  • Hi every1
    In this video I will show you how to rig shoulder plate quick and easy without using drivers or some phyton script, just modifier thats their in blender.
    Here is the other video where I teach you how to use transformation constraint.

    this is so much more elegant than all the rest of the complex rigs. simple and effective

    I actually was rigging this a few days ago. My technique would be to use auto rig pro, and create 2 shapekeys, then just fix the shoulders on the left shapekey and the right shapekey, then use a driver for each to correct automatically based on shoulder and arm placement. I mentioned auto rig pro because it allows you to actually select 2 bones, the shapekey, and press a button to create the drivers automatically if you don't have any idea on how to do that yourself.

      There are many techniques how you can make the shoulders deform properly but this character base mesh I used on this tutorial you don't need to add any extra bones, I have made some character check it out, it does not have extra bones for the shoulders but it still deform properly and it is a lowpoly character having 6000 to 7000 vertices

    A shoulder plate is a piece of exterior Armor for the shoulders and a shoulder blade, is the actual shoulder. With that being said, I refuse to fault you on the naming. That would be foolish since I myself knew nothing of rigging shoulder's before watching. So thank you very much.

  • @FabiTheSnake

    i think you mean shoulder BLADE, but still very solid.

  • @thomasmann4536
    @thomasmann4536 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This is cool, but I probably would parent the shoulder blade bone to the spine, not the shoulder, since the lats are back muscles and the 3d movement of the shoulder can make it really tricky to keep the shoulder blade in position

    • @CopyCatBlack
      @CopyCatBlack  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      yes, you can even do that but their is more way to work with the shoulder and right now I have learned how to weight paint the character in such a way that you dont need an extra bone for the back I will make a video for that in future, right now I am little occupied at the moment please do tell me if you all having problems, so that I can help you all. Anatomically speaking, the scapula is actually attached to the clavicle via the acromion, whereas it has no direct attachment to the spine at all (it's separated by a layer of muscle). So to me, parenting the scapula to the clavicle makes more sense, because the scapula really shouldn't stay in position when the shoulder's moving.

    • @thomasmann4536
      @thomasmann4536 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@moldman5694 the rigging skeleton is not 100% congruent with the human skeleton. Bones in 3d softwares fulfil the role of real bones, muscles and tendons, because we don't have anything else. For example, characters will have "twist bones" in the arms and legs for better deformation, even though humans don't have them. Similarly, in the back, we are more interested in preserving the shape rather than realistic skeleton recreation. And here, the latissimus is far more important to simulate than the actual scapula. we only call it scapula bone for naming convention reasons.

    If you're creating a rig for blender-use only, it's easier to solve it with corrective shape keys.

    • @CopyCatBlack
      @CopyCatBlack  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well yes it have many ways to solve, but the disadvantage of using shape-keys is that when you weight paint again the shapekey will be of no use, using this method is the best.

    • @StannRat
      @StannRat ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CopyCatBlack shape keys don't become less useful when redrawing vertex weights. Except when you need to edit the base shape. With shape keys you can create a fairly realistic simulation of muscles. But of course, if you need a rig to use in some game or in any other program, then shape keys will no longer be useful.

    I tried following the tutorial but I got stuck at 7:43. When I did Zmin -180, the bone for rotation z source min is not reacting on any value. It only reacts if I use the max value not min or I change back to positive 180. But then when I duplicate and follow the adjustments for location, it's not moving the same as the video. Maybe a video with audio tutorial will help! I hope you update this tutorial ^_^
