If you have the flair for storytelling then go for it! It sounds like you're more than capable. I'm envious as I can't focus for more than 5 minutes when I try to write. Best of luck on your literary adventures 📚 🖊️
I've been a writer since I was 9 years old (I'll be 47 this year). I'm great at nonfiction, short fiction, and pretty much any kind of writing...except novels. I have been chasing after even FINISHING a single novel this entire time and I'm starting to feel a lot like Ahab hunting Moby Dick lol. I've studied the craft of writing and practiced writing every single day since I was 9. I've tried every bit of advice, tips, tricks, and methods possible that I've found to try to help me make it through the first draft. I fail, brush off, switch gears, try again. Lately I've come to terms that I've been spinning my wheels trying to write in ways that neurotypical people are able to (butt in chair, writing schedule/habit formation, etc.) and that I'm just not built for these methods. So, I came up with a crazy plan to get the books finished...I'm starting my own channel on here where I will create content that relies on me writing while I go through the methods that I developed for my brain so that others that struggle with similar issues can join me on my journey. I plan on plenty of failing, tweaking the method, trying again...but with people potentially getting help from the content I should be able to keep going until it's done - and hopefully find the best method for me to use going forward. I have no clue what I'm doing and I'm terrified, but sometimes we have to brave new lands to complete the adventure, right? My point is (and sorry for the rambling): My current project has been a constant start - stop - rewrite journey for 10 years now. There's plenty of people who crank out books every month, and that's fine for them. But some stories require time to be born, and that's fine as well. If you're struggling getting a book finished or even started, it's ok! Sometimes we have to take extra steps before discovering the hidden key to making it work for us (both neurotypical and neurodivergent people). Writers have always had a reputation as being sort of rebels in society or eccentrics for a reason...sometimes we have to embrace our unique and strange selves before we can truly reach our authentic voices and get the projects done. So, anyone reading this...please don't stop! You have entire universes within you that deserve to come out
Hello, thank you for this lovely comment! I know what you mean, some people make writing look so easy and straightforward whereas people like us have to really work at it! I'd love to do lives and stuff in the future, maybe when I've grown a bit more of a writer community over here! I wish you the best of luck with your channel - it sounds like a great idea! Thanks for watching and subscribing
@@sophiemayeveryday I'm still trying to talk myself out of the channel lol. I'm absolutely terrified of being on camera! But you give me inspiration :) I hope you have the best of luck growing your community and I'm so happy to be a part of it! I would love to see you wildly successful in everything you do (and well deserved when it happens)! You're a rare find on here - fully transparent and just a genuine person! Just happy to be here :)
Idea for helping writing. Have you ever thought of asking your mum to be your editor/ reader for your drafts as you go along? Good to get feedback to stop the wondering of do things make sense? And bonding. Of course 🦋
I wish you all the best in your writing career, can’t wait to read your books and say I was here from the beginning ❤️
Thank you very much for the support!
I would love to finish writing a book. Not necessarily publish it, but just writing a full story would feel like such an accomplishment.
I totally agree. I'd love to just print it off at home and hold it and say I wrote this!

Thank you so much - I struggle with focusing sometimes too, it can be a challenge to write!

Haha, thanks for the support!
I’d love to be a writer it seems such an amazing lifestyle unfortunately I have no ideas for books !
Idea creation is so hard! I've had the idea for my book for so long that coming up with other ideas can be pretty tough for me too!

Thank you so much for watching! x
Where have you been? No note, car gone!
What a quote! Excellent, no notes!
If you write, then you are already an author.
Thank you! This is kind :)
