I want to ask you a serious question. Can you, an expert mechanic, actually work on any car or truck made from 2010- till now? Could you actually work on them, without having to send off for an electronic module, or could you fix them like mechanics could in the 1980s?
Miss my MKZ.. took a 4cyl before I bought ours it was weak and noisy. Got the V6..AWD Moved up a class now and purchased a Continental AWD. Fantastic on highway and snow.... Good job Scotty
I dont care what anyone buys, but i fimd it comical that people buy suv's that are almost the size of a van on the outside, seat as many people as a sedan, and has the trunk space of a fiero lol Yet a minivan carrys more than 75% of truck beds can and bring it home dry, haul 3600lbs, seats 7+, and can bring home groceries for 7+ with everyone in the van too. And the suv doesn't even have more ground clearance. To me, buy a van, a truck, a sedan, or a large suv, they all do it better than the avg suv.
I owned a 2007 Lincoln MKZ from 2011 to 2022. Served me for 11 years with nothing but routine maintenance, one of the best cars I owned. Purchased it CPO with 55,000 miles and traded it with just under 150,000 miles. When I traded the 2007 Lincoln MKZ I purchased a 2017 Lincoln Continental Select with AWD and only 18,000 miles on the odometer. I intentionally looked for a Continental with the base naturally aspirated 3.7L V6 instead of the twin-turbo. The 3.7 still moves the car with plenty of power and less potential for problems down the road. I have owned the Continental for two years now and it is a fantastic car, I enjoy driving it every day. Ford/Lincoln need to bring sedans back to the lineup. While I plan to drive the Continental for 10 years, if Lincoln does not have a sedan offering again I may need to go the Lexus route, but I prefer the classic luxury of a Lincoln!
I have an 07 MKZ AWD. Transmission went out about 115K. Replaced it with a used one started acting up again a year later. Just going to keep driving it like that until i cant anymore. If it wasnt for that major issue the car has been reliable...Alternator went out at 125K but cant complain about that one...
@@letsgonow5641get rid of the AWD that’s the problem, I owned several of this i disconnected the drive shaft, ford doesn’t make good all wheel drive cars period
2004 Lincoln LS V8 was my first car. Never had a ride so comfortable since. The interior and sound system was premium. Cost a lot to fix since it was technically a Jaguar.
78 Continental Mark V and 85 Town Car owner here. Also had an 04 Town Car but never cared much for the 4.6. Got t-boned on the passenger side. Gave its life for mine.
The only Lincoln I ever owned was a 2004 Lincoln Aviator, got rid of it 6 years ago.... It had the 4.6L DOHC 32 valve V8 awesome engine, so much power and torque! It was a very solid truck, well put together, nothing ever shook or rattled. But the transmission started going on it and the gas mileage on those trucks was terrible. It required Premium 91 octane and with the price of gas in Toronto it wasn't worth keeping. $130 to fill up ($90USD) and I'd be lucky to get 420 kms to the tank (aprox 250miles).
I drive a 2010 Lincoln MKS which is very similar to this car but a little more luxury! It has stuff like a backup camera too. It has 130k miles and engine works great, only issues I’ve had are a ball joint and a strut needing replaced.
That Lincoln was one of the best they ever made, the Fusion Sports brother. Such good cars, so reliable and quick and well built. Hate the new crap ford has made. The Fusion Sport is my favorite. Those 3.5L engines were smooth and so reliable and was also available with AWD I’ve driven a few of the 2011 Fusion Sports and I was shocked by how nice they felt driving. One of the best used cars ever!
My wife wanted a Ford sedan but they don't make them any more. She tried to find a good used Ford Fusion -- the only ones seen in used car lots were hybrids and they don't have much trunk space. We won't buy an off-shore brand ("foreign"). Reluctantly she bought a used Escape and really likes it but would have still rather had a sedan. Me, I'll keep driving our old Town Car.
If you look online you can still find good deals on 2020 fusions with low miles. Some of them are even certified. I posted a link to one but yt removed it. All the best!
I owned 4 Lincolns over the years. I quit buying them when they went to the Fusion platform with front wheel drive. My last Lincoln was a 2000 LS, rear wheel drive, V6, got 27mpg.
I've always been a sedan/coupe kinda guy. Trucks & SUVs have their fans but not for me. Love my Challenger RT with the normally aspirated 5.7L Hemi and 6-speed manual gearbox.
Thank you Scotty for very clearly highlighting that GM and Ford simply could no longer compete in that market segment. Chrysler is no longer a US corporation so forget about the big 3. It is the " not so big 2" and they continue to bleed customers with the poor quality. All they have left are marketing tricks. GM and Ford are in very deep trouble and deservedly so. Inferior products=inferior results.
Speaking of thermostat housing assemblies.... VW does the same thing and my 2019 GLI had a leak and had to be replaced. Under warranty of course which I'm thankful for because that would've been an expensive repair due to labor. Still, at only 25-30k miles at the time, that part shouldn't have failed.
I don't like a transverse 6 cylinder - should have made this rwd [hasn't got enough hood for a straight 6]. I don't mind front wheel drive at all, but... just make it a 4 banger, so working on it doesn't suck.
Well Scotty I still have my 2012 Fusion 2.5 manual...and I wouldn't change for a Honda.....Great value. Beautiful ride...excellent vehicle..Glad you tried it....
We had a 2011 Ford Fusion 2.5 L I4 and loved it. Great ride. Only pain was Ford's "special transmission cooling line adaptors". I had to torch mine off.
Sounds about right. They were selling about 200k fusions a year when they decided to stop producing them. It wasn't a bad car. I rented one and drove 2500 miles in it. The executives are making $$$ and all they're doing is cannibalizing the company
Why does this surprise you? I went through the various stages of grief with the US auto industry. I finally saw it for what it was: Terrible management, making horrible decisions based on short-term gain while sacrificing the future.......oh yeah and cheating their customers with poor quality.
This is the same platform as my 2010 Ford Fusion. No V-6 in mine, inline 4. Mine has a backup camera in the rear view mirror. No cooled seats but they are heated. My turn signal indicator is loud too. Good car for an old man like me.
Canada climate have taurus same engine 3.5 l at 266k i owned it for 14 years . I just changed drums + breaks . Beaufuil fast reliable car . Super safe in snow feels good to drive it

