From soft isnt a golden developer they are literally my favorite game developer and i hate when people say they arent predatory. Dark Souls 2 is a cash grab its rushed made by the b team and wasnt checked over to make sure that same level of quality from soft is known for is there. Its dlcs were horribly priced and then they re released the game scholar of the first sin and didnt fix any of the problems that game has if anything they maybe made it worse. Dark Souls 3 has two dlcs priced the same despite how much larger the second dlc is compared to the first. Ive been playing their games since Demon Souls and they have consistently frustrated me with how they do business i remember when the first dlc for ds3 dropped and the community was outraged they felt ripped off somehow the second dlc made everyone forget but i never did. Elden Ring now drops a $40 dlc i dont care that it might as well be elden ring 2 its not they didnt call it that they called it an expansion and by pricing it half the price of the game they set a new horrible precedent for others in the industry. They make my favorite games i have more hours in ds3 than any other game in my lifetime but they dont practice good business they never have just because they dont do microtransactions doesnt mean they arent trying to nickel and dime me. They know how passionate their fans are imo this $40 dlc is a test to see how far that devotion will take them ive reached my breaking point with videogames besides indie games it just all revolves around money no company is safe these days

Don’t worry brother, I appreciate your comment and your opinion:) I understand your point but sadly, the rest of the industry is so out of hand that even if you consider that they overprice their content, it’s not a big deal. I agree with the Dark Souls 3 take, but Shadow of the Erdtree is arguably top 3 Dlc ever, and according to metacritic, it overtook Blood and Wine’s number 1 spot. That one hurts because I am a huge Witcher fan boy, but I can see why. I’ve played around 10h of the Dlc and it’s huge. Zones are beautiful, bosses are interesting and challenging, different story paths… Nowadays that would be sold as a new game for 70$ instead of 40. Just think about Assassin’s creed mirage. 50$ and it pales in comparison with SOTE.
