      That's because the delivery of this guy is dense, he waffles, speaks in a monotone voice in a weird cadence. Weird pauses and he repeats the same things in different ways within one sentence. Everybody would get bored/confused listening to him. The editing is terribly done.

    Organising and prioritizing tasks is piss easy. It is remembering to stick to the plan that is my biggest problem.

      YES OMG. i remember one of my friends insisted i didn’t have adhd because i was so easily able to plan everything. i’m always super peculiar with rules and stuff and i always love organizing tasks. my problem is sticking with it and even remembering that i have tasks to do even though i spent so much time creating them

      To visualize myself working on something I am really interested in, it is really hard to start at first, but then it is like I am alone in a empty room but the floor is filled with folded junk paper, I push them asside and make a space for myself and just pick one paper that I am interested in.

      If you are going to skip half the test and cannot even listen for 20 mins. You dont need to do the test for adhd you will be sure you have it.

    i think as an adult its weird to answer these, because as we grow up we develope strategies to deal with this, i make lists to keep thoughts in order, organize stuff in ways it cant be forgoten, have routines almost like a tik of checking phone, keys, knife wallet in my pockets... its why i dont loose stuff much anymore, its why i can hold down a job as a mechanic. we can even benefit from using our hyperfocus as a plus

      Auto pay bills, phone tracker and tile tracker on my key fob because i lose them all the time. Problem with hyperfocus is its only on the things we really like. for me its video games, PC building and racing. Or something that is very interesting.

      @@shiftace11 ahah video games and cars sounds just like me as well xD I recently quit my job and my hyper focus on finishing my car has got me going to bed early and waking up early it’s even made it so I hyper focus on working for others so I can earn money. So I can trick my brain into associating fixing someone else’s car with having money to fix mine. And If I get past the procrastination I generally get really focused on anything, I organized all the screw in my garage yesterday xD

      Agreed but I hate this because it makes me feel really exhausted and like I can never relax. I'm always checking my list, making sure I'm sticking to the routine, admonishing myself for getting off routine, checking behind myself, etc... I want to be able to just do something without feeling like I'm obsessing over every detail and over analyzing it.

      @@essentialasa ahah yep,blessing and a curse i find. yesterday i found out i had a bad part on a engine im building, i hyper focused on finding one all night, went to bed way to late, then couldnt sleep for hours because i was still focused on it so i woke up really late and groggy BUT i found the part i needed and now its all good and without that obsessive behaviour it may have taken me an extra couple of days to find it. ive quit my main job and now working for myself so its a lot easier to deal with a "bad" day like that but i just have to make sure i do enough work and dont get distracted by life

      OH MY GOD I never realized that the only reason I rarely lose stuff is, that I always got certain spots for certain items and I check my pockets all the time for keys, wallet and phone, which actually sounds like a tik. I also regularely get a small heartattack when I can't feel my phone... while holding it in my other hand.

      Also part 2, can feel more ...like restlessness and like anxiety but without the anxiety. You can also be part.2 if you have periods of time where talking feels exhausting - usually after being really hyped up. Or also the switching of thoughts which makes you lose focus, is hyper. What do you guys think? Anyone been diagnosed with ADHD C as well and are surprised you weren't diagnosed ADHD I (ADD)?
      P.s also standing or sitting in one place (from the duration of waiting at traffic lights or in a line - to being at a 3 hour long concert) it starts to hurt and build up anxiety, I jiggle, readjust, fidget, stamp on the spot, walk in circles... Those things I haven't seen as manifestations of hyperactivity. But wait, are you saying no.5 (driven by a motor) is what I just mentioned? Cause that question always stumped me tbh

      That's pretty common. Many people find it a relief to find out that they have an island of deficit with a name rather than just being absent-minded or dumb. There's a great book title called, "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy" about adult ADHD.

      @@PsychologyWorksOfficial a student Dr. Told me that adults cannot have ADHD after I opened up to him about my symptoms. I feel very discouraged to get help now. I thought the same growing up.

