Ha! You use to do Free Shipping...who'd a thunk it! I always put the Rise in the listing. I hate, hate, hate having to pull inventory for questions. Also, especially in Women's jeans, the rise affects the waist size. Women who wear a 28 in high rise jeans might wear a 32 in low rise since they land closer to the hips. Good vid! Z
Z this has to be one of the most helpful videos I've ever watched. Thank you so very much for creating this. It helps as a new seller to learn what would be the best way to present to your item and it's measurements and information. Thank you for taking the time and making the videos that you do really appreciate them.
Hi Prof! :) Thanks for the info. The reason the actual waist on the jeans doesn't measure what the number size is on the label is because the jeans do not sit at the waist. The size 26 is made for a woman/girl with a 26" waist, and where the jeans will sit when she is wearing them is midrise, which has a wider width than the waist has on an actual body. The exception is high-waisted jeans..aka 'Mom jeans' ;) which actually sit at the waist.
I will also put a picture of not only the cuff width measured, but I have one with one of the cuffs turned up and one down. Wear shows first on the bottom and the inside of the back parts of the cuffs. So many people wear jeans that are a little too long for them and the bottom of those cuffs end up being turned up to keep the bottom of the jeans from being stepped on and getting really dirty. Showing that that area is still unworn and not terribly stained is important to some and then other people want the cuffs to show fraying and wear.
I just found your video and very helpful. By the way, some jeans junior sizing are the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, ect... More of a teen fit and misses sizes in general are 4, 6, 8, 10, etc... Lot have just gone to waist and inseam now.
I'm pre-commenting before I watch this because I want to say how crazy this is ! Today is the day I woke up and said in gonna knock a dent in the jeans I have been ironing jeans for an hour, and while ironing looking over them zeroing in on anything to note, and I just took a smoke break and was gonna look at jeans on eBay and see what the popular style of picture angels was for the highest general seller of Jeans and somewhat Imitate it get inspired , and I grabbed my notebook that has fifty million notes in it and was gonna flip to the how to list jeans part ! And I swear I just got a notification on my phone u uploaded how to list jeans ! Holy shit it's meant to be I'm already freaked out how similar my business model is to yours and the whole u sold 6 items in March same as me and ahhhh idk it's crazy I can't wait to watch this I have 20 jeans ironed and ready to put some profits in my pockets as raiken says haha half is men's half is womens actually have 4 pairs of miss me jeans2
Yes you'll come to know me i am a paragraph leaving comment junkie haha and everyone knows it but I alway got a lot to say ! Can't help it ok time to let the footage roll of awesomeness ! This is perfect timing no lie I'm so excited thank you tonsssss
+Brooke Hayes Thanks. I wouldn't iron jeans. Just seems unnecessary. If they are super wrinkled you could spray them with unscented fabric softenr and shake them out. Just extra work imo
Junior jeans are more like teen's and younger women. Odd sizes, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. Misses are even numbers. 4, 6, 8, 10 and so on. Misses are of a mature cut. Juniors are not children's jeans. Misses jeans usually have more of a curvy fit.
Thank you for your great video and the time you spent creating it. We're just getting started and I appreciate your straight foward matter of fact video style. You definitely earned my subscribe and thumbs up. thanks again!
Nice video. Have a question though about where you place you item condition. If you only put the condition info in the full description then it will not show on a mobile listing unless the potential buyer scrolls down and then clicks on "item description". I usually put in the condition box "See item description for accurate measurements and condition" to steer them to the full description.
Love the video. But curious as to why you don't measure the rise. Seems to me that's pretty important. Maybe more so to women than men but it's a pretty important thing because people look good and feel good in different rises. Of course, I suppose if they know the brand and wear it, they already know. Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback Susanna. I have thought about putting in the rise measurement as I get 1-2 questions a week asking for it. I am sure some other potential buyers just do not ask and move on to the next item. Its just a time suck. I do not think its worth the time to measure every rise on every listing just for the small percentage of buyers who want it. Also I put the rise in the title if the jeans have it listed on the tag or label. Of course I could be 100% wrong on all this lol Thanks for watching
