And they did, they lost their world superpower tittle, their empire for honored this alliance with poles.France was decapited for had honored this alliance. Blame the Belgium for refuse to let the frenchs and englishs pass for attack Germany.Frenchs had just a few territory border with germany defended by Sielgfried line.It should be suicidal. And France had to deal too at the south, all forget 300 000 italians attacked the south of France in 1940. And France was bleed by ww1, France 39M citizens vs Anshluss 83M germanic citizens and 43M italians. If Poland was fucked by 2 countries , France too vs germany and Italia.Ratio was 1 french vs 3 germanic-italian.
How can you say they betray Poland?! They declared war to Germany when Germany started to invade Poland, not before. This is only because Germany attacked Poland that France and Great Britain started this war. And yes, they lost (France) before they even could help the poles people. It's painful to read poles see that as a betrayal when you are french or engish
Polish history has as many details as any other history of the country. The only difference is that it is the only country in the Europe that made so much for it's mother continent with so high heroism.
The Person considering poland saved europe a few times(vienna. teutons. being the first one to get out of the communist role which triggered other countries under the communist role
Good episode, thank you, but you could have mentioned more explicitly that Soviet Union attacked Poland from the East on September 17, 1939 in accordance with the Ribentrop-Molotov and then murdered over 20 thousand Polish prisoners of war. After that they arrested tens of thousands of Poles living in the East and sent them to Siberian concentration camps (a.k.a. gulags).
So he hasn't take a part in Wasraw BATTLE, but more correctly in south assault for Lwów. And more correctly he wans'nt under Stalin command, but Aleksandr Jegorow, or maybe he was a political officer under Stalin, but then he wasn't a soldier
I forgot Stalin was also a commander in the battle for warzaw and it was a joke until i realised that. Also it's my older cosin who lives still in Poland who told me about him, even sent a picture of him on his horse with his lance.
WHY DOES EVERYBODY DO THIS?! At arounf 6:00 and 8:45 mins, Zakarpattia and southern slovakia went to hungary! We had a common border and Hungarians and poles even celebrated it. WHy do you overlook the Hungarin polish friendship?
Has anyone here read the story of Witold Pilecki? His work with the Polish Home Army led to them sending word to Britain as early as 1941 about what was happening in Auschwitz (he was intentionally captured in 1940 and stayed there for years before breaking out). He repeatedly told the allies they needed to do something drastic to stop the camp.
What is missing is the Katyn massacre, and its deliberate cover-up by the West in 1943 so the Allies would not have problems with public opinion, sending more and more supplies to the Soviets via Lend-Lease. Also missing is the massive redrawing of the Polish borders with lands lost in the East compensated by German lands in the West, the massive population expulsion from the East and the expulsion of the Germans from the west ... this literally shaped the Poland of today. (edit: you covered these in the next video)
A very short but also very precise version of the history of Poland between the wars, during the II WW and a little after. Thank you very, very much !!!!
I am a polish citizen and an American citizen. Whenever I get too in thought about history, I feel bitter over Russians/Germans/etc (other occupiers) and the history Poland has with many of its neighbors. But history is just that, and as a upcoming leading generation, it’s important to remember and respect history, and mourn what we have negative feelings over. But it would be beneficial for the entire world, if we kept history in mind, but tried to not let it spark resentment, hatred, and CONTINUED abused. I’m not saying it’s currently (or anytime soon) possible that Russians and polish would care/like/love each other without worries about the past. Just don’t let harsh feelings create more abuse on either side. I really like these history videos, by the way!

Thank you, what is not mentioned in the video is that out of all partitions the Austrian/Habsburg was most pro-Polish culture and language with high social and cultural autonomy. I prefer Austria over Germany any day.

yep, but i think what Morning Star 2017 meant was that Austria didnt restrict our language culture etc. but that may have been because of how many other ethnicities they had in their country

I love Poland! I have many polish friends and they are all great! You know about horrible regimes from the Germans and Russians, so I trust in Poland when they talk about the EU .

