I've never thought of the Excelsior class to look "evil" before. It's crazy how much perspective can change things.
It is still a heavy cruiser and I he best federation ships are as elegant as they are deadly
Hmm, I thought during the time of the movies it was considered a battleship. Especially in roll playing and computer games(Though those aren't cannon.) Where do you get heavy cruiser? Are you sure that's not its designation from the TNG era? @@SuperGamefreak18
Yeah, imagine what it looked like to an enemy Klingon or Romulan. It's just as terrifying as their ships.
it helps that they gave the Excelsior those hideous non canon canons from JJTrek into Farceness
@@user-fe1gb9uc1tit's Frame for frame recreation of that battle.
The RCS thrusters when the Enterprise fell out of warp was an excellent touch
Ohhhh, those maneuvering thrusters to stop the uncontrolled spin was a beautiful attention to detail.
Yea, dude understands physics!
I LOVE the effect you made for the nacelles as they go to warp. A lot of the choices made in this were INSPIRED.
It was interesting, but just from a nerd perspective, I can't see why the warp coils would light up like in such a way.
Inspired by JJ
@@ClunkerSlim well when an explanation is thought of then that’ll be why, just like any other explanation for anything in Star Trek lol
@@ClunkerSlim Plasma being pumped through power conduits? So, light and possibly heat to show that energy buildup? It looks nice either way.
@@ClunkerSlimThe nacelles lighting up like that was what Gene intended for when the ships go to warp, but alas, budget/time constraints at the time the models were made disallowed that. But now we can see what it's supposed to look like ❤
The nacelle power-up should become standard in all future Trek productions. Brilliant concept.
Agreed !
Yup! The staggered boot-up effect looks dynamic.
"Tell me about that ship."
"Excelsior-class. Two times the size, three times the speed. Overthought plumbing with easily stoppable drains."
Wasn’t expecting to get shit scared by an Excelsior of all ships but you’ve done it.
People often forget how much the Excelsior dwarfed every ship that came before it in.
@@darwinxavier3516And given how Starfleet kept using and upgrading it over the next 100 years, she’s a brute.
Excelsiors, Connie’s, and Miranda’s, the most beautiful lasses to ever Grace the Stars.
The Excelsior (class) was nerfed of her true next-gen capabilities and made to be weak because TNG came about. Even in the Voyager Flashback episode, they had Excelsior being bullied by standard D7/K'tinga battle cruisers like it was any oridinary Starfleet vessel ...
By the time DS9 got into the whole Dominion war arc, the Excelsior class was further relegated to weekly cannon fodder along with the Miranda's ... if Berman & Braga had their way, they would have thrown in a dozen Connie classes to be destroyed also.
@@Beuwen_The_DragonFor me it's the Sovereign. There's just something about it's shape and profile that's so beautiful to me. And she's a total beast as well.
The warp field grilles illuminating like that is VERY cool.
The Enterprise's thrusters firing to stop her tumbling is also very cool.
Really gives her _life_ 👍!
The Enterprise’s thrusters firing to level herself out is a very nice detail.
This Star Trek recreation in Blender is nothing short of mesmerizing. The level of detail and craftsmanship you've put into bringing the Star Trek universe to life is truly commendable. The attention to authenticity and the captivating visuals make it an immersive experience. Your dedication to the project shines through, creating a truly mesmerizing rendition of the Star Trek world.
ABSOLUTELY !
I remember what Captain Styles said in Star Trek 3:
"If he tries to escape with warp drive, he's really in for a shock."
Now this is what into darkness should have been. I love the fact that you can actually see the shields!
This is what into darkness was.
into darkness was better
@@NippyNepbooooooooo!!!
Give respect where it’s due, Into Darkness did a great job with this scene.
@@themysticalcolby Loved the USS Vengeance.
Excellent! The Excelsior has never looked more menacing.
This is utterly BEAUTIFUL! I adore how the saucer designs look in this setting. Especially how the Excelsior looks super menacing just like the Vengeance from the kelvin timeline.
I adore the enterprise. She may be old, but she's still nimble and sleek. I also love the detail of the thrusters going into overdrive to stop the Enterprises spin. That was nice to see.
I also love the background and warp effects. They're neat aswell! This was definitely worth the wait.
Headcanon: The Vengeance is the maxxed out F-U version what was later brought to production as a toned down and renamed Excelsior Class.
Given its pretty (heavily) implied that the Vengeance is the KU excelsior (Transwarp, Automated Systems, "bigger-faster", very similar structural lines (the engine to body hull ratio is very excelsior) gets disabled by scotty in a virtually an identical way) it really does fit to think of the Prime universe Excelsior as having the potential to be just as 'mean'.