Thanks loved the penny idea; perfect and the butt shot; easy and effective. How long do you wait until you run a sale, and how long do you wait until you sell items in lots; and finally how long do you wait to just donate items. Thanks Great Video...
Thank you for the video. Can you list brand new jeans with tags on it? And what is the best price to sell? Price tag or lower price than what the tag says?
Patty Lainez You def can list NWT. Checl recent completed listings for sales and well as those that did not sell. Should give you a good idea about price. Def lower than the tag usually
Juniors are not kids jeans. They are often teens or anyone who is small will often wear junior sizes. When you see 7, 9 11, etc. or 13/14, etc. are also junior listing sizes. My 24-year-old daughter is thin and wears a 5 or 7 depending on brand. The women's sizes are the even #'s and are for a curvier fuller figure woman. Then the heavier plus women can also be even #'s but often have "w" after the # for "wide", or even a different numbering system on some brands such as Chico's, which I'm very sure you already know since you sell jeans! ;-) Thanks for the great video-love all of your videos.
Hi love your videos and your gal Kaaren ! I’m new to this and you’re helping me with that. Lost my job of 25 years had a knee replacement surgery last year and didn’t work so it’s only husband working thought I can help with bills with doing this. I have about 50 things up so far and not selling only about 4 things🤔 ok I know somewhere I thing you had in your note 📝 a template to put in description can you point me to that video 🤦🏻♀️🙋🏻🙋🏻🙋🏻
Hi Colleen. Templates can be created in Ebay for listing. Try just simple bullet points to describe your items. Just facts no opinions. Check photos for how they look especially on mobile. Thanks for watching and sharing!
🙋♀️ Looks like the listing choices have changed since you did this video. There’s no wash choice and flare choice and custom label. . I wonder why ebay took those out? 🤔
Not sure if you will see this since video is older but... Question, if you measure waist that way, 14 1/2 across the back, so you said waist 29, isn't it possible that is incorrect because what if person who wore them had big belly. Isn't it possible that across the front of the waist could be a few inches larger than measurement across the back? Thanks for your time and for sharing your knowledge. Appreciate it and enjoy watching/learning from you and Karen.
do you have a video that shows how and why you do free shipping using the padded flat rate envelope? I'm so confused on shipping..ha. thanks. love love the video.
I am really new to selling and leaning so much from your video's. Where did you get the photo lights you have? Is there a certain brand that is better to purchase? Thanks for the information!!!
I loved this video! Great content, thanks so much! HOWEVER ... I want to start with the inventory system but can't find the "Seller Sku" that you had on your screen. How is that, don't you think? Or could it be because I don't have a store (yet)?
Prof Sales Thanks for your fast response, all while I listed! 😄. I went back, rewound the video to see again where you got it, and definitely not on my laptop. So weird, but thanks again for all your help. I appreciate it!
i really liked your video. I have some questions 4 u...1) how you deal with taxes (IRS). 2) what is your experience with store. I had one before but sells were blahhh.... but im thinking to do it again. are you sells more local or international? and...i have a lot of issues taking pictures of clothing...blouses and so forth...so do you take pictures hanging, laying on the floor with white or black background... thank you for sharing knowledge. Trishia
Thank you for the video. I've been watching for a while. I have a small inventory and I'm excited to get started. Your videos are very informative. I'm shopping bins and the local Salvation Army mostly. Also a local GoodBuys that has great pricing. Can't wait to see how it goes!
You can do that but the problem is it wont show up when you print your Orders awaiting shipment page. You can display the column for a Custom Label field
I have a couple lights from a company called Cowboy Studio. Each stand has five 5500 K bulbs that can be turned on and off individually. You can find them on Amazon. Thanks for watching
Use the HTML tag if you know HTML. Most folks do not know how to code which is why they pay for third party software to do that. I know PHP, HTML, etc. so I find it easier to design my own template. You can add background colors, images, whatever you like but it's probably best to keep the design simple.