I do not know if you will read this but, one time I met a Polish Sr. and I asked him why the don’t like the Russians. His answer was “because they are always trying to govern us”. He did not explained at all. Your videos cleared my doubts. Where I’m from we are not use to hear about eastern europe in school. Great videos and great narrator skills you have.
As a Polish-Russian.
I love both my countries equally! 🇵🇱❤🇷🇺

Are you Hungarian?
Yes please!
Pretty good video, but pitty you didn't mention, that in 1939 France and England promised to help Poland, and they did absolutely nothing during the September Campaign. (Phoney War)
That's the reason it deserves so more than one part video.
It also is interesting.
In fact he didn't say about many, many, many.... , many important things, like for example Solidarność, or Anders's Army
The Person considering poland saved europe a few times(vienna. teutons. being the first one to get out of the communist role which triggered other countries under the communist role

Poland is awesome. greetings from the Netherlands :))
When Poland is wiped off the map:
*"POLAND HAS NOT YET LOST!"*
"Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła."🎵🎶
Good episode, thank you, but you could have mentioned more explicitly that Soviet Union attacked Poland from the East on September 17, 1939 in accordance with the Ribentrop-Molotov and then murdered over 20 thousand Polish prisoners of war. After that they arrested tens of thousands of Poles living in the East and sent them to Siberian concentration camps (a.k.a. gulags).

Thank you so much for makeing another history video about Poland
warsaw nie warzaw kolego
Which one Josef?
Josef stalin ofcourse.
I’m from the USA but I’ve always loved Poland and been interested in the country’s history. What a bunch of badass people.

You need to watch "Unconquered" on youtube

A very short but also very precise version of the history of Poland between the wars, during the II WW and a little after. Thank you very, very much !!!!
history of Bulgaria would be interesting. also keep up the good work
Hi poland, you may remember my family that left during WW2. Stay strong you red and white eagles.
Exactly, we don't need any senseless wars. And if you don't mind me asking how do you feel about us Americans :3
As someone who is kurdish I totally know how they feel

This video was made possible by "Poland".... without Poland, no video
Warsaw at 1:16 is way off, that's closer to Poznan, Warsaw is north-east of Krakow.
It's probably because of moving borders and inserted graphics. Warsaw is well placed on other maps, so he know where it is :)
Bartosz Rygielski Yeah probably, just realized the borders are way off too, so might be intentional
Amazing videos man!!! And thank you for making them. Love learning about my home country (I left Poland before I got to the good stuff in history class). 7:21 There is some unspoken information (though one may see it from the visual side of the clip):
on September 17, 1939 USSR attacked Poland together with Nazi Germans.
And there is some unspoken information they forgot to mention that on October 1938 Poland attacked Czechoslovakia together with Nazi Germans.

@@Freeliner75 It was city of Cieszyn ...taken by Czechs when soviet army was near to Warsaw 1921 during war mentioned in this video...Poles just took it back same way ..both times without fight ...so its dificult to talk about attack. @@Freeliner75 It wasn't WITH nazis, we had nothing to do with them, there was no pact, so anything to call it "together with nazis". We took the land that was taken from us, and that's it.
@@fbi3881 yeah, right. Like USSR took the land which was taken from them in 1921 by Poland: Western Ukraine and Belarus.
Concerning the Pacts, nationalist Poland had been the first to sign such a pact with Nazi Germany among European nations: in 1934. And USSR was the last one, after Poland completely undermined all efforts by USSR to contain German aggression against Czechoslovakia.
Greetings from Poland :)
Thank you for this. Need to learn more about Poland.
Poland has a so tragic history. But their people never gave up. And today, again, Poland is one of the last European bastions against islamic invasion.

ah yes, part 2 of the most awaited video on your channel
One thing left out by many people which adds an interesting dynamic to WW2 and Polish history is that Adolf Hitler respected Jozef Pilsudski so highly because of his victory in the Polish-Soviet War that he attended Pilsudski's funeral and even ordered the Wehrmacht to establish an honor guard at his gravesite
