Daytona is somehow grimier and more run-down than Myrtle Beach. It's wild.

Gotta go outside of Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach or Garden City, Myrtle Beach itself is gross.

@@TheCruefan94 Definitely. But I'd take Myrtle Proper over Daytona any day.

I love these little story segments and listening to them as I'm driving or I'm doing something it's just the commentary of your life told him to good story format! You also got me analyzing how can I better tell stories because I'm not that kind of guy I'm more of a data guy! Love it

I used to skateboard in California when it was like 104°. Spontaneous collapsing at 107° sounds about right. Skateboarding when it's 104° gives you the scary woozy.

Sajam failed his save vs. the competence gap. God I'm so sorry your trip was so horrible. It was good you were there to help that guy though since it sounds like you guys were the only ones. As much as you travel, do you *ever* have to acclimate? That's coast to coast man. When I went to boot camp in Orlando they basically went light on us for a couple of days because of that. After that they destroyed us but at first, ya' know, they didn't want anyone getting hurt. O.o Airline marketing should get on this though. I mean, that slogan just writes itself: "Fly with us! It won't require an Armenian counter hex!" :D

I lived in Central Florida (Volusia County) the majority of my life, moved to Ohio in 2016. While the humidity and job opportunities were garbage, Daytona was always fun and only around the Pepsi 400 and Daytona 500 was there a lot of "Dixie Land."
Gee, I wonder what happened in the past few years that made racism an all year event..

What I find odd is that there’s four separate horror stories here:
    - Confederate flag casual racism
    - Justin Wong’s tweet about racism:
    twitter.com/jwonggg/status/1144492226262683650?s=21
    - Daytona food from lists
    - Airport / travel fuckery
Out of all these horror stories, the fourth one comprises ten minutes and has all sorts of details in it. The other three are roughly two and a half minutes with plenty of sympathy calls but zero specifics.
The confederate flags, they are real, and they suck. You will find them all throughout the south. It is not a Daytona issue, it’s a southern United States issue.
The racism, that sucks, but none of these crazy interactions with locals have been caught on either audio or video, and if there are so many of them, you’d expect to see one. Just one.
I had a lot of brown and Asian friends attend CEO2019...and nobody said anything about racist interactions they ran into. Quite the opposite, actually. So it’s hard to reconcile all these stories without anyone getting proof. It’s 2019 and everyone had a cell phone to tweet about it, yet no one nabbed video of these horrible interactions? Got a picture of anyone’s face? Were they too stunned to catch shit in the moment?
Just seems strangely convenient. If that proof exists, then you have all you need to truly convince me. Without that, it’s a story you didn’t have any sort of evidence to back up, which is important as that’s how things get proven as being true and factual.
The food? We had a great time and ate at multiple great spots, and nobody got sick or felt like the food was going to leave their bodies with haste. No details on where you ate, but plenty of hate for where you ate, even though you were using a list? Again, lack of specifics compared to a wealth of specifics in the travel stories just seems weird.

Grant Patterson this might be the most fascinating conspiracy theory I’ve had posted in YT comments

    • @GrantPattersonPlaysGames
      @GrantPattersonPlaysGames 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Sajam lol, I can see how you’d feel that way, and I certainly won’t outright diminish or deny claims of anything bad happening, but for an event that’s in its second year, it just seems strange that there’s so many horror stories without details.
Most stories of bad things have a lot of information that helps to contextualize those events. I hear quite a few bad tales about the CEO experience, and those stories suck. I feel for everyone that has those experiences. But I do notice a distinct lack of details concerning the bad things that happen, which comes off as odd to me, because I’m trying to logically piece together why something bad would result when other people don’t have those experiences, even when individual factors like same location, same race or anything else could be comparable.
That, and I think that negativity always carries further than positivity seems capable of, so the bad always seems to outweigh the good no matter what. Outrage culture is real for a reason.
Real talk: Sorry you had a bad time, man.

If your friends said something happened you probably wouldn't question it. Or gossip type things. Whether or not it happened doesn't matter, people just wanna talk about stuff.
