I feel like Viv needs to hire someone to just manage her online accounts because Viv keeps taking bait and dragging out drama herself, she has done nothing to help her situation, instead feeding into the trolls and lumping them with real criticism.
She won't, she has had chances to get to work hiring one but doesn't want to, she wants to do this all herself which is gonna be on her, she's been writing, directing and even voiced 2 characters in WE, I really can't respect and support her if she does this.
@@artistanthony1007If she hired a director, writer voice actors and a hundred other production management to the point that she has so many people doing it for her she doesn't even do anything on the episodes then people would still be angry Don't believe me look at odd1sout, people are complaining he doesn't work kn his own videos anymore cuz of his team So do u want her to personally work on her work or to hire an abundance of people pick a struggle
I'm pretty sure this would stop if Viv stopped responding to negativity directed towards her or her projects. Engaging with these types is only giving them more ammo to use later.
People wouldn’t stop even if all her shows, merch and posts stopped. People would swarm the fact that she left and use her stopping as proof of her being terrible in one way or another, or just dig up old trash to throw at her again. She literally can’t win, and honestly if I was in her shoes and under so much stress from all the constant hatred and abuse, I’d lash out and defend myself and my ideals publicly too. The fact that she’s getting punished for trying to speak her mind, explain anything or express frustration is so messed up..
@table2.0 I agree that people wouldn't stop immediately but I do think it will chill out after awhile of her not responding because at that point it's just beating a dead horse. It won't be as trendy to hate on Vivziepop if she stops responding because they don't really have much to go off of anymore sure there will be more episodes of helluva boss but again as I said it'll be beating a dead horse and people eventually get tired of that.
@@table2.0By addressing the unreasonable critics she is validating them. If she were to simply ignore their whining, they would be nothing but a sidenote. But by interacting with them she gives this far more attention than it deserves.
Via has been in pretty big drama, but not big enough to be full-on cancelled. She seems to not know that criticism is the best way to grow. She can just never stop getting in drama. It’s like taking your foot out of a pile of shit just to accidentally put it into a different pile of shit. It’s just a never-ending loop.
I can understand this but at the same time if people don't like something they don't have to watch it. If they want it to be what they want they need to make it themselves.
@@alybell1943You do have a point. I do get that making a show like Helluva Boss or TADC is hard but criticism is still pretty important. I wish that this drama would stop and this show could explore even more than they already have.
@@alybell1943 I think that both of you are right, but on this case I still think that she should try to take in the criticism and try to improve. It's one thing when haters are bashing on your show (don't like it don't watch it) but it's another thing when people bring up valid points and want you to improve My /personal/ opinion is that I think Viv has suffered so much hate in her career that she began to not only deflect hate but valid criticism as well, which doesn't really help her case
Then again, she has been dragged since the start of her career, overhated to the point where the line between criticism, jokes, and hate can become blurry. She used to take some of the criticism really well, like her calm interactions surroundjng character design, but the internet is too much for one to handle. Especially at the extent that it has grown to today. So she's right in being defensive. Just wrong in some areas, and I cannot fucking blame her, have you seen the shit people say on twitter? Not just to her but to everyone.
I know it sounds like she cant take criticism but honestly, as someone who’d like to make my own comic I literally get second hand anxiety watching the shit she must go through. I just genuinely hope she can push this series further out the door.
This. So much this. I’m an aspiring writer (so technically only whatever magazine ((Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov, etc)) or publishing house ((Kindle to Penguin were I to get so lucky)) would need to know my legal name for tax purposes, and I could hide behind a pen-name) and watching people go after Viv is… honestly scary. (I was also doxed when under age so _that_ was fun, and we all know how much US authorities are caring 0% about Swatting.) I have a habit of going back and researching things and since I’m apart of the Ace community, watching an _incredibly small_ group of Aros attempting to accuse (and then bully) Viv into having Alastor be Aro/Ace becuase they wanted the representation (which as an Ace person knowing the controversy most Aros face and are often accused of being unfeeling sociopaths, I have _zero_ idea why they picked the serial killer cannibal as “good representation” when that is everything they have spent years trying to dismantle. But it was a small group, as I said, and very much stan behavior). Do I care that the Radio Demon is Aro/Ace? No. Do I think it’s _terrible_ PR that will be blamed on Viv for “demonizing Aromantic people”? Yes. I think, as one creative to another, OP, the best way to handle essentially anything like this is to write _your_ story, stick to your vision, literally do not feed the trolls (I personally don’t think the gag caption for Look My Way is anything more than a “wink-wink-nudge-nudge”-much like Mammon’s “because women just ain’t funny” with text popping up saying “written by Vivienne Medrano” instantly after the line) and just don’t respond. If you do choose to respond, I think (as much as I have a wildly different memory of the books since I was young, and personally hated the ending because it felt out of nowhere) the way K.A. Applegate handled people not liking her ending is much more useful: and it boiled down to “if you don’t like my ending/story of the Animorphs, you are free to write your own story, and I encourage that creativity.” Nuxanor is absolutely correct: Viv needs to _stop_ replying to every little thing. And imho it’s not that she “can’t take criticism” it’s that the Hatedom is exceptionally vicious. (I got a tiny, nothing, fan account caught in the crossfire and wow, you would think I ate babies simply because I had the most lukewarm takes and wasn’t hating on Viv.) I feel like those of us who are aspiring comic writers, novelists, and etc. should have some way to come together. Sure, people will accuse us of just defending “our own” (Viv’s peers have run smack into that) but even if it’s just in private to help counter the negativity and remind each other that we’re not what the _literal_ haters say we are, I think that’s important. Especially because the hatedom feels _real_ powerful behind a screen. I dunno if you’ve been on Tumblr and interacted with the Hellaverse, but I had to _leave_ the “fandom” because it was a bunch of people going on the attack for character design, changes, plot beats, and etc, while acting like they could write, create, and stick with a project that “would be more original and not as lazy” while doing exactly none of that. If you go the full Indie route and don’t find an Indie publisher for your comic work, I’d realty recommend not engaging with the hate, and addressing the actual _constructive_ criticism only. Like the people who say “Hazbin is too red” who clearly don’t recognize an artistic choice, and probably haven’t studied art history and just spout whatever comes out if their mouth that they think they can use to bully someone. And it makes the Hatedom seem _soooo_ jealous and petty.
@@freshcowbacon1195 Not gunna tell ya so you can steal my Krabby Patty Secret formula. Jk but it would be with marvel so already its chances being made are slim.
@@Crisjola Its kinda worse for Viv considering the route she’s gone. She wants to make a series where each episode takes a metric fuck ton of effort to get out. People have criticized each episode of HB for not doing a Millie backstory but that isnt just one episodes job, its whatever episode they want it to be. Its good for series critique but not individual episodes. She can’t just add scenes last minute because of someone saying it needs more of something it wasn’t setting out to do. People are reviewing this like it’s a weekly show but it isn’t. Its amazing to look at the episodes that pop up and see how fast time flies when each episode appears on youtube. Makes me feel old. Also im sorry to hear that. When I was teenage i was hacked and lost 150 bucks AND a girl accused me of trying to break her up so I could have sex with her and she deliberately told all of my friends to destroy every social relationship I had (thankfully I had texts and everyone quickly ceased contact with her) that one event has made me extremely cynical and depressed lol. Can’t imagine what she must face constantly from people who feel she’s been awful too. Also hot take I think Hazbin and Helluva have had some of the best queer representation in years on alot of things. Now I don’t openly look for it but when I do see it it feels very forced for cash or not too well done, or too focused on that part alone. In Hellubaboss the characters are gay AND people, im super engaged in Stolitz, Ozzie is precious, and im super curious what they’ll do for Vaggie. To me I think a problem is when gay or non straight characters are on a series i think there is an obsession with trying to make them feel perfect and it kinda makes it feel cheap. Tuca’s relationship in Tuca and Bertie was extremely complex and got me to adore a character I found kinda annoying (im introvert don’t flame me >~~
I feel like people put way too much weight on blocking on twitter. Blocking someone just means you don't care to see their posts or interact with them, it's not some massive insult or invitation to fight, as a matter of fact it's a good way to avoid fighting because you're ignoring someone who bothers you rather than engaging with them. I've blocked tons of people for bad takes, shipping ships I don't care for, posting content I'm not interested in, etc.; it's just a way to curate your online experience, and a far healthier way of dealing with people you don't want to interact with than picking fights or trying to get other people to stop posting things you don't like.
Overall I feel like Vivzie blocking everyone who bothers her would be a better move than responding to their posts, but when she blocked the dude who made the video everyone jumped down her throat about it. Blocking is the better response, so people shouldn't come after Vivzie for blocking if they want her to stop responding to hate (blocking some stranger on the internet is not an extreme response to them criticizing your life's work, it's a healthy one)
THANK YOU, this is the same when unfollowing mutuals when we don’t talk with them anymore, suddenly it’s seen as a huge thing when it’s for exactly these reasons
The problem with blocking in general is when it encourages people to continue holding grudges like camels. It's clear that people just want to live in the past. This is without getting into how Twitter and GameFuqs also involves the blocked person being unable to view the blocking person's posts, which invites confused discussions as well. This is exploitable as well. The system needs to be fixed. It's that simple.

