VidCon Australia Vlog: • THE SECRET CREATOR LOU...
We begin Poland's second episode with a people subjugated by three powerful empires, the so called "Great Crime" of the Polish Partitions. With Napoleon Bonaparte and the Polish poets inspiring a nationalistic sentiment in the population, this central European people would face their greatest test, while being flung into the 20th Century.

Great vid! You have mentioned german concentration camps discovered by the soviet army. Sadly you forgot to mention soviet camps discovered by germans and confirmed by invited international observers, places like Katyn, but also Kozielsk, Starobielsk or Ostaszkow. Polish civilians - mostly intelectuals - and prisoners of war have been murdered there in vast numbers.

I'm am wondering abaut how can you squeeze enough of the communist era to make a seperate part out of it. Part 2 should kindda concentrate on the armies fighting in Africa and The West while part 3 should pick up with the Homearmy and the Soviet advance. It would look better and be better at picking stuff up.

My family suffered through the entire Soviet occupation of Poland. It deeply disturbs me to see the United States embracing “socialist” policies. The first hand accounts that I got from my father and grandfather unambiguously state how terrible life can be under communism. Unless of course you’re part of the political elite, then Marxism is great!

@@imgonewiththewindfab as silesian I can tell you that most silesians want Silesia (especially upper one) to have independent governing unit while still being part of Poland (so Warsaw has less power over it). Other then that its extremaly rare to see silesian who want full departure. They are rather uncomfortable with Warsaw's rule. Warsaw itself is seen as a parasitic city with no industry. A city which can't trully sustain itself (after all it was rebuilt after being almost completely destroyed during 2nd war) without leeching other regions (so not just Silesia is a victim here).

My great grandparents stayed in poland after the german invasion during the 2nd world war. They were taken by the soviets and put in internment camps for years. My grandmother was born in that camp. At the end of the 2nd world war, they took a ship to Australia to start their new life, leaving everything behind. My great uncle went back to Poland decades later to try and find some old documents or information about our family history and there was nothing, all destroyed during the war. I'm not 100% Polish by blood but I will always be proud of my Polish heritage and I identify myself as Polish to keep that side of my family alive.

Today, your government is celebrating Bandera, which represents the UPA - Nazi Ukraine. You should first to decomunising politicians from your country and then you can teach me history. Sorry, I forget that your politics are half Ukrainians half Jews/Russians. Mayby that is why you are desoriented. Only a free history. Stop ideology.

Bonus BRS. Ukrainian and Polish historians agree that the Ukrainian Banderist killed 60,000 Polish women, children and old men during the massacres in Galicia. Even Ukrainians who refused to kill Poles, particularly those related by marriage or bound by friendships, were killed as well. Local Polish partisans killed 20,000 Ukrainians in reprisals. It is also understood the members of the Polish People's Communist Army together with the Red Army also killed many Ukrainians. During Operation Vistula the Polish Government ethnically cleansed from Poland most Ukrainians, and killed all Banderists, within redrawn Polish borders while the Soviets sent Poles westwards from Ukraine and Belarus.
It was a dark chapter in the history of Poland and Ukraine. Remarkably Ukrainians openly celebrate and make national heroes out of the Banderists and members of the Ukrainian SS Galacia which has to be a special kind of stupid when you consider that nearly 2 million Ukrainians have got jobs in Poland, and Putin is providing military aid to the Russian separatists in Eastern Ukraine.

And France had to deal too at the south, all forget 300 000 italians attacked the south of France in 1940.
And France was bleed by ww1, France 39M citizens vs Anshluss 83M germanic citizens and 43M italians.

What is missing is the Katyn massacre, and its deliberate cover-up by the West in 1943 so the Allies would not have problems with public opinion, sending more and more supplies to the Soviets via Lend-Lease. Also missing is the massive redrawing of the Polish borders with lands lost in the East compensated by German lands in the West, the massive population expulsion from the East and the expulsion of the Germans from the west ... this literally shaped the Poland of today. (edit: you covered these in the next video)

Warsaw at 1:16 is way off, that's closer to Poznan, Warsaw is north-east of Krakow.

It's probably because of moving borders and inserted graphics. Warsaw is well placed on other maps, so he know where it is :)

Bartosz Rygielski Yeah probably, just realized the borders are way off too, so might be intentional

I love Poland! I have many polish friends and they are all great! You know about horrible regimes from the Germans and Russians, so I trust in Poland when they talk about the EU .

So he hasn't take a part in Wasraw BATTLE, but more correctly in south assault for Lwów. And more correctly he wans'nt under Stalin command, but Aleksandr Jegorow, or maybe he was a political officer under Stalin, but then he wasn't a soldier

    • @commissarluke2898
      @commissarluke2898 6 ปีที่แล้ว

I forgot Stalin was also a commander in the battle for warzaw and it was a joke until i realised that. Also it's my older cosin who lives still in Poland who told me about him, even sent a picture of him on his horse with his lance.
