      @@monikatunstall70 Mark Mercer is a heretic. JESUS told Nicodemus that one enters the Kingdom through Baptism. The 144,000 are virgin males from the twelve tribes of Israel, and have never been revealed in this world yet. JESUS told the Apostles that they weren't to worry in their lifetime about the Kingdom of Judah HE promises to them HE will in time restore. That Kingdom is only a part of the Kingdom of Heaven, which is the Catholic Church. The reason JESUS said the least in the Kingdom is greater than John the Baptist is because of the Eucharist John never got to see before his blessed Martyrdom. As a person, John is still greater than most Christians, but the participation in the LORD's own Human Life and SPIRIT through the Eucharistic bond to HIM is greater than all created persons including Mary and the Angels.
      Peter was made JESUS' Prime Minister, and his Office took full effect after the sacrifice of the LAMB OF GOD and Resurrection. At this point, GOD WHO gives Authority to men to forgive sins transferred the Authority from the Priests and Elders of the old covenant and the Kingdom that protected it, to the Catholic Hierarchy. JESUS the WORD and LAW of GOD died like a SEED to bring forth the planting of the Catholic Church encoded within the Letter of the Torah, and the code of the Law was crucified with and in HIM, rising to new form with HIM from the dead, establishing the New Order of a Covenant and Kingdom.

    Dr Hahn, As usual, you don't disappoint... Acts 8:30 "Do you understand what you read?" Again, you put things into perspective because I've been challenged with the timing of the events in Matt 16:28. So good to see Pope Benedict lent a hand to guide this parousia of seeing Christ in the kingdom. The Transfiguration is the kingdom which the three were witness. I've surely enjoyed the reference points you've made in the past on the ark of the covenant with David, and the incredible parallels with Mary as the living ark of the covenant. Really FUN...
    Thanks. Jim Cummings

    One thing i want us to remember is that communion is our Lord's supper, a gift of himself to us, so the details of how it all works is ultimately in his hands, and what we agree on theologically doesn't all of the sudden change what God is doing in his bread & wine.

      @Enforcer Bl Anne Catherine Emmerich - the Delores Passion of Christ - see the videos at Virgo Potens on her visions of the Resurrection. Amazing stuff. Yes Jesus descended into the place where the Patriarchs were and showed them how he died for them and that they were going to the Heavenly Kingdom. Still, God is timeless and on the Cross I believe Jesus was referring to Heaven when he said Paradise but I’m not a theologian.

    The "Jesus"-trilogy written by Benedict XVI is still underrated, in my opinion. Hugely debated (and often criticised) in "theological" circles, it tries (and manages) to save the "real" Jesus of the Bible (!) for Christianity (or at least for us Catholics) - to save it, that is, from the modernist theologians' attempts at deconstructing i.e. destroying him. I suppose Benedict saw this as the climax of his theological and pastoral work, as his most important legacy. Whatever they make him say in interviews now (March 2021), and despite the fact that he left us with a terrible successor due to his abdication, I am personally very grateful to him for his papacy.

    • @stevepaul9408
      @stevepaul9408 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you. I have read many of Pope Benedict XVI (Cardinal Ratzinger) books and they all inspired me to draw closer to God. He also wrote the current Catechism which is full of truths. His teachings encourage us to live a life of prayer (also referred to as Christ mysticism- the only way to communicate with God) and and when we are strengthened and renewed in our minds, the Holy Spirit leads us to good works. Pope Francis is a liberal pontiff who inspires people to implement social change to help the poor and sick worldwide. But, 1st and foremost, we need God. We need to experience the spiritual reality that God in Christ is always with us, forgives and loves us, "fear not, I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name and you are mine". God requires repentance and obedience to his Holy Word from all of us. "I will never leave you nor forsake you"

    I believe Our Lord, Jesus Christ, did indeed immediately return. Jesus had said he would leave, and would not be fouund, then he would return and could be "seen". He returned in the person of God, The Holy Spirit who would come in His name. Jesus returned in The person of The Holy Spirit, who would be acting only in the name of Jesus Christ. Alelluia, alelluia, Jesus has been among us since the beginning. Since the descent of Our Lord, The Holy Spirit.

    In the bosom of the Father,
    Ere the ages had begun,
    Thou wast in the Father’s glory,
    God’s unique begotten Son.
    When to us the Father gave Thee,
    Thou in person wast the same,
    All the fulness of the Father
    In the Spirit to proclaim.
    By Thy death and resurrection,
    Thou wast made God’s firstborn Son;
    By Thy life to us imparting,
    Was Thy duplication done.
    We, in Thee regenerated,
    Many sons to God became;
    Truly as Thy many brethren,
    We are as Thyself the same.
    Once Thou wast the only grain, Lord,
    Falling to the earth to die,
    That thru death and resurrection
    Thou in life may multiply.
    We were brought forth in Thy nature
    And the many grains became;
    As one loaf we all are blended,
    All Thy fulness to proclaim.
    We’re Thy total reproduction,
    Thy dear Body and Thy Bride,
    Thine expression and Thy fulness,
    For Thee ever to abide.
    We are Thy continuation,
    Thy life-increase and Thy spread,
    Thy full growth and Thy rich surplus,
    One with Thee, our glorious Head.