      @@norahabdulsathaar4243 My doctor's replacement was surprised when I told her I was in the middle of a dignosis for it at 30 (because it's typically done during childhood and adolescence). But thankfully in my case she was very kind and supportive and reassuring about it. Please get help if you think you have ADHD. It's very much treatable and help can change your life.

      Same. Iv always “worked around” all of my attention issues and tried my best to hide all of them because I dont want to appear stupid.
      But after hearing these symptoms I realise there is more to it since they are all so relatable. Every single one of them is a 2 or 3 🤷🏼‍♂️

    I was a 2 or higher on every one. Always thought I was just broken. Nice to hear I am not alone and others have gone through all this. I'm 25 and am having a consult with my Dr tomorrow.

      @@yashveeraudit Turns out I did have ADHD. My symptoms were just more the Attentive Disorder then the Hyperactive Disorder. Been on ritalin since the appointment and its crazy how much its changed my life.

    Very good way of explaining ADHD. The confusing thing about it is that many symptoms overlap with depression. I think that's why I only got formally diagnosed at 34. I'm sure I have both ADHD and depression, but stimulants have a much larger impact on my brain than anti-depressants, so think I'm more ADHD than depressive.

      This is interesting to read, the reason for me is because I can feel down or lethargic, but when I even think about making a coffee and after drinking it too i feel so alive so focused so motivated, then later when it wears off im back to my normal self, unorganized unfocused and general confusion

      Most serotonin re-uptake medications actually negatively affect ADHD by influencing lower dopamine levels. Dopamine is already low in individuals with ADHD, they need more to be able to focus (hence the stimulant dependency like coffee or other means of dopamine inducing substances like marijuana). I'm pretty sure most people experience comorbidity with depression and ADHD because they're frustrated with their lack of organization or ability to be effective on a daily basis. :(

      @@harumaru9609 I totally agree. When I was on antidepressants my shame spirals/feelings of inadequacy brought on by being forgetful or scatterbrained were a lot worse.
      Don't get me wrong, it's not like stimulants completely fix these things, but they calm my brain down to a point where I don't get angry at myself when I'm forgetful. It's more "Oh, I'd better watch out for that" as opposed to "You are so very, very dumb and everyone knows it."

    I'm writing these down and using them as a guide for when I talk to my psychiatrist soon. There are SO MANY things in my life that could be explained by an ADHD diagnosis (including that one time as a child where they tested me for it! ha) that if I don't have a guide I'm sure I'll just sound like a manic hypochondriac.

I thought as well 'this is me but you're probably just being a hyperchondriac', but when you can also relate inside and out to more in-depth examples like this you do have to wonder.       @@brainwashalpha5495 you know what though, just as an update I have since had a counsellor recommend to me that I get tested for ADHD and a doctor who thinks I show enough genuine symptoms that it would be worth my while as well... So coming from someone (myself) who also thought they were probably just being a hyperchondriac, you're probably not over-thinking it or reading too much into stuff and it probably would be worth your while properly getting it checked out at some point if you're struggling in your daily life and also showing a bunch of symptoms.... Even if you don't show all the symptoms... I'd say that means we definitely need more strategies for stuff even if it turns out to not be ADHD!

      @@brainwashalpha5495 I would definitely recommend talking to an adult ADHD professional about it at some point! The thing is if we feel like we don't have the skills to function at an optimal level in our day to day lives and that something is holding us back, that probably means we need more strategies, whether either of us have ADHD or not! Although depending on how costly it is where you live, if it's much cheaper to go see some kind of general councelor/ psychologist first instead of going straight to a psychiatrist/ psychologist who specialises in ADHD, or even finding a really good doctor who doesn't laugh at you and takes your problems seriously, there might be no harm in doing that first!
      I still have a 6 month wait ahead of me for my assessment and it's expensive! 🤮

    for the people who can't follow and keep phasing in and out of the symptoms he mentioned, here's the list:
    1. careless (accidental) mistakes, fails to give close attention to details during tasks.
    2. Difficulty sustaining attention.
    3. does not seem to listen when spoken to
    4. does not follow through or has difficulty finishing undesirable tasks,
    5. difficulty organising belongings or tasks
    6. often avoids or dislikes concentration tasks
    6.misplaces things
    8 easily distracted
    9. forgetful in daily activities.

