First the miter saw, then a table saw. Then a planer, followed by a drill press...and a biscuit joiner cutter. You would love that last thing. It's like building something and people thinking you performed magic. Oh yes, don't forget the glue. Super job, girl!
Great job! My family for many years thought I was weird too, some women want shopping sprees at clothing and jewelry stores...I prefer Home Depot or Lowe's. 😉
I understand you well as Bunnings in Melbourne, Australia is my adult toy shop and nothing compared with yours in the US. I know as I have visited and turned pea-green with envy and that is difficult as I am of Indian extraction.
I really enjoyed the step by step video. Most informative and helpful of all the videos I found. Really helpful for a first time builder with no building experience.
Great job especially since this is your first furniture pieces from scratch. You deserve so much credit. I'm happy you went back to add wood glue. Whenever joining 2 pieces of wood regardless of the butting method or technique, wood glue is crucial to add stability and longevity so even if a screw loosens, your glue will help keep the piece together. I noticed there is a small wabble to your table, that happens to even highly experienced builders however if you add adjustable caps at the bottom of the legs it will help you level the table. You can get them from Home Depot, they look like the feet of washing machines which allow you to screw the foot in or out to balance the machine. The caps also protect your hard wood from scratches. Also a good wood top coat or a wood wax would give it a beautiful finish. Can't wait to see your next furniture. There great channels here on TH-cam to polish up your wood working skills and to boost your confidence. Amazing work and I know I speak for all your viewers, we are incredibly proud of you.
So, I just got my miter saw for Christmas, and in searching for all the things to build, I found your channel. I have zero woodworking experience, and your video really helped! I hope to get started soon! Thanks!
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Sergio Lucas i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Fantastic,, what an accomplishment! For Valentine's Day, my husband and I bought a mitre saw as our gift, I, too, am scared to death of using it! Well done.
Great job 👏👏👏 I got all my pieces cut for a potting table and I’m gonna store my table saw definitely doing this one too gotta get me a miter saw I use a hand saw and circular saw 👋
Great DIY. Love it, looks beautiful! Your tutorial was spot on and very easy to follow. When mom was alive, she and I would do things like this all the time, brought back a lot of very happy memories! Might be time to break out my tools again! Thank you!
I love this ,ive bin really enjoying the wood crafts & gonna attempt to try this.... Although no power tools so this should be interesting...lol...have a great day!
I love this; it turned out beautiful. I love that ypu included the mistakes you made, which is something even the pros do sometimes so it's nice as a new DIYer to know it happens lol. I'm in the process of conditioning my DIY king bed before staining, and it's the part I hste the most (after sanding lol). You've inspired me to try this beautiful console table next.
You are doing great! I love your projects. Keep up the great work! I just want to say you can glue or not glue with pocket holes but it is recommended that you glue for a stronger bond, also when gluing end grain it is best to put a layer of glue on the end grain and let is soak in for a bit, normally I let it get a bit tacky then put more glue and put it together. That way the end grain soaks up some glue and then the second gluing allows for a better bond! Please keep up with the great ideas!
@@TheDIYCottage 😍 so nice, your house is house goals, its coming along nicely. I hope you are feeling better than a few months ago. (also, doggy cameos are the best 😉 )
What an awesome video, you did a great job. Who knew you could make such a nice piece of furniture with such a tiny little pocket jig. I’m going to share on my FB. LOVE IT!
It is so not weird to want to fill your place with tools! I am planning furniture for the house we are in the process of buying. I need a new buffet type table. Totally gorgeous. Great job!
The table is very good - nice job getting those angles right! It looks lovely all set up and decorated. Really enjoyed the video, thank you! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 😊
Doggy is like "I might be click clacking around but WHO are you talking to?"🙁 You are so clever and have given me confidence to maybe... perhaps... possibly use the power tools I have locked behind my shed door and, with fear and trembling, vowed never to use 🙅🏼🙍 Absolutely fantastic results, wow! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍💕
😂😂😂 Yes... I'm pretty sure they think I'm insane 😉 And you can totally do it! To be completely honest, I was so terrified of the saw when I first started. But what helped more than anything else...was earplugs! Those saws are much less scary when the loudness is muffled! But you got this!! 💪
You have every reason to feel thrilled with the result. Gender aside, it is a very robust, attractive piece of furniture and I imagined your husband sneaking a peek at night to actually believe his lovely wife created that. WELL DONE. I will be attempting it too and have the advantage of sophisticated tools and not as much drive as golf distracts me. I now feel inspired. Thank you.
I love your videos 😍 you show us from a real do it yourself'er lol!!! Most videos of people doing diy they still seem like freaking professionals, but you on the other hand are very genuine and are legit learning as you go but not afraid to tell some of your little techniques that some wouldn't show. Congratulations on a beautiful piece of furniture that looks absolutely beautiful 😍😍😍
Really really awesome video. The table turned out beautifully and I enjoyed the music very much. What struck me the most was the difference between how a woman approached this to how a man typically would. Your precision in measuring, cutting, drilling stands in stark contrast to how a man would just eyeball it and go for it. Your method is sooooo much better! 😎👍🏽 This is one of the best and most enjoyable DIY videos I’ve seen in a while. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work. Oh and that look you got from your furbaby was everything!!! 😂😂😂
Girl!!!! You nailed this project 😍😍😍😍😍 I LOVE it💖💗 You did an awesome job. I am really into DIYing our home as well. And I laughed sooooo hard when you showed your house while working on diys because mine looks like that right now 😂. When I'm working on videos and diys my house gets put on the back burner and my hubby just goes with the flow lol. Thanks so much for this tutorial Love💗🌼💖
This table is beautiful! You’re very daring/ talented to do all that work indoors- I would have that glue on my floor in 2 seconds. I’ve been waiting for winter to be done so I can paint my tv stand but I wouldn’t dare do it inside 😂

The color is just perfect! Natural with a touch of hilight. Love
Great job! My family for many years thought I was weird too, some women want shopping sprees at clothing and jewelry stores...I prefer Home Depot or Lowe's. 😉
Oh yeah! Home Depot and Lowe's have way better things to buy! 😉 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 my faves
My kinda woman. :D

same, i tell my husband, i bet he is so happy im not a mall shopping girl, and Id rather have tools than jewelry.

I started with a jigsaw,. Then, I bought my miter saw, and lastly a table saw. Having these saws is a huge help in making my DIY projects.
It really is! A table saw and jig saw are next on my list! 😁
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..?

Fantastic,, what an accomplishment! For Valentine's Day, my husband and I bought a mitre saw as our gift, I, too, am scared to death of using it! Well done.
You can do it!! I know it sounds silly, but earplugs really make it way less scary! But you got this! 😁
Very good, you have a sense of humour. I liked the build.
Girl power!!! Great job. You should be proud of your work
I love this design and the natural wood color!