    This Transfiguration is the meeting of Witnesses on a mountain with the Manifestation of GOD to found confirmation of the truth of a Covenant about to be given. This was like that in Moses' day, thus he himself was a Witness here. At both events, GOD's Voice is heard from Heaven with a show of Glory. Because these three Apostles heard the Voice of GOD the FATHER from Heaven telling them to believe in the New Covenant about to be established, they could assure all of the very fact of the Covenant being that prophesied by Moses and Jeremiah. Those standing be JESUS, except Judas Iscariot (thus making it some there, not all) saw the beginning of the Kingdom that is the Catholic Church, as accords with what JESUS told Nicodemus the kingdom is: what we enter immediately at Baptism. And those least of the Kingdom are only greater than John the Baptist as partakers in the Divine Nature through the Eucharist he didn't get to partake in.
    Moses ordered made a Tabernacle for the SHEKINAH of GOD. Peter wanted to make tabernacles to house CHRIST in Glory, and two witnesses of HIS to bear witness to HIM. It was a reasonable gesture. But a moment later there were no longer three figures of extreme Glory to meet the eyes of those they wanted to convince at designated stations of glorious evidence.

      @mark mercer What makes you say that no one understands scriptures riddles? Is that what scripture tells you, or the Catholic church?
      In any case, Jesus said that some of them standing there would not taste death before seeing the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. This was obviously fulfilled at the transfiguration.

    Hi I'm a cradle Catholic from India. This is how I see the Transfiguration. Jesus who is God came down to earth veiled as a human. His disciples followed him everywhere thinking he was a Godman or Prophet but when Jesus takes Peter, James and John up the mountain to meet Moses and Elijah he lifts up that human veil for a few moments and he starts glowing and He lets them see Him as He really is, as GOD. At that very moment they realise that the man they followed everywhere and ate and drank with was not a Godman but GOD HIMSELF.
    That's why Peter starts trembling because now he knows he is standing in the Presence of God.
    Jesus begins commissioning His Church on earth when Jesus asks his Apostles who they thought He was. Peter answers 'You are the Son of God.
    Jesus says God told you this.
    Then Jesus looks intently at Peter and says, ' You are Peter the Rock upon which I shall build my Church and the gates of hell shall never prevail against it'
    Thus Jesus appoints Peter as the first Pope to lead his Church to whom he has delegated immense powers, so immense that He says to Peter, whichever sins you forgive on earth will be forgiven in heaven and whichever sins you retain on earth shall be retained in heaven. Thus Jesus himself instituted the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
    Is there anything in this world to beat these powers.

      @Collins Anosike that's exactly what I said. Jesus told Peter that God has revealed it to him.

      @Enforcer when He came to earth, He came as man and lived like man, eating, drinking, partying, mourning among men so the Apostles thought he was probably a Prophet till He revealed himself as God to just three of his disciples at the Transfiguration. In that sense he took off the veil of the man he became for our salvation and let Peter, James and John see Him as He really is, as God just for a fleeting moment so that they would know Him in fullness of Truth.

    I think that when Peter, talking about the three tabernacles, showed nervousness. I work in the field of criminal justice and people do this a lot when they don't know anything else to say or they just get extremely nervous.

    Professor Hahn, thankyou for such a beautiful and deep teaching on the transfiguration and the blessed trinity.
    I hope that you will read this message and that what I share with you will encourage you, like it encouraged me.
    Recently, on the feast day of the transfiguration I was mediating on this passage of scripture, and I was given a beautiful revelation which I'd like to share with you.
    This scripture mentions Peter James and John as being with our Lord and there is a hidden meaning here.
    Each of these apostles names means something; as you know Peter is the ROCK on which Christ would build His CHURCH.
    James is identified in scripture as the BROTHER of the Lord; and John is not only James' brother but also called in scripture the BELOVED disciple.
    When we combine the meaning of their names we get the Church (or Rock) of Brotherly Love.
    As you most likely know the Church of Brotherly love is literally the meaning of the name of the church of Philadelphia spoken to by our Lord in Revelation.
    In Revelation Our Lord promises this church to be spared from the hour of trial coming to test the whole world; and the fact that Peter talks of building "booths" could very well point to the feast of booths in the Jewish calendar, as the time when this may happen.
    The fact that you point out God's divine love as the essence of Who He is, as well as the driving force behind the gospel, is significant - especially when that gospel is meant to drive us to loving God and to love each other, the way that Christ first loved us.
    Thankyou for reading,
    May God continue to bless you.