From partial episodes and viral clips I've seen of Southpark I think that on average it might have less swearing than Helluva or Hazbin, where everyone swears like they're cosplaying Eric Cartman. (except maayybee excluding Charlie, who still swears when very angry, as seen in the pilot)
This drama is so pathetic… I can’t believe how offended some people get over an obvious joke. I hope Viv can learn to just not reply to these fools one day. She does right by blocking them, but dragging it on by sub-tweeting is… a little petty. I hate saying that because I love Vivziepop, but she does need to just ignore these people.
Absolutely agreed with you bro. This drama is absolutely absurd and stupid. I don’t know why people would do that and now it’s never ending. Criticism needs to be stopped.
I mean she's the one getting offended over obvious jokes half the time so. Even when she makes the same joke in her own show, she'll get mad if someone else then makes said joke. I just wanna enjoy the show, I really gotta uninstall Twitter dawg
As a trans person, the whole Sally May controversy is tiring. Saying that you’re not aloud to make trans people and their bits sexy is just so… infantilizing. As a trans person, I honestly find it really progressive to show a trans woman showing off her private part. A lot of times trans people are put in pressure of “faking it” just because they’re not entirely disgusted by their body, showing a trans person being confident with their body is honestly inspiring to me. It’s honestly a good message to any younger trans fans of the show.
yea i find it stupid, they talk about them "oversizing" sally mays bulge but don't even bat an eye to the characters with massive tits, its just a double standard at this point
Honestly? I wish people would stop WORRYING about 'the message it sends to younger trans fans' and just make the damn show in their head as it is. You're never going to please everyone, especially on a topic as complex as the trans argument is currently. Ex: women's lib. A constant argument is whether sexually liberated women are a detriment or are women being strong and sexually free. Now add about ten times the level of complication to that societally and you begin to approach the depth of the trans argument. I say just let her make the show she wants to, if you like it watch, if you don't, don't. Everybody has to politicize EVERY damn thing these days.
Well, this shit is controversial even inside the trans community, so I'm not surprised, and it has everything to do with miscommunication. The main problem is, people with gender dysphoria will get dysphoric feelings if they were to "show their bulge" while presenting as a woman, and in fact many get offended by this kind of stuff as they see it as being actually transphobic. But for people who do not have gender dysphoria but who identify themselves as trans, they do not understand this at all, and to the contrary, many of them, specially those who identify as "non-binary" will celebrate things that "go against the binary". In my honest opinion, one of the problems with this is that people with GD and those who do not have GD, using the same trans label is problematic, because their reasoning for their transition is completely different.
But it's too ahead of their time, and none of us are actually ready for that sort of thing, so unfortunately for you, you're gonna have to wait several more years for this to be acceptable.
With the Sally May situation, have people never considered that there are trans people who DON'T want bottom surgery? I have two trans friends, one that's mtf and one that's ftm. Neither of them want bottom surgery. They want their respective top surgeries, but not bottom surgeries. Sally May could easily be implied to either be pre-bottom or just not wanting bottom. Let her be sexy, bulge or not. Edit: Before anybody says anything, I'm not saying that all trans folk don't want the gender-affirming surgeries. What I AM saying is that not EVERY trans person wants to get every surgery to affirm their gender. My friends are just two examples. It is valid to be trans and still not want to get surgeries. I realize as a non-trans person (questioning if I'm agender) that I don't really get to say much, but I feel like people don't really take everything into consideration. TRANS RIGHTS 🏳⚧💕
Meanwhile, I want bottom surgery but not top. Every trans person is different. Definitely agree with you that there's nothing wrong with Sally's design.
I'd recommend no trans person get the surgery yet. They are pretty damn unsafe and lead to a bunch of horrible consequences. This stuff needs to evolve more first. Right now it's just heartless doctors abusing people desperate for anything to make themselves feel better for quick cash. Top surgeries from what I've seen are fine though. Not any different from breast reduction and enlargement surgeries.
It's very unlikely if you're actually dysphoric enough (aka trans) you don't want bottom surgery. Complications, unrealistic expectations and knowing risks while still having a desire is one thing, completely rejecting it is another. I sincerely do not understand this thinking. Not wanting the complete surgery package to make me pass as the opposite sex is what made me realize I'm not actually trans and just non conformance issues instead. Which is literally fine, not every gender incrougent feeling is dysphoria that should be treated like it is trans.
@@LightBoltDash being trans just means that your gender and AGAB don't line up. Anyone who falls under that definition is trans, if they choose to identify as such. It doesn't matter if they have dysphoria or if they've got ''all'' the gender affirming care, if they fit the definition you can't gatekeep them from the trans label.
honestly I feel like Viv is in a situation where she see's EVERY critic as a personal attack on her not because of ego but more out of fear given how much of a hatedom formed around her products. Like I completely understand where that mindset came from...but that being said, some of her reactions do feel like her taking some bait when as some people pointed out, she should let someone else handle the twitter and have her step back a bit
Crazy thing is the parody wasn't even bait. The creator of that video genuinely felt remorseful and only reuploaded it after being reassured it was simply what it was, a harmless parody. Really disappointing that Viv proceeded to childishly insult the guy.
@@robno1033 well thanks for clearing that part up at least. But yeah, point still stands, Viv needs to take a step back, otherwise she can and will hurt the fanbase by snapping at everyone.
Exactly!! It’s a very simple fix to me. When it comes to a point where you can’t tell if someone’s criticism is in good faith or not, maybe just don’t respond. Interacting with hate regardless is just so unhealthy I hope she realises that soon and stops for her own sake [especially as it just ends up affecting her the most].

Interacting with hate regardless is just so unhealthy I hope she realises that soon and stops for her own sake [especially as it just ends up affecting her the most].
The biggest problem with criticism nowadays is that people use criticism as a way to enforce their standards/morals on artists and creative people instead of it being a tool to actually point to actual problems in the industry. Art (and yes writing also counts as art) always lies in the eye of the beholder, so criticism of art can be rarely to never be objective. What is beautiful to someone is ugly to someone else. What is funny is just boring and unfunny to another person. So i kinda support artists not taking sh*t anymore from people who think they can dictate their own vision of something onto the artists work. It's just rude and unnecessary. Personally i find abstract art really weird and ugly but i won't go into an art gallery for abstract art and tell every person and artist there that the stuff they like to look at is so ugly and they should start to draw real things. The best advice i can give to people who don't like a specific thing, just leave it alone. Don't engage with it. Why do you need to change something you don't enjoy and bother/harass other people over it? Let people have nice things and search something for yourself you can enjoy.
Yeah I've always thought artists had the right to make what they want as much as people have the right to criticize it. Mabye it can inform a decision or open your eyes to something but it could also just not fit your vision or be what you have fun making.
Art is subjective, but in the case of a show like this one, it's survival inherently relies on its popularity. Show writers absolutely should learn from criticism since they rely on the audience for revenue.
@@leguminous7564 That is only partially true because you can cater to many audiences but obviously not all of them. Games have the same "problem" where one feature will attract some players but deter others. And i feel like it is the same with this case here. Changing the show would probably upset as many people as it would make some other folks happy. So in that case why would or should Viv do that? Makes no sense right? Not from a personal standpoint cause she likes it how the show is and not from a business standpoint cause really she will get hate and "criticism" either way. So best to stay true to what their personal vision is.
@@ranaku603 As it is right now, the show is leaning increasingly more towards what a niche, younger audience wants. While it's not possible to cater to all audiences, changing the show's direction even slightly (i.e. leaving out the gratuitous toy jokes from the mafia ep) would appeal to a much larger audience at very little cost. At least, even if she doesn't actually take the criticism it's unprofessional and not a good look to be responding to every take.
Ok. My problem with Helluva boss isn't the swearing, the s*x jokes or whatever. My problem is they really seem to of lost sight of what the show was (at the very least advertised) to be. Like it's supposed to be about this unique company based in hell and the service it provides and the trouble it gets the crew in. It REALLY feels like the writers for the show are writing about what characters or scenarios interest them at the time. We haven't seen anything related to the company in ages (and the last time we did was in Happy Campers which is easily argued to be their weakest episode ever), we keep seeing immediate FULL character development for side catalyst characters. The greatest sin for me tho and is the reason I stopped supporting vivzy all together was Stolas getting badly injured to the point of having to be rushed to the hospital......We see an unclear ending as to what is going to happen and spend the next few episodes on side quests and missions with side characters......that is all fine to me.....but the next thing I know when I'm worried about what's going on with Stolas....I see he's just fine.....actually he's MORE than fine, it looks and sounds like he's been up and walking for awhile up till he met with Ozzie.........like wtf. You can't make me worry about a SEEMINGLY IMPORTANT plot point to just be like "Oh....no that wasn't important at all."
Also I hate how they always build up these massive villains and half of the time just… forget about them. Like the Cherubs and truth seekers for example. For the truth seekers specially there was this build up for us to see them again only for them to just… never show up again.
So they don't focus on the company enough for you, but then you admit you didn't even think the last one that did focus on the company was good? So, no winning here, huh?
I feel so bad for Viv because I think when you get dogged on and harassed as much as she has, it just gets harder and harder to understand when people are coming from a place of genuinely wanting to help you vs when they're just trying to be assholes. I hope she gets better at handling criticism one day and it gives people less ammo.
@@danjoredd I mean, this kind of thing is literally WHY they do it. I'm actually kind of surprised when the network deal for hazbin went live they didn't more or less DEMAND that anything 'officially' related with HH has a media manager, given the nature of the show and much of it's subject matter and content. There... Kind of aren't many aspects of the show that ARENT controversial in current society. I'd think normally the network would more or less DEMAND to protect their own reputation and interests with something like that being boilerplate in the legalese. As I'd said elsewhere... Now she's responsible for the show's rep... Which is now literally employing folks and providing their paycheck. Doubly shocked because when you get talent like Keith David, that's not exactly small time anymore with his sheer depth of voice work. I can't imagine A24 OR Amazon would want a hot garbage mess of internet drama causing issues, a la half a dozen other new series over the years.

