I’m an engineer. I’ve been building e-bikes for 15 years. That’s the best I’ve seen so far. I tell people, it’s all about weight. Also, I believe it is capable of much higher performance without the 6k you’ll need to mod the Sur Ron. Companies don’t like to sell these with crazy torque right out of the box for a good reason. I also like the motor in the swing arm. Genius! Maybe a carbon belt later? Less distance to the rear sprocket equals more performance. The bike is a combination of elegance and efficiency.
Really Suronster started the sales of these with his wheelie videos. Maybe get him to demo it?? Or another good rider?

You’re an engineer who’s been building e-bikes for 15 years ?? The motor swingarm was copied not thought out, it’s got its disadvantages and doesn’t look good. Just my 2 cents.
This thing will likely fall apart if you try to do anything fun. It actually says not to jump it or ride it in "extreme" conditions in the manual. It's basically a fragile street bike with a good amount of power that they decided to throw dirt tires on.
@@jaysoniorg2950 yes, I believe it’s a great get around town bike. However, it’s not a motocross bike and if you try it you will probably break something. The Suron is much like that. If you want to do some serious off-road, you will needs some serious up grades. My opinion is: if you want to do some serious off road, buy a serious electric motorcycle.

This is the coolest “e-bike” I’ve seen all year! Definitely needs a pedal kit to keep it legal. I can’t believe it’s only 100 lbs! $5900 is a great price too because a lot of 72V setups for super 73 and upgraded surrons cost more. You get all that power for one price all stock.
I was counting days to finally be able to share with you this awesome bike. More coming but even stock this is a beast of an e-bike that is so much fun to ride daily and it does not matter if it is city or offroad it is so much fun. Also reasonable priced.

@@khanrides I’ve seen..surrons are over 750w motors and are over 100lbs..it just depends on the cops mood. If they wanna give u a hard time they will..plus there’s liability if u get into an accident and u can’t get it insured cause ebike insurance companies want 750w

This is already looking like a beast but the wheel base might be a bit long for wheelies but that doesn't matter because it's hitting 65mph and it's not even unlocked yet.... This is a very, very awesome bike and I hope it's not super expensive.

I'm an ER nurse, and I liked this video, but I couldn't stop think "this is why I'll always have a job."
I like this one a lot, much less complexity with the motor mounted on the swing arm, no need for a spring chain tensioner, no double chain and extra gears, very well thought out, will be nice to see this one become available world wide like the Surron.
I am testing it now off road and video coming soon. You will be surprised.

The one I have has Regen brakes but this will replace surron. My state just made this a moped as well so this will be awesome legal transportation.

I have one of these, well it's the same frame, brakes, suspension, design, battery, horn, battery, etc. The only difference is the display. This is the Denzel samurai design made by velimotors in China. The vmx08, this model, has been available since January in the states. I know bc I own vin number 00004.

It's actually a lot nicer than the sizzle video made it look. I kind of wish it had a belt drive to reduce the chain noise. I have similar forks and shocks on my bike Those little rubber blocks on the forks are meant to swing in and block the cables from being squished. I hope to see this bike out here on the west coast. Price tag is hard for me to touch, I wish you sold a frame with support for hub motors.

The price point is king. You can take over a market for anything by doing it better, unless you're doing it for a Better price. The most attainable product will always have it's place.

Surronster literally went over this yesterday, surron has a much wider and more diverse aftermarket pool to choose from, it'll be a while before there's parts out there to make the solar comparable to a upgraded surron
You don't need to upgrade here. Just play with the settings.

I have been riding my LBX for 3yrs now, using a BAC 4000 controller w/ stock bypassed battery. I have over 20k miles, just replaced drive belt, break pads and as expected tires. Im using 3 power level settings and have never used level 3, on or off road. Stock 19 in wheels w/ dual sport Shinko 421 tires. 54 tooth rear sprocket, 70+ mph. Also ride a CR 250 that does ride like a caddy lack after riding the surron. I still get around 32 miles range on the street, avg speed, 35mph. 20 miles at 45mph. Thinking about a 60v 60ahr max by Chi as I would like more range. nuff said, peace out...

@@ElectricVehicleSpace You reach your sweet spot which is rare for someone. Congrats. The other thing is distance which I wish they’d develop lighter batteries with even more voltage in the near future. At least lighter batteries as that would be huge in the industry.
@@buffalomind6838 yes but you are missing a big point. For off road is great but highway you need weight and stability. At high speed on highway slight wind and it moves you in this light bike.