    I remember being asked if I had ADHD when I was a kid. I think everyone treated it as a joke because I was a very restless child. But as I grow older, I think if I've been undiagnosed. The best way I can describe myself is that I am easily distracted yet I don't pay attention to anything in particular. I struggle with anxiety, because I don't trust my brain. I always fear I forgot something, I put something in a place and completely forget about it, I have a hard time doing things slowly (walking especially), I check my backpack 30 times because even though I know I put things inside, I just HAVE to make sure they're there, I talk too fast and too loud, I do 10 tasks at once and finish maybe 2 of them. My attention span is literally the worst.

    When my girlfriend asks me (for the 4th time, because she knows me and gives me a lot of chances) to look if there is enough space in the big paper bin in our backyard for those boxes we want to throw away. And I'm like 'sure, I will try really hard this time!' and I'm leaving our apartment and in my head I'm like 'look into the bin! look into the bin! look into the bin!..' and I'm halfway down the stairs (we live on the highest floor in the building) and I'm still like 'look into the bin! Look into...' Next thing I remember is being almost at the supermarket, writing my girl that it just didn't work... But she's super cool and she loves me the way I am and she is very supportive to me finally getting my diagnosis. (Found out that I might have ADHD about a week ago and I'm over thirty.. so ^^ that's the way we go now)

      I just went through this. I knew something was wrong with my brain but couldn't figure out what it was. I was thinking early onset dementia or a tumor ... Turns out after consulting with my doctor, a therapist, a neurologist and a psychiatrist. Is diagnosed with adult ADHD. Blew my mind.

      I'm getting an assessment in just over a week and I'm hoping for a diagnosis of ADHD, because if it's not that, then something else is wrong with my brain haha!

It made my life a little bit easier:) at least the constant self-blame is almost gone at this point. I'm almost ready to accept myself for who I am, now that i know the reasoning behind my weird character!

    my test score is 20+6 and I have no problem sleeping whatsoever (i always sleepy) i'm good standing/sitting still (with books), I'm patience, I'm also an okay listener because one of my interest happen to be stories. I also good with crafting... it is calming. but i have bazillion of project unfinished. bazillion of things missing. stupid mistakes. I took attention to people's talking but I often miss the important parts or crucial details at the time it matters, but I swear I did listen as attentive as I can to the point it become frustrating. My mother has OCPD, and I think she made me slightly more organized/calm than typical ADHD

    I'm so glad I got diagnosed when I was 6. I never stuggled in school, but I was just wild. I graduated valedictorian in high school, but then started struggling at university, as all of a sudden I had to put in amounts of work that I never had to before. If not for an ADHD diagnosis, I would've been lost and confused.

      i struggled a bit in school but it got worse when i went to uni. i would find myself fiddling on my phone, feeling like i just wanted to bolt out of there and missing like more than half the lecture cause after 5 minutes I would zone out then tune back in and back like ah shit lmao

    3- i zone out when I’m talking to someone, I listen what they say, those words have meaning, but I don’t process them 3
    4- I do something, I have to do something else, I go do the other task, but I should thst first task first, but the other one could be quicker so I get rid of it, and I keep switching between tasks, 3
    5- idk about this one honestly
    6- there’s stuff that I HAVE to do and I know I have to do them, but I can’t get myself to do it, and I want to do it, and I’m told I have to do it before x day but I can’t force myself
    7- I LOSE Everything everywhere
    8- im zoned out most of the day

      I found this interesting and I scored very high on all of them.
      It seems to have gotten worse. My question is , will ptsd create adhd?
      My problems seemed to magnify after a highway , head on accident in 2015.