Yeah the internet is something else, someone got upset at me a month ago in a comment section cause I said that I see the good in people lol this started because I replied to a comment about Jonochrome (the Riddle School guy) saying that as long as someone takes responsibility for their actions, their redeemable in my book, one comment called me a dipf*ck for believing groomers are redeemable, I obviously don´t defend child predators and am with the kid but there is nothing wrong with believing even the worst can change, though I have limits, everyone is human at the end of the day.
I really hope she doesn’t ended up like a female Seth Rogan on twitter who has full on TDS. That would fucked up her image for good. (Unless she apologizes to that specific crowd.) That’s what really terrifies me.
Not all criticism is good, but criticism is essential to improving your craft. Human error is impossible to avoid, and the more eyes and opinions you have, the better of a chance you have of making something nigh on immaculate.
But its definetly overrated af, cant argue with that. Criticism is not the only way to improve, i hope people someday will accept this as a fact. I personally have listened to three or two critics in my life, and my art improved hella a lot without anyone saying rude shit to me over and over. And besides critisism i was just learning by myself. People just CAN notice their own mistakes sometimes in things they made on their own, artists and creators are not helpless babies. Get over it.
@@bullet3417 Or it could be better for the average user. Most so called critics tend to be immature, childish & throw a temper tantrum when they don't get what they want. Not the best people to listen too.
Like honestly viv just needs to leave social media at this rate. She's destroying her own mental health and her relationship with her fanbase for mostly bad faith people who want nothing but her downfall. I understand getting tired and becoming combative when everything you do is constantly scrutinized harder than it should be because hating things is popular but it's just not worth Twitter blowing up every couple months and making viv look worse and worse
Yesterday I seen a tweet showing a harmless picture of Viv standing next to a cut out of Homer Simpson from her Instagram account. But in the comments there were people acting like she’s a serial killer with comments like “Run Homer!” and “Stay away from him!”. This is getting ridiculous.
Artists like Viv are bound to make mistakes, but I feel like it isn’t a very nice thing to harass her over things that she hasn’t done or small little mistakes
They're not small little mistakes, mind you. She genuinely took offense to a harmless meme because of her immaturity and inability to take criticism. As a result, her fans ended up harassing the person who created the meme, causing the meme to get deleted, which was exactly what she wanted since if she were to harass the person herself, she'll make herself look even worse than she already does. She hates criticism of any kind, constructive or otherwise, and sees any instances of her creations being poked fun at in a light-hearted joke as atracks on her personally. She doesn't deserve any respect or sympathy from us anymore because of her actions, because she's just not that good of a person at all in real life.
@@nevaehhamilton3493 eh I’d say seeing the same criticisms over and over from different people over the years is extremely irritating, so I empathize with her on that. Additionally being told on what to write, as it is the authors choice on their part and some legally can not change it to specifically suit exact new narratives of a show/scene (there have been cases where the show/ep could no longer air because of copyright of someone else’s idea). But constantly replying to the same thing expecting it will make a difference, when there will always be someone out there who will not like you or criticize, is the exact same as talking to a brick wall and just a complete waste of time
@Dragonking-fd1qv you see the big word is "joke" it is a lighthearted meme shitpost and was by no means a criticism of Vivzie, she was the one who decided to act immaturely over a joke.

She’s successful enough, she shouldn’t bother being down in the weeds; she’s beyond the point of having to prove herself. Also, no matter how talented you are, there will always be people trying to drag you down. At some point, you have to stop focusing on it and follow your vision.
You don't seem to understand. She will NEVER *EVER* get off of Twitter. She's extremely adamant of not having an online manager for herself because she thinks that criticizing other people will make her feel about her self. It's not about the criticism, it's about how the negative emotions from others makes you feel good. She's enjoys criticizing people and making people feel bad about themselves because her self-esteem is so low that she has nothing better to do than to make othera feel as miserable as she is. And the more miserable people are, the more joy and bliss Viv feels. You have to understand that the whole reason why Twitter is making bank is because there are people who actually feel gratification from harassing people. Just like I feel gratification in making people just as miserable as I am.

