that instrument he's playing is called a Oud. he's tunisian and sings in arabic most of the time..

The instrument is Oud and Dhafer is from Tunisia. He has albums with Marcus Miller, Dave Holland, Husnu (the clarnet player in this concert). You should also try some music from the other tunisian player Anouer Brahem