    I honestly don't know anymore. I started going to the psychiatrist when I turned 17 because I felt like I couldn't function normally and thought I was lazy, yet everyone always praised me.
    I also nearly broke down because I failed a school year then, I just couldn't panic about it, if that makes sense. I felt like I didn't care that I was failing even tho I was scared to death inside.
    Something that I always say to try and explain my thoughts is "Me and my brain don't think differently" and by that I mean that I feel or think something, but my brain still has more power over my body that it just doesn't let me. Just like that fear that I felt, but my brain ignored. But that was a few months after I reached out for help.
    My psychiatrist wouldn't give me any medication even few months into the sessions, we also mostly only talked and I felt like it was pointless going there, but I tried forcing myself because I heard so many people say that it'll help me. In the end even a year later, when I turned 18, the doctor kept telling me they couldn't help me and that they can't diagnose me. Oh also did I forget to mention that they ALL said I can't be diagnosed with ADHD before 18. I lost all trust in them, but I don't know what will happen. I failed my second school year, which in my country means I can no longer go to school for free, so I somehow have to find a job. I know I can do it and I know I can survive, but I'm not sure how will I do it...

    holy crap. i even have the impulsive ones like interrupting people when i can see where they're going (i find that delightful when people do it to me, like "yes! we're vibing! we can have a high bandwidth conversation!". yet some people really need to plod all the way to the end of the sentence and get very upset when you don't. so interrupting isn't just a trait, it's an entirely different mindset. interesting)

    So the question is how do I go about getting help.. I've researched for some but end up getting overwhelmed and putting it off. I tend to do that a lot. Also thanks for the video. Growing up I was always told I was smart but I had anger problems.(around7-9 years old and took anger management) I was obnoxious. Blurting out answers. Had troubles focusing on reading even though my grandmother was a reading tutor. I had some troubles sleeping at night because I would just lay there feeling anxious (I didn't know what it was at the time but felt like I was going to Disney world the next day. Always getting kicked out of school or getting detention. I did well on my math test in middle school and high school but slacked in doing any home work. I didn't Even bring my instrument home from band and practicing it at home. Something I enjoyed doing. Which I haven't done in years. I'm 28 now. I've had troubles keeping down jobs even ones I liked because of some stupid reason or another. I enjoyed delivering for Amazon because I enjoy driving and it was good exercise and I was good at it. I always thought it was just anxiety. Which it could be but after watching several videos on ADHD and this one video. I honestly think I have it. It just sucks no one pointed it out before. And I have a hard time following through with things. I don't have medical and I don't even have a general physician. So it's not like I can talk to my doctor about it. Anyways sorry for the over sharing and thanks again for the video and any extra help is appreciated.

      lol same! Anger management before 10 years old. and yeah. how the hell do you get help. I'm in the same boat rn. the thing is that it takes so long to see a psychiatrist, so my brain is like "its ok ill just look into it tomorrow, one more day wont make a difference". its like unless I can get the help RIGHT NOW my brain and I get into a huge battle. its not an adaptive thought to have but its hard to break out of it

      I feel you. The way you described your childhood problems feels like I looked into a mirror. I had the literal same thing going on. Very impulsive, couldnt wait, time felt like crawling and weeks were eternities before christmas.
      My saving grace in live is that something happened that I managed to catch the curve when I was around 18. I managed to loose the hyperactive side of it, as I can sleep well, have no problem waiting for stuff and so on but I am still inattentive. Very much so. For example, im watching this instead working on an assingment I should do x)

    I got through the first test, then got distracted reading comments 😂. I've been obsessing over researching ADHD since I suspected it in myself about 2 weeks ago. I've been talking to my mom about my behavior as a kid, she's convinced I have it. My official evaluation is next week. I am really looking forward to some clarity. Then I'll be getting 3 of my 4 children evaluated.... our house is a bit crazy, my poor husband. 🤦‍♀️

    I finally booked an appointment. I put a 3 on all these questions. I imagine that is not normal at all if you're "normal". Accidentally answered ten of them. I don't know how or why.
    I'm 35. I just want to be diagnosed. It would answer so many questions. Life, right now, does not cut it for me. If this is all I am, I'm out.