Seeing all of the odd hate for Vivzie breaks my heart, It's sad to people try so hard to tear someone down just because they don't like the stuff they make.
The hate band-wagons and shit make me extremely hesitant to put my stories out into the world. With how toxic fandoms are nowadays and the constant hate-trains for everything that isn't 100% in line with what twitter wants it to be. (Because yeah, it definitely seems to mostly be a problem with twitter, which isn't surprising, because twitter is and always has been a dumpster fire.) It makes people like me who want to share our stories and characters afraid to do so, more than we already would be given the other stuff the internet sadly is prone to doing. It's just very disheartening.
Honestly, yeah I agree that if Vivzie wants the criticism to stop to just stop giving them attention. It’s ok to respond to correct someone on something but when responding to straight up trolls is exactly what they want. I understand the frustration of people bashing your things that you straight put your blood and tears into and wanting to call them out on their nonsense but still it’s best to leave it alone. I’ve gotten trolls and it is upsetting and you can’t help but respond and give them a piece of your mind. Additionally, with the essays yeah I can see why she would say something about it because these guys don’t know anything about the show and the future episodes to come that will explain a few things like the Millie thing. I don’t like seeing my favorite show being badly talking about but I try my best not to say anything or keep my opinion to myself, troll back with a comeback, or even mute them. Anyways, yeah I agree that it’s best not to respond to criticisms you don’t like but it just depends on if they need an explanation like Millie did.
I remember being so early on in the fandom where people brought up a thread involving Zoophobia stuff and how she was manipulated into drawing trashy garbage for toxic friends, and it never scared me off. Theres a benefit to being so close to the fandom but also some hefty problems. Between Lackadaisy and all the other creators in indie animation jumping or criticism against her, I fear it will end up in RWBY territory, where everyone gets super toxic regardless of like or dislike. You can't handle everything perfectly and she regularly discusses her regrets and wants for the show, like wanting to make Millie feel more main character, which I feel wasn't fixed and regretting Loona be nonspeaking in Western Energy. I don't condone attacking people over critique, I'd rather have a success story to prove them wrong personally
To be fair, most of Vivzie's critics seem dead-set on just ruining her life and making her look bad just so they could get attention, so she has the right to be paranoid. It's why Burnie exists and why he had to die so violently. Plus, aren't there other content creators who have done far worse than Vivzie ever could, like James Somerton's plagiarizing or Dream's infinite numbers of crimes including his failed blackmail of Nicolas Cantu?
Well, think about it this way. Even if Viv did something truly horrible, did really bad stuff, there would still be people defending her as well. That's just how people are
@@aq_ua Even bad people have defenders... so what? Pile on the hate train? Idk what your "think about it this way" has to do with anything... I get that Viv has improvements to do, mostly centering around putting down Twitter. But... really? To this extent? Everything feels so meanspirited.
Oh Viv has done bad. She drew animal pr0n and cp before as a "dare" and one of her old Zoophobia ocs is creepy to kids. Not to mention she was a fan of the movie "Sausage Party" and made ocs of it one being a sexualized MLM relationship and the other being fan art of N@zi. It was posted on an old website but it got taken down.
@@Szpuppet Lmao as if anyone that's a fan of HH/HB cares about edgy art made as a teenager. Those drawings were fucking tame in comparison. And liking Sausage Party is a "wrong"?? lol Like I get that it's not seen as a generally good movie, but omg. All of that is literal nothingburgers.
The thing is...Viv doesn't seem to know the difference between hate and criticism, but there are also two kinds of criticism. Constructive Criticism A type of criticism meant to give advice and help the creator build and grow as a creator And criticism, which is what people are spouting at Viv for Helluva. Criticism is where they don't give any topics or advice to build on or to work on, and is simply there to critique others' work when no one wanted it
My personal view of Vivzie's situation after watching is that due to responding to and dealing with actual bad faith criticism for years, she's began viewing ALL criticism as bad-faith if the tone of the criticism feels negative to her.
i’m also an artist, i have autism so i deal with something called rejection sensitive dysphoria. but good criticism should never be ignored or taken super personally, she can ignore mindless hate till the cows come home and i would too but if Viv doesn’t start taking a few big gripes with the show to heart she may drive away the people making her dreams come true.
I really don't know what people expect if they can't wrap their minds around characters swearing a lot in the realm that is the literal antithesis of Heaven?
Some people just aren't happy no matter what. People complain that there's too much swearing, not enough killing jobs, that a certain character advocates for consent, that trans characters are body positive, that one character isn't a shitty parent/person but also that one character is too shitty of a parent/person, it's stupid.
Funny enough, that's one of the only reasons my husband and I can watch Helluva Boss and Hazbin. We're Christians so normally we'd find the content in the these shows really objectionable, but because it's literally happening in Hell for us it's just kind of like "oh yeah, you'd expect that there" and we don't have much problem with it lol. 😅
Well, that argument seems to crumble with the new season 1 trailer. Adam, the angel, also swears in that trailer, and I imagine he'll do so throughout the rest of the episode along with the rest of the angels. So it's not just a "it's in Hell!" thing at this point.
@@rinyaskyline We could've gauged that with S1E4 of Helluva Boss. But both shows make it clear that Heaven isn't perfect itself. Plus the show is rated R so like...whatever
@@rinyaskyline My comment was made before the trailer dropped but what Heaven allows or does, doesn't really change anything about Hell being Hell. People in Hell will act like people in Hell. The show is literally primarily focused on people in Hell. I don't see how Adam swearing changes the expectations of hellborns swearing.
what i just dont get is that shes defending the humor saying that swearing is fun, the video she got upset over used her humor and it *was* funny. basically proving her right, yet she blocked it seeminngly just because of the title
It's really sad, and there are so many people who don't know how to criticize and clearly only attack the show or Vivzie. The majority of "criticisms" are about the humor, which is fine if you don't like it, but it is not a valid criticism since humor is subjective and is not made for everyone, like I don't like Family Guy because of its humor, I'm not going to say bad because it surely isn't, but I just don't like humor. And valid criticisms of the series are hidden by thousands of tweets saying the same thing.
All this hatred and criticism that Viv gets in social media actually reminds me of one of Octavia lines in Helluva Boss. "Why does he hate her more than he loves me?" "Why do the yahoos love hating Viv more than loving the things they actually like?" She is not obligated to serve to everyone's tastes, and she sure as hell better not to. The other thing I want to brought up is that Viv doesn't seem to know how to react to hate and criticism in social media. I hate myself for doing this, but I found few tips how to deal with it all: 1. Remind yourself that comments from a hater are a reflection of them and aren't really about you. People who feel good about themselves don’t need to put others down. 2. Understand criticism can be a sign of pain. People sometimes lash out because they have other life struggles. Negative comments may have nothing to do with you. Yes I took those from Google search, but they really sound like something Viv should consider. What about criticism? "A critic should be taught to criticize a work of art without making any reference to the personality of the author." - Oscar Wilde "Everybody wants to be a critic: a critic without the actual accolades to be a critic." - Bobby Lashley Couldn't have said it better myself. Ok I've been pretentious enough for one day with these quotes.
She's always in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. She always has to respond to the negativity of Twitter about her projects, which makes her come off as somebody who can't handle criticism. However, if she doesn't, she will just get more hate for not responding to the haters. It always seems their is just a group of people on Twitter who just genuinely hate her and her work, with every breathe they take just being all the way negative on her. Twitter does prove that people have no lives and people take a problem with everything nowadays.
Gonna be honest, I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt but I feel this is where she has crossed a line. Before she always managed to skirt the line by either being purely deflective or just being passive aggressive, this time however she actively insulted someone's parody AFTER the maker of the parody had kindly gone the diplomacy route and apologized for if they had hurt anyone. They only ever reuploaded it once they were reassured it was a harmless joke. Viv then proceeds to actively insult the creator of the video after the reupload after the creator had shown nothing but kindness. And it honestly bothers me now how much we are willing to excuse Viv's unhealthy behavior on twitter just because she creates a product that we enjoy. I get it, we all love the helluva-verse and want to see it succeed and be a massive win not just for indie animation, but to also win the war against mainstream shitheads like Disney. But if we truly want indie animation to thrive, these creators also need to know that they need to be better, that whether they like it or not they have great responsibilities that could potentially change the future of the industry as we know it. Vivziepop, despite her impressive accomplishments and being one of (if not the) biggest catalysts for the renaissance is not acting the part of a leader. She has thin skin, deflects criticism, and doesn't seem to think through things. And how she reacted to this parody has her coming off as just being a relatively unpleasant person to be around if you just so slightly disagree with her on something. I honestly can't blame "the haters" for thinking she's an asshole with how she acts online. Honestly this feels like Thomas Astruc and CRWBY allover again (If you know, you know). We can't make excuses for her anymore, she needs to be better.
I mean I love and respect Vivzie as an artist but goddamn this woman cannot stay out of drama at all. Also, I have to agree that the excessive swearing and sex jokes withing Helluva gets a bit too much at times and I say that as someone who has a very lewd sense of humor. Like for example, the whole running dildo gag with Moxxie and his dad really killed the mood for some of the more darker and interesting parts of the episode and that was honestly really frustrating for me. Also, if you are swearing just for the sake of swearing or being lewd for those same reasons, then that is not good writing. Its annoying. Thats why I am not a fan of Seth Rogan - I feel like he swears just because he thinks its cool to swear like some edgy middle schooler. Its childish and bad writing. If you're going to include lewd or foul language, make sure you put effort into the writing to make it work. Overall I still think Helluva Boss is a really good show and I am very excited for Hazbin Hotel, but the excessive swearing and sex jokes tend to hurt it more than help it - also Vivzie needs to learn to take a joke.
I just want Viv to be able to enjoy the creative process and see the positive reception from the fans who do support her. I’m getting frustrated too and it sucks trolls ruined what could’ve been a cool fan creator relationship having conversations with her as each so drops instead of fights about pin designs , but I think like we’ve all been saying that ship has sailed and it’s just not worth the trouble now. Maybe if Viv just even takes a year off the Hatemob will lose interest. I think she unintentionally fules it
I can see how this would bother Vivziepop it must definitely stack up over time but there was definitely a better way to deal with it. Personally I just hope Vivziepop just calms down and takes a break and just ignores all the hatred because there’s still the majority of people who love this show and all the work that her and the team put into everything! Bring the profile picture back!
I for one am happy that Vivzie still takes the time to engage with both the good and bad parts of the fan base, it creates a level of transperency that you don't really get from many other people in a position like hers. Sure, it stirs up some drama from time to time but I'd rather have that than straight up having her be censored and her feeling like she shouldn't interact with the fan base and express her own opinions at all.
I mean all it does is cause her pointless stress and make her look worse. I'd like for her to be happy and healthy and for me to get to just enjoy the show please.
@aq_ua to do that youd need to take away the hate and the hurtful words disguised as "cristism". Some are valid cirstisms but most arent imo. Also ive said this before its hard to ignore hurtful things online because they are right in your face and also a person like viv cant ignore it because whether or not she responds its deemed bad. Countless years of getting bullied for the work you do, yes, this is a side effect of said things. Also ive been harrassed and bullied just for liking vivs work. Its not a viv issue its the "haters" issue. Nobody said you had to like their work. Its fine if you dont. Dont harass and bully people though. You really wanna hate? Avoid the work. Avoid the person. Its much easier to avoid then to shit on a person. If your want to make a cristism make it a valid point not just something about what you dont like. If you want to make a cristism, make its actually helpful. Art and animation and the work viv does is very difficult and plus viv and their team is human, what you say can and will hurt them. Hell every youtuber every celebrity is human. You wont talk to your friends the eay you do to these people if they did better than you now would you? Tl;dr same thing can be said to vivs haters, dont interact with her if you dont like it. this goes in general for anything. If you can say viv should just ignore it than say it to the same people writting those comments.
@@AtlasVoid_ I... Don't interact with her because yes, I don't like her, but I also don't go out of my way hate her. I just pretend she doesn't exist. I am perfectly fine enjoying the works that she makes, thank you.
Thing is she'll still get that even if ignoring it, she blocked someone because she didn't find their video funny and people said that's her not handling criticism? @@aq_ua
when the show started i loved it but it has Seriously gotten so hard to watch. like genuinely ive found myself skipping through episodes and groaning at all the bad humor and the constant swearing it like listening to a kid who just learned how to swear and thinks saying them over and over makes them cool and it just doesn't at all
