Thankyou for showing us the snow. Looked amazing. Living in Western Australia I have never seen snow. Your winder and swift set up is great. I know what you mean in a large skein not fitting as when I tried to fit both on a small table it didn't fit. I love seeing how yarn will knit up when making socks too. The ones for Eric are just gorgeous. Thanks Kay.
Hi Kay. I love the socks. Beautiful. I know some people need everything to be in sync and balanced. The gusset colors make me think of the northern lights that have been just stunning.
There are so many Vlogmases! I wish I could watch them all. So I have a select few that are a must watch. 😊 At least i try to watch as many episodes as possible.
The stand for the swift and winder looks like it would be a great space to store knitting books and or needle collection cases. That seems like a genius low profile setup for advent though. Thanks for the tip.
About the ballwinder stand: maybe you can turn it 90 degrees. The yarn will come from the side and you'll have plenty enough space to extend the swift.
One thing you might try to accommodate a larger skein on your swift would be to unscrew the yarn guide attached at the bottom of your winder. Swing it 90° to one side or another and retighten it. That may give you enough clearance to wind the yarn. That way the swift and winder can stay attached as they are, and you could put the yarn guide back to its original position for the minis.
Oh Dexter was such a good boy for listening!! He looked like he was in seventh heaven laying on the sofa with his human cushion!! I know Calvin is a devil kitty with the yarn but like seeing him!! Out of all of the pets on the videos I watched, his was the first name I learned and remembered back when you lived in Arizona!
Okay those stripey Christmas socks are so gorgeous 😍 🎄 love them! I look forward to your Vlogmas every year - it is the perfect company as I scramble to finish all the handknit Christmas gifts!
Your shawl is Lovely! Your cozy memories blanket is coming along so well. Nice stand! Your ball winder is much larger than the one I have. I was watching Homespun House Vlogmus this morning and noticed she was watching you😀
The winder is awesome, but you can attach the metal arm thing out to the side so that it isn’t in the way of the swift too :) since you can take it off just hook it around the bolt with it facing to the side :)
Jippiee another vlogmas for today ❄️ So wonderful. We had a 🥵 day Homespun has alot of pinks and so pretty Legacy fiber line on like Christmas socks and in a way polka dot creek match with legacy yarn Your riw counter omw it's since The amazing beautiful socks can't wait to sent the finished project the yarn 🧶 grab me our children already on summer holidays for 6 plus 2 weeks Beautiful adorable 🐶 s The blanket grow so nice What a nice winding station it look so practical I work with a Amish swift. The doggies watch TV so cute Can't wait for tomorrow episode
We got freezing rain here in Edmonton last night and it is below freezing this morning so the roads are going to be a skating rink. I would prefer snow to that but at least it’s not -40 out. Those red, green and black socks are gorgeous.
love them all.....maybe Home Spun Yarn not so much...I feel it's too much of a good thing....pink in this case....but I guess there's still time for it to evolve
Love the ball and skein winder set up. Could you maybe change the position of the ball winder and have the orientation with the handle on the right side of the “bench”. That could still wind I think and would help with the swift not hitting the yarn guide. Just a thought…. Love the Vlogmas every year.
For the swift/winder stand, have you tried removing the winder and rotate it 90 degrees then reattach it so that the clamp is on the long side of the board? This would allow the yarn eyelet tensioner to swing further out and maybe that would give you enough distance for the swift to extend fully for the larger skeins?
I love the yarn winder stand! Absolutely genius! I also have to drag my swift and winder to my kitchen table every time I want to wind up yarn. It would be awesome to have some thing that’s easy to get out and use and then just tuck away in my office.
I am right over in Oakwood. How did I miss that snow yesterday?? I work from home and it must have started after my dog went out in the morning. We used to live in the neighborhood behind bills when our kids were in school and I always dreaded taking a left to go to the high school. The traffic was so bad. Thanks for sharing. It’s so fun to see familiar places on your videos and I love the Christmas socks!
Another great episode! I live in Anchorage Alaska and we have had so much snow already this year over 39 inches in the month of November which broke a lot of records, if I could send you some I would be happy to ha ha. Love all of your Advents and I’m working through my four sock Advents ...I ordered too many ! Yikes!
It’s nice to hear someone say that they like to just knit the yarn and let it do what it does. So many people say they cut it and restart it again trying to prevent pooling, etc. And Gurl! God brought that snow for you, on your carpool morning, because He knows you love it so much. Thankfully it did not snow here in Miamisburg yet.🤦🏾♀️