      Just get the diagnosis and get on the meds ADHD medication is the most effective and varied medication in all of psychiatry

      Hang in there friend. Getting a diagnosis might take some work. You can face people who don't really get it or believe it. If you find a good psychiatrist and get tested for ADD make sure to mention if you had these symptoms before the age of 12.

And thinking back to when I had an assistant for myself in grade two just to get me to class.. idk why this wasn't thought of from the people closest to me when I was a child.     I was able to watch this only because he's reading me like a book. I can concentrate on things that are interesting. I got a degree in chemistry because it was interesting, but now that I am working I just nod and agree with my boss in the workplace because it is boring.

      let's face it having to listen to instructions/being told what to do is always boring! It's easier to just to be told one tiny little thing at a time and go off and do that, or mess around yourself and find what works through trial and error, rather than be expected to take in a load of instructions all at once! If you have a good mind for chemistry you'll probably be able to figure out what he/she was trying to tell you most of the time anyway

    I am someone who has many of these symptoms (a rating of 15 based on the criteria), but since trying out Ritalin in 2019 for a few days and realising it did not work, I didn’t go back to my doctor. I was able to finish my university with a top 20 percentile result without any medication (UNSW in Australia, one of the top-ranked university in Australia), but life is kind of like a daily struggle for me. I consider myself to have better attention to details than others (I made a lot of efforts to avoid small mistake, often meaning that I need to check my work several times), do not seem to have trouble actively listening to others and not losing things often, but I do exhibit some of the other symptoms. I am now again at a productivity rut, and hope to visit another psychiatrist to get help. I am sharing my experience because I hope that this might help others who are searching on the internet for people that exhibit similar trait to themselves.

      Sounds like you don’t have ADHD. If you had it, you would know. Productivity ruts are normal for everyone, but this usually means you are not genuinely excited and energised by the tasks you are doing (work/home etc). That’s also expected if it’s not something you truly enjoy. That’s most likely what you’re experiencing, and you might also be feeling some other stressors about life and uncertainty about other thing’s currently in your life too. Also, 100% normal, but worth taking the time to look and talk about those things and figure out what things might be bothering you or taking up your energy to think or worry about, or maybe your work just isn’t exciting and engaging enough to you currently. All normal stuff. Good luck dude, take time to look at these types of things regularly:)

    I have an incredibly high score on the Attention Deficit Side, and a very low score on the Hyperactivity side. My hyperactivity score might be higher if everything was mental, like I don't talk excessively, but I often think excessively while someone is talking, I also think about how I would do a task someone else is doing.
    I do find that there might be analogues to the answers that are primarily for children, instead of running around the room I will often sit in an unconventional position on the chair, or opt for sitting on the floor when chairs are available, and I will move in position and trade chairs in long meetings and events. I did this as a child, and still at 35 years will do this.
    I also will often not do my work at my desk, the moment I got a laptop that allowed me to work I was all about it, using conference rooms, co-workers areas (when they let me) depending on the day I might move about or I might pick one spot and stay. I don't know if these fit the descriptions of the symptoms, but It feels like it satisfies the urge to run around.

    Thanks God I had the thought of maybe having this disorder. I've been struggling for years and not knowing what was going on with my mind. I was confused with the anxiety, mood swings and depression, but never had thought about ADD. I had 2-3 in all 9 symptoms of ADHD Inattentive. I'll be seeing a psychologist by next month. I'm sure I'll be diagnosed with it.

