Having devoted all of myself to gravel and this new discipline, I can say this bike is one of the biggest progressions I've seen yet. Fast, light, and aero, yet compliant. Seeing so many of the CLLCTV roster and crossover athletes find success is gratifying and proof that this thing rips! I've been using the fame bags on long adventures and FKTs as well. Note to buyers, the handle bar is fast and comfy with the perfect sweep angle, but with the "downsweep" it almost acts like a steeper angled stem (hoods are lower than flat bar) so when finding your fit, don't be surprised if you have a few more spacers under the bars to get the same fit, it works out just fine!!
Lol you can feel that Kasia was added last minute to the clip. Like after the movie got made the marketing boys where like "mate we need some girl in the movie, you know so people don't get mad and one just won world championships".

Whats the point of 44cm handlbars? Either pay £360 for the pro version or live with the 44cm handlbar forever. And If you decide to purchase the pro version make sure to use your 44cm handlebars as a toilet holder.

Revolution after a revolution...
Tire clearance is technically unchanged at 700x 42 mm, but Canyon points out that’s with fenders, so the effective maximum tire size is closer to 700×45 mm (40 mm-wide tires come stock across the board). There’s also a dedicated - and impressively, thoroughly engineered - full-length front and rear fender kit

Hi. A quick question I literally live in Emporia KS.(where Unbound Gravel starts and finishes). In your opinion, is the new Grail with its 40 mm tires an OK Bike to ride on different gravel roads in the Emporia area? I am not sure if it is most suitable for the terrain we have here… or the Grizzl with the 45 mm tires would be the better option? I love speed, I am not into bike packing at all and I would not go deep into the muddy Flint Hills, just riding gravel roads around in Emporia. Any opinion would be appreciated!
I like how the two women who won got like 5s of time in the whole 10min of your video and the guy who didn't make top5 was on there for about 8min. Talk about snubbing your own winning athletes. Jeez

I've got to say I really enjoy all that marketing talk, especially when some of those biggest races are won on cyclocross bikes (remember that discipline?) with just a tad wider tires. Oh, and talking about the ability to adapt to riders' needs and body with integrated cockpit... Yeah, sure, why not. But hey, it's not the riders, it's definitely the fastest gravel bike in the universe! Wink wink.
I like the one with the Dura Ace 12 speed road group set. Why did Canyon stay with press fit BB?
I plan to apply TCR :10 with this.
Can anyone share your view when picking between canyon road bikes and gravel? Is that better to have a gravel for usually rides on road and mountains?

Dear Canyon, after watching a bunch of very favorable TH-cam reviews I went ahead and ordered The Grail CF SLX with Di2. The bike arrived three weeks and I assembled and tested it over about 300 miles now. The bike itself is great but I am disappointed with the lack of accessories. The wheels come with tubeless tires but are set up with inner tubes. I do understand that this is done for shipping and storage reasons. However, I did not find tubeless valves in the accessories box. I am pretty sure that DT swiss ships their wheels with tubeless valves so I was surprised to find them missing. Who actually rides a Gravel bike with inner tubes these days? A few years ago I bought an Aeroad with ARC1100 wheels and even back then the valves were included in the purchase. Predictably the rear wheel went flat after the first 100 miles and I had to trek to my local bike shop and buy valves and sealant.
By biggest gripe is that none of the accessories like the computer mount, inner storage bag or frame bag are included in this $5000 purchase. These features were heavily advertised at the launch event (and on various Canyon-sponsored social media posts, ahem TH-cam). Who doesn't use a bike computer? These items should be standard accessories shipped with the bike. Even worse, Canyon cannot even deliver the much touted accessories if I wanted to purchase them. In the US online store there is no availability for any of these items. So I am stuck with no computer mount, no frame bag and useless internal storage.

Awesome. Just received my CFR. Only problem is not one of the accessories highlighted are available. Garmin Mount? Nope. Have to ride with my GPS in my pocket. Integrated storage bag? Nope. Not sold with the bike and not available for purchase. Innovative FidLock bag? No again. Crazy that a $9K bike is sold and nothing advertised is available. Not a single one. If you’re listening Canyon, I think you should contact your launch edition customers.
Can you maybe handle keeping them in stock this time for more than 2 weeks?

Canyon seem to have finally begun to catch up, in terms of aero gravel race bike innovation, to the all-road quiver killer leaders like 3T Exploro, Cervelo Aspero and Open bikes, which are all designed by visionary Gerard Vroomen. Brilliant to see three women and three major wins on the bike. …now just to fix the tyre clearance and stem length adjustment issues - 650b and aftermarket stems?
AND build in threaded bb - eventually!
And what's the story behind, speccing all sizes with a ridicoulously wide bar? For a "gravel race bike". Like 42cm for XS, and 44/46cm for M/L sizes? Even 42cm is too wide for M/L. Most use/need maximum 40 or narrower. BMC is speccing 360mm bars. And bar width is in the hoods, not the flared width.

Everything is great, but why not add storage to the CF SL.... Now we are forced to buy more expensive bike if we want the most practical feature... I hope Grizl gets the storage update on all the line up models!!
I can't say how much I agree with you. If the Grizl gets storage and integrated handlebar the Grail is done!

I agree so much! I don't have a need for the fastest and lightest. I am not racing nor will I but I love the idea and looks of this bike. I love the storage and the aero bar installation possibility but it's not something I would spend another 2000-3000 euro to actually get.
thats the point of their business ... they make entry models so shitty you are forced to buy higher range ... but even middle range models are shitty or have some bs which will trigger you to buy only top end

Er is alleen een mechanische 12 speed GRX. Wie weet hoe lang het nog duurt voordat er een GRX DI2 is.
@@stankoolen9092 Yes in now, maar ook zo zuur als je een nieuwe fiets koopt met Di2 en paar weken later is er een nieuwe groepset uit.. Kan Canyon natuurlijk niets aan doen, maar voor mij het wachten zeker nog even waard.

The Grail CFR LTD and the Grail CFR AXS are equipped with a powermeter

Where are the frames manufactured?
I was excited and waiting for this to drop. Then I saw the ridiculously wide bars. Not pulling the trigger having to replace the bar and stem. I want a 2x with 36 tooth gears in the rear. This has 34s. I can live with that and buy a new cassette. But not new carbon bar and stem on a new bike. May have to go the build route.
Would be buying this bike if it would be able to run 45c tires. Shame

I think you made the wrong choice to build it mainly around racing to match the UCI rules for your sponsored athletes. Its not a bike for the masses anymore which is sad. At least put the key features in all of the models not only the expensive frames so normal people can enjoy it. Also the paintjobs besides a few CFR colors are not very creative imho. You can do better I guess.