I have the same stand, swift and winder that you have. I have my winder turned and the metal yarn holder pointing out to the front. That makes it so I can extend my swift all they way out if need be.
I noticed two things on today’s vlogmas. 1. I love how you wear your Granny Stripe Shawl. I rarely see someone wear a triangle shawl like that, and it always makes me smile. 2. I really loved seeing your knitted Christmas stockings by the fireplace. They look so festive! As always, enjoyed your update today.
All of your creations are beautiful wish i could afford all that pretty sock yarn snowing out here today very cold snuggling down in my chair knitting vamps short slippers have a good week
I get that same sad feeling when you’re videos end as when I realize I’ve run out of coffee. Lol Can’t wait for tomorrows vlogmas. Thanks for sharing a bit of your holiday joy with us. :)
We’ve had a little bit of snow in Glasgow but it’s been raining the past couple of days so all gone now :( I am obsessed with your grinchy stripy socks and very sad that with most yarn dyers the shipping to the UK is more than the price of the yarn! Not many UK dyers that I have found do mini skein sets like this one or the candy cane stripes one from moonglow 😢
Than you for the IKEA stand demo! Also, I was cracking up that you fold your bath towels the same way I do….my Mom trained me and my husband is still in training!🤣🤣🤣🤣😄
I love the winder stand! Could you turn the winder sideways?? Or, I recently saw a waterfall winder 😳😬 on Love and Stitches she was at a store and they had one. Super neat!!!
It is so good to see you two having a date night. I have been married for 32 years now and we have not had a date night for a long time now and I miss them so much so try and continue having a date night. I love snow too but I do not like to drive in it. Love seeing your family but I know they do not like it. Love your blanket and I love watching it grow.
Thanks for showing your ball winder setup. The metal arm on my ball winder isn’t as tall as yours so I’m hoping I can make it work without an extension. I really enjoy seeing what socks you’re wearing and appreciate you giving the pattern name. My Ravelry queue just keeps growing!
Thanks for showing us your winder and swift set up. What a beautiful Cozy Memories blanket the mini's are fun together. Have an amazing rest of your day.
I have my swift and winder set up the same way, but I have the winder so it sits sideways. Everything winds fine and I don't need to worry about the swift hitting the winder.
I love your yarn winding stand. I didn't realize until after we replaced both the dining room and coffee table with glass topped tables that I have nowhere convenient to wind yarn. I might have to look into this option, thanks for sharing 😊
If you turn the ball winder 90° to the right, so the yarn guide is at a right angle to the length of the table base you should be fine. Sending Santa to IKEA to get me one!
It was lovely to see Calvin. I love that fella. My brother had a black cat like Calvin. Her name was Wilma. She had a distinctive personality, just like Calvin.
That is a cool set up for your winding! I don’t do much winding so this might be a dumb question, why can’t you turn the winder so that metal arm is facing out to one of the sides or does your clip holding it to the board not fit that way? Love the snuggly cats! I wish I could knit all the socks you do, I love seeing all thesocks you are working on.
Thank you for talking about the stand. I have an Ikea close by, I can check it out. I love the dark green and red socks and the striped socks! Your advent countdown with the star is so cute too. Thank you!
All of your projects are growing quickly....always a good thing. You had a busy day! Nice to end it with a date night. I had to laugh at your comment about Dexter listening and Gracie not. We had 2 dogs-a male and female-and it was the same way with them. The female was Miss Independent and marched to her own tune. The male would do whatever you told him to. Love seeing the pups and nice to see Calvin make a cameo appearance too!
Love seeing the little ones!! I've been watching your videos for several years now, and I recall you had an older, larger dog a while back. I haven't seen him/her for quite a while, so I'm wondering if s/he is still around, and if not, what all happened? Our little ones are so special to us, and by you sharing yours with us, we have come to enjoy seeing them too! 🥰
I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a beloved fur baby. I was afraid that's what happened. Sending hugs and love to you and your family. @@CrazySockLady
I think it only works for their swift and winders? But I’ll double check that. I am fine with whatever Eric can come up with though, as long as it works I don’t need anything fancy! ☺️
You did mention on a previous video that you were going to time how long it takes you to knit a square on your blanket. Did you do that? Love the blanket. Love the socks❤
You sold me on the ikea “sawhorse.” I also ordered an extension (Mittback attachment) attachment from Etsy. I hope they will be delivered this week. Can you turn the ball winder on the other side inside of the end?
Love that you guys have a date night!❤ We are in lower Michigan and we have just been getting snow. You are inspiring me to either cast on a sock or work on a pair that is a WIP.
School traffic is the worst!! But time with your guy is priceless! Enjoy it!

