Love the theory that if Aang wasn’t in ice for 100 years, Yue would’ve been the avatar after him. She didn’t have the avatar spirit in her so she needed the moon spirit to live on and would’ve been next in line in the avatar cycle from air to water

Volton and Avatar are actually incredibly similar if you think about it! Yue and Allura have their similarities, Sokka and Lance are basically the same people but in different universes and They both kind of follow an elemental theme ( as in the lion paladins and the bending )
I used to listen to this song so much. I started rewatching ATLA and reached the first episode with Yue and was luckily reminded of this beautiful, serene song.

It's crazy to remember how I used to play this song for my younger siblings when it was still new. It was an incredibly powerful lullaby, and was among the few things that could settle three toddlers and give our mom some much needed rest. The eldest found comfort in the music and voice up until she was a pre-teen, and would play it on repeat on rough days, despite not knowing the language. The middle one would try to sing along to the various lullabies I played for them, stumbling over unfamiliar words but smiling sleepily, I wonder if he'd recognize this tune still. The youngest is now engrossed in the world of avatar and if she doesn't remember this song I'm sure she'd love it all over again, knowing what it's about this time around. I'm a grown *ss adult now and they're around the same age I was when this song first came out. It makes me feel old, but gracefully so when I hear this play.

In stead of going by Avatar I picture a girl who is lonely and the only friend she has is the moon. As a young little girl she tried to hug the moon and play with him. She knew that some day she would touch the moon, when she grew up every night she would go out side and watch the stars twinkle while waiting for the moon. She would draw pictures of him and tell him stories that her mother told her. The moon would be quite and listen to her stories very carefully. Some times he didn't show up but she knew he was near her. One a autumn twilight she was older and fell in love with a boy about her age and he would give her a red rose every weekend. She spent most of her time with him then the moon. The moon then shut himself up in the clouds for many months until she came back, and she did! Her reached her gentile hand out to the sky with her eyes full of silver tears. "Moon," She called out. "Moon, please come show your light." Finally he came out from behind the clouds and looked at her with joy. He shown his light on her and her heart felt warm. She looked weak and tired, then she fell to the ground crying. "Help me," She cried softly. "I'm dying of cancer and all I ask from you is that I can touch your silver surface just once." Then the moon glowed brighter then it ever did in it's life. The girl was lifted into the twilight sky and she got closer and closer to the moon. She held out her hand and she touched the moon's smooth surface. She giggled a little and gave the moon a gentile hug. Her heart began to beat more and more softly. As it faded away she kissed the moon. "I love you, moon." She said. Then her heart stopped and she died with a thin lovely smile on her face and she still touched the moon. THE END
As ridiculous as this sounds, this song makes me cry. It was never like that before. It gave me a bitter sadness, but not to the point of tears. As I listen to this again when I'm older, it breaks my heart in freshly realized ways. There are many Yue's in this world, whose destiny was to never be happy, but to pave the way so others will be. I wonder if it's possible to live in a world where no sacrifices are needed, where we are all blessed with the fair chance to be loved and keep love. If only our mortal lives were that simple.
I want this played at my funeral. I was born under a full moon and Airbender is a huge part of my childhood. (I also relate to some of the lyrics in very personal ways.)
I remember looping this a lot when I was a young teen, about 13-14, it was my favourite because it genuinely made me feel like life was beautiful. The gentleness of the song meant so much to me. I also would connect my favourite feminine characters to this song, beyond Yue. I'm turning 21 this year, coming back feels like a distant dream. I really miss those times. It's very hard for me to listen to this song. It's so poignantly beautiful, but still, I find myself coming back to it. Yue truly is a beautiful character, inside and out. The love she shared with Sokka was strong, but her selflessness was stronger.

This song reminds me of Norah from the game "Child of Light." Norah IS A Child of Light, but Moonlight rather than Sunlight. She's only a reflection of her sister Aurora's radiance. And it gets to her after a while, understandably.

Volton and Avatar are actually incredibly similar if you think about it! Yue and Allura have their similarities, Sokka and Lance are basically the same people but in different universes and They both kind of follow an elemental theme ( as in the lion paladins and the bending )

The like button isn't working properly. There just aren't words for this beautiful song.
It's crazy to remember how I used to play this song for my younger siblings when it was still new. It was an incredibly powerful lullaby, and was among the few things that could settle three toddlers and give our mom some much needed rest.
The eldest found comfort in the music and voice up until she was a pre-teen, and would play it on repeat on rough days, despite not knowing the language.
The middle one would try to sing along to the various lullabies I played for them, stumbling over unfamiliar words but smiling sleepily, I wonder if he'd recognize this tune still.
The youngest is now engrossed in the world of avatar and if she doesn't remember this song I'm sure she'd love it all over again, knowing what it's about this time around.
I'm a grown *ss adult now and they're around the same age I was when this song first came out. It makes me feel old, but gracefully so when I hear this play.

In stead of going by Avatar I picture a girl who is lonely and the only friend she has is the moon. As a young little girl she tried to hug the moon and play with him. She knew that some day she would touch the moon, when she grew up every night she would go out side and watch the stars twinkle while waiting for the moon. She would draw pictures of him and tell him stories that her mother told her. The moon would be quite and listen to her stories very carefully. Some times he didn't show up but she knew he was near her. One a autumn twilight she was older and fell in love with a boy about her age and he would give her a red rose every weekend. She spent most of her time with him then the moon. The moon then shut himself up in the clouds for many months until she came back, and she did! Her reached her gentile hand out to the sky with her eyes full of silver tears. "Moon," She called out. "Moon, please come show your light." Finally he came out from behind the clouds and looked at her with joy. He shown his light on her and her heart felt warm. She looked weak and tired, then she fell to the ground crying. "Help me," She cried softly. "I'm dying of cancer and all I ask from you is that I can touch your silver surface just once." Then the moon glowed brighter then it ever did in it's life. The girl was lifted into the twilight sky and she got closer and closer to the moon. She held out her hand and she touched the moon's smooth surface. She giggled a little and gave the moon a gentile hug. Her heart began to beat more and more softly. As it faded away she kissed the moon. "I love you, moon." She said. Then her heart stopped and she died with a thin lovely smile on her face and she still touched the moon. THE END

As ridiculous as this sounds, this song makes me cry. It was never like that before. It gave me a bitter sadness, but not to the point of tears. As I listen to this again when I'm older, it breaks my heart in freshly realized ways. There are many Yue's in this world, whose destiny was to never be happy, but to pave the way so others will be. I wonder if it's possible to live in a world where no sacrifices are needed, where we are all blessed with the fair chance to be loved and keep love. If only our mortal lives were that simple.
I want this played at my funeral. I was born under a full moon and Airbender is a huge part of my childhood. (I also relate to some of the lyrics in very personal ways.)
I remember looping this a lot when I was a young teen, about 13-14, it was my favourite because it genuinely made me feel like life was beautiful. The gentleness of the song meant so much to me. I also would connect my favourite feminine characters to this song, beyond Yue. I'm turning 21 this year, coming back feels like a distant dream. I really miss those times. Thank you for sharing your voice to accompany me back when I was exploring my own little, protected world.

It's very hard for me to listen to this song. It's so poignantly beautiful, but still, I find myself coming back to it. Yue truly is a beautiful character, inside and out. The love she shared with Sokka was strong, but her selflessness was stronger.
