I used the Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 for a few video shoots back when it was launched & absolutely loved the focal length & quality of the that lens.. love to try this as im sure it must have some of the magic of that lens

I appreciate your literate reviews. Show us how a lens performs on the human face (especially the Zeiss) even with wide angles. I wish you'd test lenses on the human face, and figure. Do more portraits. Your lens galleries are lacking in portraiture.
These lenses are a great idea. But sadly these lenses have focus breathing issue, unlike the Panasonic S-Series lenses which has minimal breathing. But the Panasonic don't have the front mount. And if you shoot Sony you don't get access to the Panasonic lens, and if you shoot Panasonic you don't get access to this lens.

It definitely does have that magic while also upping the game in a number of areas.
Great review! Strictly speaking on the image quality for stills alone, is the V-AF better than the standard Samyang compact 75?
No. It is the same lens optically

I don't know if I completely understand your question, but I do think it will require electronic contacts.

That depends on the lens. The 75mm definitely has some focus breathing, with shorter focal lengths having much less.

This particular lens has a focus breathing issue, but the other two that I have reviewed have very low focus breathing.
Focus breathing might be fixed with firmware updates i hope 😊