@@DocWolph
Oh goodness, that makes a lot of sense and is kinda scary to think about. Like, the excelsior is only a couple refits away from being a vengeance like ship. That’s some pretty menacing stuff
@@SquirrellyTime
Yeah. She was a pretty tough ship for her time.
Reminds me of that one moment in Picard S3 where the intrepid slowly rises up to face the Titan.
Weirdly, even though the Intrepid is probably the size or even bigger than the Excelsior, the Excelsior just feels so much more menacing.
@@DocWolph - Works for _ME_ ! Head cannon SET - *_ENGAGE_* !!
I'll never forget sitting in the theaters nearly eleven years ago watching Star Trek Into Darkness with my brother. When THAT scene happened, my brother turned to me and excitedly asked, "Is that the Excelsior!?"
Clearly we weren't the only ones thinking that.
they might as well just called it that.
Absolutely gorgeous... The little details, the thrusters firing to stabilize the Enterprise after it falls out of warp, the nacelles coming online... I'm in awe.
AND the Warp Corridor _itself ! I completely _agree_ - absolutely GORGEOUS !!
All this proves is that the prime universe ship designs were significantly better and could have been just as daunting.
T R U E
These two minutes were better than all three JJ movies. Excelsior would actually make an incredibly intimidating aggressor ship against a Connie.
Hey Beyond was pretty good, probably the most "hope for the future despite adversity" Star Trek in quite some time.
Actually, the _Lakota,_ an Excelsior with a 24th century refit, was in an even fight with the _Defiant._
Honestly, it feels like we, as Star Trek Fans, have really been getting the rough end of the stick when it comes to the new Content we get. Actually having a show that shows off the classic ships, with more realistic engagements, and all the attention to detail. I really wish Paramount actually cared about us, and not just our money.
@@gordonhowett7529 Strange New Worlds was a step in the right direction. Now that they're recasting/rebooting the TOS era characters, what I really want is an _Excelsior_ show, set in the 2290s after ST6 Undiscovered Country. You have Sulu as the captain, and can create all new characters for the rest of the crew... except for a young Ensign Tuvok.
Man I agree wholeheartedly! My favourite ST games always tend to come from that era, namely Starfleet Command and Klingon Academy. So I definitely have a love for that era and would really like to see more done in that time. Absolutely love the red militaristic uniforms too. @@windwalker5765
love how this demonstrates how scary starfleet can look from the receiving end
I love the TMP-style streaks when the ships fly by at warp
Indeed - ALL of the attention to _DETAIL_ is just ABSOLUTELY _STUNNING_ !
Adore the little touch of the the RCS thrusters burning hard to stop the ship spinning when it drops out of warp, a great little detail!
YOU GOTTA DO MORE OF THESE, Making these old ladies look new and aggressive, TOP NOTCH!
LOVE the RCS burns. trek needs to show more of that.
The warp glow on the nacelles looks so cool! The charge up so amazing!
Wonderful! I love how the nacelles start up.
I do love the fact it feels like it would have been better than what we saw in the Abrams films for redoing the design of the Enterprise and a fitting ship having the Excelsior be the one hunting it and firing at the Enterprise.
Excellent work. Ever since Picard Season 3 I've seen so many folks try to make different ships look as pissed off and mean as the Intrepid. You are the first person to really succeed at it.
starfleet online has these similar ships. very good. have you seen them? on yt
And found this very difficult because he use a hero ship like a villain ship!! Awesome
@@GNCSACpretty much even more impressive because in Star Trek 3, where it was supposedly an antagonist when Enterprise was making a run for it, all it did was ended up conking out its own warp drive due to Scotty’s sabotage, this combined with its more “heroic/good” feats in Star Trek 6 resulted in basically a stark contrast seen here where it really is daunting and intimidating and pretty much not being treated as a joke as it had from its incident.
The animation on the nacells is AMAZING. This whole thing is amazing
When Excelsior appeared, for a second I hoped that a Galaxy-Class would appear right behind it to protect the Constitution
Great work, loved it!
me too or an Odyssey :D
"Kirk, I told you not to do this... and now you'll never sit in the Captain's Chair again!"
Dude, I REALLY like your style! Very unique.
I like the mixture of ST3 + Into Darkness and then an homage to ST2 with the nebula? Really cool.
I hope we’ll see more Star Trek retold through your eye.
Edit: Just rewatched it again… the detail with the maneuvering thrusters… chef’s kiss!
Okay, as someone who loves Star Trek into darkness and the USS Vengeance, having the excelsior in its place is something have ALWAYS wanted to see. Well done!
I honestly thought the Vengeance *WAS* the Excelsior until they called it the Vengeance.