Tbh I probably haven't been in the fandom long enough to say anything on the situation and definitely don't use Twitter as much as I used to, but things can be done from both parties to make this community and fandom better and supported in the right way. Whilst Viv might not be able to help replying to troll message and replies and such, it shows (like in the Millie thread) that she's passionate about the show and wants it to succeed, and that can mean criticism isn't taken lightly if you're the creator. However, if you don't like the show because of a specific demographic it's targeted to or the language it uses, the merch it sells, the animation or anything like that then there's millions of other shows that people can watch to entertain themselves, or if you'd still like to support a creator, I'm pretty sure constructive and helpful criticism would be taken much better than just calling merch "disgusting" or anything like that, I don't understand why shows have to be put into the spotlight like this now and be critisized in evey little way, whilst it might help with publicity and expressing an opinion, the only person you're hurting at the end of it all is yourself by setting up for an argument
Real criticism is trying to help somebody improve their work so they can grow as a person and as a creator. Sure it may seem negative but still plus there's people that crap on other people's stuff for no reason.
Viv needs to take a break from social media for a while. And since we won’t get Full Moon until next year, I feel like being off of social media for a while will be the best choice.
Let’s be honest, with the amount of hate vivzipop gets Im not shocked she has reacted this way to all criticism. It’s gotta make you super insecure and fuck with your mind. It’s probably made her super defensive to everything. I feel bad for her and I hope after hazbins drop she can take a break for herself because it’s clearly getting to her. Also fuck the haters they have 0 chill and should probably get offline as well. Seriously it’s like there whole personality’s sometimes.
Regarding the constant swearing, it's funny she said that about Southpark. They had an episode discussing why it shouldn't be overused. She basically sounds like a hypocrite.
She’s an arrested development edgy woman child who still thinks she exists in the era of adult invader zim fanfics and tumblr. Like a kid who just learned they could swear and talk about sex
I used to be a fan of viz but she's really mean and stuck up she blocked me on twitter in 2022 bc I said in my own personal tweet "I don't really don't mind the need for redesigns but I don't have alot of hope for alastors new va because its hard to find the perfect voice for characters from an older time period." I knew that I didn't want to support or give my money towards her projects. Why should I support someone who doesn't even respect her own fans ? However, as an artist myself I do have alot to say about the show. I find viz to be insanely lazy with: 1 the bodies are always the same, if not for niffy, carmilla and mimzy they all blend together. 2 The voice acting isn't good especially for Valentino, Katy killjoy, Adam and rosie. 3 The angels are underwhelming and just look like pastel demons (wich would be fine if not for the fact viz has sinner designs in heaven. If their hell forms are based on their sins in life why wouldn't they be look like normal people in heaven? Also why does Adam look like every other demon? I'm so sick of every demon looking like an imp or furry. 4 adult animation doesn't/SHOULDN'T= constant swearing. It's lazy and it comes off as what a kid thinks "Adult animation" means. Cussing and dirty jokes don't equal maturity. 5 alot of things about the world building doesn't make sense. Adam ate the fruit and swears too why isn't he in hell? And why isn't sir pentious in his human form in heaven ? Why is he still a snake ? Viz is an incredibly lazy and entitled person, when you really think about HB/HBH isn't special or unique. Alot of stories are set in hell and have some "hellborn royal" marysue oc. Viz is a great example of getting a lucky break for something subpar.
Some of what you say makes sense to me, but theres a few things i disagree with or can say is the point of the show i think the voice acting bit isn't accurate. Alex brightman did a fantastic job, i love Rosie's voice, and Brandon Rogers cameoing in HH is a funny addition. I think the point of the show is to say that all human souls are essentially the same thing, no matter where they get sent, so it makes sense to me that they wouldn't be dramatic changes in how they look. Something I've noticed is that every character has a different capacity for swearing. Alastor hardly ever swore, while Valentino swore like a sailor. I think people need to realize that, just like in real life, some people swear more than others. I swear consistently (when it wouldn't be audible to kids), while my fiancé only swears occasionally. That's just how real life is, and obviously hell is a place where you're gonna hear it more often. If you haven't realized the whole point of the show is that the system for who gets into heaven is corrupt, then there's not much hope for your media literacy. It shouldn't take a genius to figure that one out. Obviously Adam shouldn't have gone to heaven, but he is the product of nepotism. No matter how bad he was, the system worked in his favor. That's another thing that happens in real life. People get things they haven't earned or shouldn't be allowed to get simply because they are who they are. Rich people or famous people often don't have to face justice for their crimes.
Is it that surprising? Everytime she breathes too loud there's an internet mob ready to claim she's the worst animator in history. Hard to take normal critique when it comes with twice as many bad faith takes
Honestly, at this point, I say the ratio is more like 100 bad faith critiques to each good faith one She can't even sneeze without someone criticizing it and saying stuff like "That's the worst sneeze in history"
@@aether610You know whats worse. A bunch of tweens and teenagers defending a grown ass woman because she has little to none emotional maturity despite being old enough to have colleagues that are settling down and having kids.
She puts most of this stuff on herself though. Like how do you expect NOT to get into drama when you act so petty? Also is it really that difficult to distinguish trolls and actual criticism? She needs to learn how to handle stuff, she’s literally a grown woman.
@@spunchflopbadpants I'm 31 and the ability to deal with a wave of bullshit isnt something you just magically acquire with age. This isnt someone just getting into an internet spat or a minorly well known person in a fandom getting trolled, this is someone who fucking donated money and had a huge vocal part of the internet shitting on her for it. More than half of the drama is literally assumptions and perceptions by people looking to dislike her.
I think its a tough spot. I understand not responding is usually the best way but we are all human. I feel like everyone can only take so much. Even the people saying someone can't take criticism, probably can't take it themselves. I don't have the answer to this; I think this is a general problem of the internet but for Viv its harder being someone with a decent following that likes to interact with friends and fans but gets scorched alot. Its crazy.
The show set in Hell has naughty words in it, I am the shonk. Obviously Hell should be depicted as a totally wholesome place where no one swears or has sex or does drugs and everyone is super nice to each other all the time. /s
Look I’m not totally for or against viv, I love her work and I don’t know much about her as a person, but she’s clearly not mentally well, she keeps getting thrown into shit and responding to it causing her to get thrown more and it’s just a cycle that she’s having trouble breaking, and it’s clearly taking a toll on her mental state.
Usually the rule of most jokes goes as "It's only funny they first couple of times. But after a certain point, if it continues to be repeated, it goes from being funny, to being annoying."
Every single insult of her artwork and the how the show is made is so incorrect, of course they are gonna swear, and of course they are gonna show how sexy they think they are, it’s HELL. The MAIN place of this stuff.
Uh, no? You can't just say someone's opinion is wrong like that lol. Everyone thinks and likes different things, just because they don't like something you do doesn't make them wrong
@@aq_ua well, many opinions are, in fact, wrong. Someone can say their opinion on bullying and harrasing is that its cool and needed in society, but its actually really wrong and bad opinion.
@@MrTalithan *sigh* and the only reason you use that specific one, is because it supports your argument. Many MORE opinions aren't that black and white. Either way, how you choose to react to criticism, good OR bad, is a personal choice that reflects on you, and partly on what kind of filmmaker you are in her case. Many of the best ones don't react like she is. Or at least manage to not openly and publically make a spectacle of themselves over it. I get she might feel a certain way, especially with people being asshats. But internet gonna internet, and the only thing feeding trolls is gonna do is endanger her upcoming show on a major platform and make both her and everyone attached to it look bad if the creator can't keep her mouth at least reasonably shut over internet drama. She's kinda responsible for some people having a job now. Kinda behooves her to take the criticism with a grain of salt and just say 'meh. If you don't like my work, oh well'.
@kyraeuswulf5091 The claim was that you can't say an opinion is wrong. I disproved that. He said it as an absolute, which I summarily tore apart by giving an example of an opinion some people hold that is objectively, verifiably wrong. Your long-winded spiel is entirely pointless here because it is irrelevant to that.
In some ways the 'if it was written by Helluva Boss' writers' videos are not only a joke, but a meme and a troll, which is something you shouldn't feed into. Viv ought to realize not to feed into something like this being an adult. That on top of getting into non-stop drama, is bad for business. If she keeps it up she may end up in a situation where things could go from bad to worse all because she either couldn't ignore, or didn't react in a mature manner.
I feel like Viv should negotiate with the person giving criticism instead of attacking, point out the good AND bad of your show but also negotiate some ideas
Watching this, it feels like Viv is a child whose writing "adult" animation that mostly has children as fans. Hence thinking swearing is funny. Would explain why they can't write good characters. And think some are "healthy".
I grew up watching Viziepop ever since 2015 when I was in middle school, she was someone i dreamed of becoming and is currently on my vision board for inspiration. I've slowly felt bad about all the controversies coming up about her it truly was like watching my childhood hero as flawed like me and also being a bit disappointing then when I first heard of her. I myself am studying creative writing and learning how to handle criticism because even if Vivian isn't as "perfect" as I once believed her I wish to learn from her mistakes. Ps. Genshin impact if Viziepop wrote is so funny to me as that's my fave game.
Haha zoomer ‘vision board’. Let me guess, you’ve accomplished and created nothing - instead of ‘looking up’ to people and ‘really really feeling like you are a creative’
I don't think either party is right or wrong, both have their options and that's fine. However, what is not fine is people obsessing over dumb things and hating vivzie for it.
I think the “swearing/sex jokes” criticism isn’t valid at all. Sure the show shouldn’t put them during emotional moments, like they didn’t put any during Stolis and Blitz’s moments, so it’s not like they don’t know when to put them.
Since I first ever saw Viv's work I felt she had an incredibly organic and natural expression and focus on underlying LGBT themes and I think all the characters are creative and fantastic. A lot of depth, tons of drama and tragedy and really authentic and personal feelings. People who say she can't write can keep their criticisms, but I've always found the show incredibly relatable and warming.
I didn't notice the swearing in Helluva Boss. As an Australian, it's only a little bit more than the average amount of swearing in casual conversation.
Nine times out of 10, people keep getting pissy on other's behalf. It happened with Speedy Gonzales, and with the Washington Redskins. People just decide "I find this offensive on *this group*'s behalf. It's hell. People are gonna swear, whether they like it or not. If they don't like it, don't watch. Don't expect a creator to change something they worked a long time on because you don't like something that isn't even all that bad.
I don't think Viv is a bad person and I respect her work, but it really does feel like she gets too hurt by criticism. I understand she's definitely more emotional right now because of all the hate, but a lot of the hate keeps on going because she keeps on feeding into it, and the haters love to see her respond. She's not shrieking her head off or anything but you can definitely tell she is very stressed and bothered. "If you don't like the core of our show then don't watch it" feels like it can go the other way around as well. If you don't like the core of their criticism then don't listen to it. People are capable of feeling like a show is bad and expressing them in a polite manner, and I say this as someone who, like Viv, is an animator, artist, and a writer. A lot of the criticism she has replied to has been unjustified and rude yes (that whole merch thread was nonsensical), but throughout this video, there were a lot of comments that were expressed *politely* but she was angered by the idea of any kind of retort. She says she accepts criticism when presented in "a good way", but then when that happens she still responds defensively. Again, I understand she's running high on a lot of stress at the moment, but it's really not good for her. It would honestly be a thousand times more beneficial for her shows and her own mental health if she not only stopped responding, but also maybe got off of social media for a while. I think it would be really good for her, and it feels like she needs to learn that the things other people say about her work don't matter at all as long as she loves it.
There's a big difference between criticism not being welcome, and simply not being valid. "Omg There's cursing" is not a valid criticism, and she has had to listen to this bullcrap for years at this point.
i hate the "there's too many sex jokes and swears" kind of people, this show is one of the very few good modern shows that dont follow the family friendly formula. why can't people just move on and instead they feel the need to crap on anything they don't enjoy edit to clarify, i'm not saying critisism is bad in any way
We had it in the 90s aswell or 80s swearing isnt that new so why the negative hype other it the show is in hell after all family guy american dad rick morty simpson south park is full of it aswell or robo chicken and i see no one complain
@@jasminkrieger8464True. But swearing could be done in a more joking way like in case of Zoltan from Witcher 3. Only shit and fuck all the time is very uncreative. Swearing too often limits your vocabulary

