In the 60's, the Chryslers were the best of the big three. They were powerful, and sold well. First to offer V8's in their family models, and their standard sixes were also damn fast! I wish I had a VC Valiant sedan now! In the 80's, you could buy five of em for a favour or a case of beer............now they're about fifty grand each!!
2:22 I remember on one of Classic Restos episode there was someone with a two door version which didn't get in Australia but was USA car and made, but I've never seen one since or after either!
Just before I got my drivers licence my older brother had the earlier R series Valiant, the one with the spare wheel indent in the boot this was back in the late 1960’s and remember it was a good performer with its 225 slant six and was quicker and a superior performer than the then Falcon and Holden six equivalents of the day, there was also a lot of small independent speed shops dotted around the Melbourne suburbs back then and I would go with my brother and mates what would seem like every Saturday morning where he would seem to get something that would improve the Valiants performance or handling, but of course it had the obligatory items like steel widies and lowered it remember well with just a few breathing mods on the 225 with extractors and I remember my brother also spent a considerable amount of dollars back then on a special manifold with a I think 4 Barrel carby with a mild cam and geez it was quite quick indeed, to this day he wished he never sold it
Nice tight editing of a multi-day slog!
What a beautiful beast all ways a fan of the 60s to the 81 Chrysler Valiant Series
You just gotta love the push button automatic transmission
225 slant 6, 4 wheel drums, slot mags and armstrong steering. Lovely.
Love the Valiant, My wife had one years ago with the wheel pressing on the boot. 👌
I remember when these Valiants came out. If you had one of these it usually meant that your family was well-off.
Would love to know Wasties reaction to "Start Ya Bastard" lol
Great vid
Hey had a good chuckle.
"Firebird, hold the dam torch still"...... we've all been there
Would love to see what happens to that lovely 😍 😊
I liked the Buckies episode it was culture shock but amazing place!
What a great episode!!
..damn she's fit...and the S series is pretty fine too
A slant six, they will run forever.
Beautiful car, so much character and style.

The R and S series were radically better looking than any of their competition of the day. Chrysler did it again with the Charger in 71.
There is a product that you coat the body in to keep the patina...... product is ????
