I always find the story of Poland so sad and similar to the welsh (read native britons) only Poland was far more successful many a time and united where we failed. 1000 years of war and occupation and we welsh barely control our own laws. the Poles on othe other hand, held strong, no matter what the world threw at them, even in defeat they still won.

First protests and strikes against communism in Poland was in Poznań in June 1956, that was almost named an uprising, not in the Gdynia and Szczecin in 1970
My grandfather was from the area of today's Vilnius. His family had a choice, either to be Polish and to leave or stay and be in the USSR. As a small child with the family, they rode in an animal carriage. He also talked about soldiers who had been cursed as they had to steal food from civilians to survive. Hardly anyone dared to help them because they did not have much, and the next day the KGB came to the village and accused them of help. Sorry for my English :)
One mistake. Lech Walesa wasnt the creator of Solidarność nor it wasnt a cult a person : common misconception. He only took leadership a rpresentative role of movement rooted strongly in catholic church in crucial negotiations between communists and regural workers who decided to rebel against goverment. (most industries was controlled by gov - thats how centrally steering economy works). Hes very controversial figure. Recently found documents suggest that he couldve worked with commies to distort meaning of this word . He also syphatises with left & globalists. & his speeches may suggest that he indeed have sth to hide. If he has sth to hide then it means that Commies have still infunce on Polish politics.
Yeah walesa aka bolek, was a communist snitch, the whole solidarity movement was taken over by communist puppets. We got false heroes today created for the masses. The guy has IQ of a tadpole and can't form a proper sentence so how could he have been a leader of anything on his own? And of course he did not start the movement.
Not "could have" but he certainly did. The court approved his signatures as legit on documents proving he was a snitch, reporting for financial benefits.
As a pole, I appreciate this series as it helps people see what we have accomplished in the past. Also I love reading the comments, they are so nice :D

And that is why I have a profound respect for them and their country. As an American citizen with no connection to them, but I really enjoy learning about them and their country. I hope to visit there someday.
I wish I could still talk to my From Poland Family members. My Great Grandma had multiple birth certificates with different data. She single hndedly took care of the majority of the lineage and for most part of the 20th century she did it without a man as he passed away somewhere near 45 years before her. She never remarried but managed to raise 12 children, and many of those childrens children as well.
“Maybe one day Poland can enter space” that’s as funny as the South Park episode where the boys get the “Mexican space program” to send a whale to the moon
The USSR never joined the allies. They didn’t share common enemies with the allies, other than Germany. They didn’t go to war with japan until the very last day of wwii, the day of the bombing of Nagasaki. They were only at war with the European “axis” or, basically, the signatories of the pact of steel. They made it very clear in Poland that they were NOT part of the allies, or they would have helped liberate it instead of taking it for themselves. They also had a separate alliance called the Comintern, or Communist International, which was mostly just an extended sphere of influence it had with Mongolia, Tannu Tuva until its annexation, and the eastern bloc.

I have heard and read a lot about your history
One day, I wish you complete freedom and independence in YOUR OWN COUNTRY
One day it will come Bronwynn. NEVER give up hope. That is the only way to prevent it happening. Honour your history, teach it daily to everyone who has forgotten. Rekindle the flame of freedom where it has been extinguished. The future is in the peoples hands. Wish you success.
Stay strong Bronwynn - adfyd a ddwg wybodaeth, a gwybodaeth ddoethineb! Learn your native tongue, keep your religion, teach your children Welsh history, stay true to your Welsh roots. No one can take away your Welsh heritage.
@@emiliawisniewski3947 Djenkuje Emilia. Very well said. I was born in Australia and am a proud Australian but am also proud of my parents Polish Roots.. Your heritage is who you are. Never be ashamed of your roots as that is your heritage as Emilia stated. Only if you forget them or lack pride in them should you be ashamed as that means you are ashamed of who YOU are and nobody should ever be ashamed of their own being as we are all unique no matter what else binds us as humans.
@@saintsone7877 - I'm Australian too with Polish parents on both sides. :-)
Thanks for this series. I had heard that the Polish suffered a lot but this was even more than I thought.
YOU FORGOT OUR POPE WHO GAVE US HOPE
Ale rymy !:D
Rymy jak cholera bro
Ale rymy... jakbyś Ty był na protestach anty-radzieckich w 20 wieku to ZSRR już dawno by wyszło, bo to taki fajny rym! :DD
Thanks for this quick history series, its a shame Poland gets lost in the history of ww2.
2:35:
It was not policja, but milicja. Milicja was like a tool to enforce terror, and after the communiam fell changed into policja becomming normal police
im proud of my country. Poland never gives up
To the best of my currant knowledge, I'm not Polish, non the less I have always liked Poland and support them. Long live Polska!
hi from Poland, yep we always come back
Poland Ball in a little space helmet was so cute
The Third Partition of The Animated History of Poland. Great work!
2:36 It wasn't ''Policja''.In that time police units was called ''Milicja'' (from 1944 to 1990)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milicja_Obywatelska
Technically yes, but considering that "Rus cant do words" and don't know what militia is. I do see why he used less confusing terminology.
Thank you for this!! I am from the United States, Mexican American and I will be living in Poland for a long time supporting the best interests of the United States and Poland alike.
(most industries was controlled by gov - thats how centrally steering
economy works).
This is so great! The problem is that back in the People's Polish Republic there wasn't Policja, it was Milicja
Thanks, watched all three of these. Please keep doing these. Thank you.
If not Poland another nation cannot into spacer, but 1 men from Poland was on Space, so Poland Can into Space

My grandma participated in the Wrocław protest and she has a cloth in her house, she participated from the late 60's and early 80's till she immigrated to Colorado
Thank you for this very interesting view of Poland. I've traced my own heritage way back to 'Ruthenian' roots. B.F. Rajkiewicz
Animated history of Poland, very well spoken and easy to understand for a short documentation.
Love this video series, thanks for sharing! Now, please do the history of New Jersey... (kidding)
why nj that’s quite specific
As an American with Polish heritage who was raised in New Jersey I take this very specifically offensive.
Doit
Much like UKRAINE, the Polish people are a strong people that have endured countless horrors on them. But through it all they remained Polish. And that is why I have a profound respect for them and their country. As an American citizen with no connection to them, but I really enjoy learning about them and their country. I hope to visit there someday.
You were gone longer then the partition of Poland lol
Freedom There is something what is given ethernaly History of Poland are all about it.
Poland has not yet perished,
So long as we still live.
“Maybe one day Poland can enter space” that’s as funny as the South Park episode where the boys get the “Mexican space program” to send a whale to the moon
much love and respect for Polan from Romaninan brothers
I watched the 3 Videos, felt so patriotic that I conquered The world as Poland (RON)
I'd been waited for so long :DDD Great material as always! :D Thanks :3
We Poles are very proud of our history and our braveness.
Thank you for your work polish history in 3 parts.
Polish cosmonaut Mirosław Hermaszewski was in space in 1978.
Germany still owes us 1 trillion euro worth of damages