Say a super lightweight non electric bike being able to be converted into electric weighting in at 5lbs of battery giving the equal capacity of 50amps is personal electric vehicle changing. And of course that would transfer over to even better heavier super speed ebike conversions.
Things are good now, but I can’t wait to see amazing distance and lightweight batteries with super long range capacity.
California St in San Francisco is a very steep hill. It about a 45 degree angle very steep.
Did they integrate the motor into the rear fork (and increase unsprung mass in the process) because it would have been too difficult/expensive to keep it in the composite frame? Mounting a high torque motor into composite material securely is tricky business. Still seems a weird choice, though maybe the handling doesn't suffer much because the motor is fairly close to the pivot.

The only thing I would say is that where the controller fan is it could get clogged up by mud and dirt pretty quickly. Don't take those fenders off.
You can actually pressure wash into that fan, it's not directly cooling any circuit boards, just the outer case of the watertight controller.

@@chrissinclair8705 maybe we could put a fine mesh grill over the fan to help.
@@SolarScootersuk Yea that could help or build a plastic shield that descents a few inches below the fan grill to allow air in but is solid so that any splashing or dirt hits the shield and not the fan. Just make an L bracket out of plastic and bolt it to the bottom like an extra fender. I'm a computer tech and I've blown out what thousands of computer fans, and they can die in months just from dust hanging around in the air let alone from dirt or mud being forced into them. Hell you could probably go to the dollar store and get a solid plastic spatula and fabricate something. Just make sure there is enough of a gap from the bottom of the plastic to the fan to allow air flow still and you're good.
This was a pre-production version of the E-Clipse, the controller on the production models has been switched to a more powerful and solid state controller, i.e no moving parts or fans.
Cooling is done by air and heat-sink.

I read somewhere which they say it’s designed so it can fit bigger battery. Also saw another video which it smoked a surron and still sh&t loads of juice left. With road tires it would be faster I reckon. All in all a beauty

For someone who rides primarily on the street with some mild trail riding this bike looks fun. However in the electric cycle rider review it was overheating constantly when pushed off road. The swingarm design, chain, and low motor make this thing 💩 for any real off-roading. Even says so in the manual. Sur Ron and Talaria still are the better options for people who want something reliable and capable off road.
That's incorrect. I rode this in 7500W also all day outside the city on the highway and performed amazing. Other channels tested offroad, and there no issues. I will test it offroad and post a follow-up. It's silly that 😜 you believe one reviewer that maybe had a faulty unit. These bikes were reviewed in China 🇨🇳 under Denzel brand and are awesome offroad.

For light trail riding I’m sure it’s fine but there’s no way this thing would hold up under aggressive off roading, big jumps, or hard enduro style riding which is how a lot of people ride and use their Sur Rons and Talarias. And I guarantee you aren’t a good enough rider to test that.

Super nice bike, and might be the best for the street in this category. But bikes like the ultra bee or modified light bee/mx4s would be much better for more off-road oriented use
I love this model of e bikes. Perfect cross between bicycle and motorbike. Bikes like Livewire has extra weight to look like petrol one. But that's not necessary for e bikes
I like the onyx so hopefully they'll have something new soon, too. I like where the competition is heading providing customers many choices. Nice bike and great review as always!

Has anybody here ordered this bike from Solar recently? I ordered one for myself two weeks ago, and I'm getting "boiler plate" replies when I try to inquire about possible dates for delivery. Last week, they said they would start delivering this week. This week, they have now said the same thing, only it is next week now again. I'm not sure how much more of the run around I'm really willing to put up with. Honestly, I just need to here some good news from anyone with a good delivery experience as I'm starting to get cold feet. I’ve seen some cool ideas made for emotorcycles I wish would trickle down to the e bikes! For instance, the sound…is it possible to make it even more silent without losing specs? It would be cool if you had the option to turn on and off a real motorcycle sound effect while driving! Whenever you’re in a mood to show off! Saw a vid where they tuned an e-cycle like a instrument and cranked the volume so when you ride it sounds like something out of a Star Wars movie or sum…very futuristic lol 😮😮😮 the remote key looked like a precious stone. Very neat concept! Especially if you could fit it into a watch or bracelet and press on it…some glowing lights on it matching the bike led screen. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I got me a few expensive scooters tbh, in my collection, i am checking on this bad bike right here, i am looking at a few idk if this is the best option, i like that carbon fiber body. Got a few heavy ass scooters this one is less heavier with removal batteries. Not bad just the price is a little higher in my opinion.

Exactly my thoughts. Probably could send the specs to China for manufacturing in scale to bring down the price for end users to $2000-2500 max. Currently it's pretty ridiculous.
@@akuskus thing is..these are already mass produced in China. These are made in China. I believe it's the batteries that are the biggest cost. Battery technology has a long way to go.

An electric very early retro style cafe racer that will accomodate 2 or a taller rider, would be a great second option.
Having a fairing on a bike would also cover the battery compartment and improve the aerodynamics.
A top speed of 100km/h but with mind blowing acceleration would assist with the sales.
Colors... British racing green or Ferrari red with pin stripes of course.
