One possible theory could be that other students were conducting a social experiment on human behavior with the hypothesis "what would happen if a person was stalked, how would they react" but thought maybe they went to far after they were almost found out or possibly they got their answers to the question. Or, they really were out to kill him. That really would do a number to a person's mind for any reason. I wonder if these events led him to the career he ended up in. For many people who get into the field of psychology do so because they've experienced trauma themselves and wish to understand human behavior

Reminds me of the ONE prank call I ever recieved as a teenager. Normally I didn't answer the phone, but everyone else was outside and my dad has a business he runs from home, so it was sort of obligatory to anseer the phone to not lose business. I answer it and it's OBVIOUSLY a teenage boy and he whispers in this huskey voice "I'm gonna kill you". And I don't KNOW it's just a prank, I have teenage boys for neighbors who loved to bully me. I can hear other kids giggling in the background, but regardless, my adrenaline kicks into high gear...but literally the ONLY response I can even think to give at all is to smile and say cheerfully "Thank you!" They must think I didn't hear them because they just repeat themselves, and so I just repeat myself back too. Then finally they hang up. I always kinda wished I had a better response than that, but I'm glad the response I gave wasn't one they wanted like fear or anger. I wonder too what they thought to have gotten that response out of me. 😅
Some of his info like address, they could have gotten from a phone book if they knew his parents names. Great story. Stories like this drive me nuts though because the question are unanswered & will remain in my head going round & round & round. Great video though. 😊
@@jasonday7155 I can understand that. 😊 btw a trick I use if a video is longer than I want to spend watching it, I go to the video settings & change the speed of the video to 1.25 or 1.5. It cuts the time down a good bit & it’s not high pitched like it would be on a record. But if you close TH-cam or it refreshes & you have to find the video again, it switches the speed back to normal.
They shouldn’t have touched the video camera. They should’ve called the cops then and with that many being witnesses to what happened, both the van and the stalking situation, and all the tapes Gary had showing all the threats and how long it’s been going on, the cops might’ve opened up a proper investigation for that at that point and dusted that camera for fingerprints

Only his friends were there and only one of them would know he left in his friends truck. If it was a stranger that actually meant him harm they would have continued after the chase. The calls would have started again but they didn’t.
Idk..all of what Gary went through leading up to the big "confrontation" could have been avoided if Gary hadn't mentally engaged with a bunch of psychopaths. If he hadn't mentally engaged, all the psychopaths are doing is akin to psychological masturbation - Gary being the Penthouse magazine & the stalkers being the ones who turn to a picture in a magazine because they can't get any. And while their souls rot away, Gary gets mentally stronger and stronger and stronger as a human being with each victory he has over their provocations..🤔
Nice video and channel, but this one is not very believable right from the start. I was in my 20s in 2001 and everyone had a cell phone in 1999 three years before. I wasn’t even well off. We would play snake on the Nokia phones for hours.