Now I really REALLY want you to do the whole movie. Just wow. The torpedo launchers, the charging effect of the nacelles, just everything is absolutely perfect. Not to mention the sound effects and choice of music. Incredible.
Chuckled at the little "NYY-OPE!" sound as the Enterprise hops the heck outta there at warp.
Good gravy! This is my favorite scene from Into Darkness, and it's amazing to see with the prime universe. Proof the old designs are just as cinematic for today as they once were with the right angles and effects.
SICK! Glad to see this made it to completion.
It just proves the fundamental misconception that the Kelvin films fell into. That Kirk, Bones, & Spock are nothing with out our lady and in her refit A. Gives me chills with no dialogue/ music cues whatsoever.
That was pretty damn awesome.
As an Excelsior fanboy, this video is truly badass
Really well done! I love the Constitution refit! My favorite ship!
What's so interesting is that fans can make more compelling stories and scenes that the "professionals." Shows the power of inspiration. @TU that's is an awesome scene - I wish it was in the movie!
This was so well composed! The ambience and modelling/animation really enhanced what Into Darkness had if not better. I not a huge fan of Kelvin Timeline, but it does have some good starship scenes. You paid attention to details and utilized the Excelsior exteriors ports effectively. The immediate chase scene is highly enjoyable! All in all, well done!
Seeing those RCS thrusters pop into action after coming out of warp....dang! Snazzy AF!
I'm late to this but I loved how when the Excelsior warped in front of Enterprise you didn't crash zoom back, but kept the frame and just panned up. Made Excelsior menacing. Well done.
God the vapour coming off the phaser canon, and the nacelle effect before warping. Beautiful.
That there is talent! Good job!
Everything from the lighting to the movements.
Well done, what an homage to both ships. I like how it’s NX-2000 Excelsior. Cpt. Styles is possibly in command.. 🤔
When I was a kid the Constitution class on TV and its beautiful refit on the big screen were all there was to be seen for Federation starships. Then we got the Oberth and Miranda classes, which seemed to compliment the Constitution type nicely. And then the Excelsior showed up. It was classified as a battleship, made sense..
Grissom and Reliant had their very distinct looks, but now we got to directly compare the very similar Enterprise and Excelsior. The progress of Starfleet..
What a treat this video was for anyone who enjoyed the introduction of all these new ships, especially the Excelsior..
Magnificent. This is where you tube comes alive. A true fan sharing his time and love, to gives a moments entertainment to others. With people like you, our great sci fi franchises will never die. Thank you.
WOW! Brilliant work. Star Trek at it's finest. Using the Excelsior class as an antagonist is a stroke of genius - it is not designed to 'look evil or a bully' but when in the wrong hands, it is very scary. I second all the other comments regarding the thrusters, shields and warp effects.
The best addition to the trek style for me was the way you had the warp coils power up. Bro that was sexy.
RIGHT! 💯🔥🙌
Well, that would have made for a shorter STIII!
Lovely work. Absolutely fantastic to see the Excelsior like this.
Minor gripe - the smoke from the guns shouldn't be falling down in zero G and would just move in a straight fuzz in a vacuum. But this is Trek not the Expanse so we'll let that one go!
Super super impressive.
Enterprise vs Excelsior? Shatner vs Takai? They REALLY need to let this beef go. Involving their starships is escalating this feud to a dangerous level.
Been very looking forward to this. Looking amazing
would love to see an extended Enterprise vs reliant battle in this style
This is spectacular. The warp nacelle power up effect is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.
Nice work! I never realised until Picard S3 that some of these starships are terrifying from the right angles if you don't happen to be part of the federation!
Absolutely stunning. The framing, music and the little touches like the nacelles energising. Put's that movie to shame.
So damn good! The best fan animation I've seen in a long time!
The movement, the explosions 👌🏻
God dammit I love both ships, can't wait for the next bit.
Those thrusters AWESOME
everything about this is mind-bogglingly good, the music choice, the sound effects, the warp engine animations, the shield impact animations, the ship movements, the camera pan and depth of field effects, the facts that you use the darkness of space and its extreme contrast to add to the feel of loneliness, and in this case helplessness, you know sci-fi man, well done.
The 70's Star Trek designs are the most beautiful space ships imaginable. The balance and logic of their designs far surpass any other designs in science fiction as a whole, and I am saying that as a person who doesn't really have a favorite sci-fi show or movie series.
In an alternate reality, where Captain Sulu went rogue and evil...oh my!
Really great work. As many have said......that you managed to make Excelsior look menacing.....
Now THAT was impressive!!!!!!!!!!