    I drift off in thought in conversation not bc i cant follow but rather that I am having too many thoughts to keep track of. It could be a word that sends me off on a tangent of thoughts or internal questions. Or it could be their real intention or analyzing their features. Or sounds, smells, abstract concepts, etc. Then I have to double back to explain what i was thinking; if it ever comes to that. Mostly the conversation has moved on without me.

    According to this, I don't have it. Understanding needs to be shown BIG TIME to the ones who do though. Because it was hard enough in school trying to focus for any length of time on boring and mediocre shit like maths. So I don't want to imagine how that must feel to have that same thing happen when it's to do with something you DO like. The other thing though is how I daydream. I LOVE being in my own thoughts, mainly because I spend most of my time alone, in solitude, not isolation 😛

    My doctor said mine is a 12 on a scale of ten. Despite my best effort I made it to 1:30 before I found out myself thinking about caves and music and my dog and will I be able to pay bills and playing along to music in the background. My life is hell. Straterra works but gives one ed in days.

    I'm at 4th question of inattentive part, had to pause because I can't concentrate well, also I wish there would be higher number than 3. :D I feel like some questions aren't "very often" but "24/7" :D
    edit: I finished the video, it's the highest score for inattentive (maybe worsened by anxiety, which I know I have) and high score also on hyperactivity part. So I'm going to see a doctor about it and I hope it will go well, I'm nervous. But I really need some help, because I like my job and I want to keep it and it's hard. And my personal life is a mess and my physical health is terrible, as I can't keep any routine, like eating well, exercising or a good sleep. ADHD diagnosis would explain a lot.
    Thank you, this video helped me a lot and I think it will be a great base for conversation with my doctor.

    How come something à la: "emotionally unstable" or "easily flies off the handle" isn't a criteria? That's one of the most common denominators, historically

      That is a common characteristic seen in individuals with ADHD. I can't answer for the authors, but I think it may overlap too much with other disorders, although there are many other disorders that do have symptom overlap. I think their goal is to refine it down to a point, where clinician's will get the most accuracy when assessing clients/patients. It may be that if something like "Has mild, short-term irritable outbursts, and then regains composure moments later" were added to the list, there would be too many people being wrongly diagnosed. Then, again, maybe the researchers missed the boat on this one. There's always DSM-6.

    O, very interesting, my ADHD friend thought i might have it, and can HIGHLY relate to almost every attention deficit symptom. And a fair few of the hyperactivity ones, which although are frequent are usually quite mild. As well as rejection sensitivity which oml is too relatable. Idk if i actually have adhd but its interesting nonetheless.

    I was diagnosed with autism in my early twenties but have been feeling a lot of recognition with ADHD experiences of others, had 3 of value 2 or higher on both the attentive and hyperactive side, just wondering how much ADHD and Autism overlap on these ends because I see it a lot but dont know how they are supposed to be differentiated (or whether I may have both). I feel like in the past I had more hyperfocus on things and now I struggle a lot more finding it and sustaining it, or motivation in general. Organizing things is something I enjoy a lot but I'm not good at sustaining it on a regular basis, I forget about it as if it doesn't exist until I pick it up again.

    The book is a guide; diagnosis should not be based entirely on the symptoms itemized in this book. Diagnosis should be based on other factors including psychosocial stress and family dynamics. A diagnosis is as good as the knowledge of the clinicians. Peace to the world!

    for a long time i knew i have depression but a friend recommended i might have inattentive adhd (he has been diagnosed adhd)
    most characteristics of inattentive adhd i had them since i was a child. they just got so severe when i started college and adulting. so im wondering what really is my problem..
    guess i'll never know 'cause mental health care is expensive as f#ck from where i am. i dont care about the label, i just want to get medication and be normal for the first time..

