- See the full story behind the Aarey forest issue. The government planned to cut down almost 3000 trees in one of the last remaining green lungs of mumbai - Aarey Forest Colony for construction of Mumbai Metro shed for Metro line 3. Many environmental activists have been protesting for years regarding this and have been suggesting alternative lands for this use. The government and BMC rejected the alternatives and still chose to fight in court regarding this wherein the Bombay High Court ruled in favour of felling the trees.

Delhi is polluted cause of diesel vehicles which is due to the high tax imposed on petrol . trees cannot handle particulate matter and petrol vehicles hardly emit any particulate matter and co2 can be handled by trees.

The tees which are planted are already half grown and they are of atleast 10-12 ft. tall already. Its not like they sow a seed for a tree becoz that wud be nonsensical.
That is why its called 'Tree transplantation'. So they are doing that.

Aarey colony is a beautiful place and our school is in aarey colony and we love this place.
This is a really good awareness video. Although I was against the tree felling, I didn't really knew about these facts before this video. In fact, many of them who live in Mumbai, I being one of them , dont really know about these fact, especially about that Kanjurmarg corridor. Try to share this video as much as possible. It's high time, we need these awareness to reach everyone , so that everyone act's responsibly.
At an individual level We can spread Awareness only! This is the harsh reality 😔