This is what they should have done on the big screen. it works so well, the same designs that we know and love
Excellent illustration of why the Constution is a "heavy cruiser" and the Excelsior is a "battleship". ❤
Back in the day Roddenberry said the Enterprise heavy cruiser was for all intentions a battleship in her firepower and durability but the Federation didn't like to use the old battleship moniker because it sounded hostile or something.
@@331Grabber yeah, I think the destroyer, cruiser, battleship etc. labels are used mostly in games like Star Fleet Battles- it does fit the peaceful exploration thing better
@@Boneworm852
Ah. I remember playing Star Fleet battles. And the FASA tactical combat simulator.
Scotty disses and Sabotaged excelsior, now excelsior's pissed off! 😂
Awesome work! This is how the movie should have been made❤
Proof that you don't need to retcon ship aesthetics to make it look modern.
Brilliantly done. Perhaps the two best looking starships in one shot.
incroyable !!!! c'est magnifique !
I've been following this for a while and it's spectacular. Well done!
Really beautiful colors. Nice blend of Trek ships with the JJ camera.
that's a wonderful transition to the mutara nebula at the end I wish the vengeance was an excelsior class
Damn this is good. Well done. The 1701 nacelle power up effect is awesome.
Oh this is fantastic and reminds me of how much I wanted to see the vengeance refit as the excelsior in Beyond.
DAMN! This is REALLY good!!
Wow. Just wow. What a time to be alive and see amazing work like this
I often said what we saw in Into Darkness with the Vengeance taking out the Enterprise at Warp is pretty much exactly what we would have seen in Search for Spock had Scotty not sabotaged the Excelsior. Just like we see here :3
Wow.....wow......wowowowoowowow......this is exactly why the production studios should be getting people like this to make movies...they would save a ton of money and get a 100 percent better product....dude, I would watch a full length movie on nothing but a space chase and battle of this companies material.... bravo......a standing O......bravo...it lookwd like everything was thought of.
I LOVE this video scene of Star Trek, Excellent work, TU
So many nice touches, absolutley WONDERFUL!!!!
Wow, wow, wow! That's amazing. This beats put anything Kurtzman and JJ have done or could ever dream of doing!
When a less than two minutes video is beyond better than the same sequence of events from "Into Darkness" 😂😍💯
You must do a part 2. This was great! The glow effect as the nacelles power up was brilliant!
The guns or whatever they are coming out of the Excelsior at the beginning, those holes they are coming out of are if I remember (historically) the forward shuttle bays. Not to take anything away form this video, it's fantastic!
Never before has an Excelsior looked so menacing. I think not even the Vengeance looked that evil.
It's easy to forget how much bigger the Excelsior is! There's a good reason they're still around in the TNG-era shows.
Tuesday finally came!!!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing.
This is epic! I love the high focal length making the Excelsior look huge
Oh look...SHELDS!
No crew members falling out of the ship.
To make a sleek Federation design like the Excelsior look that menacing is nothing short of a miracle. Holy fuck.
Seeing the nacelles light up looks amazing, really adds something to that design of nacelle. And using the thrusters as it crushed out of warp really gave it a real physics sort of feel. Amazing work.
Superb work. I think no scene is as good as this across all licensed Star Trek.
This is just so excellent. I have been waiting for this ever since I saw Excelsior beginning pursuit - WIP - Blender 3D. The only "negative" (for lack of a better word) I would say about this, is that you lost the sound of the Excelsior powering up it's warp engines. That sound you had in beginning pursuit was just SO good, SO scary, SO much more powerful and advanced than the ship it is chasing. I was holding out hope that you keep that sound and extend it more, have that long whine of the engines really escalate across the silence of space as the Excelsior does a 180 to follow the Constitution. Also, if I REALLY REALLY REALLY have to nitpick, why doesn't the Excelsior do a 180? It looks like it is taking off in the other direction. I'm not saying this to bash your work. I LOVE your work. I could watch it all day long. Paramount should be hiring you! I say this because this is just so damn good, so close to perfection and I'm greedy and want more.
In so many different ways, this is perhaps the BEST Star Trek cinematic footage I've ever seen! And I absolutely love seeing the RCS thrusters being used!!! Bravo! :D
Oh HELL YES! Nice blending of classic Trek (ah the good old days) and newer effects. Works very well!
A very well done reinterpretation/adaptation of our beloved classic starships. Gorgeous!
AWESOME! I love the re-imagining!
Dude... this is so beautiful! Awesome little details like the nacelles charging up, and the thruster coming out of warp. This is the first video that I've just now seen of your channel.
This and your other amazing videos have made me subscribe.
That was totally awesome!! Better than the dam shows or movies!!
