GBA reveals, been playing SMA4 e reader levels for years and I'm so happy they added the last version of SMB3 on the Switch. Now we finally have the NES, SNES, and GBA SMB3 for the first time together portable.
So far I’m most happy to play Mario and Luigi superstar saga and it honestly has me really wanting to have bowser inside stories on switch but idk how there gonna put Ds games on the switch Lmao 😂
GBA games made my childhood. Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, F-Zero...was just thinking about revisiting the Golden Sun series and now this will be a perfect time to get back into it. And I'm excited to finally try Minish Cup. I feel bad for sleeping on it back in the day. It's been great to share this excitement with you, Andre!
I had the Advance and literally only got Megaman battle network 1 lol. Got the Pac-man pinball game from a family member years after, but I played Megaman so much it still wasn't wasted money.
This is def the best gaming news of the wk imo, so happy with the games that are included for starters. def looking forward to 1st Super Mario Land game as well as Donkey Kong '94.
Tetris on Game Boy is the first game I remember playing. Mario Land 2 was the first game that was mine. My parents also had TNNT Fall of The Foot and Mario Land 1. But I sucked at Mario Land 1. And some maybe you haven't heard of, or maybe you have.
Service Merchandise, Montgomery Ward, yeah I remember them type of stores that would have their own section at the local mall. I used to get a lot of Gameboy time in at the kiosk right by the Wal-Mart electronics section. The toy section, electronics, and the arcade section before the Wal-Mart entrance. That's where you would find me as a youngster any time I had to go to the strore. Lol
I still have my Game Boy Color. I played that thing so much and went through so many AA batteries… My parents were never thrilled with me when I asked to buy more batteries. 😅
1:02 the gba startup sound was like a dagger. all I want is Castlevania Circle of the Moon on my switch so I can leave the music playing and abandon the game as soon as I hit one of the stages with Sinking Old Sanctuary as the theme. that's literally as far as I ever got back then. (the color palette didn't help, so the switch screen should actually make this game playable for me.)
I loved it when nintendo announced the GBA, CBC and the original GB for online it's great to relive some of these classics and I myself have hold memories of the game boy color as I got that for Christmas with pokemon gold version.
game boy games i would love to see: - Donkey Kong Land 2 - F-1 Race - Final Fantasy Adventure - Final Fantasy Legend 2 - Killer Instinct - Mega Man IV and V - Metal Gear Solid ( GBC ) - Operation C ( Contra ) - Revenge of the 'Gator - Super RC Pro-AM - Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams ( GBC ) - Top Rank Tennis ( one of the best portable tennis games ever !!) - Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
Everyone at work thought I would be freaking out because I bring my gba to work everyday to play on lunch. To their surprise, I actually couldn't care less because I have every gbc and gba game on my everdrives. Bit for those who don't have those, I am very excited for everyone and am so happy the Gameboy series continues to be as loved as ever
I never owned a Game Boy; original, color, advance or otherwise. But I DID play Pokemon Red/Blue on a friend's Game Boy Color and I was hooked!!! I don't remember feeling as addicted to a game than I did with that. I also remember playing Super Mario Bros 2 on Game Boy Advance at the local K-Mart in the day and my mind was blown that a hand held could pull that off with the added updates they gave that game on the Advance.
Rubu, sapphire, emerald, golden sun. Fire emblem, metabots, dextor lab, all the Powerpuff girls games, toy story, men in black, and so much more. It could suck and still be fun back then on the game boy/color, and advance. So happy.
your reaction to the announcement of Gameboy games and GBA games on Switch, that was my exact reaction to the announcement of *Metroid Prime Remastered*, that was my "FINALLY" "I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SO MANY YEARS" and it is for all intents and purposes a remake and not just an HD upscale type of remaster
I think why ninendo takes their time with releasing stuff for their legacy consoles is that they have to tweak it for the switch and licensing as well.
What Game Boy or Game Boy Advance games would you like to see them add to Nintendo Switch?
Metroid zero mission
Gotta get those sonic advance games back
GBA version of Cory in the House
I really just need all my old pokemon games. I'm a simple girl.
metroid zero mission and golden sun 2, I could never get GS2 to run on vba properly, it always chugged so bad, so I really hope it comes to this service
I’m jealous of Andre’s happy childhood nostalgia. Mine is full of batteries dying and blowing cartridges that never worked.
No cartridges or removable batteries this time. 💣💥
Andre's enthusiasm is so infectious. I have memories like I'm sure many do of playing Pokemon on Game Boy.
I agree, it's very refreshing actually. So many YT channels are very negative and everytime something gets released they crap all over it. Sure, there can be legit criticism but darn, the "negative nancy" routine gets old!

