Collared lizards, to me, are the most beautiful lizard. I think they are fairly common, though, and seems that most people have at least seen pics of them. Definitely a dream reptile for me to own one day!

I've watched Viper Keeper off and on for years. He has quite a few squam. I love how every baby is a different color.

I spend so much time staring at my squams, it's next to impossible to walk past them and not stop to appreciate how gorgeous they are. To be fair I stare at all my snakes, but the squams do have a slight lead over everyone else. The way you describe keeping them is essentially how I treat them, thankfully they are very docile and easy to hook when cleaning is needed. They're little pieces of living art!

Gorgeous, all of them. On this list, I think my fave is the San Francisco Garter. Just a *GORGEOUS* little noodle. Just wanted to put it out there in case anyone was considering tokays. Yes, they are definitely not for everyone and can be intimidating. That being said I personally find their attitude to be part of the fun of owning them. They are very spicy little guys and you’ll need to put a lot of work into building trust, with a very real possibility they’ll never trust you. But to me, this is half the fun!!

I agree that squams are incredible snakes, but I’d be careful suggesting that their bite probably wouldn’t be deadly. Not much is known about their venom and the few recorded bites have resulted in some very serious blood disturbances and deaths are recorded. They are very closely related to the highly deadly carpet vipers (echis) and like them, Consumptive coagulopathy is a common symptom of their e venom actions. Definitely not a snake to mess around with. That said, they are wonderful snakes to work with if you have the experience and expertise.

i raise blue garter snakes. I can attest that they have brilliantly hilarious personalities and make great pets. little handling every few days at littles and POOF, grown snake that is not overly large and is goofy AF and playful. I have one that pretty much demands to come out when i get home from work and he plays on my desk, often messing with my fingers while I am gaming.

Started video saying these animals get rarer and rarer. but ends with Tokay geckos. I'm so confused. Also no frogs or even any amphibians what channel am I watching?
Tokay Geckos are only aggressive if they're wild caught and 99.9999% seem to be wild-caught. The ones that are captive-bred TEND to be calmer. I believe Kevin from NERD is trying to breed them and chose the more passive animals. At least that's what I remember to from a video I watched a few years ago.
Also, the call of a Tokay gecko is in Asian Horror movies to indicate a ghost is coming. So the call of Tokay Geckos freaks out some people who are Asian Movie fans. That is what my wife who grew up in Thailand and refused to allow me to own a Tokay Pokemon.
