I'm a tech guy and use all four major mainstream software brands. Traktor is my favorite. I just need them to do a few more things before I switch back full time from Rekordbox DJ. Tidal integration, hi resolution GUI, and on the fly stems similar to how other DJ software handles them are three of my top requests. I have already bought the upgrade,
I believe it'll separate stems on the fly and will allow you to put the non-stem version on, say, the A Deck with the stems version on the B Deck. If you drop the stem version while the non-stem version is playing, the stem version cues to the exact point in the song that the non-stem version is currently playing at.
The Flexible beatgrids thing is why I switched from Traktor to Rekordbox back in the day. It works exactly the same in Rekordbox as it does now in Traktor. Serato technically has "flexibile beatgrids" but it can't do the sync feature where the other track follows the tempo change. Synced tracks in Serato keep playing at the speed it was when the first track was put into sync. (you need to put the decks you want to sync into a sync mode, there's no master deck) I might have to check if my FLX10 could be mapped to Traktor. I quite like what they have done here!
Using the Patten Player on Traktor S3 sounds like a metronome.. I've tried the 808, and 909 drum kits ...yep you guess metronome sounding! The best thing Traktor 4 did is get rid of the subscription service. Stem separation is ok but can't compare to Serato, Rekord Box, Virtual Dj, or Algoriddim where you can do it on the fly. The Flexible beatgrids "F-up" Grid Markers not resetting the downbeat as Grid Markers used to do in Traktor Pro 3. Accessing network drives was fixed in TP3 and it broke in TP4 ( I keep my music main library on a NAS drive then build playlist from there on)
I developed a soft spot for NI's Traktor software way back when I was DJTT modding my Vestax controller with arcade buttons.. but.. Virtual DJ very accessible and it now has stems! I will still buy TP4 because I have a NI mixer and DVS and the new features really blur the lines between production and performance.
Been rolling with tractor since 2000. In the few years where the other apps were ahead of them, I always knew just to stick with it who cares about the other s***..
I was using traktor 2 pro back in 2003-5 on fm radio. It has come a long way, however would like to see ableton live's warp feature with the beatgrid, or another method to address floating beats in 70s & early 80s disco.
Thanks for this great video! Just subscribed and really like the look and form factor of your grey controller in front of your keyboard. Is it a four deck controller and can you share the manufacturer name make and model?
Dj software did not become stable 10 years ago. I use traktor since version 1.0! In 2001 ! And it was ALWAYS stable for me. I worked with software my whole dj career. In fact traktor 3 which 4 is based on is LESS stable than previous versions as the software gets bloated more and more.
Lucky for you. That wasn’t the case for me. I started going with Traktor DJ for jobs in 2007 and it was unreliable. Could have been my setup though judging by your comment. For me around 2013 and 2014 there was a significant update that from that point on Traktor was rock solid on my setup.
They are back , that stuff will come, they got rid of the stipid subscription , onwards and upwards !

I use DJay Pro since many years because of Tidal, Beatport, etc... integrations. I was a heavy Traktor user before.

Awesome, thank you! It’s a Console 1 MK3 by Softube!
Thanks for the vid. You figure out stems with the X1 yet?
Not yet. Any advice please 🙏 I’m sure I’ll figure it out sooner than later! Maybe in Midi Mode??
@@EmlynInTheMix I was hoping it's native now to the X1/Traktor.
can u please tell me is m3 macbook air powerful enough for the new traktor pro 4 ? 🙏🙏🙏
Oh hell yea baby! I'd love one of those that would be crazy powerful. More so than my Mac Book Pro M1 haha

Would probably be a bit better if you were able to beat match, but excellent try!
Traktor pro 4 is a joke. Hahaha
Sorry, you lost me with the terribly annoying DnB track
