Another way to look at it is when Strahd made his deal with the Dark Powers, he not only cursed himself and his domain but his subjects as well. Tatyana was one on of his subjects and thus shared in his curse.

This song is good and it tells her story well. Her true love, Strahd's brother, killed and she dies over and over again after being reincarnated and meeting his killer (Strahd), who is STILL obsessed with obtaining her.