"It's a complicated situation" ...Not really? It's just a case of people who really love to mock someone, and then cry when they get talked back. Alongside an issue where a creator tries SO HARD to own someone. I do not agree nor consider to be a solution to just "not respond", that's essentially asking creators to shut the fuck up and that once you reach a certain level of popularity, you DESERVE to be mocked and can't do anything about it because "you look like punching down". Personally, if a creator destroys their image for responding to people who think "I don't like it, therefore it's bad" is good criticism, then i don't think the creator had an image to begin with. And even now using the release of season 1 in hindsight, it's clear that Twitter is not a reliable source since appearently "If Hell is forever, heaven must be a lie" is too complicated to understand for Twitter, yet for the sake of the argument, the best that could have happened was for Amazon Prime to be the page handling the promotion for the show LOL
Some may say Viv can't take critisism, but i will ask: Does she even need any? Like, yeah, sometimes critisism is a really good and useful thing, but i feel like its overrated. What most of you people forget about is that artists are not little babies who always need someones help, especially if they're someone like Vivziepop, in other words, now newbies at all. Artists, most of the time, are able to notice their mistakes over the time, and any kind of critique can be triggering btw, and its not like we all ask for it desperatly. I dont try to speak for all the artists in the world but for those who can understand me and support my opinion, because i just know forced critisism is something not many people really like. And i said critisism is overrated bc people think it will fix all of problems in someones art. Spoiler: No, it will not! I ask for critisism sometimes, but i can notice some problems in my art without other people. And im pretty sure im not alone. Besides, its often for many such " critics " to just point at parts of an artists style and say its bad, while it was intended to be there. Anyways, i know we are not talking about style and art exactly, but i put this as example. Not everyone wants your critisism, its important to listen to other people but not always. And no, critisism is not the only way to progress in any kind of art, grow up.
It seemed to me that Viv does find criticism that actually takes her intentions and wishes and goals, as well as the reality of her work life into consideration helpful. I think the problem is more so that she gets a lot of stuff that is basically just people having different taste but saying it's citicism.
People criticize her shows because they want them to be better and Viv seems to not want to improve. There are many flaws in HB and as time goes on only more flaws pile up and flaws that were there from the start are NOT improved upon either and those flaws are some of those she had since Zoophobia.
It’s so sad to see people hating creators like vivze for (mostly) bullsh!t reasons and harassing them to an insane level when they’ve barely done anything legitimately wrong Some people crave to much attention from bad things and need to get actual lives outside of twitter
The issue with viv is i feel like she needs to stop responding to so much criticism on Twitter. Sometimes she reply’s to situations extremely hurt when they aren’t criticising her but light jokes made by actual fans of the show. The digital circus parody video is hilarious in my opinion, it is quite spot on imo but didn’t need to turn into a massive ’drama’ I didn’t see it as hate but a light joke at the writing style of helluva which admittedly sometimes over does a lot of its sex jokes. I see the circus video as a lighthearted joke about the difference in writing, I get being defensive over your art (even I am) but viv keeps putting herself in drama over silly little things and the tweet of her saying how if you can’t appreciate her humour then she feels bad for you really left a bad taste in my mouth, criticism is how you grow as an artist, it’s how you improve a skill further. Admitting it’s not everyone’s style is fine but acting like a child on twitter over it definitely doesn’t make your show seem desirable to watch to new comers, viv always responding to petty drama on twitter is my biggest issue with viv and it just makes me wish she had some kind of management to take care of her account because she CONSTANTLY responds to petty drama and always ends up looking rather childish and undesirable to new comers, even some of her own audience members and or possible brands who’d want to work with her. She needs to learn not every mean tweet needs a response, not every snide remark commands her attention. It’s why people do it, they know they’ll get a big response from her. She needs to either step away from twitter or learn to ignore a lot of the tweets she likes responding too. It sucks seeing something you’ve worked hard on get shat on but I feel like viv responds to the wrong people, and in a very wrong way. Blocking on twitter shouldn’t hold this massive weight but best thing she can do if it effects her so much is to simply block and move along. She comes off as very unprofessional on twitter and it definitely harms her in the long run. Some random twitter user doesn’t have a reputation to look after but viv very much does now as a leading indie animation figure and multiple show runner. I can see companies turning away from working with viv if her behaviour doesn’t mature in future.
Honestly with how much Viv gets into drama, I feel like it can be hard to tell what is genuine criticism for improvement and just hating on the show. It’s not she can’t take criticism, it’s that since of how much hate she gets, almost everything is just seen as hate
The haters really just need to shut up and let Viv do her thing. And Viv needs to ignore social media and take a break from that for a bit. She makes great shows, and while 90% of other shows like this aren't my thing, AT ALL, I love both the Hazbin Hotel pilot and the HelluvaBoss series. I love how multi dimentional her characters can be, like Fizzy.
She CHOOSES to respond to harmless jokes and trolls instead of actual critique. Then she gets all upset and fuels the fire to drama. She’s not an innocent saint, she also needs to mature.
I feel like she does listen to criticism and that's the biggest flaw of Helluva Boss. She does what fans want, fans don't know the whole plot and at the end makes the show a little disconnected. Like in Happy Campers, before it, Millie was never treated like she was less than Moxxie. It's fine to have a character that's already developed in a show, she has already grown. And the swearing and anti climatic jokes, coming mostly from Blitz, always felt like a "I don't know how to deal with serious shit so I joke about everything to kill the bad vibe" to me. And since he's growing, he's losing that. Like in the last episode when the emotional moment between Fizz and Ozzie wasn't interrupted by Blitz (even tho he was there the whole time).
1:42 I'm a fan of South Park and I guarantee although there are sex jokes, they aren't as excessive as Helluva boss and is used in a much better way unlike dropping F-bombs twice every five minutes and that being the whole premise of the joke
what i dont get is that like, there isnt really criticism??? i think viv has just been harassed for years by hundreds of people and blocks people who she thinks are doing that.
ffs people forget this is Vivienne's show and not theirs, they're allowed to find dick jokes and shit weird and gross but its just fucking mean to tell a creator to repress their humor and style of writing simply for their own comfort when they can just stop watching the fucking show. I genuinely think vivzie is justified to be offended when someone straight up tells her that her show is shit and should be rewritten. Yes vivzie has fucked up with some people genuinely trying to help her with criticism, but the way some people are "criticizing" her work is like looking a chef right in the eye and spitting in their food instead of just not eating it and moving on.
Experiencing the drama about Vivzie not handling criticism argument was really exhausting to behold because I was just minding my own business retweeting the lovely fanart of the Hazbin Hotel characters. Just seeing more Vivzie drama is so ridiculous that she needs to learn and ignore what is going on Twitter. Viv doesn't deserve this unjustified hate all because of her shows have a heavy adult audience theme put onto it, but I honestly feel like she needs to stop posting on Twitter whenever a discourse about her takes place or whenever her haters attack her for no reason other than attention. I respect Vivzie and her work on Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, but she needs to learn to ignore discourse like this that has happened recently. The situation revolving around the "TADC if it was written by the writers of Helluva Boss" in my opinion was really distasteful. The video really wasn't funny and it felt more insulting for how Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel is more than just strings of adult humor and swearing. I watched the Hazbin Hotel pilot more than enough times to even lose count and I see it as a very unique concept that would become the official series we'll be getting in January of 2024 and it was more than just a compilation of swearing and adult humor. The "joke" video on Twitter really should've stayed down because I don't blame Viv for getting upset about the situation. And how other tweets started to follow the same trend is so disgusting that it is honestly getting repetitive and grating to see. If the original tweet was phrased more differently without intentional implications to poke fun at Vivzie and her shows, then I wouldn't mind the video being just a joke video, but since the video was put back up all because of popularity is honestly disgusting to think about it. So that's my thoughts on all this ridiculous Vivziepop drama. Viv should really ignore all these discourses on Twitter and the whole "X show if it is written by Vivziepop" trend was really not that funny to begin with and I just found them more insulting than anything for how both of her shows is more than just compilations of swearing and adult humor.
You should address the Alastor controversy that just happened recently. People are accusing the cast and Viv for being "racist" for having voodoo magic. Personally, these guys shold wait for the show to release before jumping to conclusions