I thought they stopped making cars because the chassis are lower ,and were rusting faster, sitting in the lots, while customers were buying up their trucks instead.
@@AlKohalak From Toyota: "Why is Toyota not called Toyoda? Toyota Motor Corporation was founded by the Toyoda family. Excluding the larger Lincoln V6 engine, with the water pump issue, the ford Fusions, mercury Milan’s, and Lincoln zehper/mkz were good quality cars. Last of a kind.
That's why I turned down buying a used 2015 police Explorer (Police Interceptor Utility)...water pump driven by timing chain. Gotta take top and passenger side (up in wheel well area) of engine apart...ugh

Scotty what are some of the downsides to owning an old car like that? It’s nice to see an old MKZ but I’d like to know what’s the price point? What’s some of the issues they have What recalls they have.
Why is it that time after time you spew Mercedes, Ford, Lincoln are POS??? Then you review a late model and your story changes to "It;s a pretty good car". Stop being Toyota's Water Boy!!!
The only US vehicle that I've purchased since 1988 was a Ford Ranger. Otherwise, Toyotas are the dependable vehicles that I've purchased. When US manufactures meet or exceed the Toyotas and Subarus, I'll buy US again.
That'll never happen. They are too busy trying to scam people with low quality products and flashy marketing. Unless they look at themselves in the mirror and engage in some really deep introspection it'll be all downhill for the remaining 2 auto companies and deservedly so.
You see Scotty this is made in Mexico and is a reliable car. The Ford Maverick on the other hand is an entry level economy car that was designed horribly. Its not about the country its about the cars design and the budget they have for it.
I have one of these. Around the same mileage too. Even get that same kind of mpg. Doesn't look quite as nice because I'm in a northern state where they put salt on the roads, and the radio doesn't work anymore. However, that 3.5 and the 6 speed have both proven bullet proof as far as I'm concerned.
@Jonathan-mp32x At least he got 115k of trouble free driving out of a Ford. It may go another 40-50k before he needs a water pump. Everything has to break down sometime. I'm very critical of American cars but in this case, the car seems to be doing quite well. What's fair is fair.
@Jonathan-mp32x This guy will get 150k miles (estimated) out of a Ford with only $3k in repairs. That is the amazing part. If all Fords went 150k miles without tons of problems, Ford wouldn't be in the deep doodoo it is now. They have been making 4th rate garbage for decades. Don't focus so much on a water pump. Look at the bigger picture.
Had a 2016 MKZ and it was nothing but problems, the last straw for me was a leaking trunk, got a 2022 Infiniti Q50 now, MKZ is just a nicer Ford Fusion the rumours are true.

What’s some of the issues they have
What recalls they have.
Buying replacement parts for the body and interior can be a problem.
Why is it that time after time you spew Mercedes, Ford, Lincoln are POS??? Then you review a late model and your story changes to "It;s a pretty good car". Stop being Toyota's Water Boy!!!
😂 Toyota's Waterboy ! Dude he can't help it he's affected by his 86 Celica FOR LIFE !!
get a Lincoln SUV as you get older and your bones start to get stiff it's hard to get in and out of low riding vehicle..
I finally gave up and bought Toyotas a few years ago. I buy old Sienna vans circa 2000 and recently bought a 2012 Camry with 18k miles.
You see Scotty this is made in Mexico and is a reliable car. The Ford Maverick on the other hand is an entry level economy car that was designed horribly. Its not about the country its about the cars design and the budget they have for it.
Beware when you need the water pump changed on those transverse mounted Ford V6’s. The engine has to be removed from the transmission.
I love these cars, no matter what anyone says. Am a sucker for Lincoln's lol. But I own a toyota product lol (Scion)
This is the end? Well. It's about time.
Agreed.
@@rubics333cubewhy I like the channel.
Wash off the salt and get an aftermarket radio
The trunk was that much of an issue?? It was probanly just a gasket.....
