Just got 39 in black! Its my dream watch! Ive been waiting so long for the 39 mm version! On 39 is dial more balanced with the date, than the larger models. Love the big numerals on the dial, double AR is awesome, movement is solid! Looks sporty, yet elegant! For me its a ultimate every day watch.

No way in hell this clasp is "high quality". I have the 41mm and the clasp is cheap stamped metal. When you think of high quality, you think of a clasp from Tudor or Omega. I've got cheap Chinese homage watches that have a better clasp than the Longines.

A very attractive watch, but I would prefer the Arabic markers to be slightly smaller, especially when considering the size of the 3 o'clock date window - looks unbalanced. Also why is there a round hour marker at the 9 o'clock when there isn't at 12 and 6? Presume to match the date window at 3? A bit of a mish-mash. Finally, polished centre links a no no for me.

Hey, Mate I have stumbled across your channel, you have a great mix of creativity and practicality, and I have decided to pull the trigger on this gem. Having a small wrist, this watch is perfect, you are right about Omega, sure it's probably a better quality watch, but here in Australia I can pick up the Longines for around $2500 the Omega will cost you $7000, the question I asked myself, is, am I willing to pay three times more for a name? for a watch that is going to sit on the wrist like a millstone, or get a watch that is still swiss made, and will sit on my wrist like a bear in hibernation! I learned specs first then the brand, when I have gone brand first, I dropped so much money on watches I don't wear.

I own a number of Hydros including the Blue Ceramic 41. Clasp definitely is an own goal by Longines. The case has a rather sharp feel to it which came as a shock over other divers from Oris and Rado I own, but have come to really love it. The Omegas are probably a much better watch all round however for me the Seamaster is just way too busy in its overall design. Busy face (not helped by the skeleton hands) on top of an unnecessarily fussy bracelet. Definitely will consider getting one at some point as the face is lovely, but would look to swap the bracelet for a simpler design.

Can’t disagree but tbh I’ve had the 41mm on rubber and IMHO this should be worn on rubber

The current hydro should be bought on rubber and worn on rubber. It has one of the worst metal bracelets I've seen in a watch, the Oris aquis and the docs sub 300t both can do amazing bracelets for about the same price as the Longines and it's not like the movement in the longines will be that expensive since they're in the Swatch group so there's no excuse for a terrible bracelet. It's sharp, it pulls hair, it has ugly polished centre links and an entry level Seiko quality clasp.

Had one of these in a 41mm. Did not like that the lume markers were pushed to the edge of the dial. Also the Lume isn’t the best.
Went with a Tudor Black Bay 58 after and that for me doesn’t have the issues of the Longines.
That being said Longines is great value for money.