The swearing/sex jokes aren't even egregious. They're downright restrained compared to something like South Park. That's just how people talk outside of school and work and PG-13 movies and places like TikTok and TH-cam where you can't even say "die" without getting banned or demonetized. The near-death of R-rated movies and conservative pushes to remove all mature content from the internet to "protect the children", forcing everyone to self-censor even for an intended adult audience with asinine euphemisms like "unalive" and "r-word" has really warped people's perceptions of what normal speech is.
i really respect you for criticisizing vivzie and still showing your respect for the show. many fans of stuff blindly defend the creators just because “i like the show and the person who made it can do no wrong”.
For her own sake she should disengage, but on the other hand, I'm sitting here wondering why any of these people even care. Like, if they don't like how she responds, then why do they keep responding to her or reading her replies? I'm watching and reading the tweets on this video and I agree she doesn't respond well, but I also cannot find it in myself to care about what she's saying because at the end of the day she's doing very well for herself and has nothing to worry about. I'm way more bothered by the people who keep antagonizing her for...what? Not being able to take criticism? Why do you care? Get a hobby. I have zero faith that people making a big fuss over it actually want her to grow. They just wanna take her down a peg, imo.
i might be the only person that doesn't let the Helluva Boss/Hasbin Hotel hate get to me. If those 2 shows ain't your cup of tea, I've got news for ya, there's P L E N T Y of other animated shows you can watch & enjoy on TH-cam or amazon prime video. ....Like Sponge-Bob or Archer!! that being said, Vivzie needs to ignore the hate those 2 shows get and move along. not everyone's gonna like what you like.
i feel like the problem i have with Viv's stance on how others criticize (for example) the humor in her show, is that it's always either "yeah this show has a lot of dirty humor, so what?" OR "there's not THAT much dirty humor in it smh, ya'll are just exaggerating." pick a lane, stick to it and stop switching it up. it can't be both.
The biggest issues is she constantly likes and supports posts that things she doesn't do anything wrong but she does deserve criticism because how she acts can be considered toxic
Literally didn't even notice there was a lot of swearing in Red Stuff (that's what I call vivzie media) it's just normal realistic dialogue. The LACK of swearing in normal media is what stands out and feels weird. IRL people fucking swear.
Vivziepop’s little tolerance of the overplayed “Hazbin and Helluva characters always swear because of dumb writing lol” jokes is understandable. That being said, how she expresses such feelings of discontent come off rather hostile to anyone not in the know. Her not-so-vague type tweets also don’t help in the slightest. That being said, I feel a lot of the “she can’t take criticism” crowd are only butt hurt because a creator of a piece of media they hate is finally calling them out publicly. Speaking of not being able to handle criticism, these mfs are chock full of insecurities, having to create non-issues about external parts of a show they have an unhealthy negative obsession for. P.S - A recent time I actually thought Viv was clearly in the wrong was when she put on blast the Scooby-Doo X FNAF guy, where she dogs on him and never mentioned that him being blacklisted from a career was also a clear wrong from the actual actors.
In that PS scenario, I recall she didn't go into detail on the actual situation at all and just gave her opinion on using AI for acting projects... She stirred trouble by commenting at all, but I'd hardly call that dogpiling the guy. She clarified multiple times that she wasn't making a judgement on the guy himself. Plus, said animator reached an agreement with the actress that threatened to blacklist him (she admitted she overreacted and apparently apologized, though not nearly as publicly). He reuploaded the Springtrapped short redubbed with human actors and all is well in the end, except for the still-ongoing AI discourse, namely when it can be utilized appropriately.
I agree, I am not even on Twitter and I am more then over these freaking haters/fans antics to get attention. I never block opposing opinions on socials, because I like seeing both sides. But I block anything Vivz critical now because it’s always the same damn things just texted a little differently criticizing each episode. And it’s rarely constructive criticism either, it’s mostly what they would have preferred instead.
@@QuincyQuinn95 If I recall, Viv mentioned she didn't know much about the whole thing. This is not bad on its own, but her public tweet to her huge audience about a subject she knew little about, on top of people in the industry acting like the guy in question did this awful sin (remember, the project wasn't making a dime) felt in poor taste. May just be me, but it felt like she was punching down in a way, you know? And as I mentioned, she never once talked about the worst offense in my opinion, the VAs trying to blacklist a guy full stop for using their AI voices in a non-profit thing. That's just plain wrong and an abuse of power people brushed over because "everything AI bad." And sure, the VAs can apologize all they want, a well-meaning person would never dream of resorting to such finite measures over something so miniscule in comparison. People can change, but eh, gives me bad vibes even now.
It's crazy how much she and her Twitter situation remind me of the 'Miraculous'-creator Thomas Astruc. Both face a lot of hate and slander both towards themself as well as their works and writing styles but also aggressively respond to people and topics they probably shouldn't thus fanning the flames. Of course the difference being Vivzi is a young woman heading adult indie productions receiving hate from people outside her fandom while Thomas Astruc is a middle-aged man working for established companies on family shows with most haters being from within the Miraculous-fandom. Still, it's sad how much of a hateful place the internet has become over time, especially towards creative people...
The way I see it is if she doesn’t want to take criticism, she doesn’t have to take it. Like, I don’t ask for criticism because I don’t WANT criticism because most of the time, the ‘criticism’ is ‘lol you draw/write bad’ and they’re just really mean about it. You can have an opinion, good or bad, just don’t be an ass about it and Vice versa- don’t be an ass if someone doesn’t like your stuff. All this drama is exhausting to me, Viv is one of my biggest inspirations and seeing the amount of unjustified hate she’s been getting since the start of her career makes me not want to share my own work.
Seems to me that a lot of people -- especially when a creator is known to be active on social media -- can't distance themselves between critiquing a product and criticising a person. There's a huge difference between "I think Hazbin Hotel's character designs are too homogenous" and "Vivzie only knows how to draw one body type". That said, artists also need to realize that making themselves constantly available (and constantly active) on social media is part of the problem. Not the singular root, but it's much harder to separate a product from its creator when you can go bother the creator at any time and know that they'll see what you're saying. Boundaries need to be built again.
I feel like Viv needs to hire someone to just manage her online accounts because Viv keeps taking bait and dragging out drama herself, she has done nothing to help her situation, instead feeding into the trolls and lumping them with real criticism.
amen
She won't, she has had chances to get to work hiring one but doesn't want to, she wants to do this all herself which is gonna be on her, she's been writing, directing and even voiced 2 characters in WE, I really can't respect and support her if she does this.
@@artistanthony1007If she hired a director, writer voice actors and a hundred other production management to the point that she has so many people doing it for her she doesn't even do anything on the episodes then people would still be angry
Don't believe me look at odd1sout, people are complaining he doesn't work kn his own videos anymore cuz of his team
So do u want her to personally work on her work or to hire an abundance of people pick a struggle
Trolla are even butthurt if you block them so you dont win either way
@@HaughtyToastnot really she dont tell the sickos to send her death threats or brutal videos or stalk her thats why she left social media twitter etc
@@Mediados exactly
@Mediados criticism is just apart of art that's inevitable and if you don't like it don't listen.
It's one thing when haters are bashing on your show (don't like it don't watch it) but it's another thing when people bring up valid points and want you to improve
My /personal/ opinion is that I think Viv has suffered so much hate in her career that she began to not only deflect hate but valid criticism as well, which doesn't really help her case
@@Aquiron2Just like what you said, you are both right. And have points I can definitely agree with.
I know it sounds like she cant take criticism but honestly, as someone who’d like to make my own comic I literally get second hand anxiety watching the shit she must go through. I just genuinely hope she can push this series further out the door.
What’s would the comic be about?
(I was also doxed when under age so _that_ was fun, and we all know how much US authorities are caring 0% about Swatting.)
I have a habit of going back and researching things and since I’m apart of the Ace community, watching an _incredibly small_ group of Aros attempting to accuse (and then bully) Viv into having Alastor be Aro/Ace becuase they wanted the representation (which as an Ace person knowing the controversy most Aros face and are often accused of being unfeeling sociopaths, I have _zero_ idea why they picked the serial killer cannibal as “good representation” when that is everything they have spent years trying to dismantle.
Applegate handled people not liking her ending is much more useful: and it boiled down to “if you don’t like my ending/story of the Animorphs, you are free to write your own story, and I encourage that creativity.”
Nuxanor is absolutely correct: Viv needs to _stop_ replying to every little thing. And imho it’s not that she “can’t take criticism” it’s that the Hatedom is exceptionally vicious. (I got a tiny, nothing, fan account caught in the crossfire and wow, you would think I ate babies simply because I had the most lukewarm takes and wasn’t hating on Viv.)
I feel like those of us who are aspiring comic writers, novelists, and etc. should have some way to come together.

