That first painting is creepy

This is one of the first ghost stores that got be hooked on ghost stores waaaay back in the 70’s in elementary school! Thanks for this!

There is a story that is somewhat the same as this story. A young girl was killed at a bridge in Jamestown NC after she was returning home from the prom with her boyfriend. Her name was Lydia. I have not found her last name, but the story is similar to the one you talked about. The bridge where she was killed has been named Lydia’s bridge. People have said they have been down that section of road and saw a girl standing in a prom dress in the dark. They stop and she asks for a ride home. They drove her to the house she said she lived in, but when they look over at the at the she was sitting in it is empty. Many have knocked on the door to make sure she got inside safely, and her mother comes to the door. The mother explains she died in a car crash. The road has been rebuilt where the accident happened. It was rebuilt and curves further out. The section where the bridge is has been kept and named Lydia’s bridge. Many go out there at night to see if they can see her.

I find the idea of "term plots" horrendous.

This is one of those legends that happen everywere. Here in Mexico, we have similar stories, where the ghost of a girl boards a cab at very late hours of the night and visits a church, graveyard or the place where she lived, always freaking out the cab man who is owed the fare at the end. At least for resurrection Mary there are some historical records, so thats awesome. Great video as always dude, I'm addicted to your content, very uncommon stories.

Love Resurrection Mary's story, but it is sad, as you said at the end. I've left flowers twice when visiting friends in Chicago. I visit every couple of years. Coincidentally, there is a story from the 1940's in the farming communities to the south of the city I live in that is eerily similar. The woman doesn't have a name, but she hitchhikes to a honky tonk in the middle of nowhere, and she's wearing a red dress. A lot of people have differing stories about her origins, but the most common is that she was a farm girl who was trying to make it to the bar for a friday night dance and she was kidnapped, raped, murdered and dumped in the cotton fields in her red dress. One of my uncles swears he picked her up once on the road from Santa Maria to Las Ligas, late one night. Nowadays the area has been developed. The old bar is still there, but what used to be miles of cotton, alfalfa and cattle is now track homes selling for nearly half a million dollars. Sad, sad, sad.

I’m Dutch, and familiar with the pyromaniac painting story. And the way you told the story really made me laugh. I believe that the rumor is started by somebody who really hated the painting.

Interesting story, but I'm calling horseshit on the whole thing.

Parents do know best. I had to spank my daughter once. I had 3 children, she was the youngest. Our street was short, I could see from 1 end to the other, essily yell to my chikdren. The rule was they stay on our street and were NEVER EVER to go into anyone's home. 1 day my daughter couldn't be seen on the street. I imm jumped in my car. On the 2nd st over her bike was thrown down in their yd. I knew another little girl lived there, I was livid more so from fear. I remember asking for my daughter in such a way the dad kind of looked at me like wth lady... my daughter truly got a spanking that day. I explained "what someone could do to you is much worse than the spanking" at our home we had monthly talks about life, safety etc. The big one was always if someone gets you into their car or home. I can't save you at that point. So dont think mom can fix everything bc we can't. We tell you not to do things for a reason. I'd tell my children. If you ever hear someone attacking me in my room in the middle of the night. Don't try to help me, get out the nearest door, run to the neighbors and call the police. I was single for many yes i remarried as they became 18/19 I remember telling my husband that i tought the kids that scenario. He was like What? Why would you even think of something like that? Because it happens every day. Youre a full grown man, youre hardly the prey. Women & children are. We have to think defensively.

A man was a great grandfather and still lived another 60 years?! We need a story just about him!!!