    Turning 24 this year, my whole life I always thought I was just airheaded and fidgety. Never bothered to be assessed because I never exhibited the "stereotypical ADHD hyperactivity"-- the running around all the time, can't keep my body still, etc (although I've always fidgeted A LOT and never noticed it), so it couldn't be ADHD right? ...Right?
    Literally didn't have anything below 2 in any of the questions. Guess my mom was onto something after all lol

    I’ve suspected A.D.D. when it became popular in my High School. I looked at it more like a fad rather than a diagnosis. I’m starting to see things that disrupts my work or nuance tasks at home

    One day during highschool (even though it was like it for months) I noticed I didn't have anything I needed in my locker...would always have to write on a bit of paper and borrow a pen...what my locker DID have though, was being packed full of empty Red Bull cans, and they all tumbled out one day, so I got into trouble.

    I always knew something is wrong with me . I always feel the pressure coming inside of my body ,not being able to do things the "chill" way (Letting my brain do it alone without me pressuring it with thoughts or fast moves and actions .
    (Years earlier i searched if i have adhd , i didnt know it was a thing , i just read about it while i was researching for mental problems in general but never actually payed attention and i considered that i dont have anything)
    The time that i really tried to understand my "body" and my "self" was about a month ago , because after many years with anxiety and depression mostly started on my 22 years (coming in from ADHD because i was stressing why iam the way i am )i was tired 8 years later, i had enough of it. So i really tried to focus on videos like yours and article reading about ADHD. The first video i really payed attention was from another doctor explaining ADHD and it was like he was talking about my life and me personally, that was the time a Light bulb "appeared" over my head and i said thats what you got.
    From that point i really tried to think of my self when i was younger . I immediatly felt a relief. . I never focused on school and never studied but somehow i was an acceptable student, until a bit later on my last years of school that i was a mediocre and lower ,taking the basic high school diploma with 14/20 .I never tried for college cause i couldnt sit and read even if i attempted to i closed the book 5 minutes later.
    I also was never responsible for living things and for the society and not only.
    From your questions , if i dont have all of them in a 2-3 , i have at least 90% of what you said and i am a guy that always tells my self maymbe you dont have that much of a problem and you making it up , thats why i dont rate 3 easily.
    Now i am 30 years old and trying to get a diagnose of ADHD . Hope everything will go well and live my life responsibly if i get diagnosed.
    This comment took me long time to write cause of focusing and trying my best to type it so you understand it . English is not my mother tongue and its a bit harder.
    I would really love an answer of your thoughts, if you can ofcourse understand me.

    I have TRD and ran through almost every antidepressant without it working. My doctor decided me on Ritalin (possible ADHD) and I noticed a big change on it. More focus and it almost wiped out all my anxiety. (Unfortunately, it doesn't touch my depression) Does anyone have similar experiences when they started a stimulant?
    Is it true that people who take stimulants without ADHD, they would have completely different effects from someone who has it? This medication feels like it's what I should have been on since I was in 4th grade.

    This helped me so much, trying to figure out the ones I wasn't sure about to fill out the self assessment my doctor gave me. Some of them I didn't understand, so the examples were super helpful. thank you.

    I suspected that I have ADHD but wasn’t sure until got in touch with a therapist on Voicely app. I am so lucky that I decided to talk to a stranger there. Now I know what I am experiencing.

    Told that at my age there is no reason for treatment or referral as I must have used strategies to get by, they think that I suddenly have all these organised and planned regimented responses all neatly arranged in my head.
    I have watched this four times so far, well skimmed through it that many times. Could not even get around to answer any of the questions with any score or even to add anything together, too much trouble, thought of it for a very short while, but after thinking where a pen or pencil may be, but could not be bothered. What I listened to seemed to fit me at highest levels mostly I think. Did not hear them all, typing this as it plays, so half listening.

