    Don't mind the choppy audio, turns out I used a partially copyrighted song. Even though it's a remixed song and not technically claimable, there's no sense in disputing it and risking my video being removed. So I decided to remove the sections of audio. That's TH-cam's copyright process for you. 😓

    I've seen quite a few of these types of diy tables on yt and this is my favorite video by faaaarrr. haha to me, diy shouldn't have to mean that I have to saw and measure a million different pieces to make the product. at that point, I might as well just buy it from a store. This was very simple and straight forward. I loved it, and will definitely try it! :D

      +Aja Ruff thank you! I'm so glad you liked it & found it helpful ☺️ I have a small collection of tools & limited space so I always try to keep that in mind for others who may have similar setups. Thanks for watching!

    Very SIMPLE! Thank you for sharing. This is a table that I can make and use for my small events...minus all the cutting, sawing, sanding and many carpentry tools.

    Yay. love seeing a real construction video, with tools rather than a hot glue gun. Love the craftsmanship.

    Hey, I absolutely love this idea and am thinking about making it as an entry table! Great color choice with the table and as always great job.
    One question...How did you attach the legs to the table?? Did the package come with attachments for you to add to both the table and the legs or? I'm just a little confused, since this was not a step that you added to the video portion for us to see.
    As always, beautiful job! Cheers.

    I love this video/project! I have been looking for an entry way table or a sofa table and was shocked at the prices I was seeing. What I most love is how you made the process look so doable and so high end. Great job!!!

    Great idea, however, when staining pine use pre-stain conditioner. The wood takes stain more uniformly. Other than that, it’s a great easy tutorial that any beginner can make!

    I am new to your channel. I have been searching diys for an entry table. I have a table that I want to use as an entry table. Every video I have watched have all these heavy machines and so much measurements, I got really discouraged. But your video proved diys does not have to be complicated and I am so happy that I can actually get pre-cut table legs. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

    If you're going to use a stain, you need to use a pre-stain conditioner to get a much more even and consistent color, instead of having areas that are so much darker than others.

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the input Nick. I’m not usually interested in stain conditioner, especially on smaller projects like this. But I have thought about using it on some of my larger projects. Thankfully none of my projects have had inconsistencies in stain that bothered me. Thanks for watching ☺️

    This is very beautiful. Is it sturdy or kind of rocky?

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Fl0werchild thank you! In terms of sturdiness I would say it's good for a laptop & not a desktop. It also depends on your floors, on hard floors it's perfectly fine & on carpet it can be moved but it's not something I'm worried about :)

    If I wanted to make the table wider and only have boards of wood like the one you used how do you suggest I attach them so that they remain straight and flush together so I don't end up with one board higher or lower than the other. I feel like this is going to be an issue for me since my wood isn't 100 percent straight. It's slightly warped which I guess is pretty common for wood.

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MeteoricMarlin warped wood is one of the reasons I had to re-work this DIY 😕 it depends on the look you want/tools you have access to. If I had to do that I would use wood glue on the edges that meet & small/thin pieces of wood screwed in to join the two pieces together underneath the tabletop. Another way would be to use the kreg jig system to join the pieces in a much sturdier way but I'm not sure if it'll work with the thinness of the 1" wood.

    • @MeteoricMarlin
      @MeteoricMarlin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Heather Moxie DIY I was thinking of making some sort of frame and then screwing the boards into that to keep them in place. I think glueing them together and clamping them in place overnight to dry then sanding them might also address the warping issue a little bit. I'm planning to make it a 2 person desk that runs all alone the office wall so it'll definitely be a lot larger then yours (about 36" wide x 10' long) ill definitely need stronger legs so I'll see how it tirns out, and I hope it holds the weight of 2 computers. Wish me luck lol. Tranks for your help.

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MeteoricMarlin no problem & that sounds like a great plan. I've also seen desks similar to that using bookshelves/cabinets from IKEA for legs/support. Pinterest has so many wall length table DIYs it's crazy 😍

  • @ZanaFieldsBeauty
    @ZanaFieldsBeauty 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Did you cut the top of the table yourself? I want to make a shelf/floating mantle for the wall but just wondering if Home Depot/Lowes would cut the wood for me.

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zana Fields thankfully no, the top portion can be found in the lumber department at your local hardware store. If you wanted it to be thicker/longer you may have to have them cut one for you 👍🏻

    I hope you won't mind too much if I pass on a little staining tip. I noticed how blotchy the boards turned our when you stained them. I started using Minwax Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner before I stain anything like pine. The blotches cover up the natural beauty of the wood, and the wood conditioner prevents this. Give it a try. I think you'll like the results.

    • @HeatherMoxieDIYed
      @HeatherMoxieDIYed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! I actually gifted this DIY to a friend after we moved out of this apartment. I know that she used it for a small TV in her room so I would say it definitely could. If you were planning on using it long term for a small TV, I would choose a thicker piece of wood for the surface. How that helps & thanks for watching!