Bryan Bailey Thanks. It's way out of my wheel house, but I've been hearing lately that eBay is changing it's policies about what you can put in the item descriptions so that the page loads better on mobile devices.
Dreamingrightnow HTML is the language that creates the content. That must stay or there is no website. For example, you can use the GUI part and click the bullet points OR you can go into html and use the /... tags. I prefer the latter because I know how to code and I think it's cleaner. As far as mobile, I'd recommend the KISS principle. But you can do some fairly exotic layouts with HTML and CSS. I do realize most people do not know it but, it's there if you want to try it out.
Great Vlog....I didn't know I needed to see this until I came across your video. What a welcomed difference from the way I've been listing the few jeans I have.
What do you ship your jeans in? I find that a property padded flat rate envelope is more durable as it won't rip like the large or legal size flat rate envelopes
+Prof Sales do you put the jeans in a poly bag too? What about jeans that the cuffs are somewhat worn but no tears, rips etc? Do you disclose that in the description or let buyer decide.
Thank you for making this educational video. You are so kind to teach us new sellers and have us benefit from your experience. May the Lord bless & keep you!
$20? Wow! from Goodwill? Ouch. Maybe it is the area you stay in. I am in NC. Went sourcing at Goodwill yesterday. $4.59 a pair regardless of the brand. If I were you I would maybe start checking out clearance racks and discout stores like Ross, Burlington, etc... and make yourself informed when stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx have special sales. "yellow tag". Most important thing is to not give up. You may have to think outside the box a little, but it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck to you!
Thank you so much for doing this video!!!! I just sourced about 60 pairs of womens jeans. Do you ship in a priority padded flat rate envelope? Resale Warrior
Hi there, new subscriber here! Your videos are super helpful and I watch them quite often =) Oh and I like Kaaren hehe. I have a question, does it make a difference if you start a listing from scratch through seller hub or if you go to "Sell Similar" from a like item and tweak it from there? I have 20+ items listed, majority from "Sell Similar", yet when I go on my Seller Hub, it's all blank and appears I haven't ever done anything with it. It's making me a little nervous that I've been listing all wrong. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Hi! One thing that I am running into jean wise is that I hate to list any info about a jean that is not verifiable from the jean labeling itself...e.g- there are so many leg types - flare-bell bottom-boot cut-... or straight vs. skinny--- etc....so i usually don't mention the "type" of jean leg unless it's on the label...but then I feel like i am missing out on "key" title words. Id rather not make a mistake and have someone upset by that so I just take a ton of pictures and measurements etc and let them decide if they like the "look"....how do you handle this situation?
If you look at the manufacturers website they will tell you what fits come with which jeans and you can measure the leg opening to know for sure. Thanks for watching
I noticed you didn't measure the full length of the jeans. Also when I measure the total length of Levi's the measurement is always longer than what's on the tag. Can you help me clarify my confusion.
Yes, the whole sizing situation is crazy, 3 pair of pants same actual size will be different sizes from different brands. AND, how to you have a waist size on pants that don't come up anywhere near the actual waist. Those waistband on the pants you just measured hits somewhere in the hips area, it MIGHT be a 26" waist if they went up that high. Maybe we should call it a "waistband" size.
www.heddels.com/2015/01/will-blend-common-uncommon-denim-compositions/ Actually Elastane is a blend of polyester and polyurethane and its pretty common so there you go! Thanks for watching
When you go to Goodwill on your own and check the jeans with such intensity that people are asking you if you're buying them to sell them back...oooops!
What kind of cuff shot do you take? I think you mentioned 2 flaws and you're out. A lot of the jeans I'm sourcing through are pretty good except the cuffs I might rate a C which is not bad but not great. Do you disclose that in the description or you let the cuff shot 'do the talking'. I don't want negative feed back and want to be honest.
Thank you so much! Still watching in 2023!
Ha! You use to do Free Shipping...who'd a thunk it!