    I have two, may have overshot 2 or 3 symptoms because i really cannot remember well and also fear i might answer "wrong", but always overshoot because i feel like if i have it, its better to say i have a lot of it or that might get overlooked, but i literally have everything at 2 or 3 (most at 3). ever since i found out about ADHD and how it fits perfectly into my life experience i started questioning if i really have it or not because my brain is weird and it loves when im really not sure about things, and based on having had to mask and downplay my brain activity everyday for 22 years i thought now that this must be mild ADHD, because i learned to stop myself from doing the worst things, doing less bad things instead (actually turned my life into a constant state of depression and anxiety that i never knew the origin to sooo, bad call). In truth tho, i constantly feel overwhelmed, its either too hot or too cold, too loud or too bright, too many sounds at once, too many unconfortable points of contact of my body with whatever im sitting on, the clothes, thoughts, everything, at once at all times. Basically i wanted to know what im expecting, because i still cannot find the courage to go to a therapist for an irrational fear that i may be told im completely normal and be back to square 1. i know i have something, ive never felt like i was completely normal, every trait i have that would be considered normal was born from having/meaning to please somebody or really having to suppress something i knew was innapropriate. I think i should seek help asap, and i have been diving into flashbacks from things i always did as a kid and still do and everything has been making sense for a while now, but i always feel like taking the big step and going for a diagnosis wouldnt go as planned for some reason.

    Oh my god. One of the more frustrating things I used to do to myself:
    I used to put my garbage in the back seat to drive it to the dumpster but I always ended up driving my garbage to work or the store. I did this all the time and I had to start chanting “Garbage in the back. Garbage in the back. Garbage in the back” for the whole 60 second drive out of the parking lot. Even still on rare occasions I’d get down the street, forget why I’m chanting the words, before realizing and turning around. So frustrating.

    I'm currently in the process of trying to find a psychiatrist, I am already talking to a psychologist but haven't been formally diagnosed. I scored 2-3 for every of the inattentive criterion. (Scored 2+ for 6 of the hyperactive criterion, mainly the impulsivity symptoms) But at the same time I'm not sure. Some of these happen several times per day but I'm not sure if it means that something is a 3 or a 2. Like at work, even so I'm basically driven by fear of not getting things done (I'm an apprentice chef and our head chef is scary) I can focus-ish in the morning after an unhealthy amount of caffeine to get through a bunch of prep. Obviously I stiff often forget things and, can quite easily experience those symptoms but generally I am able to get at least a decent amount of focus done. Later in the day I get frustrated because it feels like I can't focus on anything, the sound of the fans or distant conversation drives me insane. Even so I might still be doing prep, albeit slowly, it's like my focus is zoomed out where I am almost on autopilot but I can't seriously focus on what I'm doing.

    with no.6 even if I enjoy the thing it's hard to concentrate on. Say, if I want to play a game - I can only do it for an hour tops. It makes me feel tired and hungry, sooner than other people. I can "hyperfocus" on looking up meaningless random stuff though...

    I'm currently working on a diagnosis for possible ADHD. I am 90% sure I have it, with 10% being constant imposter syndrome and my brain stubbornly debating me that I don't. I've also been obsessively researching and talking about the subject for the past 2 months, and it's been brought to my attention that that is one of the signs of neurodivergent thinking. It's been a weird 30 years thinking I just had to do better, that it's all my fault, meanwhile being incapable of doing so.
    I've also scrolled through the comments several times, and scrolled through twitter while watching the video. I've also had to pause it several times because I keep getting other thoughts, so yeah

      @@shahnazfatima9240 Hey. I am trying to get a diagnosis currently. Kinda put it on hold because of the holliday. But anywho, I've been seeing a psychiatrist. All she ended up telling me was that not only did she not know much about ADHD (she didn't even know how it was treated), but she also didn't think I had it because I was able to get to school.. She told me I was smart but bored.
      Of course, I'm refusing that ridiculous answer lol. But I am trying to get another opinion

    Have a high 3 on ALL of them. (Found old hospital paperwork stating that i had Pervasive Atypical Developmental disorder with possible inattentive ADD, i was 8 (circa '82) i'd love to get an assessment but can't afford it. (Not the second part...not totally)