The pets taking turns cuddling, is too cute!
Hi Kay. I love the socks. Beautiful. I know some people need everything to be in sync and balanced. The gusset colors make me think of the northern lights that have been just stunning.
I'm so amazed you washed the dishes wearing your shawl, I feel like I'd drop it into the sink lol!

WOW those whispers in the wind look so good!
Your opening music is one of my fav Christmas songs and super jelly of the snow!

I live in Norway. Lots of snow here🥶 these past days it's been -24 celsius🥶 (-11,2 Fahrenheit I think?)
We got freezing rain here in Edmonton last night and it is below freezing this morning so the roads are going to be a skating rink. I would prefer snow to that but at least it’s not -40 out. Those red, green and black socks are gorgeous.
I love snow as long as I don’t have to go out in it. My old bones can’t handle the cold. Have a great evening.
I love seeing what socks you are wearing for the day….bit of fun
I'm so glad you showed the stand for your swift and winder. I had seen it in another but never realized you had a link. Thank you!!
love them all.....maybe Home Spun Yarn not so much...I feel it's too much of a good thing....pink in this case....but I guess there's still time for it to evolve
Love the look on your cats face when it looked over and saw you recording. 🐈⬛
Awwwwww snow! I want one big storm and then I'm done for the season....lol. Looks like all the little ones like Eric...lol.
Loved the color of Northern Light from Three by the Sea.
your husband is the pet whisperer 😄 lovely vlog!
Yes he is 😂
Hurray for snow! Love your swift, ball winder setup!
Love the ball and skein winder set up. Could you maybe change the position of the ball winder and have the orientation with the handle on the right side of the “bench”. That could still wind I think and would help with the swift not hitting the yarn guide.
Just a thought….

We are right around that area and the traffic is insane!!!! 🙃
Your winder set up is great. I thought it was a saw horse from a hardware store. Guess I need to shop Ikea.
Another great episode! I have the same stand, swift and winder that you have. I have my winder turned and the metal yarn holder pointing out to the front. That makes it so I can extend my swift all they way out if need be.
I’m so jealous of the snow. I live in Arkansas. We usually don’t get snow until January.
I look forward to watching yout vlogmas everyday, it does motivate me to get stuff done beside knitting.

Still waiting impatiently for our first snow in CT. Really enjoying your Vlogmas…especially seeing how the minis knit up in your Cozy Memory Blanket!!
Love the pooling in the gusset!
I have a squirrel cage swift it takes up vertical space and I love it!
Your knitting amazes me! I would love to be able to crochet or knit without even looking! Crafting goals! Lol first i need to learn to cast on!😂
Love snow also! Can’t wait until we get some
Such beautiful yarn you are collecting my favourites are legacy finer artz it looks fabulous so much pretty yarn you have

We had snow the Monday after Thanksgiving
Enough to have our driveway plowed. We have had dusting since.

Awesome Advents. Especially Polka Dot Creek and Twice Sheered Sheep

I also really like you showing what knit socks you’re wearing each day!
Yay for snow!!
I am loving those striped Christmas socks! Will have to start a pair of my own.

I bought the freckled whimsy Christmassy yarn club too. I can't wait to knit Christmas yarns all year long.
I am super curouis if you ever knit garments😊. I love you vanilla sock pattern and thanks to you i am no longer scared of sockknitting❤
Nope not really
The Stanwood ball winder is so good! I have had mine for a few years and just love it.
I’m retired, had 65 years of snow, if I want to see it now I’ll drive to Prescott or Flagstaff
You should be able to clamp an extension board and then mount the ball winder to that.
The animals sure love snuggling with Eric!
Thank you for talking about the stand. I have an Ikea close by, I can check it out. I love the dark green and red socks and the striped socks! Your advent countdown with the star is so cute too. Thank you!

I have the same set up for my ball winder and swift. I added a larger board on top so the swift extends and it works great!
You could always add a 2x4 ish board clamped to the top board... yep that is what I was going to say.
We had our first snowfall this morning! It made me so happy. Loved seeing Dexter, Gracie, and Calvin!😊
You may be able to lift the swift higher and it could clear the loop of the winder.
There is an extension to attach the swift as well as the winder. I got them thru fiber artist supply.
I think it only works for their swift and winders? But I’ll double check that. I am fine with whatever Eric can come up with though, as long as it works I don’t need anything fancy! ☺️
Just watched all the episodes this afternoon - one after the other - thank you for helping me get into the Christmas Spirit!
I love this new Christmas sock!

I need to cast on a DK weight cozy memories! I’m loving yours! 😍
Yes, you totally should cast one on!!
Yay snow!
Hope you enjoyed your date night meal! Really enjoying seeing your socks being worked on too x
