I've told this story before. My worst auto-resolve came in a game of FotS several years ago. It was a navel battle towards the end of the campaign, after realm divide. I was just about finished up grinding down the multiple tiny raiding fleets that the AI loves to spawn late game, when I came across what should've been an easy victory. I had three ships: an Ironclad, a Frigate and either a 14 or 16 cannon gunship, all fresh from the dry-dock repair yards. These were seasoned ships too, though I no longer recall how many chevron's they had accumulated. Their prey was a single damaged 14 or 16 cannon gunship. The auto-resolve bar had so much green you could hardly see the tiny sliver of red. Surely, this would be an victory. What the game called my decisive victory was nearly crippling the frigate (down from several hundred crew to roughly 30 and no hull strength) and leaving my Ironclad at half health with the majority of its guns disabled. As for my last ship? Captured by the enemy. That's right, somehow the game determined that that damaged enemy ship captured one of mine, nearly destroyed the other two and than happily sailed away. Utter bullshit.
Remember to sell tech to the thirteen colonies. You get free cash and better infrastructure to take over once you complete the objectives for capture and thus more residual income and they can better fend for themselves where need be
So as well as the "Lionheart cavalry effect" your troops now have to worry about "Lionheart inadvertant grenade effect" - life must be great in your armies 🙂
I will, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, advocate again for the build up of the navy. By which i mean that, now that modern ships have become available and with the Dock in France soon doubling the possible output of warships, the battle line of the Chanel fleet could be and in my Personal opinion should be completely replaced with 3rd and 4th Rates ( and maybe a 98 gun as the flagship if Spain has large modern warships ) and the pinaces with frigates. This would ensure the safety of the isles, contact with the mainland and cheque the Spanish threat who are currently the only hostile naval power. My emphasis on naval power as great britain asside, excellent series, it has been very enjoyable !
For the more isolated minor nations or whenever you've reducded a nation to one or two settlements and both are under siege, it can be worth it to offer them a protectorate especially if its isolated territory with not mach value and you dont have the time to establish control of the public happiness. You get a decent share of their total income and they always join your war against whoever
Hello Mr. LH, Sir! Excellent news from the Carribean! That French General was definitely on the Piss! Sending his forces piecemeal in poor fashion, and easy targets for your Army! I love your Gren action! May I suggest that after a successful grenading action charge with the bayonet! That is the way! Shock and awe then angry men with tall hats show up! Completely routs them! Satisfying so! I'm pleased you picked up on Newfoundland and that French garrison, easy picking if you ask me. Then on to Brussels! Show those French tarts what will happen against the glory of the Empire! Love this content and how quickly It's coming out! 🍻
I will suggest you to check tax rate between army barracks and townhalls and reconsider destroing most of them ( which you will not gonna consider to use ofcourse) and build townhals on they place , they are very cheap early usualy.
Be careful of running cavalry and armies through your cannon implacements. The cannons in this mod is quite derpy with its' hitboxes. If they've been "disturbed" they may not be able to be moved. Just one derpy cannon is enough to mess up all the others in the unit. This will make the unit less then useless after trying to limber up. They can't move or shoot.
I've had a lot of battles in the Caribbean in the hurricane season but I don't know if it hampers firearms? best to take a substantial amount of decent melee troops
Any chance that you could put the grenadiers into the center of a line infantry square. Might be just the thing when you have the cav pinned to the square….
Worst autoresolve: 1 cannon battery vs my balanced army of artillery, cav, and infantry. autoresolve hit me with 300 casualties. Lost an elite cav unit completely.
Just curious, but can you just confirm that the victory conditions require you to take the Windward Islands? In the base game, it's just the Leeward Islands. It does of course make sense to take both, so I usually do it anyway, but...
@@lionheartx10 I *think* they mean "look if you have stuff to rebuild" I've noticed you dont always check the outer towns and things after a conquest / raid

yes, auto resolve naval is agony and I hate to fight manually as they take so long I almost fall asleep before contact

Please release more videos of the series. You really make my day! Please play full map conquest.
This series has me absolutely hooked, keep up the incredible work man!
I can’t wait for some real m’fn artillery. Just waiting for these Demi cannons is excruciating. Please give us some of that good good soon ❤
Wooooo, I almost went to sleep, it was worth to check it before
We have all been following for so long, no one remembers where the cav Memes came from 😂
3:51 caught myself screaming watch the friendly fire as your infantry marched out to attack the cav and into cannon line of fire.
Thankfully they didn't get hit ;)

Nice another episode, thank you lionheart.
Would you rather be one of lionhearts cavalry or a grenadier.😂
Do not forget your marine forces in London port

If only you could do drop-in MP battles and have viewers on the livestream fight in the AI's place!

Can you do a native american campaign next ?
35 yeomanry killed two Units of my blackwatch guards
19:50 what happened to the audio? Lol
There don't seem to be forts/walls in this letsplay, does Empire 2 still have them?
@michaelcouch66 yes forts can be built outside cities not within them like in the base game
Lionheart, where do you go for the latest update of this mod?
@@ChrisCrossClash the mod discord
This is my only problem with this mod. Single unit spam attack... russia did that to me when I was Sweeden and the same reverse 😢
@delta6man early game it's mainly militia as that's all anyone can recruit myself included. Should change as the game progresses
Plz look at stof too Rebild