Then people bitch and moan like "oh you can't take criticism waaaah." As if their 'criticism' was actually valid enough to acknowledge.

I don’t understand why people get so mad about Vivs choices, it’s her choice to draw what she wants
I can say from very personal experience that everything you wrote is absolutely true.

Wise words

Honestly the longer drama keeps following her the more chance that drama will destroy her career.

(Because yeah, it definitely seems to mostly be a problem with twitter, which isn't surprising, because twitter is and always has been a dumpster fire.)
It makes people like me who want to share our stories and characters afraid to do so, more than we already would be given the other stuff the internet sadly is prone to doing.

@@QuincyQuinn95 So drawing canart for n@zis is tame? You're going to excuse that? Drawing literal CHILD pr0n is excusable?
The thing is...Viv doesn't seem to know the difference between hate and criticism, but there are also two kinds of criticism.
Constructive Criticism
A type of criticism meant to give advice and help the creator build and grow as a creator
And criticism, which is what people are spouting at Viv for Helluva.
With the notoriety she has, she should ignore people attacking her. It only makes everything worse.

It doesn't matter what Vivziepop posts, she might not have a problem with Twitter, but Twitter has a problem with her.
She does have a problem with the Social Media Formerly Known as Twitter, an addiction problem.
@@HenshinFanatic best way to help her case is not engaging on twitter drama and focus on making her content sell
what i just dont get is that shes defending the humor saying that swearing is fun, the video she got upset over used her humor and it *was* funny. basically proving her right, yet she blocked it seeminngly just because of the title
I hate myself for doing this, but I found few tips how to deal with it all:
"A critic should be taught to criticize a work of art without making any reference to the personality of the author."
- Oscar Wilde
"Everybody wants to be a critic: a critic without the actual accolades to be a critic."
- Bobby Lashley
Couldn't have said it better myself. Ok I've been pretentious enough for one day with these quotes.
5 minutes. Can Vivzie Pop go without some sort of controversy regarding criticism for *5 MINUTES!!?*
Maybe If She Stays Off Twitter.
Or if she would just take things on the chin and move on/take criticism and improve the work.
Twitter is a terrible place to avoid that
No, she can’t because she’s immature
@tweettweetyweety I'm immature but I know when to back down.
Viv: I'm taking a step back from twitter
5 mins later: REEEEEEEEEEE
I’d be fine with her engaging with this if one harmless joke video didn’t cause her to act so petty

I find viz to be insanely lazy with:
1 the bodies are always the same, if not for niffy, carmilla and mimzy they all blend together.
Some of what you say makes sense to me, but theres a few things i disagree with or can say is the point of the show
i think the voice acting bit isn't accurate.
Honestly, at this point, I say the ratio is more like 100 bad faith critiques to each good faith one
She can't even sneeze without someone criticizing it and saying stuff like "That's the worst sneeze in history"

I’ve been seeing so much hate against Vivzie lately and I think it’s very undeserved. Thx for this video so Ik I’m not the only one😊
@@aq_ua Actually you can. If your opinion is that the world is *flat* then your opinion is literally wrong.
Genuinely can’t tell from the thumbnail wether this is hate or not lol
Not everything is either hate or praise, the video is neutral.
How about you watch the damn video

@@tbeast151 I commented this under a minute after release
I thought I had a reply but its disappeared, that's weird
Yeah, I always wondered why Moxxie was treated like shit despite having a stable, loving relationship with his wife
It’s not even “Viv can’t take criticism” but “Viv can’t take a joke”
I feel bad for you for even watching that shit I had to watch it to understand why everyone hated it but bruh imagine wanting to be like this person

"It's a complicated situation"
...Not really?
You don't need criticism if you're ignorant
It’s so sad to see people hating creators like vivze for (mostly) bullsh!t reasons and harassing them to an insane level when they’ve barely done anything legitimately wrong
Some people crave to much attention from bad things and need to get actual lives outside of twitter
Small(ish)? Is this sarcastic?
"small(ish)" U sure buddy?

I ain't reading all of that allat 💀💀💀
i really respect you for criticisizing vivzie and still showing your respect for the show. many fans of stuff blindly defend the creators just because “i like the show and the person who made it can do no wrong”.
You’re not lol
i feel like the problem i have with Viv's stance on how others criticize (for example) the humor in her show, is that it's always either "yeah this show has a lot of dirty humor, so what?" OR "there's not THAT much dirty humor in it smh, ya'll are just exaggerating." pick a lane, stick to it and stop switching it up. it can't be both.
She's really sensitive and hostile sometimes, but other times she's as sweet as an angel. Scares me ngl lmao
