I’ve long felt blest with a neurodegenerative disease which will eventually take my life; God has made me more compassionate, and able to love even when I dislike someone. Suffering has given me reasons to have hope and faith, and yes, charity.

"clarity of conviction and confidence, all informed by charity in truth". So very true of Fr Murray. This is a very welcome discussion.

I like how Germany is mentioned here, I left the catholic Church 20 years ago for different reasons, now I regained my faith and I am considering coming back to the church, however, the church here in Germany has nothing to do with the church before, no values, wokeness etc. Mixing up politics with the church. One of the bishops recently mentioned that members of some political parties are not welcome in the church (I am not a member of such party). The church thinks that "going with the time" will stop them of losing followers but the opposite is the case, people want a firm church, with family values etc. I know that the church here does not represent all the cath. churches in the world, but even the pope is staggering. I am a bit lost here. Anyway, thanks for the nice talk.

Good Morning. Thank you for this talk. As a 65 year old Catholic, widowed with 6 adult children, i am having a hard time explaining the sex abuse of minors by priests. I feel unable to address another’s sexuality or gender confusion without them asking about the Catholic Church’s priests. I feel its better to stay away from the topic.

I’d like to comment on our Bishops not stepping up to the plate. The Senate of this country is up to pass the Respect for Marriage Act, then, after Mr Biden signs this, to protect same sex marriage, it would repeal the 1996 DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT, which defines marriage as a legal union between a man and a woman. This thing is called the Respect for Marriage Act, for shame on the SILENCE of the Princes of the Church, I’m heartbroken.

We have to follow God's teachings, not the teachings of man, what is written in the bible is very clear

Please always remember to teach about heaven purgatory and hell and purgatory is important because what we do on this Earth does matter this is a false teaching of the Protestant that once saved always saved we have got to get back to the truth nothing un holy gets into heaven so we need to have a great teaching on that.

    Ignorance
    Is a funny thing
    It gives us men
    A
    Lot
    To share
    But
    Who
    Can say
    What
    Makes a Man
    To cling
    To
    Aloneness...

    Once
    Did

The Rich young ruler looked into the face of Jesus and said ....Good master what must I do to inherit eternal life ......Jesus replied ' why do you call me good ,there is one there that is good and that is God alone . So the Historical Jesus did not know He was God or even claim to be God and only saw the fulness of goodness in God Himself.
The Gospel of John was written by Christians disciples who came to believe that Jesus after His resurrection was now one essence with the Father thereby God .

There is no crisis in God

homosexuality appears in many species besides humans. it's hard to believe that god would establish a bizarre asymmetry in nature whereby homosexuality is perfectly fine in all species except just one. but even supposing it was somehow undesirable, any blame for this hypothetical malfunction would of course lie with the designer who designed and enabled it in the first place. "no dude there's this thing called free will, man is choosing to be evil". sorry, this rationale (and free will in general) makes no sense; it's logically contradictory for god to design man with the capacity to offend or disobey or do something wrong while simultaneously being offended by his design working exactly as designed. in other words, the concept of sin itself, and of god being bothered by man committing sin, is contradictory if he specifically designed the creature with that exact capability. follow "sin" all the way upstream in terms of cause and effect, and you arrive at god. therefore, man's culpability for any type of "sin" is always a non-scenario. furthermore, free will is a nonsensical idea as well because you can't "choose" your next thought. if you could, this would require an infinite sequence of prior choices choosing the thought before the current one, but that's obviously not how it works, thoughts simply appear in your mind outside of your control.
you can keep telling us and yourselves that you are speaking the "truth", but it's clearly not the truth, because of contradictions like these as well as a hundred others you have, such as "invisible but wants to be your buddy" for example.