Hi Fabulosity77 You are very welcome
Thanks for the tips. I went through my listings and changed all my jeans listing main photos to the butt shots. Hopefully, that works for me, too!

Great video. Very informative. What are the measurements of the white board that you use?
30x20
Thanks for the quick reply
Great video. When you take a picture of the inseam are you taking picture of entire jean from cuff to inseam?
I just fold the jeans in half and take picture from cuff to inseam. Thanks
🙋♀️ Looks like the listing choices have changed since you did this video. There’s no wash choice and flare choice and custom label. . I wonder why ebay took those out? 🤔
Bruceann Yellowega Good question. They make some strange decisions sometimes
thanks for the great video! Lots of nice detail

do you have a video that shows how and why you do free shipping using the padded flat rate envelope? I'm so confused on shipping..ha. thanks. love love the video.
Hi .We have since switched to flat rate shipping. I would start with that or even calculated and then experiment with free shipping later. Thanks
this was so helpful thanks
I am really new to selling and leaning so much from your video's. Where did you get the photo lights you have? Is there a certain brand that is better to purchase? Thanks for the information!!!
Try Cowboy Studio light kits. You can find them on Amazon or Ebay
What brands do you buy? Thanks, Dennis

Did eBay get rid of immediate payment?
Great video and info. On the location/item number. I just have always put it
in the description box instead of the custom label line.
You can do that but the problem is it wont show up when you print your Orders awaiting shipment page. You can display the column for a Custom Label field
Thank you wonderful video !!
Hi M Tonar You are very welcome
what do you think about Eddie Bower jeans in good condition almost new
john hash meh
With the high cost of shipping, im wondering if you’re still offering free shipping with priority mail?
Bruceann Yellowega We are but we arent really selling jeans these days
BTW your videos are EXCELLENT!
Thanks for watching!
Jason what is that board called. I believe you said you got it at Michael's. I having problems taking jeans pictures.
Its just a white foam board. Sometimes they go on sale for $1.00 each
Thanks that's what I got it at Hobby Lobby. I paid about $4 with a coupon. :-)
I take photos with a reg. camera. My problem is blue jeans don’t come out true to the color of the jeans. Not sure what i can do about it. 🤔
Bruceann Yellowega Look into adjusting your lighting and white balance on your camera
So even if the tag says 26x26. List them as the measurement you came up with?
Jerry Henry yes! I put the measurements in the description
Curious what type of lighting you use?
I have a couple lights from a company called Cowboy Studio. Each stand has five 5500 K bulbs that can be turned on and off individually. You can find them on Amazon. Thanks for watching

Not sure why you arent seeing your listings. I would contact Ebay
Are you measuring the inseam or the outseam?
Sorry, the out seam .
Not really much reason to measure the outseam unless someone asks. The inseam should always be part of your listing
Great point! Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!!!
You're welcome!

Go to menards for a 8 foot by 4 foot white board for $15. Jeez la weez man.
Yeah I told him too, so much easier to walk to either corner side of table to take pics than moving the jeans about all day can wear a person out....
Thanks for sharing Limitless Success

Are you in VA? Maybe we're local
Thanks for the comment Patrick Bray
When you go to Goodwill on your own and check the jeans with such intensity that people are asking you if you're buying them to sell them back...oooops!
Thanks for the comment Lore
and one last thing. your ebay listing setting is completely different to the one i have by default...is because you have a store?
trishia
I use mobile for listing. Perhaps that explains the difference

For instance I picked up a pair of women's Diesel jeans and the condition is pretty good except I would rate the cuffs C.
When I doubt I list the cuffs with wear. See photos for condition.
Crotch stains....yuck. lol. Good video
I would not even buy any with that at the bins or retail store - no way - YUCK