@@KatieLHall-fy1hw crazy contagious lol
In a way, the lag enhances the reaction
JoyCon boyz for life ! 🫶🏽
Real ones will know this. Rip king 👑
Joyconboyz!
I remember getting a Gameboy in 1991. I was able to buy Dr. Mario with nothing 200 Kool-Aid points from the packages.
The Gameboy was the first system I've ever bought so I'm super excited for it. Last year I said " Nintendo just add Gameboy and Gameboy color games to basic online and add advance games to the online+ ". just hearing the gb and gba sounds got my heart jumping with joy
My very first gaming memories are with my GBA. I am so, so excited for this! Especially Golden Sun!
The Game Boy, and GBA were milestones in gaming. Their library had something for everyone. So awesome to see them return. + A vast Library to tap into
Andre was so hyped twitch couldn’t process it 😂
Service merchandise, that's a throwback for sure. I'm so old. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
this news was so big youtube remembered I was subbed to you and recommended this video to me
If any of the GB or GBA Pokemon games are added in the future, I’m all in on that expansion pass.
Fingers crossed for leaf green. 🤞
It would be awsome...if unlikley, I dont think we get a mainline game. Spin Offs? Only need the over priced expansion pas for gba, gb available to all that has Nintendo online at the perfect price of 20 bucks a year
I like that local play can emulate the link cable multiplayer functionality, many take for granted that now we can play these games anywhere together on multiple Switches if it were there before. Hi Andre thanks for the video. Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️

Gameboy was my first real game system with tetris and super mario land... last night i was that kid that got the game boy for the first time.
2:49 the twitch reaction is so accurate cuz I was glitching irl when the Gameboy was announced 😂

Game Boy is such a nostalgic piece of childhood to me…
I was able to catch some of your stream of the Nintendo Direct announcements and it's great to see your enthusiasm hasn't lessened at all. This is a great idea by Nintendo to preserve older titles and introduce new players to the classics.
Wow Andre, this Game Boy become nostalgic I never see

Glad to see the gba getting some love from Nintendo.

This is so great!
That ”Finally!" should be a meme!
I had the Advance and literally only got Megaman battle network 1 lol. Got the Pac-man pinball game from a family member years after, but I played Megaman so much it still wasn't wasted money.
Andre's footage looks like a storyboard animatic
This is def the best gaming news of the wk imo, so happy with the games that are included for starters. def looking forward to 1st Super Mario Land game as well as Donkey Kong '94.

Good video Andre. I'm excited to play more sprite based games.
If they release fire red and leaf green I’m sold.
They gotta add in those classic pokemon games! Looking forward to Pokemon Direct on Pokemon Day to see what gets added! :)
Awesome stuff man

- Donkey Kong Land 2
- F-1 Race
- Final Fantasy Adventure
- Final Fantasy Legend 2
- Killer Instinct

- Revenge of the 'Gator
- Super RC Pro-AM
- Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams ( GBC )
- Top Rank Tennis ( one of the best portable tennis games ever !!)
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
I hope more GBA games come on the switch like Pokémon Ruby and sapphire so I can do nuzlocke challenges, and kingdom hearts chain of memories.
My first handheld was actually a Sega Game Gear, later I got into Pokémon and got a Gameboy Color for Christmas.
I know they will not add Sonic Advanced to the GBA emulation but a collection of all three would be amazing.
Why wouldn't they? They already have Sega games on NSO.
@@16BitKamek There are so many other iconic GBA games that will get on NSO first. It all depends on Dimps who developed them in the first place.
@@fataleflare Dimps only developed them, they don't own those games. Sega does and they can do whatever they want with them

Holy shit this is a great channel!!!! Keep up the great work!
I played the hell out of Pokémon blue on the OG gameboy.
Sounds cool! Love your energy man!
I've been waiting for GB games on Switch for awhile. So right there with ya.
Gameboy Rulz! '90s are making a hard comeback
Can't wait for Fusion to come out. I wonder if they're gonna do something like a blue tooth Gameboy Gameboy Mini Gameboy Advance kind of controller.
